ABSTRACT In this paper, we examine the discretionary uses of documentation in the implementation of naturalisation through a comparative perspective focusing on Belgium, France and the United Kingdom. We investigate the organisational and professional factors that are likely to impact variation in the uses of discretion based on documentation. Belgium, France and the United Kingdom represent three interesting case studies involving different actors with different mandates. In Belgium, municipal agents are responsible for a mandatory check of applicants' documents before transferring the naturalisation application to public prosecutors. While only the latter have the mandate to check that the legal requirements are met, most municipal agents are involved in the examination of the requirements. In France, before the digitisation of nationality acquisition in 2023, the initial acceptance of an application involved prefectural agents who had the power to refuse application registration if the documentation was deemed insufficient or ‘non‐compliant’. In the United Kingdom, ‘Nationality Checking Services’ (NCS) were available until 2019 in local register offices for an optional check of the application before the transfer to the Home Office, which remains the decision‐making body on nationality applications. As United Kingdom law regulates strictly immigration advice, NCSs were often unwilling to express themselves on the chances of an application. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork consisting of interviews with implementation agents in the three countries and observations of their interactions with applicants, this paper contributes to shedding light on what drives variations in the governance of access to nationality through paperwork. This paper, based on my doctoral ethnographic research amongst the Miya community in one of the chars of Western Assam, shows how a particular category of identity documents shape their subjectivities, experiences, and aspirations. I focus on the identity documents which have errors, like mistakes in names, dates of birth or addresses, and badly angled photos. I refer to them as thin documents. Because of the thin documents, the Miyas find it difficult to assert formal citizenship rights, which they could normally assert based on accurate documentation. For the thin documents to help prove the Miyas' citizenship, they must be further supported by an additional set of documents. The process questions the Miya's formal citizenship rights. I present narratives of the Miya people living with thin documents to illustrate how the materiality of the identity document binds the Miya people to a state of liminal citizenship. I ask: what do these errors in the identity document or thin documents tell us about citizenship, particularly liminal citizenship with reference to the Miya community of Assam? This article explores how states mobilise ideologies of the rule of law to legitimise, facilitate and obscure human rights violations, especially in the context of citizenship and migration. There is a global pattern of states using ostensibly legal means to undermine citizenship status of vulnerable minorities. In several national contexts, the invocation of the rule of law and the use of legal identity documents are interlocked. States have relied on the regimes of documentary citizenship as the legal face of citizenship deprivation. This article studies India's north-eastern state of Assam – one of the most striking instances of this pattern – where bureaucratic practices of citizenship adjudication have threatened the citizenship status of more than 3 million people. It shows that despite being centred around them, the administrators of documentary citizenship routinely disregard identity documents in their everyday functioning. It argues that India's ethnicised politics towards immigration constitutes contradictory attitudes towards identity documents. Officials imagine legal identity documents as legitimate and viable, and simultaneously compromised due to administrative corruption and complicity. This documentary doublethink engenders grave instability of citizenship status. This paper investigates contemporary transformations of citizenship in India, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar in their historical trajectories. More specifically, we focus on the contestation of liberal aspects of the respective citizenship regimes, in particular principles of non-discrimination on the basis of caste, race, gender, religion, or ethnic belonging as well as a high degree of legal certainty about one's citizenship status. We advance two central arguments. Firstly, we argue that while often studied in isolation, the processes by which liberal citizenship is contested across the three countries bear remarkable similarities. We therefore develop a transnational comparative perspective to highlight the legal mechanisms and social logics by which citizenship regimes across the region are being transformed. Secondly, we argue that to capture these transformations, we need to complement the analyses of legislative changes with an investigation of socio-legal practices. This dual focus reveals how the interplay between seemingly innocent legislative changes and particular bureaucratic practices across all three countries produces zones of liminality, in which entire population groups experience increasingly precarious citizenship status. We theorise this production of liminal citizenship by focusing on the social lives of official documents and the proliferation of rules and regulations governing the respective citizenship regimes. Forensic document examination is characterized by its longevity, diversity, and evolution over time. Predominantly, published research within this field has focused on handwriting examination, the articulation of