The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between cybervictimization in social networks, problematic smartphone use, aggressive behaviors, and prosocial altruistic tendencies in young adults. The sample consisted of 601 young adults (mean age = 19.96 years; SD = 2.27; 69.1% female) who were administered online assessments of experiences of humiliation on networks, problematic smartphone use, prosocial altruistic tendencies, and aggressiveness. Results indicated significant indirect effects of cyber victimization on aggressiveness and prosocial altruistic tendencies through problematic smartphone use. Problematic cell phone use explained the relationships between online humiliation and aggressive and prosocial altruistic behaviors. The results confirmed the positive relationship between cybervictimization and problematic cell phone use, consistent with previous research. However, the negative relationship between cybervictimization and altruistic prosocial tendencies was not corroborated. The findings emphasize the need to promote actions that foster social connectedness and interdependence among young individuals to develop their identity within the community.

To examine the effects of exposure to dating violence and cyber victimization of female university students on resilience and happiness levels. The data of this descriptive and correlational study were obtained from 400 female students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing between December 2021 and April 2022 via a personal information form, the Cyber Victim Scale (CVS), the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), and the Oxford Happiness Inventory – Brief Form (OHI). In data analysis, Independent Samples t- Test, Pearson Correlation, and Linear Regression analysis were used together with descriptive statistics. Of the students, 6.5 % were exposed to physical, 8.3 % to economic, 9.8 % to sexual, 28.8 % to verbal, and 53.8 % to emotional dating violence. A significant difference was found between students' exposure to verbal (p = 0.013) dating violence and their resilience. A significant difference was also found between students' exposure to verbal and sexual (p = 0.04) dating violence and their happiness. There was a significant, negative, poor correlation between the mean of the female students' CVS scores and the BRS (r = −0.178, p < 0.001) and OHI scores (r = −0.247, p < 0.001). It was concluded that cyber victimization is a risk factor for resilience and happiness of the female university students. Early detection of dating violence and cyber victimization among university students is important in combating violence. In addition, considering that cyber victimization affects the level of psychological resilience and happiness, students' awareness of cyber victimization should be increased in the fight against cyber victimization to increase the mental health of young people. • It was determined that female students were most exposed to emotional violence, followed by verbal, sexual, economic and physical violence, respectively. • Psychological resilience and happiness levels were lower in young women who were exposed to verbal dating violence. • Cyber victimization was a risk factor for psychological resilience and happiness levels of young women. • It is important to evaluate dating violence and cyber victimization in young women for combating violence. BACKGROUND: The ubiquitous use of social media places adolescents at high risk for cyberincivility (disrespectful, insensitive, or disruptive online behaviors). Adolescents who experience cyberincivility can have mental health issues including depression and suicidal ideation. However, no reviews synthesized findings from qualitative studies on cyberincivility among adolescents, which was the aim of this review. METHODS: Eleven articles were extracted from MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, ERIC, and Education Full Text. Study qualities were assessed using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. A meta‐ethnographic framework guided the thematic analysis. RESULTS: Five themes were identified: forms of cyberincivility, platforms used for cyberincivility, perceptions and understanding of cyberincivility, adverse impact on health, and perceptions of seeking support. Social media was often used for cyberincivility, and common forms of cyberincivility included impersonation, aggressive verbal behaviors, and social exclusion. Adolescents perceived cyberincivility as persistent and relentless, with severe health impacts including depression, but they hesitate to seek support. CONCLUSIONS: Considering the negative impact of cyberincivility on adolescents' physical and mental well‐being, it is important to develop anti‐cyberincivility programs in schools. Schools have opportunities to efficiently reach both perpetrators and victims of cyberincivility with anti‐cyberincivility programs rooted in trust building and engagement from family, community, and peers. Results: The prevalence of cyberbullying, social media addiction, depression, anxiety, and stress among participants was 27.5% (95% CI: 23.4%-31.9%), 32.1% (95% CI: 27.8%-36.7%), 37.6% (95% CI: 33.1%-42.2%), 41.9% (95% CI: 37.3%-46.6%), and 46.2% (95% CI: 41.6%-50.9%), respectively. Factors associated with increased risk of being a cyber victim included older age, female gender, later years of study, increased daily mobile and social media usage, social media as the preferred mobile usage, and social media addiction. Factors associated with being a cyberbully were similar, except for the male gender. Both cyber victimization and social media addiction were significantly associated