This qualitative research aimed to explore high school students' opinions on the effectiveness of using the mind map method asa note-taking, thinking, and learning tool. The study involved 80 students from 9th, 11th, and 12th grades who were introducedto the mind map method and asked to apply it in their lessons. The results showed that the majority of the students believed that the use of the mind map method supports permanent learning, extends attention and focus time, helps to focus faster and learn easily, is entertaining, enjoyable, and motivational, saves time, and improves creativity. However, a few students pointed out that the use of shapes and painting require effort and time. These findings are consistent with previous studies and suggest that the mind map method can be an effective learning tool for high school students. The study recommends adding the mind map method to the guidance framework program and curriculum textbooks, as well as training teachers, especially guidance teachers, to enhance the students' permanent learning, attention and focus time, faster focusing and easy learning, fun, enjoyable, and increased motivation, saving time, making it easier to remember by choosing keywords, and improving creativity. Overall, this study highlights the potential benefits of using the mind map method in education and offers suggestions for its implementation to support students' learning.

The perspective of learning science as a way of thinking and inquiry can be realized if teachers can develop higher order thinking skills (HOTS)-oriented science worksheets. Therefore, it is very important to train the creativity of Pre-service Elementary School Teachers (PETs) in developing HOTS-oriented science worksheets in the education of prospective elementary school teachers. This study aims to describe the profile of PETs' creative thinking in developing HOTS-oriented science worksheets. Research involving PETs in one of the universities in Central Java. Data collection was carried out through a creative thinking assessment rubric on worksheet products on 38 PETs. Content analysis with an interactive model is applied in research. The results showed that the aspects of fluency, flexibility, and elaboration were obtained in the sufficient category. While the aspect of originality obtained unfavorable results. The results of the study concluded that creative thinking skills in developing HOTS-oriented science worksheets were still not good. Research recommends that lecturers immediately make efforts to select effective learning methods and tools to enhance PETs' creativity in developing HOTS-oriented science worksheets.

This research investigated teacher technological-creative fostering behaviour as determinant of teacher classroom practices in private primary schools in the Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria. This study adopted the correlational research design. The population was all teachers in private primary schools in Makurdi. A sample of 70 mathematics teachers was drawn from 50 private primary schools. Two researcher-structured instruments were used for data collection, namely; the Mathematics Teacher Tech-Creativity Inventory (MTTI) and the Mathematics Teacher Classroom Practice Inventory (MTCPI). Correlation, scatterplots, and histograms were used to answer research questions, while analysis of variance was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The following were the findings: the top three technological tools among others which mathematics teachers at the primary school level use most often to facilitate their teaching practices are, first interactive whiteboard, second, the calculator and third, internet surfing. Teacher tech-creativity fostering behaviour has a significant impact on teacher clarity, teacher classroom discussions, teacher feedback, teacher formative assessment and, teacher-teacher collaboration as teacher classroom practices. It was recommended that teachers of mathematics consider utilizing technology creatively during lessons as a catalyst to advance classroom teaching practices of teacher classroom clarity, class discussions, teacher feedback, formative assessment, and teacher-teacher collaboration.

In this study, the orientation of the first-grade primary school students to school was ensured by creative drama activities. Activities that lasted 21 hours were applied to ensure that the students adapted to the school, their friends, their teachers, school staff, and places in the school. Parents, classroom teacher, 19 students and two prospective teachers as observers participated in this study. Quantitative data were collected before and after the drama workshop by the "Objectives Attainment Evaluation Form" and this data were compared with the non-parametric tests. Qualitative data were obtained using written and individual interviews. This study contributed positively to students' communication and cooperation, recognizing the school and the class and realizing the school and classroom rules. The findings showed that school orientation studies improved social skills, such as empathy by increasing interaction between the school, the parents, and the students. The families participating in these activities stated that they understood their children better, felt like children, and they implied they remembered their childhood years. The current study displayed that creative drama activities significantly facilitated the orientation of the students to their schools.

This article analyses the educational possibilities of art installations in the training of future early childhood and primary school teachers. I start by reviewing the origins of installation art before presenting an experience designed for teachers based on the creation of scale models and installation experiences. Scale model installations constitute a tool for future teachers to explore contemporary artistic creation while fostering creativity and reflection on their role as educators. This study employs a constructivist qualitative methodology using "action-based research" and a journal to record the progress of the students throughout the project. The initial results demonstrate the educational value of this experience and its potential to generate further educational experiences to explore contemporary art themes and other areas of the curriculum. The use of installation art in education is compatible with a diversity of approaches, materials, and media and opens the door to new lines of research.