forensic conclusions, and the development of technical instrumental advancements, focusing on the use of document examination in the resolution of casework. This is a persistent and common problem within forensic science that Kirk identified in 1963 and that other authors have reaffirmed more recently. Ultimately, this has resulted in the potential of forensic intelligence, remaining relatively underexplored in the field of document examination. Forensic intelligence is a different way to view and analyze traces, shifting the focus from the traditional identification of source and activity, to instead identifying trends in criminal activity to assist in the reduction, prevention, and proactive disruption of crime. Despite a distinct disparity between these strands of research, there has been a persevering evolution toward the implementation of a systematic forensic intelligence method for the examination of fraudulent identity documents. Since its initial inception into the research community, this method has expanded and been implemented across Europe, and Canada, with tests also being conducted in Australia. These first tangible steps toward a forensic intelligence capacity within document examination have also inspired new work using forensic intelligence and systematic comparisons within the field of handwriting examination, as well as the recognition of the transversal potential of this method, with it being applied to both physical and digital documents. In this review, the fields of document examination and forensic intelligence will first be introduced, along with a subsequent examination of the research that has led to the creation of a forensic intelligence model within the field of document examination. It should be noted that this review has largely been limited to a review of research that has been published in English and French due to the language of the authors. AbstractAre bureaucratic institutions simply hollowed-out instruments of autocratisation, meaning they merely execute the orders of ­populist-authoritarian actors? If not, how do they deal with the destabilisations of autocratisation? Drawing on a study of street-level bureaucracies in contemporary Turkey, this article contributes to ongoing debates on the (un)makings of autocratisation and its limits through its focus on the role played by documents in everyday bureaucratic praxis. The findings highlight that bureaucracies do not simply operate in a top-down manner with bureaucrats having little to no space for manoeuvre. On the contrary, documents generate ambiguities and anxieties that civil servants strategically deploy through their incessant translations, negotiations, subversion, countercurrents, contestations and resistances to constrain and rebuke autocratisation. In doing so, the article demonstrates the limits of autocratisation in Turkey, and traces how such large-scale transformations are experienced from within state institutions, and how they unlock the agentive potential for the stakeholders, such as bureaucrats. The article challenges conventional discussions across political science through its attendance to the countercurrents and resistance from within the state, rendering the state not as a coherent, homogeneous entity but more as an incessantly rearticulated relationality. AbstractBackgroundMethodsResultsConclusionDocuments are influential in shaping drug policy debates and are valuable data for drug policy research. In this article we conduct a values analysis of one drug policy document. The objectives were to assess the values within a policy document; assess the utility of Schwartz’s values framework in documentary analysis; and consider the relationship between values and policy positions.We chose the report foreword of a Special Commission in Australia for analysis. We developed deductive, theoretically-informed codes following Schwartz’s values framework, and undertook reflexive analysis of the coding process. Individual and cultural values were coded at the paragraph level and summed to analyze dominant values.Values related to structural context and drug policy; drug policy values were primarily security and universalism values; policy positions did not neatly map onto values positions; and researcher interpretations of motivations shaped the value identified.Policy documents can reveal conflicting values; these should be interpreted through inflection and emphasis specific to each occurrence. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine Robert Pagès' 1948 conception of "auto-document" as a possible forerunner to the neo-documentalist conception of "documentality" as offered in Bernd Frohmann's 2012 article "The Documentality of Mme Briet's Antelope." Design/methodology/approach: This paper is conceptual and historical. Findings: Robert Pagès' concept of the "auto-document" in his 1948 article proposed an understanding of documents that depends on the "uniqueness" of a document. His article proposed a post-Otletian theory of documents similar to a discussion of documents by Bernd Frohmann in 2012 with the concept of "documentality." Further attention to Pagès work and to Frohmann's works could result in new understandings of Briet's works, could illuminate other works and authors understood as belonging to neo-documentation and could yield new understandings of documents and information from the perspective of documentality as a new philosophy of information and documents. Research limitations/implications: Further attention to Pagès' work and to Frohmann's works could yield new understandings of documents and the relation of documentary types across natural and sociocultural domains and bring renewed attention to documentality as a new philosophy of information and documents. Practical implications: Attention to these issues could broaden the study of documents and