This is an article in the field of mineral processing engineering. Compared with foam flotation, the hydrophobic-hydrophilic two-liquid separation has a greater advantage in the recovery of ultra-fine particles (coal 30～50 μm, non-coal 10～20 μm). Based on oil agglomeration, Otiska process, displacement dehydration, dual-liquid flotation and low boiling point non-polar liquid recovery, a new kind of hydrophobic-hydrophilic dual-liquid separation technology (HHS) can promote the full fragmentation and redistribution of ultra-fine aggregates in the dual-phase system, so as to achieve the purpose of flooding water and ash reduction. In this article, the development of hydrophobic-hydrophilic separation in recent years was summarized and compared from the aspects of HHS coal preparation process, aggregate crushing theory, feasibility of hydrophobic liquid recovery, technological advantages compared with foam flotation and oil agglomeration, and dehydration of fine coal, in order to provide references for the further development.

This is an article in the field of mining engineering. Coal gasification slag is a type of solid waste generated during the coal gasification process. The presence of residual carbon significantly limits its potential for reuse and recycling. Therefore, the extraction of residual carbon from coal gasification slag is a pressing concern. In this research, the separation of residual carbon and inorganic minerals from gasification fine slag was studied by hydrophobic-hydrophilic separation technology. The effects of stirring speed, stirring time, hydrophobic liquid dosage, pulp concentration, pulp temperature, and hydrophobic liquid type on the separation effect of carbon/ ash were investigated. The hydrophobic-hydrophilic separation technology has excellent carbon extraction and ash reduction effect on coal gasification slag, and the ash content of its carbon product can be up to 30% or less, while that of the ash product can be up to 95% or more. The separation mechanism was revealed by the characterisation analysis, which showed that the adsorption strength of residual carbon on paraffin was much higher than that of ash, which made the kerosene-treated residual carbon hydrophobicity greatly increased and easy to be captured by the oil phase. This study can provide important guidance for the efficient carbon extraction and ash reduction of coal gasification fine residue, which can help to achieve the comprehensive utilisation of coal gasification solid waste.

Three samples of 5#, 9# and Mugua coal from Coal Preparation Plant of Lyulin Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd. were collected as the research objects. Screening, proximate analysis and ultimate analysis of the three coal samples were carried out. The mineral composition and surface functional groups of the three coal samples were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR and XPS. Kerosene, on-site reagent and TY6 developed in the laboratory were used for flotation tests. The collecting effect of the three reagents on different types of coal samples was compared. The results showed that 5# coal sample was easy to float, 9# coal sample showed less floatability than 5# coal, while Mugua coal showed the poorest floatability owing to high oxidation and strong hydrophilicity. For the three coal samples, TY6 and the on-site reagents both showed much better collective ability than kerosene and consume less as well. For easy-to-float coal, TY6 showed better selectivity, while for difficult-to-float coal, TY6 showed better collectivity. Smaller particle size dispersed in water, higher viscosity, and containing oxygen-bearing organic substances were the main characteristics of TY6 and the on-site reagents that made them stand out as compared with kerosene, which resulted in better reaction with coal surface, bigger contact angle and better hydrophobicity. In this point of view, TY6 behaved even a little better than the on-site reagents.