Creativity and design thinking skills are considered pillars in arts practice in general. Traditional arts education, in particular, involves a tension between pure technical skill and the ability to design creatively regardless of craft limitations. The present study focuses on eliminating the boundaries between craft and art and bridging the gap between technical skills and creativity in practicing traditional textile printing arts. The paper presents a teaching procedure that is based on exploring traditional textile printing within a new dimension and achieving a balance between both the technical and creative sides. The study proposes a survey model to investigate the impact of the applied procedures and understand students' perceptions of the full range of the traditional printing creative process in action. The conclusions of this study will aid in the development of traditional arts education and practice in general and their re-exploration as flexible, expressive, and creative forms of art.

The purpose of the study is to examine how Industry 4.0, and the digital environment, have together created a new situation for companies and universities in terms of soft skills for employability. While companies aim to introduce a new structure, universities try to align with these changes by developing new educational methods, curricula, and models. Many researches are focusing on -- rightfully so -- Industry 4.0 skills and competences to gain throughout higher education. However, we have shifted our research interest and asked students to what degree their university years added to their knowledge, self-management and skills. 147 engineering and technical manager students' responses from two faculties at Óbuda University, Hungary were analyzed to see their evaluations of the role of the university in the framework of Education 4.0, and their chances in the job market. Quantitative and CHAID analyses were used. Students' responses show significant differences between the two faculties regarding languages, teamwork, self-management and in the different order of the skills seen as most paramount to employability. Engineering students attach greater importance to field-relevant knowledge, while technical manager students find decision-making more useful. The research proved that Education 4.0 is here and Z generation studying at universities prefers problem-based learning, including creativity, analytical, and critical thinking while would like to have good communication skills. Universities need to adapt to these changes and integrate hard as well as soft skills development in tutoring. The importance of technical-IT knowledge is just as important as having interpersonal skills, excellence in problem-solving, so students need to be taught how to analyze problems, engage in scientific debate, or express themselves clearly as previous literature indicated.

Qualitative research is valuable in medicine because of the deep insights it offers into the social and cultural dimensions of healthcare. Historically, qualitative methods have been influenced by critical theory and have shared its constructivist epistemology and orientation towards social justice. It can be challenging to teach such critical qualitative inquiry to healthcare professionals because its underlying philosophy can seem at odds with the objectivist biological perspective emphasized in medical education. This is unfortunate because several social inequities are perpetuated by modern healthcare systems and critical qualitative inquiry is essential to the project of addressing them. This article argues that Norman Denzin's interpretive autoethnography is a promising method through which educators could introduce healthcare professionals to critical qualitative inquiry. In this method, the author uses the craft of writing creatively about their personal experiences as a tool for cultural interpretation and social justice activism. Such a creative analytic practice might seem alien to many medical professionals. On the other hand, the idea of analyzing their own experiences in detail is likely to feel familiar to them because of the prominence of reflective writing in healthcare professional development practice. This familiarity might make interpretive autoethnography accessible to healthcare professionals and practicing the method could help them to appreciate the value of interpretive writing as a way of investigating sociocultural meaning and promoting just change.

The objective of this research was to assess the efficacy of project-based learning in enhancing the analysis of student worksheets in the domains of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) with the integration of the ecoprint technique, focusing on its influence on student motivation and creativity. This investigation was conducted as a quasi-experiment involving a sample size of 150 students selected through cluster sampling. Data collection was executed using standardized tests, with instrument validity ascertained through the Aiken index and instrument reliability determined via Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis (MANOVA) and descriptive quantitative methods. The study's findings reveal a significant disparity in the mean scores of both learning motivation and student creativity. In conclusion, the implementation of project-based learning coupled with STEAM-based student worksheet analysis utilizing the ecoprint technique yields a substantial enhancement in learning motivation and student creativity. These findings underscore the success of employing STEAM-based worksheets in conjunction with the ecoprint method to foster students' motivation and creativity, as ecoprint inherently encompasses all STEAM components within the manufacturing process.

A large body of evidence shows that many ungrading practices are as good or better than conventional approaches at supporting learning outcomes. Much of the research on student perceptions of ungrading, however, is based on individual case studies which, although informative, are often anecdotal, not systematically implemented, and tend to emphasize the instructor's perspectives. Building on this literature, we offer a systematic study that asks: how do students perceive pedagogical practices designed by instructors to support an ungrading strategy? To answer this question, we conducted a survey of students across a range of disciplines and a variety of ungrading approaches to assess how they perceive their learning experiences in these courses as compared to others. Findings indicate that students generally perceive that ungrading practices improve their relationship with their instructor; enhance their engagement, agency, enjoyment, and interest; foster their intrinsic motivation and focus on learning; and facilitate their creativity. While many students reported reduced stress, others reported that the unfamiliarity and uncertainty of ungrading increased their stress. Gaining a better understanding of how students react to these pedagogical techniques can help instructors improve their practices.