documentation, increase the historical understanding of Suzanne Briet's works and bring light to other works in neo-documentation, particularly in regard to the concept of documentality as a new philosophy of documentation and information. Social implications: Attention to these issues could broaden the study of documents and documentation to include more broadly animal and other natural entities and our relationships to them. The works cited also illuminate an empirical science understanding of documents, documentary evidence and information. This paper describes the activities of the staff of the Arge County Museum in creating and developing a collection of old documents and books. The Museum has legal ownership of objects acquired through purchase, donation or exchange. The Museum's book collection is quite valuable and diverse. Its development and promotion are carried out through exhibitions, symposiums, round tables and publications in the scientific yearbook "Argesis: Studies and Communications". The purpose of this periodical of the Arge County Museum is to promote the movable and immovable national cultural heritage, publish materials on museum studies and scientific research, as well as highlight restoration and conservation activities. The article focuses on objects from the collection of old documents and books, exhibited at two temporary exhibitions. Some of the exhibits did not require complex restoration processes. The Archives of the University of Wroclaw have preserved folders with documents related to the studies, the defense of the doctorate and the employment at the University of Wroclaw of S. Parnicki-Pudełko. They show the unconventional character and unusual career path of the young scientist. By the way, through these documents we get to know him as a committed patriot and social activist. Already at that time, his significant intellectual potential was noted, his enthusiasm for work and his excellent development was rightly predicted. Living in extremely difficult times, he knew how to maintain decency. In the later years of his life and career, he was associated with the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw and then the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan where he spread his wings as a professor and head of the Novae archaeological expedition.

This article builds on anthropological research on bureaucratic inscription as a power-laden process to explore the craft of document translation in contexts of immigration legal advocacy. In a legal climate characterized by suspicion and resource scarcity, immigrants who seek to regularize their status in the United States face steep evidentiary challenges, including the requirement that all documentation, including records from their countries of origin, letters of support from friends and family, and their own affidavits, must be translated into English. Approaching immigration document translation ethnographically and drawing on multi-year fieldwork in a nonprofit providing legal services to low-income, Spanish-speaking immigrants, this article focuses on translation as neither straightforward and mechanical nor as impossibly complex but rather as a craft that involves exercising discretion. Practicing this craft with care is one way to counter the otherwise alienating and state-centric nature of bureaucratic inscription.

Objectives: The research aims to study documentary archives from important departments, given that they contain important data, information and documents about events and general conditions. One of the countries that has been interested in archival work is Iraq because of the desire of many Iraqi historians to keep pace with those countries, as Iraq is the main homeland. For documentary archives, due to the ancient civilization and its cultural heritage since ancient times and in its contemporary history. Methodology: The research includes a brief historical study that gives a clear picture of the historical roots of archival work in Iraq by relying on Iraqi documents, sources, and newspapers that were considered the scientific sources of the research, then focusing on the role of Iraqi historians in collecting, classifying, and archiving documents and making them scientific material to draw from. Researchers and graduate students such as Abdul Razzaq Al-Hassani, Salem Al-Alusi, Saleh Ahmed Al-Ali, Yassin Abdul Karim, and others who later became founders and workers at the Iraqi Center for Document Preservation. Result: The archive constituted a source of various information related to the development of the features of political, social, intellectual, economic and cultural life, from the formation of the Iraqi state, and for this reason the state faced the problem of how to deal with the huge amount of these papers, records and files that are issued daily, but it did not receive any attention from anyone. In order to preserve documents and the necessity of securing them, or to establish an independent department to take care of their preservation and facilitate access to them by historians and researchers, until the destruction law was issued in 1942 AD, to which several amendments were made. Conclusion: A country that does not have an archive is like a patient who has lost his memory. Preserving documents goes back to the University of Baghdad and the urgent need for sources and references that they rely on in historical studies and research and their sense of the importance of documents in historical writings. They also drew attention to the necessity of making use of old papers. preserved in the state ministries and departments, and thus the responsible authorities at the University of Baghdad made unremitting efforts to contact government departments and institutions, urging them to pay attention to old records and files that contain various important information.

