This study aims to explore two crucial aspects of collaborative work and learning: the importance of enabling CSCL applications, on the one hand, to capture and structure the information generated by group activity and, on the other hand, to extract the relevant knowledge in order to provide learners and tutors with efficient awareness and support as regards collaboration. To this end, we first identify and define the main types of information generated in online group activity and then propose a process for efficiently embedding this information and the knowledge extracted from it into CSCL applications for awareness and feedback purposes. The conceptual model proposed finally gave rise to the design and implementation of a CSCL generic platform, called the Collaborative Learning Purpose Library (CLPL), which serves as a basis for the systematic development of collaborative learning applications and for providing full support to the mentioned process of knowledge management. International audience; This article presents a behavioral study of 4 groups, composed of 4 students each, coming from two different high schools in France. The objective is to understand oral and written participation of these students (individual and collective), as part of a collaborative activity of concept maps, which is a tree of concepts linked by labels between these links. The specificity of the activity lies in the presence of a private and a public workspace in the concept map. Students can develop their own ideas in their private workspace and share those of their choice with the group. Our hypothesis is that the individual contribution of the students in the group's collaborative concept map is influenced by their communication flow and thus by their affective culture. To answer this hypothesis, we collected data on their productions, both oral and written, both at the individual level and at the group level. The transcription of oral interactions and the analysis of written productions allowed us to evaluate the communication flow within the groups, the interdependence between their members and the participation of each student. The results showed that the affective culture of the groups allowed students to create new dyads during the activity. We also found that in ¾ of the groups, the same students working in dyads, are those who have the most communicated orally and also those who produced the most on the concept map of their group.; Cet article présente une étude comportementale de 4 groupes, composés de 4 élèves chacun, provenant de deux lycées différents en France. L’objectif en est de comprendre la participation orale et écrite de ces élèves (individuelle et collective), dans le cadre d’une activité collaborative de cartes conceptuelles, qui est une arborescence de concepts liés par des étiquettes entre ces liens. La spécificité de l’activité proposée aux élèves réside dans la présence d’un espace privé et d’un espace public dans une carte conceptuelle. Les élèves peuvent ainsi développer leurs propres idées dans leur espace privé et partager celles de leur choix avec le groupe. Notre hypothèse est que la contribution individuelle des élèves, dans la carte conceptuelle collaborative du groupe, est influencée par leur flux de communication et ainsi par leur culture affective. Pour répondre à cette hypothèse, nous avons collecté des données relatives à leurs productions, à la fois orales et écrites, tant au niveau individuel, qu’au niveau du groupe. La transcription des interactions orales et l’analyse des productions écrites nous ont permis d’évaluer les flux de communication au sein des groupes, l’interdépendance entre leurs membres et la participation de chaque élève. Les résultats ont montré que la culture affective des groupes a permis aux élèves de créer de nouvelles dyades au cours de l’activité. Nous avons également constaté que dans les ¾ des groupes, les élèves ayant travaillé en dyades, sont ceux qui ont le plus communiqué oralement et également ceux qui ont le plus produit sur la carte conceptuelle de leur groupe.