Research confirms that critical thinking plays a fundamental role in decision making and problem solving, skills that are essential to function as successful adults in a complex world. Consequently, it has been a focus of educational research for decades. Faculty meetings and teacher training sessions repeatedly run sessions on ways that teachers can adapt their methodology to foster higher-level thinking. This article discusses the definition of critical thinking and the pivotal role that questioning can have in developing those skills. Out of the hundreds of questions teachers ask daily, few demand higher-level thinking. In fact, most ask for basic information or check for current learning rather than causing students to infer, analyze, evaluate, or demonstrate creativity. Further, the article includes a sampling of teaching techniques adapted from cooperative learning and other disciplines that have the potential to transform the world language classroom into a vibrant, learner-active space where students use critical thinking to solve problems.

This manuscript is a conceptual article that intends to address 'playful creativity' as an underexplored but potentially insightful component of TESOL programs. To this aim, playful creativity is first defined under a critical purview of traditional and recent conceptualizations of creativity. Afterward, 'creative TESOL' is briefly addressed. 'Pedagogical humor' is next put forth as a practical outlet for playful creativity in language education. To further elaborate on (and operationalize) such creative TESOL, 'humor-integrated language learning' (HILL) is outlined. HILL is argued as an innovative pedagogical approach with far-reaching effects. The article anchors the contention for humorizing creative TESOL in a) the literature-informed benefits of pedagogical humor, b) new directions in creativity programs, and c) the criticality of creativity. Several instructional designs and a sample activity are also outlined to better familiarize readers with this approach. The paper finally addresses practical considerations and further developments in HILL within the framework of playful creative TESOL.

This study explored relationships between hope, self-efficacy, and professional identity among a group of undergraduate engineering students at a western institution of higher education in the United States (US) over the span of an academic semester. We conducted a mixed-methods study with undergraduate engineering students to measure aspects of hope, and self-efficacy. Furthermore, we investigated how they perceived their own professional identity in terms of what it means to be an engineer and engage in the profession. Participants reported high levels of hope at mid- and end-of-semester. Those pursuing degrees requiring professional licensure reported higher levels of willpower compared to students pursuing non-licensure degrees. Students experienced increased self-efficacy towards engineering skills and processes over time. Participants' perceptions of engineering professional identity remained consistent over the semester. Their sense of engineering work and goal orientation fell primarily into one of three archetypes: Pragmatic, Creative, and Altruistic.

This study explores the Implementation Analysis of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum at SMKN 10 Luwu to foster creative and innovative students. The research delves into the curriculum implementation process, challenges faced, and outcomes through qualitative descriptive methods, including interviews and observations. Findings reveal successful implementation for the 2022/2023 academic year, showcasing teachers' proficiency in lesson planning and differentiated learning. Challenges include teachers' creative teaching methods, school environment considerations, and resource constraints. Addressing these requires training, community support, improved infrastructure, increased supervision, and collaboration. While the curriculum is effectively applied, refinement is ongoing, and some teachers encounter challenges in assessment timing. Despite this, teachers at SMKN 10 Luwu actively engage in the implementation process.

High school math projects center on solving real-world examples in a wide variety of situations that require a creative skill set. Creativity in high school mathematics takes place in a subtle form. In contrast, creativity presents itself conspicuously in art. Therefore, this paper will explore the utilization of polynomial equations in drawing various figures as part of algebra class projects. Additionally, these projects incorporate integrated digital tools in mathematics. The paper will analyze three algebraic projects: the first project involves drawing a bird, the second project focuses on drawing a butterfly, and the third project entails drawing a bat using polynomial equations with the technological tool Desmos. All three projects are products of student work that encompass figures requiring up to forty polynomial equations. The students' impressive work demonstrates the power of mathematics in pushing the boundaries of other subjects. As digital technology becomes increasingly integral, mathematical tools are positioned as universal tools for the future and are poised to rival artists in producing visual art. This raises the intriguing question: can a mathematician create better art with mathematical equations through digital technology than an artist?