Abstract: The article attempts to reconstruct the biographies of two prominent historical figures of the first decades of the XX century – Counts Alexander and Mstislav Tolstoy, older brothers of the writer A.N. Tolstoy. Having begun their career path in Samara and in the Samara province, where both alternately headed the Samara district nobility, they made excellent careers (one of the brothers met the 1917 revolution as governor of Vilna, and the other as vice-governor of St. Petersburg), many and productive worked for the benefit of their hometown of Samara and the country as a whole, but after the revolution they were forgotten and erased from Russian history, a slow return to which began about three decades ago, but has not yet fully taken place. This article is an attempt at such a personal return, where, on the basis of rare and unique documents from the family collections of the descendants of Count Tolstoy, memoirs, newspaper publications, etc., their biographies are restored, including both official, public, and personal, family moments. The attempted biographical reconstruction is interesting and significant both in historical and local history terms, and in historical and literary terms – as a context for the historical trilogy of the younger brother of the heroes of this article by A.N. Tolstoy – the trilogy «The Road to Calvary».

Research on International Organizations (IOs) has yet to examine policy template translations closely. These are documents routinely produced by IO country offices to compile templates coming from headquarters. The article asks how country offices shape the translation of templates and when a translation fails. It conceptualizes country offices as organizations in a field and proposes the case of the Common Strategic Framework as a failed template translation defended by the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in the United Arab Emirates between 2016 and 2018. Through direct observations, interviews and text analysis, the article argues, first, that template translations carry the fingerprints of the dispositions and positions of the country office in charge. Second, a translation fails when the office in charge is uncomfortable in its organizational field. The office finds itself adopting incoherent position-takings or stances through the text and may abandon the document altogether. By proposing a methodological solution to analyse template translations in their context and taking country offices seriously, the article sheds light on the adaptation and success of IO policy advice, including in countries traditionally at the margins of multilateralism. Roman ruling ideology stressed imperial control of knowledge, as well as of material and people. A range of evidence from across the empire suggests that these knowledge claims were commonly accepted, and often mobilised, by ruled communities. In his First Apology, written in Rome in the 150s and addressed to the Roman emperor, Justin Martyr leverages these ideals for his own knowledge claims concerning the life of Jesus and his fulfilment of Hebrew Bible prophecies. It has already been recognised that Justin engages with the machinery of empire through packaging his Apology as a petition presented to the emperor. On the other hand, his citation of Roman documents at several points in the text has been neglected. A close examination reveals the importance of these citations to Justin's project, in which he utilises the supposed fidelity of Roman documents, and the idea of the emperor as a guarantor of collected knowledge, to authenticate his Christian claims. Finally, proceeding from suggestions about an internal audience for Christian apologetics, it is argued that these references should be seen as alleviating the concerns of an internal Christian readership, and not as overtures to non-Christian Graeco-Romans. Good governance policies in international development require nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to translate their programs into documents that render NGOs knowable and accountable to their donors. Drawing on multisited ethnographic fieldwork in Ghana and Uganda, we examine the signatures on these documents and the labor of NGO staff to obtain the signatures of aid recipients. We argue that signatures serve as mechanisms that NGO staff use to make their good governance practices traceable and to deter donor suspicion of funding misuse. Staff dedicate significant energy to imagining how signatures may or may not trigger donor suspicion. We posit that despite NGO staff's anxiety over getting signatures right—present, matching, and signed by the correct person—signatures can only ever defer donor suspicion. Such suspicion cannot be eliminated because it is deeply entrenched in racialized logics that position Global North donors as holding expertise and African NGOs as susceptible to corruption. Because NGO staff worry about donor suspicion rather than what aid recipients communicate with their (lack of) signatures, even fake signatures can circulate just as well as authentic ones. Tracing the social dynamics of collecting signatures