with higher odds of depression [aOR-2.5 (1.6-3.9) and 2.1 (1.4-3.2)], anxiety [aOR-2.2 (1.4-3.4) and 1.9 (1.3-2.8)] and stress [aOR-2.8 (1.8-4.3) and 2.4 (1.6-3.6)]. Conclusions: Cyberbullying, social media addiction, and mental health issues are prevalent among medical students. Targeted interventions addressing excessive social media use, promoting responsible online behaviour, and supporting mental well-being are crucial for this population. Taking a socio-ecological theoretical perspective, the present study (1) examined the concurrent and longitudinal associations between offline, cyber, and ethnic victimization, and (2) investigated whether the same or different intra- and interpersonal variables are longitudinal risk or protective factors. A three-wave longitudinal study including 630 adolescents (50% boys, 12.52 years at wave 1, 7% first and 14% second generation immigrant) was utilized. Cross lagged panel models showed that neither offline victimization nor cyber victimization predicted ethnic victimization longitudinally. Positive peer relations, good class climate, high levels of school bonding, high levels of school motivation and high levels of self-efficacy at the beginning of grade 7 were protective factors for low levels of ethnic, cyber, and offline victimization at the end of grade 7. However, only high levels of ethnic victimization at the beginning of grade 7 were also risk factors for low levels of positive peer relations, school bonding and school motivation at the end of grade 7. Ethnic victimization at the end of grade 8 could not be predicted prospectively. Considering its unique negative consequences within grade 7, it is important to give ethnic victimization a special attention in anti-bullying programs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current study explored adolescents' experiences with bystander intervention in cyberbullying situations. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study investigated the utility of using the five-step bystander intervention model (notice, interpret as an emergency, accept responsibility to intervene, know how to help, act) to the cyberbullying context. Adolescents also provided responses regarding the intervention actions that they have taken when they have observed cyberbullying. A racially diverse sample of 839 adolescents from a single school completed three surveys and open-ended questions. Path analysis for quantitative analyses suggests the five-step bystander intervention model seems to be a useful framework for exploring the discrete steps leading to cyberbullying intervention. In addition, experience as a victim or perpetrator of traditional bullying or cyberbullying was not strongly related to the five steps of the model. Using thematic analyses for qualitative analyses, results suggest that adolescents engage in a wide variety of intervention actions, with the majority being prosocial in nature, except when youth "bully the bully back." Purpose - This study aims to examine the role and impact of social work in fighting cybercrime, to emphasize its importance, and to target its effective use. In addition, the study aims to reveal how social work can contribute to the areas such as increasing the security of the society, providing assistance to the victims, rehabilitating the cybercrime perpetrators, and preventing cybercrimes. Methodology/Approach/Design - In the study; data obtained from sources such as the Ministry of Interior, FBI and ITU were used. Issues such as the definition, types, effects, prevention, and rehabilitation of cybercrimes are discussed. The duties, responsibilities and practices of social work related to cybercrimes are also examined. Findings - The results of the study show that legal and technical measures alone are not sufficient in fighting cybercrime, and that there is a need for a human-centered and holistic approach such as social work. Social work should undertake tasks such as understanding the causes, effects, and consequences of cybercrime, creating awareness and consciousness against cybercrime, providing psychosocial support to cybercrime victims, providing education, and counselling to cybercrime perpetrators, and developing policies and programs for preventing cybercrime. Originality/Value - This study aims to contribute to the scientific accumulation in the field of social work related to cybercrime. In addition, this study reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the social work discipline related to cybercrime, the methodological and ethical problems, the research gaps, and the suggestions for future studies. Furthermore, this study promotes collaboration and coordination among social workers, researchers, policy makers, and other relevant stakeholders by putting a multidisciplinary perspective in fighting cybercrime. Although cyber victimization has been suggested as a significant risk factor for the development of adolescents' depression, the underlying psychopathological process that mediates this relationship needs further exploration. Based on the psychological inflexibility model, this study aimed to examine cognitive fusion and experiential avoidance as serial mediators in the relation between cyber victimization and depression. A total of 556 Chinese adolescents completed a set of online self-report questionnaires measuring cyber victimization, cognitive fusion, experiential avoidance, and depression. A bias-corrected bootstrap approach was used to test the serial mediation model. The results showed that cyber victimization predicted adolescents' depression not only directly but also indirectly through three paths: the mediating role of (1) cognitive fusion and (2) experiential avoidance, and (3) the serial mediating role of cognitive fusion and experiential avoidance. Development in the field of information technologies in the last few decades has led to significant changes in the daily lives of citizens, the functioning of the economy, government bodies and society as a whole. Information technologies have enabled unimaginable possibilities in terms of social development. However, this field is not immune to increasingly numerous dangerous intentional or unintentional abuses. This imposes the need to raise awareness, knowledge and skills to protect yourself and others in this field. The security culture as a concept that integrates issues of solving the problem of endangering information security plays a significant role in this. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the connection between security culture and information technologies, as a cultural asset of modern society, especially the security culture of information technology users. The paper aims to establish a theoretical framework on the role and importance of security culture. Also, the aim is to give a set of “golden” rules of security culture in information technologies, the adoption of which will increase the possibility of preventing victimization of information technology users.

Purpose: Cyberbullying has attracted the world's attention, and therefore researchers across the world have contributed to the literature on cyberbullying and mental health. Amongst others, they have conducted bibliometric analyses and associated cyberbullying with various factors but have not determined the impact of cyberbullying on people's mental health. Hence, the aim of this study was to conduct bibliometric analyses of cyberbullying and mental health to analyze the academic performance of the literature on impact of cyberbullying on people's mental health; and to propose future research avenues to make further contributions to this field of study. Methodology: Spreadsheets and VOSviewer were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis. The data were extracted fromthe SCOPUS database which provided an extensive collection of data and journals. Findings: Having explored the top active countries publishing on the impact of cyberbullying on people's mental health and the academic performance of such research articles by means of a qualitative bibliometric analysis, the results revealed that this research topic is still to be researched extensively. The study also suggests countries/regions where this research topic can be explored further, as well as possible journals for publication of research results, and further studies to be conducted. Discussion: The literature presents a fragmented view on the impact of cyberbullying on people's mental health. Studies on cyberbullying are limited for the reasons as discussed in this article. Hence, bibliometric analysis was conducted to analyze the performance of academic literature on the impact of cyberbullying on people's mental health; the academic performance of research articles on cyberbullying and mental health; and to make proposals toward a future research agenda. Research consistently documents negative consequences for children who are cyber victims, underscoring the need to examine effective management. Disclosure to friends about cyber victimization is advocated; however, research is limited. The present research examined willingness to disclose to friends about being cyber victimized for fourth graders and evaluated the subsequent frequency of cyber victimization when in grade 5 (N = 207). Three groups in Grade 4 were identified: No Victimization, Victimization/No Tell, and Victimization/Tell. Children in the Victimization/Tell group reported a significantly lower frequency of cyber victimization a year later. The Victimization/No Tell group of children did not report a statistically reduced frequency of cyber victimization. The number of classroom mutual friends was ruled out as an explanation. This research supports the use of a strategy for children confiding with friends to reduce subsequent cyber victimization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Our study examined the relationship between purpose of social media use, perceived social support, and cyberbullying among adolescent girls with or without major depressive disorder (MDD). Patients and Methods: Fifty-two adolescent girls aged 13-18 years with a diagnosis of MDD were recruited. The control group consisted of 51 adolescents who were matched for age and gender. The adolescents completed a sociodemographic form, the Childhood Depression Inventory (CDI), the Social Media Attitude Scale (SMAS), the Cyberbullying Scale (CBS), and the Social Support Appraisal Scale for Children (SSAS). Results: Social media use was significantly higher among adolescent girls with MDD (P<0.001). They had significantly higher social isolation (P=0.006) and cyberbullying scores (P=0.013). They used more social media for social skills (P<0.001) and their perceptions of social support levels were lower than adolescents without MDD (P<0.001). Cyberbullying was inversely related to perceived social support (P=0.015) and positively related to social media use for social competence (P=0.004) (e.g., satisfying the need for esteem). Conclusion: This study suggests that increases in social competence problems and decreases in perceived social support were associated with being a victim of cyberbullying. In depressed adolescents, cyberbullying can be prevented by interventions aimed at promoting social competence and obtaining sufficient support. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cyberbullying has a profound negative impact on the psychological health of individuals. This study examined the mediating effects of empathy and resilience in the relationship between cyberbullying and cyber victimization. Data were collected from 506 undergraduate students (53,7% female and 46,3% male) with a mean of 20.57 years (SD = 1.72). Cyberbullying and Victimization Scale (CVS), Brief resilience scale (BRS), and Toronto Empathy Scale (TES) were utilized to collect the data cross-sectionally. Results showed that cyberbullying had a significant direct effect on cyber victimization, resilience, and empathy. Resilience and empathy also had significant effects on cyber victimization. Mediation analysis indicated that resilience and empathy mediated the relationship between cyberbullying and cyber victimization. These results improve our understanding of the underlying mechanism between cyberbullying and cyber victimization by considering the roles of psychological resources. Prevention and intervention programs can be tailored to cultivate resilience and empathy to mitigate the impact of cyberbullying on cyber victimization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pandemics, a current and important public health problem, can increase the risk of cyberbullying. Especially in adolescence, knowledge about coping with this type of victimization is limited. This study aimed to reveal the cyberbullying victimization experiences of adolescents with the increased digitalization during the pandemic and the coping strategies they employed. The study is a descriptive and cross‐sectional study. The research sample consists of adolescents (n = 344). The data were collected online using Personal Information Form, Cyber Victim Scale, and Coping with Cyberbullying Scale. The mean Cyber Victim Scale score of the adolescents was 21.97 ± 5.83, and the mean Coping with Cyberbullying Scale score was 63.33 ± 9.06. It was found that the increase in the frequency of Internet use, the change in the purpose of Internet use during the pandemic, and the sharing of the negative experiences with others negatively affect cyber victimization (p < 0.05). In today's world where digitalization is increasing, it is recommended to provide interdisciplinary trainings to adolescents, to include families in various trainings with school–family cooperation, and to receive support from nurses in this process. The purpose of this research is to analyse the dimensions of impersonalization, verbal, sexual and visual aggression in the field of cyber aggression in young people (CAY). In addition to verbal, visual cyber victimization, online exclusion or impersonation in cyber victimization in young people (CVY). The aim of the study was to find out sociodemographic factors and habits involved in cyber aggression and cyber victimization in young people in school aged 14-17 years. The research method was a quasi-experimental descriptive, correlational and predictive study based on a quantitative method. Data were obtained in 2022 through two validated questionnaires, one to measure CAY and the other CVY. A total of 472 young people participated in the sample, of whom 199 were boys and 273 girls, all of them from the autonomous city of Ceuta (Spain) aged between 14 and 17. The most relevant results of the study showed low predictive levels in relation to CVY dimensions, in relation to immigration background, number of siblings and grade repetition, and in relation to CAY in terms of grade repetition. These results, together with the discussion of the study, can contribute data to the educational and psychological field to implement intervention and prevention plans in relation to inappropriate use of the Internet by young people. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the perceptions of Generation Y individuals in Turkey regarding cyberbullying, cyber victimization, and cyberbullying awareness. Simultaneously, the aim is to understand the variation in individuals’ awareness of cyberbullying and cyber victimization issues based on different demographic factors. Among these demographic factors are gender, age, socioeconomic status, daily internet usage duration, purpose of internet usage, social media habits, family structure, and educational level. In the research, 244 participants were administered the “Personal Information Form”, “Revised Cyberbullying Inventory”, “Cyber Victimization Inventory” and “Cyberbullying Sensitivity Scale” questionnaires. The research findings were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 27 software and interpreted. The obtained results indicate a positive and low-level correlation between cyberbullying awareness and exposure to cyberbullying, and a positive and moderate-level correlation between engaging in cyberbullying and being exposed to cyberbullying. While participants’ cyberbullying behaviors vary depending on factors such as gender, age, and father’s education level, their experiences of virtual victimization show diversity based on factors like age, mother’s education level, father’s education level, and the number of owned social networks. One of the most fundamental problems many students face in school is bullying. This form of harassment, known as cyberbullying, has emerged as the use of the internet and other digital media has increased in recent years. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of secondary school students' cyberbullying and cyber victimization experiences, to see if there is a correlation between cyberbullying and cyber victimization, and to explore how students' cyberbullying or cyber victim status influences their cyber victim or cyberbullying behavior. Unlike experimental studies, which use manipulation and random assignment of participants and conditions, the study employed a causal-comparative research design, in which the researcher investigates the causes and consequences of differences between groups. The sample group of the study consists of 286 secondary school students in the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades who were recruited using the typical case sampling method, which is one of the purposive sampling methods. The data were collected via the scales of cyberbullying and cyber victimization. According to the findings, cyberbullying is significantly and positively influenced by cyber victimization. Instead of looking at cyberbullying in isolation, it was suggested that a more effective approach to solving the problem would be to integrate cyberbullying and cyber victimization holistically. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de bir devlet üniversitenin İşletme Fakültesi ve Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksekokulunda öğrenci olan genç kadınların siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet düzeylerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Tanımlayıcı tipte olan araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir üniversitede 15 Ekim-1 Aralık 2022 tarihleri arasında öğrenim gören 450 kız öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında “Tanımlayıcı Anket Formu” ve “Üniversite Öğrencileri için Yenilenmiş Siber Zorbalık Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında öğrencilerin siber mağduriyet düzeyleri, siber zorbalık düzeylerinden yüksek olarak gözlenmiştir. Siber zorbalık ölçeği ve siber mağduriyet ölçeği arasındaki ilişki anlamlı bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin internet kullanım amacı, sosyal ağ hesabı bulunması gibi değişkenlerin siber zorbalık düzeylerini anlamlı şekilde etkilediği saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin baba eğitim düzeyi, internet kullanım amacı, sosyal ağ hesabı bulunması gibi değişkenlerin ise siber mağduriyet düzeylerini anlamlı ölçüde etkilediği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Abstract Background With the rapid advancement and revolutionization of information and communication technologies, adolescents and young adults use smartphones, the internet, and social networking services more frequently, as a result, the problem of cyber-bullying sharply increases, and eventually it causes psychological issues and negative thoughts in the victims. Personal experiences with cyber victimization among adolescents have been consistently associated with well-being problems. Few studies have examined the impact of witnessing cyber victimization on adolescent well-being. The current study examines adolescents' personal and witnessed experiences with cyber victimization during the beginning stages of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The main aim of the study is to test whether witnessing cyber victimization incidents among peers strengthens or weakens the association between personal cyber victimization incidents and adolescents' feelings of anxiety. Adolescents from the United States were recruited via social media site advertisements. An online survey was completed by 992 adolescents (Mage = 16.09, SD = 1.24) from ethnically diverse backgrounds (49% White, 18% Asian/Asian-American, 14% Latinx, 9% Black/African-American, and 10% Other). The key results revealed a significant moderating role of witnessed cyber victimization incidents. Among adolescents who witnessed low levels of cyberbullying, the more they were personally cyber victimized, the higher their levels of anxiety. However, for adolescents who witnessed higher levels of cyberbullying incidents, the association between personal cyber victimization and anxiety was not significant. The findings suggest that adolescents who personally experience cyber victimization may feel less alone in their plight and thus, less anxious if they also witness others being targeted online. This study aims to determine the factors that may affect the relationship between the level of cyber victims' use of social networks and psychological resilience. 420 Turkish adolescents between the ages of 14 and 19 participated in the study, with 56% representing male students and 44% representing females (Mage = 15.57, SD = 1.43). The data collection tools used in this study include the Cyber-Victimization Scale, the Scale of the Goals of Using Social Media, the Active Coping Scale, Child, and Youth Resilience Measure, and the Cyberbullying Coping Questionnaire for Adolescents. We used SPSS 22 and AMOS 22 for statistical analysis. This study indicates that there are statistically significant positive relations between the variables of using social networking sites, resilience, and active coping and coping with cyberbullying. The study findings show that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the level of use of social networking sites by cyberbullying victims and resilience. Moreover, it is clear that active coping and coping with cyber-bullying respectively have a mediating effect on the positive relationship between the level of using social networking sites and resilience. These findings provide new evidence on how the use of social networking sites by adolescents experiencing cyber victimization affects resilience and provide important information to increase resilience. Students who are abused in various ways are at a higher risk for psychological problems such as depression and suicidal ideation. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate the mediating role of psychological problems and perceived social support in the relationship between cyber victimization and suicidal behavior. The participants in this cross‐sectional study were 250 adolescents, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth‐grade students (aged 13–18 years) in Bushehr, Iran. The instruments used to collect the data were the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale‐21 (DASS‐21), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Suicide Behaviors Questionnaire‐Revised (SBQ‐R), and Cyberbullying/Victimization Experiences Questionnaire. SPSS‐25 and AMOS‐24 software were used for data analysis. The indirect and negative effects of perceived social support showed that support (from family members and significant others) is associated with reduced suicidal behavior in students experiencing cyber victimization. Moreover, the indirect and positive effects of psychological problems showed that cyber victimization increases the risk of students experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, and may lead to increased suicidal behavior in them. The experience of cyberbullying victimization in students is associated with their suicidal behavior. These students need treatment through psycho‐educational interventions or even psychotherapy in some cases. The power and value of technology in the information age has been effective in the spread of technology and its use at younger ages. Adolescents are in the risk group in terms of the negative consequences of technology. Today, bullying that has moved to the virtual environment has brought cyber victimization. In order to examine the relationship between the parental internet attitudes of secondary school students and their cyber victimization, 684 secondary school students studying in the city center of Konya (Türkiye) participated in the research in the 2020- 2021 academic year. "Cyber Victimization" and "Parental Internet Attitude" questionnaires and "Demographic Information Form" were used to collect the data. It was seen that the most perceived parental internet attitude was the authoritative one and the perceived parental internet attitude of the students who experienced the most victimization was the laissez-faire attitude. According to the participating middle school students, parental internet attitudes differ respecting gender, grade level, education level of parents and school type. It was observed that there was no difference as regards the grade point average. It was also determined that students' cyber victimization is at a low level, and cyber victimization differs according to class level and education level of mother and father. It was found out that there was no difference according to gender, grade point average and school type. More and more attention is being paid to the prevalence of technology in everyday life. The rise of digital means of communication naturally leads to increased cyber victimization, including various forms of online aggression and victimization. Limited knowledge exists regarding the potential vulnerability of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders to cyber activities. The objective of this research is to comprehensively review and synthesize existing literature on cybervictimization and cyberaggression, with a specific focus on individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly those with ADHD. We conducted a systematic review of studies investigating the relationship between neurodevelopmental disorders and cybervictimization/cyberaggression. An analysis of the reviewed studies suggests that factors such as impulsivity, heightened frustration, and poor social skills may elevate the risk of cybervictimization/cyberaggression among individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Overall, we aim to emphasize the significance of future research in understanding the association between neurodevelopmental disorders and cybervictimization/cyberaggression, thereby enhancing our understanding of the risk factors and consequences associated with these detrimental phenomena. Introduction: In recent years, with the change in people’s lifestyles and the advent of technology, the method of bullying has changed. In the 21st century, bullies use new methods to harass their former peers. This type of bullying is bullying behaviours through electronic and digital media. In addition, its main feature is the lack of dependence on face-to-face communication between the victim and the bully. According to statistics, this problem has affected more than 32% of teens worldwide since 2007. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional analytical study examining cyberbullying and victimization rates in adolescents aged 12 to 18. In this study, 254 children of working parents and clients referred to Shafa Educational and Medical Center of Guilan University of Medical Sciences were evaluated by a CBVEQ questionnaire (during 2021). Results: The scores from the factors of victimization and cyberbullying in this study were obtained. They showed that the average score of adolescents was 22.79 in the context of cyber victimization. Moreover, the score was 20.27 in the context of cyberbullying. Besides, Boys were more likely than girls to be victims of cyberbullying. The rate of cyberbullying in adolescents aged 15 to 18 was higher than the younger ages. Furthermore, the lower the parents’ educational level, the rate of cyberbullying and victimization increased in adolescents. Conclusion: The findings of this study and a recent study about the extent of cyberbullying and victimization among teenagers suggest that preventive strategies and interventions of parents and schools are needed.