Purpose: With the evolving demands of the global and Chinese economies, cultivating critical thinking and creativity has become imperative for social and economic development. However, contemporary educational practices have not kept pace with this essential need. This study examines the effects of project-based learning and project-based flipped classrooms on critical thinking and creativity in higher vocational colleges. Moreover, this research delves into the disparity and comparative analysis between the two approaches. Methodology: A between-group quasi-experimental study was designed. Data were collected from 120 respondents from one higher vocational college in Shanxi District using cluster sampling. The Ennis-Weir Critical Thinking test and District creativity test were used to collect data for further analysis. Data were analysed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and paired-sample t-test. Paired sample t-tests are employed to test the effects of two teaching methods, while ANCOVA is used to compare the discrepancy between the two methods. With the combination of paired sample t-test and ANCOVA, the more effective teaching method can be determined. Findings: The results indicated that project-based learning and flipped classrooms significantly affected critical thinking and creativity. Besides, the project-based flipped classrooms had a larger effect on critical thinking and creativity, proving to be a more effective teaching approach to transform the present curriculum pedagogy. Significance: This study theoretically integrates class activities into higher-order thinking skills and guides teachers and educators to cultivate talents in higher vocational education.

This study aims to prepare a scale to determine the creativity levels of prospective teachers studying at the undergraduate level of science teaching. In this context, 15 questions, suitable for student's level from physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy and ecology sub-branches were prepared. The questions were assessed by 5 lecturers who were experts in their fields for their opinions. After the expert opinion, the number of questions was determined as 13 and pilot study was carried out with 95 pre-service teachers studying in Inonu University Faculty of Education Science Teacher Education. The data obtained from the pilot study were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 statistical program according to Multi Surface Rasch Model. In order to determine the reliability of the scale, internal consistency coefficient of Cronbach's alpha was calculated and found 0.758. At the end of the research, the data was analyzed and the question number of the scale was determined as 10 according to the analysis results. Studies conducted on scientific creativity generally aimed to measure the scientific creativity of secondary school students. We believe that a deficiency in measuring the scientific creativity of undergraduate students at the academic level will be eliminated with the scale we developed.

This paper examines the interplay of creativity, education, and the expressive arts. We begin by presenting a narrative literature review focusing on the use of artistic tools to promote creativity, self-expressiveness, and meaningful aspects of emotional and social learning. This review reveals strong connections between the different components of this interplay, and a special attention is given to the use of arts to promoting creativity and meaningful learning. We then propose the Empowering Creative Education Model (ECEM), which aims to provide a practical framework for employing artistic tools in each of the model's four developmental circles: I, Us, Educational and Community. Each of the four circles includes unique aspects of personal development.

Faculties of Fine Arts in Turkey train artists and designers by using the universal language of art, taking into account scientific, artistic and cultural developments, developing students' creativity and productivity. In addition to the problems encountered by fine arts students and artists, who have creative personality elements, during the performance of art and the application of methods and techniques available in the literature, the level of use of technology will directly affect their artistic performances and activities. The aim of this study is to examine the creative personality traits and internet usage status-purposes of university students studying in Fine Arts Faculties on a relational basis. The study, which was conducted in the relational survey model, included 205 students studying at the fine arts faculties. Creative personality traits scale and internet usage intentions questionnaire were used to collect the data of the study. According to the findings of the study, the creativity personality traits of the participants are at a high level. In addition, creative personality traits of the students show partial differences according to gender variable. According to another result of the study, it was seen that the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts use "Social networking sites", "Video sharing sites", "Photo sharing sites" applications at a high level. Again, the internet usage purposes of the participants differ according to the gender variable. Finally, significant relationships were found between the participants' creative personality traits and their internet usage purposes.

Chengdu's popular music, with its profound historical and cultural significance, serves as an educational resource at the intersection of music, literacy, and cultural education. This research aims to propose guidelines for the teaching resource of Chengdu popular music for fostering literacy and cultural education. Located in the culturally diverse Sichuan Province, Chengdu boasts a rich tapestry of musical traditions, from folk to hip-hop, making it an ideal research site. Two key informants, experts in folk and hip-hop music, provide valuable insights into Chengdu's musical evolution. Data analysis involves thematic analysis of questionnaires and interviews, offering a comprehensive understanding of the city's music culture. The study reveals Chengdu's historical role as a cultural crossroads and the evolution of its pop music into a distinctive force within China's music landscape. Advocating for the integration of Chengdu popular music into educational curricula, this research emphasizes the need for well-structured teaching resources to capture its cultural authenticity. The benefits of cultural education include fostering diversity appreciation, enhancing cultural understanding, promoting literacy skills, cultivating emotional intelligence, strengthening cultural identity, and inspiring creativity and expression. Chengdu popular music offers a transformative approach to fostering cultural literacy, empowering students to thrive in a globalized world.