sheds light on the racialized injustices inherent in Africa's development systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examines references to and images of writing in the Qurʾān, suggesting that some of them have been overlooked or de-emphasized in interpretations of the text. It then investigates the various Qurʾānic uses of the term sulṭān, usually translated as "authority," and suggests that sulṭān, in some passages, refers to a document, a warrant or license that authorizes the bearer to carry out some task. In 1834, by Decree of 30 May and as part of the general ecclesiastical reform undertaken by Joaquim António de Aguiar, Minister and Secretary of State, and carried out by the Commission for the General Reform of the Clergy (1833-1837), all convents, monasteries, colleges, hospices and religious houses of all religious orders were extinguished, with the female houses remaining subject to their respective bishops until the death of the last nun, the date of their definitive closure. The process of extinction of religious houses involved the drawing up of hundreds of inventories currently in the Torre do Tombo National Archive. This wealth of information makes it possible to carry out countless archival, history, and art history studies associated with economic and sociological studies. In this study, we intend to focus on the inventories of the Santo André de Rendufe monastery and the Convent of Christ in Tomar. The fact that both institutions have a Benedictine character (in the first case, black monks and in the second, friars of the Order of Christ) but are located in different places in the kingdom will allow us to make comparisons, propose hypotheses and draw conclusions that may help us to understand better how the above-mentioned processes of extinction of religious houses and the collection of their archives and documentary collections were conducted.

The current study deals with the topic of the effectiveness of narrated, visual, and printed media as documents and data conveying the culture and knowledge of people, as well as a discursive structure with sensory authority that affected the nature of the artistic experience through the dynamic interaction between the artist’s creative intentions and his experience, in addition to the intellectual and historical influences resulting from the power of the medium as an effective tool in directing the artist’s vision The research was divided into four chapters, first chapter devoted to the research problem, which ended with the following question: What are the areas of media structure and how do they dominated on the visual surface appearances? The second chapter, it included two sections, the first section entitled Mediality of language/versus the oral and the copied, while the second section was entitled Mediality of the Image/versus the audio-visual. The third chapter contained the research procedures represented by the method, community, research tool, and analysis of the research sample which included three models. The fourth chapter included the results and conclusions. The following are some of the results: 1-The effectiveness of the medium emerged as a symbolic and ideological material that enhances the concept of cultural identity through artists adopting it. 2-The media appeared as a reference that carries data from which the artist draws his cultural and historical topics, as well as daily events.

The article opens a special issue of the journal “Historical Ethnology”, dedicated to the Tatar woman. Its authors, who acted as compilers and scientific editors of the issue, substantiate the research focus, chronology and source base of the published materials. The emphasis on Tatar women as an object of a special study is explained by their active social and professional stand during the period of the Russian Empire and the USSR. The coverage of these two historical periods made it possible to identify the ethnospecific logic of integrating Tatar women into large-scale political and social phenomena. The bulk of the articles included in the issue are accompanied by the publication of materials from state archives, ego-documents, literary works, articles from Tatar newspapers and magazines of the pre-revolutionary period, inaccessible to most researchers. Their introduction into scientific circulation, according to the authors of the introductory article, strengthens the possibilities of a diachronic approach to the analysis of the ethnosocial field from a historical perspective. Giving a brief overview of the articles in the issue, the authors of the introduction come to the conclusion that in the era of bourgeois reforms, along with the traditional care for family and children for women, her role in the society is strengthening; her desire for education and educational activities is intensifying. With the advent of the Soviet system, which proclaimed gender equality of the sexes, the burden on women increases both in their personal life and in the public sphere. At the same time, Tatar women retain their most important purpose – educating and bringing up the younger generation.

