- Abstract
The prevailing administrative and managing culture of health services in Mexico is questionable. The people in charge of health systems and medical units of the 3 levels of care, also called leaders, by making decisions with little or no preparation and also weak information systems, forcefully nullify any pretensions to making better quality decisions, all of which affects both the user population, and health personnel. If these leaders are improvised, emergent or simply do not have the required preparation, they make it difficult to achieve objectives or goals or they even do not have an organizational climate that favors teamwork. Currently there is a discussion about types of leadership and their characteristics. The COVID-19 pandemic showed us that leaders face challenges and they must be prepared to make objective decisions that benefit both the worker and the population; they must be capable of facing new challenges that allow them to grow and prosper among their collaborators and consequently all the staff. There are some differences in public and private institutions, but leadership is applied in both cases with its particularities. Currently, the delivery of courses, workshops and even postgraduate degrees on issues of leadership and organizational climate provide tools to strengthen these people. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: the general objective of the study presented in this article was to describe and analyze how a highly complex hospital institution implemented the practice of home office in its operations during the pandemic. Methodology: a qualitative and exploratory approach was adopted. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews conducted with six managers of Hospital Gama and a questionnaire with multiple-choice and essay questions completed online by employees of these managers' teams. Findings: the results indicated that: (1) facilitating elements provided by the hospital, managers, and employees were applied to the migration of the work modality; (2) several challenges were identified to the new modality, the overcoming of which could foster the transformation of the hospital's culture in the medium and long term; (3) the hospital was not prepared in terms of technology and human resources for the transition process, but a set of quick actions were taken to make the migration from in-person work to home office possible; (4) the advantages indicated by the interviewees about the new modality corroborate the literature that served as the theoretical basis for this research; and (5) the level of employee engagement during the change process appears to have remained the same or increased, according to the perceptions of the research participants. Originality: presents a single case study that describes and analyzes the process of migration from in-person work to telework as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic in a reference hospital for complex operations in the city of São Paulo. SOCIAL innovation , *FOCUS groups , *SCARCITY - Abstract
This paper proposes a framework that provides an analytical tool to identify key managerial elements and concerns that can improve corporate social innovation (CSI) in organizational culture. It combines a systematic review of the literature and focus group methodologies. The main contribution is the development of a framework composed of analytical categories based on the influence of seven factors and fifteen elements identified from a systematic review of the literature. This article underlines the significant contribution that some factors may play in enabling the role of CSI in organizational culture. This type of research is necessary given the scarcity of proposals in general, and the lack of a specific integrative framework in the field of organizational culture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Resultados: A análise fatorial produziu quatro fatores, a saber: Suporte (24,5%), Objetivos (13,6%), Regras (9,7%) e Inovação (8,01%), associados ao clima e à cultura organizacional.

CORPORATE culture , *RESTAURANT personnel , *RESTAURATEURS , *FOOD industry , *RESTAURANT management , *ORGANIZATIONAL commitment - Abstract
Purpose: The objective of the article is to verify the influence of antecedents such as culture and commitment on restaurant organisational performance and assess how they can impact managerial practices. This would explain the relationship between the exogenous variables of the model, thus providing managers with a parameter for managing the dimensions of culture, commitment, and performance. Design/methodology/approach: Data were analysed using structural equation analysis (PLS-PM) and collected through a questionnaire with 45 assertions over a period of 2 months, obtaining 116 valid answers. Findings: Four hypotheses were supported: H1—Innovative culture positively influences the affective commitment of restaurant employees (Γ=0.466); H8—Supportive culture influences normative commitment (Γ=0.270); H9—Supportive culture influences continuance commitment (Γ=0.293); and H10—Affective commitment positively influences bar and restaurant performance (Γ=0.293). Managerial contributions: The model developed for this study can be used by restaurant managers to manage their employees and improve their organisational performance. Practical implications: This model’s practical implications were that it could be used to guide restaurant decisions toward performance improvement. Originality/value: The study fills a gap by proposing a managerial model that considers aspects of people management, such as culture and staff engagement, to improve the organisational performance of bars and restaurants.

The article analyzes the organizational culture in public health institutions in Chile, establishing the relationship between the organizations' cultures and their level of complexity and coverage using the Denison Organizational Culture Scale. The scale was applied to a sample of 156 workers from four institutions. The results reveal that institutions with low complexity and coverage showed higher cultural levels in all dimensions: involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission; as well as in the perspectives of flexibility/stability and internal/external focus. Alternatively, responses from workers in institutions with high coverage but different complexity did not show significant differences regarding their understanding of the organizational culture. In addition, the findings highlight the relationship between the functional characteristics associated with the complexity of health organizations and their cultural features, evidencing particular differences according to the level of coverage or intensity of demand for the services they provide, as well as perspectives of flexibility and stability according to the Denison model. Leadership styles in an organization substantially impact the success of the organization and the productivity of its employees. However, what transformational leadership entails and what effect it has on teacher effectiveness, as well as the influencing factors between leadership style and the work performance of university teachers, remains unknown. The objective of this paper is to undertake an empirical literature review of current studies on the extent to which transformational leadership affects the job performance of university teachers and the mediating effect of organizational culture. Based on the literature review, it reaches two conclusions: Firstly, there is a positive correlation between transformational leadership and the job performance of university teachers. Secondly, organizational culture plays a crucial mediating role between transformational leadership and the performance of university teachers. Hence, it is reasonable to conduct additional research on the impact of transformational leadership, especially the effect of its specific dimensions on the performance of university teachers through the mediating role of the university organizational culture. It is also highlighted that university leaders should recognize the significance of school culture and thus work hard to cultivate a conducive and pleasant work environment and organizational culture. Introduction: The COVID 19 pandemic brought direct consequences to health institutions. The strategies implemented to face the health crisis were concentrated on two fronts. On the one hand, it was necessary to cover the care of critical patients, and on the other, to create internal communication strategies. Objectives: To know the perception of the staff of the Hospital Clínico Félix Bulnes located in Cerro Navia (Chile) on the actions implemented in internal communication between March 2020 and September 2022. Methodology: A Likert survey and a focus group were carried out with 40 officials from the Félix Bulnes hospital, located in Cerro Navia (Chile), from different levels and roles who participated voluntarily. Results: The strategies implemented from internal communication are positively perceived by officials, however, there are a number of opportunities to develop and enhance digital channels of interaction and new methodologies that integrate communicational participation in a transversal way. Conclusion: There is a preference for the use of digital interaction channels by hospital officials, and reveal the importance and central role played by internal communication for the development of organizational culture and transversal communication.