The globalization of contemporary education is ensured by the incorporation of cutting-edge pedagogical techniques and active learning technologies, such as case-method technology, into the teaching and learning process as a whole. The primary objective of this research endeavour was to assess the efficacy of the case method when employed in the integration of virtual reality technologies into the educational process for students pursuing technical disciplines, with a particular focus on enhancing their academic and professional proficiencies. The sample included 286 National Research Mordovia State University n.a. N.P. Ogarev University third-year students who were enrolled full-time. The first group was trained using traditional teaching methods, while the second group attended virtual reality courses in the context of the case method. To assess the level of thinking and creativity, the Jerome Bruner questionnaire was used. Academic achievement was measured using a five-point scale. The study revealed that when comparing the groups using classical teaching methods and the case method with the help of virtual reality technology, students' learning achievements do not differ (p>0.05); the average scores are 3.88 ± 0.75 and 4.16 ± 0.62 respectively; however, there was a tendency for an increase in the total score in the group where virtual reality was used. A case-method technology study in the context of virtual reality among engineering students revealed a connection between academic achievement and object, visual, iconic, symbolic thinking and creativity: the higher the basic type of thinking, the higher the academic achievement. This research paves the way for introducing case-method technology into higher technical education. Educators can use existing refinements and create full-fledged courses for some topics on the use of virtual reality software.

A wandering mind is not always a creative mind. Anecdotes about ideas spontaneously entering awareness during walks, showers, and other off-task activities are plenty. The science behind it, however, is still inconclusive. Creativity might result from how thought context--whether thoughts are on-task or off-task--relates to thought dynamics--how thoughts unfold. To explore this, study 1 (n = 85) surveyed creative professionals about a single idea they had earlier in the day. The spontaneity of thoughts positively correlated with self-reported creativity, whereas off-task thoughts or doing something else did not. Study 2 (n = 180) replicated these findings in a student sample during an idea generation task and added that free movement of thoughts also correlates with self-reported originality during idea generation. As indicated by expert ratings, no relationship of thought dynamics and thought context was found with population-level creativity. Herewith, this study suggests that thought dynamics, rather than thought context, explain the often suggested relationship between mind wandering and creativity.

Co-location tools of urban economic development, such as accelerators and incubators, can facilitate entrepreneurship. Of these tools, accelerators have proliferated in number and variety over the past couple of decades. However, growing evidence suggests that these programs are not equally effective, varying in form and function with disparate outcomes. Initial evidence indicates that the effectiveness of accelerators varies by entrepreneurial ecosystem features, such as density and university involvement. Current scholarship is limited, however, in that it doesn't provide an adequate explanation for why that is the case. This paper uses creative class theory to explain the distinct advantages of an accelerator powered by an urban, metropolitan research university. Among these advantages are the dense and diverse networks comprising urban research universities and the value each network participant contributes. In addition, we posit that amplifying these collective contributions is critical to startup success and the overall vitality of the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the region. We support our logic by profiling the best practices, design features, and lessons learned of an accelerator powered by a public, metropolitan research university serving as an anchor institution for the St. Louis region. This paper aims to explore the relationship between Protean Career Attitude, Boundaryless Career Attitude and Task and Contextual Performance mediated by Knowledge Management (KM). In this paper, KM is taken as a boundary process view, namely, Knowledge Sharing, Knowledge Integration and Knowledge Transformation. KM is taken as a mediator and the perspective of Third Space Hybridity and Knowledge Brokers have been tested. The role of boundary spanners has been investigated by empirically examining 104 employees teaching as adjunct faculty along with working in their respective fields in Karachi, Pakistan. These visiting faculties are performing the role of Boundary Spanners or Artists-Academic (Lam, 2017) and work using the knowledge from academia and organizations. A measurement model and Structural Equation Model using Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique have been applied using SMART-PLS software to test the hypotheses. While the bootstrapping method has been applied to test the mediation. The results showed that Protean Career Attitudes play a significant role in effecting both Task Performance and Contextual Performance through KM. Specifically, self-driven values (sub-dimension of Protean Career Attitudes) effect the relationship. Task Performance has a stronger effect than Contextual performance. This study discusses how the model works across different boundaries and how sharing, integration and transformation of knowledge occurs. This study will help top management in different organizations to understand the role of these boundary spanners and utilize them in the development of new products and services. The management needs to identify such individuals as they are better suited to take up the role of entrepreneurs in their organizations.