The article describes the possibilities of applying artificial intelligence systems used in a number of tasks arising in the course of law enforcement activities and also beyond them. The author gives examples of solving identification, prediction, and detection problems that are successfully solved using such systems. Based on the analysis of the principles of the construction and functioning of the neural network, which forms the basis of artificial intelligence, as an abstract model created to solve a specific problem, the capabilities of neural networks as a whole are revealed, and thus the features of working with them are demonstrated. The procedure and principles of operation of convolutional neural networks are described and, using their example, the results that can be achieved during forensic handwriting and technical forensic examinations of documents, as well as studies conducted within the framework of forensic expert activities, in particular, the identification of signs of technical forgery of documents (installation, erasure, additions, finishing) are indicated, establishing the facts of the execution of several signatures or handwritten records by one or different performers, establishing the original content of the records, fragments of which have been partially lost or distorted. The prospects and significance of convolutional neural networks are revealed, the use of which in the expert research process makes it possible to increase the scientific validity and objectivity of the conclusions of forensic examination and, thereby, creates prerequisites for increasing its role in proving facts of importance.

This article examines the processes of subjectification involving community health workers in the Peruvian Andes. Community health worker programmes keep education at the core, striving to provide marginalized people with information about mother-and-child health, family planning, nutrition, and illness prevention, among other things. Education is one of the arenas where Foucauldian themes of subjectification are most explicit (Kipnis 2011). However, the subjectivities such development programmes seek to produce by training and monitoring those involved are not necessarily those that emerge. In studies of health policies and their implementation in targeted areas, the focus tends to be on how governmentality discourses and techniques produce responsible and governable subjects. However, little attention has been paid to understanding the processes of subjectification and how they are interpreted and enacted by the targeted subjects (Winkler-Reid 2017). This article aims to illuminate how community health workers use their embodied understanding of school literacy and aesthetics to engage with specific community health-related tasks. It argues that aesthetics is a central part of the formation of subjectivity and that expectations of aesthetic qualities similar to those of classroom situations contribute to accentuating the community health workers becoming ‘good students’. In this specific setting, being evaluated as a ‘good student’ receives more emphasis than other goals of the community health worker programme, such as providing easier access to health care services for their fellow community members. As people, particularly those ageing and living with disabilities, struggle with how care is enacted, integrated care has gained policy purchase in the United Kingdom. Despite integration's apparent popularity, its contribution to improved care for people has been questioned, exposing uncertainties about its associated benefits. Nonetheless, over decades a remarkably consistent approach to integrated care has advanced partnerships between the NHS and local government. Accordingly, in 2014 the Scottish Government mandated Health and Social Care Integration (HSCI) via the Scottish Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act. Emerging from an interorganisational ethnography of the implementation of a Health and Social Care Partnership in 2016, in a place I call 'Kintra', I interrogated what happened when NHS Kintra and Kintra Council endeavoured to implement HSCI according to the precepts of 'the Act'. Immersed in the everyday arrangements in the spaces of governance, I attended to how these policy actors worked to both (re)configure and held things together behind care frontiers, and away from the bodywork of direct care. I charted their efforts to comply with regulations, plan, and build governance apparatuses through documents. In following documents, I show the ways in which HSCI was materialised through documentation. I reveal how, in the mundane mattering of document manufacturing, possibilities for (re)forming the carescape emerged. I deploy a posthuman practice stance to show not only the way in which 'papery' partnerships between the NHS and local government 'enact' care, but also how they make worlds through a sociomaterial politics of anticipation. The art of painting has played a significant role throughout history in documenting social and cultural events. This art form goes beyond written and visual documents, offering viewers both an aesthetic experience and a vivid record of historical events and social changes. Throughout history, artists sometimes affiliated with religious or political institutions, and sometimes independent artists, have created significant documents even without the intent to produce documentary works. Many aspects of social and political events, conditions, and cultural elements of human life were documented through these paintings before the advent of photography and cinema. The concept of documentary painting entered the literature in the 1900s. From the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkiye, documentary-quality paintings have held an important place in the art history of this region and have contributed to shaping collective memory. This study examines the development of documentary painting from the Ottoman period to