This research aims to examine behavioral reactions that victims display against cyberbullying through a cross-cultural comparison standpoint. The research data have been collected from 161 participants from different countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Syria; and all of them continue their undergraduate studies in Turkey. Some of the noteworthy findings are as follows: revenge behaviors adopted by victims of cyber-bullying differ at a statistically significant level across the gender variable. On the other hand, reactions such as precautions, dialogue, and avoidance do not vary significantly across genders. Comparisons among nationalities indicate that seeking vengeance from the bully, looking for ways to build dialogue with the bully, and avoiding behaviors employed by victims from different cultures also differ at a statistically significant level. However, one reaction, precautions, does not bear a statistically significant variance value across different nationalities. Based on the findings of the current study, strategies to overcome cyber aggression can be associated with cultural aspects.

As computer access and use continue to expand for increasingly younger children, online social settings will continue to provide a prominent platform for children to experience victimization. Of particular interest to the present research was children’s (222 children, boys = 105; girls = 117) willingness to tell a friend and willingness to tell a parent about experiences of cyber victimization (Grades 3 and 4). This self-disclosure was then examined in relation to cyber victimization a year later (Grades 4 and 5), controlling for initial levels of cyber victimization at Time 1 and cyber usage at Time 1 and Time 2. For boys, willingness to tell a friend at Time 1 about cyber victimization was associated with less cyber victimization at Time 2 than not being willing to tell a friend. For girls, willingness to tell a parent at Time 1 about cyber victimization was associated with less cyber victimization at Time 2 than not being willing to tell a parent. These findings underscore the possible importance of willingness to self-disclose as a coping strategy to reduce future incidences of cyber victimization and highlight the complexity of this strategy in terms of gender and nature of social support. To date, research has rarely addressed the association between individuals' past cyber victimization and their position taking as bystanders in offline bullying situations, much less the psychosocial mechanism underpinning that association. By applying a social-ecological diathesis–stress model, the present study marked an initial effort to examine the direct and indirect relationships between past cyber victimization and two types of offline bystander behavior—probullying and defending—considering the possible mediation effect of domain-specific self-concept and the moderation effect of teacher and peer support among children in China. Structural equation modeling and group comparison analysis were conducted in a sample of 1,706 primary and secondary school students aged 8–17 years old (M = 11.69, 44% girls). The results indicated that cyber victimization positively related to offline probullying behavior but negatively related to offline defending behavior. Emotional, behavioral and social self-concept fully mediated cyber victimization's effects on offline probullying behavior, whereas behavioral, social, and physical self-concept partially mediated those effects on offline defending behavior. Last, both teacher and peer support moderated the effects of cyber victimization and domains of self-concept on offline bystander behavior via certain paths. Findings recognize the dynamic, fluid nature of children's involvement in bullying across roles and over time. Findings also highlight the importance to differentiate the specific mediation effect of domains of self-concept and the moderation effect of teacher and peer support. Although numerous studies on cybercrime have been undertaken, very little is known about the BEC scam and its effects on economic sustainability in Nigeria. Using data collected via various methods, this study examines the implications of the BEC scam as cyber victimization on the economic infrastructure of corporate organizations in Cross River State, Nigeria. A specifically structured questionnaire and an in-depth interview with staff (n = 1087) was conducted and the data received were analyzed using descriptive statistics, logistic regression, and content analysis. Findings revealed that BEC victimization is increasing, and has adversely