This study investigated the relationship between the perceived authentic leadership of college students and their innovation behavior according to social cognitive theory and further explored the mediating effect of trust climate and creative self-efficacy on this relationship. A questionnaire survey was conducted, and more than 847 samples were collected from college students in China. The results revealed that the perceived authentic leadership of college students had a significant and positive impact on their innovation behavior. Trust climate had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between college students' perceived authentic leadership and innovation behavior. In addition, creative self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between college students' perceived authentic leadership and innovation behavior. Furthermore, trust climate and creative self-efficacy had a serial mediating effect on the relationship between college students' perceived authentic leadership and innovation behavior. These results provide theoretical and practical evidence of college students' innovation behavior.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted higher education institutions worldwide, particularly Catholic schools offering graduate programs. The pandemic substantially impacted faculty teaching performance at a Catholic graduate school. Many faculty members cited difficulties transitioning to online instruction. Providing continuing support and training for online teaching, nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation among faculty members, and emphasizing student-centered approaches can all help improve faculty teaching performance in Catholic graduate schools. More research is needed to study the long-term impacts of the epidemic on faculty teaching performance and to discover effective techniques for assisting faculty members in transitioning to online teaching. Future research should look into the impact of other factors, such as curriculum revisions or teaching styles, on faculty teaching performance in the Catholic graduate school. Overall, the study emphasizes the necessity of assisting faculty members in adapting to the obstacles of online teaching and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity in Catholic graduate schools to improve teaching performance. Further research can expand on these findings to inform higher education policy and practice.

This article examines the unique intersection of knowledge that occurs in the digital arts learning context. The knowledge shared has emerged from the author's practice as a teaching artist designing and delivering an immersive and interactive intermedial arts learning experience in the field of physical theatre entitled Creature Interactions: an interactive workshop. Building on Mishra and Koehler's TPACK model for technology integration in learning contexts, an adapted model for conceiving and understanding technology integration in arts learning is proposed, TPAACK. The revised model presented acknowledges the primacy of aesthetic knowing and affect in arts encounters and its intrinsic presence in arts learning across any domain; digital or analogue.

This exploratory study reports findings from an "arts-based service-learning" (ABSL) programme where student musicians facilitated "therapeutic community music" (TCM) (Aigen, 2012) for, with, and alongside children and seniors in different community settings. The data primarily comprised student musicians' reflective logs and feedback forms and were analysed through a quality of life lens (Raphael, 2002). This paper discusses the student musicians' reported experiences of belonging (Raphael, 2002). Belonging manifested itself in physical, social, and community aspects. For example, facilitating TCM within a circular format helped the student musicians experience deeper social interactions and a greater sense of inclusion. Moreover, the sense of belonging became a resource for developing resilience, expressing creativity, building professional networks, and experiencing the possibilities of their careers. The study concludes with implications for embedding ABSL in higher education programmes to support learning, enhance well-being, and promote community.

This study aims to obtain a better understanding of how the teacher can support the acquisition of transversal competencies, such as collaboration, creativity and reflection when children aged between 11 and 12 take part in an activity designed to promote autonomous or self-regulatory learning. There is a need to equip the teachers to enable them to scaffold autonomous learning, taking into account the tensions coming to the fore between teacher's interventions and autonomous learning. How can the teacher ensure that the task is completed without interrupting the creative, collaborative and reflective dynamics within the group? How can they support learning becoming progressively more autonomous in each group? How is the flexible classroom organized to promote self-regulatory learning? The pedagogical scenarios presented in this research project have been drafted and trialled to help the teachers do just that. It is a collaborative research project inspired by Desgagné's (2007) procedure as the researcher, teachers and children all worked together at every stage of the study, i.e., the drafting of pedagogical scenarios by teachers in the UK and the trialling of these by teachers on their pupils in Switzerland. These scenarios were built with the purpose of promoting the development of transversal capacities in children at primary school level when engaging in various subjects: L1/L2/Lx, sciences, and maths. These school subjects were matched with a subphase of Zimmerman and Campillo's (2003) model, with one or two transversal capacities and with approaches currently applied to the teaching of these disciplines. Each of these scenarios can be used practically in the primary classroom to develop transversal competencies through autonomous learning.

The cultivation of innovative ability is an important part of China's current long-term education planning and innovative development-driven strategy, as well as an important issue of university teaching reform. The cultivation of innovative ability of dance professionals in colleges and universities is a problem of great concern for dance majors in terms of innovative teaching and new curriculum reform. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between innovative self-efficacy and innovative ability of dance majors, as well as the gender differences between the two. Through a questionnaire survey of dance majors in 6 universities in central China, 565 valid questionnaires were collected, and the relationship between variables was tested by difference analysis and Structural Equation Model model. The research results show that there are significant differences between genders in terms of innovative self-efficacy and innovative ability of dance majors; the innovative self-efficacy of dance majors has a positive impact on their innovative ability.