the present and highlights its importance in the historical and cultural context in Turkey. The Prague Rules has been presented as civil law's rules on the taking of evidence in international arbitration. It has been defended that the Prague Rules are a disruptive alternative regarding the IBA Rules. The aim of this paper is check if the Prague Rules are part of civil law. To do this, we will compare the Prague Rules with the Spanish Civil Procedure Act, the Spanish Arbitration Act, the Code of Best Practices in Arbitration of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club, and the IBA Rules. The aim is to examine the documents about the arrest of V. and M. Zakrevskyi and S. de Balmen in 1848. Achieving the goal involves performing the following tasks: to define the history of the study of the topic “mochymordy” and T. Shevchenko; establish a storage place (archive) for two investigative files of poet friends; analyze the documents involving the writer (the interrogation protocols of the arrested, description of seized Shevchenkiana); emphasize the importance of documents in studying the life and work of T. Shevchenko; disclose the investigation into the participation military in the ball of T. Volkhovska and the consequences of the events in Moisіvka for them. Archival primary sources were reviewed using general Scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, description, generalization), historical-literary, textological, and source studies (historical-genetic, biographical, cultural-historical, comparative, heuristic, critical). Scientific novelty and the results. The discovered materials deepen the biographies of Shevchenko’s friends: there is information about the birth, education, character, detailed descriptions of the military career and legacy of V. and M. Zakrevskyi. From the biography of M. Zakrevskyi, it became known that he, as a soldier of the imperial army, took part in the subjugation of the Caucasian peoples, and probably it was his memories that T. Shevchenko used when writing the poem “The Caucasus”. The only known letter of the writer S. Zakrevska from 10 July 1848 is valuable for literary studies. In particular, it tells about the cholera pandemic of 1848 and Ukrainian nature. The appearance of V. Zakrevskyі is described too. His verbal portrait corresponds to a pencil drawing by T. Shevchenko, the accuracy of which was debated in the last century. Provided at the request of the gendarmes, they are nevertheless not devoid of essential details and sincerity. A review of the poem “The Tryzna”, which was written at the request of the 3rd Department, was published for the first time. The edition of this poem (1844), along with several of Shevchenko’s letters, was seized from V. Zakrevskyі. It has been established that the third part of the documents reveals the participation of the military in T. Volkhovska’s banquet. The events in Moіsivka influenced the conclusion about the behavior of the hussars during their inspection in the spring of 1848 and led to the transfer of several Polish officers to other regiments. The published primary sources can be used in the preparation of a new academic biography of T. Shevchenko, during the compiling of the compendium of Shevchenko’s documents, for commenting on his works, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For any criminal prosecution officer, the crime scene investigation is one of the most important criminal prosecution actions and in most cases, it is also the starting point of investigations. Here, the traces left by the offender can be discovered, they can be visible or less visible, left due to negligence, haste, fear or on purpose. The traces, waiting to be discovered, form a significant part of the object of the forensic investigation. Being created in the environment through the actions of those involved in the commission of the offense, the traces contain a lot of information, including individual features of the perpetrator, and in turn are waiting to be discovered for the identification of the last. A hasty decision, a wrong step is able to compromise the deciphering of the crime scene and consequently the identification of the perpetrator. There is no such thing as a perfect crime, and in this initial work, the experience and knowledge of the criminal prosecution officer are essential to help him search, have a broad view and best understand the information he has already obtained. The city of Lahore, Pakistan inherited a colonial land bureaucracy in which land is owned according 'rights in land' rather than 'rights to land'. Unlike the absolute ownership provided by state-backed titles, rights in land is merely a presumption of ownership until proven otherwise, creating a permanent gap between ownership and property. These gaps are investigated by patwaris, or lower-level bureaucrats who confirm rights in land before property is sold. Against the backdrop of Pakistan's booming real estate market, however, land has become Lahore's most profitable financial asset, and the gap between ownership and property is increasingly exploited to wrangle control over land from others. In this context, 'fraud' has become a constant point of concern for both patwaris and residents, each of whom use fraud at various times to negotiate Lahore's colonial-era bureaucracy with the present-day demands of living in the city. In this article, I argue that fraud mediates property relations in Lahore. In the city, all property is potentially fraudulent, and all fraud can potentially become property. Rather than a fixed relationship between ownership and property, Lahore's land bureaucracy is characterized by continuously unfolding property relations as new loops of fraud are opened and old ones close. This paper discusses historical sources that testify to Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini's contacts with present Slovenian territory. He already became well acquainted with the area in his role as secretary