affected such corporate organizations as banks, telecommunications firms, and manufacturing companies. The organization one works for is an important factor in determining one's vulnerability to BEC scamming. Therefore, a multilateral cybersecurity and cyber-intelligence relationship between the various corporations and government departments is necessary for adequate protection of critical infrastructures. This multi-sectoral approach to cyber-law enforcement requires the installation of uncompromised internal physical and digital access control in order to strengthen targets. Background: With the rapid advancement and revolutionization of information and communication technologies, adolescents and young adults use smartphones, the internet, and social networking services more frequently, as a result, the problem of cyber-bullying sharply increases, and eventually it causes psychological issues and negative thoughts in the victims. This study aimed to examine the role of self-efficacy and parental communication in the relationship between cyber victimization and depression among adolescents and young adults in India. Results: Adolescents and young adults being victims of cyber-bullying [β = 0.1357, p < 0.001] and those witnessed inter-parental violence were positively [β = 0.0026, p < 0.001] correlated with depressive symptoms. Self-efficacy and parental communication were negatively related to depressive symptoms among adolescents and young adults. There was a significant positive relationship between cyber victimization [β = 0.258, p < 0.001] and depressive symptoms. Cyber victimization was positively related to self-efficacy [β = 0.043, p < 0.001] among adolescents and young adults. Self-efficacy [β= -0.150, p < 0.001] and parental communication [β=-0.261, p < 0.001] reduced depressive symptoms among the participants. Conclusions: The findings suggest that adolescents and young adults who are victims of cyber-bully may have depressive symptoms and their mental health can be improved through the enhancement of self-efficacy and increased parental communication. The Routine Activity Theory proposes that the presence of a suitable target and a motivated offender in the absence of capable guardianship predict criminal behaviors. Prior research has utilized the theory to explain varied cyber victimization in different western and eastern cultures. The purpose of this study is to test the effects of adolescents' online behaviors on cyber victimization and cyberbullying experiences from the Routine Activities Theory framework. Therefore, through this study, the paper expands upon this research to examine the cyber activities of Turkish adolescents on both cyber victimization and cyberbullying experiences. The participants were 1046 high school students between the ages of 14–18. According to the findings, Turkish adolescents' cyberbullying and victimization experiences could be predicted from their cyber activities after controlling for gender. The results revealed the role of target suitability, exposure to a motivated offender and capable guardianship on both cyber victimization and cyberbullying in a more comprehensive model based on the Routine Activities Theory. Technology advancement and increased access to the Internet have led to a social disorder called cyberbullying. This study aims to discuss the self-reported prevalence and the nature of cyberbullying among tertiary students. Learning more about the social and economic implications of this occurrence is vital. College students' perceptions of cyberbullying and the learning settings they experience there. To investigate one facet of the nuanced interaction between university students and diverse media, this literature review looks at the following studies. What possible effects might educational and social media have on college students' mental wellness and well-being? Because cyberbullying offenders break societal norms and interpersonal standards, cyberbullying can be seen as unfair and abnormal behavior. Additionally, they violate the privacy rights of those who have been victimized, who unjustly endure the negative effects of cyberbullying that endanger their mental health and ability to succeed in school. Aim:This descriptive study was conducted in order to determine the relationship between internet addiction, cyberbullying, cyber victimization and parental attitudes towards them.Materials and Methods:The sample consisted of 550 students attending the ninth grade who volunteered to participate in this study. Consent from the ethical committee, institute and the parents were obtained for this study.