Teacher-scholars have called upon fellow language educators to redevelop curricula at all proficiency levels to portray the lived experiences of target language (TL) speakers. This article presents a semester-long project that contributes to developing diverse teaching materials for college-level learners at the novice level. Via an ePortfolio with 10 tasks (virtual and in-person), 20 learners of a second-semester German course explored connections with the TL locally and broadened their understanding of language-community membership beyond stereotypical notions of native speakers. Participants' feedback demonstrated how this project positively impacted students' learning experiences and reflected learners' strong desire for similar assignments in future courses. The findings speak to strategies of how educators can help beginning learners find connections to the TL in local contexts and investigate the diverse lived experiences of TL speakers abroad. The project's approaches, flexible format, and outcomes are easily implemented across various proficiency levels, world languages, and institutional contexts.

This study was to explore the current state of creativity among university teachers in Shaanxi, China. The study was based on creativity systems theory and a questionnaire survey was conducted with a convenience sample of university teachers in Shaanxi Province. A total of 711 teachers from 30 universities were sampled to compare the effects of demographic variables such as gender, title, subject background, and creativity award experience on statistical differences in creativity, and SPSS was used to analyse the effects between teachers' cognitive needs and creativity in the university context. The results of the study revealed that there were significant differences between title, subject background, and creativity award experience on creativity and cognitive needs of university teachers in Shaanxi; and there was a positive and significant effect of cognitive needs of university teachers on creativity.

This article details an art assignment given to undergraduate management students in an introductory supply chain management course. Students were asked to choose a supply chain ethics issue, create a work of art that responded to the issue, then write an artist's statement that discussed the thought process and choices made in creating their artwork. The majority of students submitted art that was creative, relevant to supply chain ethics, and well executed. Survey results reveal that students were in agreement that the assignment was more enjoyable than a comparable written assignment. In addition, students' understanding of ethical issues in supply chain management increased through both the creation of their own art and interactions with the art of their peers. This novel approach to teaching ethics in supply chain management addresses shortcomings in current approaches to business education and helps student build a strong foundation for ethical decision-making in their future careers.

Large Language Model (LLM) artificial intelligence tools present a unique challenge for educators who teach programming languages. While LLMs like ChatGPT have been well documented for their ability to complete exams and create prose, there is a noticeable lack of research into their ability to solve problems using high-level programming languages. Like many other university educators, those teaching programming courses would like to detect if students submit assignments generated by an LLM. To investigate grade performance and the likelihood of instructors identifying code generated by artificial intelligence (AI) tools, we compare code generated by students and ChatGPT for introductory Python homework assignments. Our research reveals mixed results on both counts, with ChatGPT performing like a mid-range student on assignments and seasoned instructors struggling to detect AI-generated code. This indicates that although AI-generated results may not always be identifiable, they do not currently yield results approaching those of diligent students. We describe our methodology for selecting and evaluating the code examples, the results of our comparison, and the implications for future classes. We conclude with recommendations for how instructors of programming courses can mitigate student use of LLM tools as well as articulate the inherent value of preserving students' individual creativity in producing programming languages.

Within the evolving landscape of advertising, educators and employers continuously strive to recognize students and potential employees for every competitive advantage. Creativity, a pivotal determinant of campaign effectiveness, has been recognized as the foremost soft skill sought by employers according to LinkedIn. Grounded in trait theory, this paper posits that personality serves as a crucial tool for educators and employers in identifying individuals predisposed to a career in creative advertising and delineates personality traits that are predictive of an individual's propensity to engage in creative advertising. This not only bridges the gap between personality and advertising practices but also offers empirical insights that could inform educational strategies and recruitment processes. Thus, it contributes a novel perspective to the discourse on talent identification and development in the creative advertising domain. Lastly, this study utilizes HEXACO Personality Inventory, an advancement from models such as the Big-5 to advance trait theory research.

Purpose: In light of a need for more critical education about datafication, this paper aims to develop a framework for critical datafication literacy that is grounded in theoretical and empirical research. The framework draws upon existing critical data literacies, an in-depth analysis of three well-established educational approaches - media literacy, the German "(politische) Bildung" and Freirean "critical pedagogy" - and empirical analyses of online educational resources about datafication. Design/methodology/approach: The study interconnects theoretical analyses with an empirical mixed methods investigation that includes expert interviews with creators of online educational resources about datafication and a qualitative survey with educators interested in teaching about data technologies. Findings: The research identified novel findings on the goals of resource creators and educators, such as a focus on empowering and emancipatory approaches, fostering systemic understanding of datafication and encouraging collective action. Such perspectives are rare in existing critical data literacy conceptualisations but show resemblance to traditional education scholarship. This highlights how much can be learnt from practitioners and from these more established educational approaches. Based on these findings, a framework for critical datafication literacy is suggested that aims for systemic understanding of datafication, encouraging critical thinking and enabling learners to make enlightened choices and take different forms of action. Originality/value: The study is unique in its interconnection of theoretical and empirical research, and it advances previous research by suggesting a grounded framework for critical datafication literacy.