to Emperor Frederick III, then especially as Bishop of Trieste in 1447-1450, and finally as Pope Pius II, who confirmed the establishment of the Ljubljana diocese in 1463. The research focuses mainly on the period of his episcopacy in Trieste and investigates several new, hitherto unpublished documents (letters, documents) from this period. The article analyzes the experience of scientific research of some Ukrainian scientists in the issues of ensuring the housing rights of citizens and legal constructions of ensuring the housing rights of citizens in the conditions of armed aggression of the russian federation, as well as the issue of implementing the housing rights of forced migrants in Ukraine. The number of information messages about damaged or destroyed housing as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation from citizens of Ukraine through the Ukrainian electronic service of public services «Diya» was considered, as well as the most affected regions were determined. The possibility of Ukrainian citizens who have suffered from military aggression to appeal to the European Court, which acts on the basis of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the controversial issues of receiving compensation in the event of such appeals have been revealed. The draft law on compensation for damage and destruction of certain categories of real estate objects as a result of hostilities, terrorist acts, sabotage caused by the military aggression of the russian federation was analyzed and the main amendments to this draft law were established. The main theses of the Law of Ukraine «On compensation for damage and destruction of certain categories of immovable property as a result of hostilities, terrorist acts, sabotage caused by the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine» and the State Register of Property Damaged and Destroyed as a result of hostilities and terrorist acts were studied, sabotage, the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, and the main methods, process and conditions of receiving compensation have been updated. The main issues of preparing documents for receiving compensation for real estate destroyed as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation have been determined. Problematic issues of compensation for the destruction of non-residential real estate of enterprises are analyzed. The need to support enterprises in matters of compensation for destroyed or damaged non-residential real estate, as business entities and their role in supporting the state economy, is substantiated. Construction companies do not differ much in methods of effective management and organization of work, in the evidence of services, how they control processes optimized through clear rules. Therefore, a well-organized digital management system is needed. OCP is a web application for the realization of work services for construction companies, in the System of Managing Offers, Contracts and Payments, uses template in textual form clauses in order to act systematically to standardize their own workflow in a central place, automates until their execution. The web application is in Albanian language, while documents are printed in Albanian and Macedonian languages, helps to consistently realize the services of the construction company to the client in three phases: The Offer created and is only issued by the company and given to the client, has written containment for the services it offers, such as cost and other details. The Contract contains a lot of information is the second phase when client and construction company agree on the way of project implementation such as cost, term of realization, payment deadline, third intermediary etc. Payment is the document that includes the deadline and the payment of the project implementation, additional payments for works carried out of the agreement. The three completed documents have a unique identification number, title and containment of the document, with clear attributes to which client they belong, the employees who are issuing the document and the data of the company that carries out the project. A summary of reports in the form of a table for all processes carried out from the beginning to the end of the process, as well as the printing of reports by filtering them by client, periods between dates. System users have two privileges, Admin Staff having full access to the entire system while the user Staff with limited access can only create offers but not contracts and payments. In terms of security, soft-delete techniques are used for deletion of data, this allows you to mark some records as deleted without actual deletion from the database, Effectively, you prevent the selection of a soft-delete record, while all old records can still be referred to. Therefore, this particular menu article has systemic management of Offers, Contracts and Payments because they contain periods of time between them from the beginning of projects to the realization. Abstract This article aims to shed light on the formal and official paths through which researchers seek to obtain authorisation to conduct our research, particularly in state offices. Thus, I begin from the conviction that letters, certificates, academic transcripts, and research projects, together with their subsequent circulation within various sectors at the Instituto Médico Legal [Medical Examiner’s Office], São Paulo, Brazil, are excellent sites of analysis precisely because they reveal the different management and government strategies put into operation both by researchers and by those who, as designated authorities, form the employees of these bodies. Artifices made of paper that, on the one hand, forge and convey an idea and an image that is projected and recurrently reaffirmed of what the state is. While on the other, they enable us to provide ethnographic nuances to the ‘common condition of state subjects’ in which all of us are immersed, by force or desire.