Purpose: With the rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI), it is important to consider how young people are making sense of these tools in their everyday lives. Drawing on critical postdigital approaches to learning and literacy, this study aims to center the experiences and perspectives of young people who encounter and experiment with generative AI in their daily writing practices. Design/methodology/approach: This critical case study of one digital platform -- Character.ai -- brings together an adolescent and adult authorship team to inquire about the intertwining of young people's playful and critical perspectives when writing on/with digital platforms. Drawing on critical walkthrough methodology (Light et al., 2018), the authors engage digital methods to study how the creative and "fun" uses of AI in youths' writing lives are situated in broader platform ecologies. Findings: The findings suggest experimentation and pleasure are key aspects of young people's engagement with generative AI. The authors demonstrate how one platform works to capitalize on these dimensions, even as youth users engage critically and artfully with the platform and develop their digital writing practices. Practical implications: This study highlights how playful experimentation with generative AI can engage young people both in pleasurable digital writing and in exploration and contemplation of platforms dynamics and structures that shape their and others' literate activities. Educators can consider young people's creative uses of these evolving technologies as potential opportunities to develop a critical awareness of how commercial platforms seek to benefit from their users. Originality/value: This study contributes to the development of a critical and humanist research agenda around generative AI by centering the experiences, perspectives and practices of young people who are underrepresented in the burgeoning research devoted to AI and literacies.

Co-creation has been used across disciplines and within the arts for quite some time. This article aims to analyze what students from a university devoted to the arts understand by the term "co-creation" and how these students suggest evaluating co-creation. It also aims to compare this with the professional's perception to relate the curriculum to what is relevant in the cultural industry. Thus, we discuss how co-creation processes could be integrated into the arts curriculum Higher Education. Through the application of this research to arts education, students, professionals, and communities can benefit from more enriched, engaged experiences with art.

Purpose: In the following theoretical article, the author generates a theory of Leadership Pedagogy and its connection to Creative Arts Education. Design/methodology/approach: The article analyzes Leadership Theory across three pillars: Socio-relational, Cognitive and Creative, and how these areas underscore thoughtful and caring pedagogy and inclusive teaching in undergraduate education. Findings: Drawing on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), the article advocates for a flexible, multifaceted approach to curricular design rooted in theoretical pluralism, prioritizing interdisciplinary methods to bridge theory and practice in Creative Arts Education. Originality/value: The article concludes with implications for future research and collaboration connecting Leadership Studies and the Arts.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the factors that are important for strengthening university-industry collaboration (UIC). This study also investigates the outcome of UIC in the light of creativity, skill, knowledge, and research work. Design/methodology/approach: A survey method has been used to collect data for the study. This study applied a purposive judgmental sampling technique where particular types of respondents like university faculty members and the top officials of the organizations were selected who are knowledgeable and can provide the desired information. The current study used the structural equation modeling method to analyze the data. In the first stage, this research assessed the demographic factors of the respondent. Then this study conducts confirmatory factors analysis and convergent and discriminant validity and reliability test. Finally, the hypotheses are tested by using nonparametric. Findings: This study finds that knowledge transfer mechanism, governmental factors, organizational design factors, technology transfer and the collaborative network has a significant impact on strengthening UIC, which ultimately facilitates creativity, knowledge creation, skills development and supply of graduate according to the requirement of the industry, good research work. Originality/value: The current study identified some important determinant that has a substantial influence on strengthening UIC. According to the study organizational design, government, technology, collaborative network and mechanism for knowledge transfer play very crucial roles in strengthening collaboration that ultimately increases the creativity, skills, knowledge and research capability of graduates.

Creativity has been described as an indissociable component of music education, complex to conceptualize and often overgeneralized. This article provides an overview of existing research on musical creativities in secondary education between 1990 and 2020. A total of 76 articles published in peer-reviewed journals are reviewed according to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. To present and discuss the results, several dimensions of creativity research have been clustered into five categories: product, person/group, creative process, context, and domain. The 22.37% of the articles focus on the creative process, 14.47% on the context, 13.16% on the person/group perspective, and 1.32% on the product. The 48.68% of the studies focus on the domain perspective, showing an emphasis on specific activities traditionally associated with musical creativity like composing or improvising. Music listening is not present, and various forms of musical creativities are underrepresented. Over these three decades, an increasing orientation on teaching and learning within a sociocultural framework can be observed. In addition, the pedagogical challenges concern an expanded vision of creativity, albeit based on a specific and precisely defined framework.