IntroductionImmature ovarian teratomas are a type of malignant germ cell tumor composed of complicated cell types and are characterized by pathological features of immature neuroectodermal tubules/rosettes. However, there is a lack of understanding of patient-derived immature ovarian teratomas (PDT) at the single cell level. Moreover, whether stem cell lines derived from immature teratomas (CDT) can be used as models for research on PDT remains to be elucidated.MethodsSingle-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and subsequent bioinformatic analysis was performed on three patient-derived immature ovarian teratomas (PDT) samples to reveal the heterogeneity, evolution trajectory, and cell communication within the tumor microenvironment of PDT. Validations were conducted in additional seven samples through multiplex immunofluorescence.ResultA total of qualified 22,153 cells were obtained and divided into 28 clusters, which can match to the scRNA-seq annotation of CDT as well as human fetal Cell Atlas, but with higher heterogeneity and more prolific cell-cell crosstalk. Radial glia cells (tagged by SOX2) and immature neuron (tagged by DCX) exhibited mutually exclusive expression and differentiated along distinct evolutionary trajectory from cycling neural progenitors. Proportions of these neuroectodermal cell subtypes may play important roles in PDT through contributing to the internal heterogeneity of PDTs. Moreover, the immune cells in PDTs were infiltrated rather than teratoma-derived, with more abundant macrophage in immature neuron than those in radial glia cells, and the infiltrated macrophage subtypes (i.e., M1 and M2) were significantly correlated to clinical grade. Overall, suppressed evolution process and transcriptome regulation in neuroectodermal cells, reduced cell-cell crosstalk, higher M1/M2 proportion ratio, and enhanced T cell effects in tumor microenvironment are enriched in patients with favorable prognosis.DiscussionThis study provides a comprehensive profile of PDT at the single cell level, shedding light on the heterogeneity and evolution of neuroectodermal cells within PDTs and the role of immune cells within the tumor microenvironment. Also, our findings highlight the potential usage of CDTs as a model for research on PDT.

The southern side of the Daba Mountain area is a hotspot of global biodiversity and an essential barrier promoting ecological security. However, knowledge about the distribution status and transmission pathways of invasive alien species (IAS) in this area is limited. We counted the IAS on the southern side of the Daba Mountain area through sample transects and analyzed the factors affecting their spatial distribution. We also assessed IAS risk using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), which found 64 IAS belonging to 23 families and 53 genera. Around rivers and roads, the results showed a vertical two-way dispersal pattern. Human and environmental factors, such as a very dense transportation network, can affect the distribution pattern of IAS. AHP assessed 43 IAS (67.19%), primarily distributed in villages and towns, as being of high or medium risk. High- and medium-risk IAS should be the focus of invasion prevention and control, and priority should be given to controlling the spread of IAS around rivers and roads.

Recent studies showed that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) could play critical roles in tumors progression. However, the performance of LINC01354 is still limited in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In the current study, our results showed that LINC01354 was significantly increased in NSCLC tissues and cell lines. High LINC01354 expression was associated with advanced TNM stage and poor prognosis in NSCLC patients. Loss-of-function assays revealed that knockdown of LINC01354 reduced lung cancer cells proliferation and invasive ability in vitro. Subsequently, mechanism studies showed that LINC01354 positively regulated the ATF1 expression via competitive binding to miR-340-5p. Therefore, our results illustrated that LINC01354 might act as an oncogenic role by modulating the miR-340-5p/ATF1 axis, providing a novel therapeutic therapy for NSCLC treatment.

Ecological divergence at a microsite suggests adaptive evolution, and this study examined two abutting wild barley populations, each 100 m across, differentially adapted to drought tolerance on two contrasting soil types, Terra Rossa and basalt at the Tabigha Evolution Slope, Israel. We resequenced the genomes of seven and six wild barley genotypes inhabiting the Terra Rossa and basalt soils, respectively, and identified a total of 69,192,653 singlenucleotide variants (SNVs) and insertions/deletions in comparison with a reference barley genome. Comparative genomic analysis between these abutting wild barley populations involved 19,615,087 highquality SNVs. The results revealed dramatically different selection sweep regions relevant to drought tolerance driven by edaphic natural selection within 2,577 selected genes in these regions, including key drought-responsive genes associated with ABA synthesis and degradation (such as Cytochrome P450 protein) and ABA receptor complex (such as PYL2, SNF1-related kinase). The genetic diversity of the wild barley population inhabiting Terra Rossa soil is much higher than that fromthe basalt soil. Additionally, we identified different sets of genes for drought adaptation in the wild barley populations from Terra Rossa soil and from wild barley populations from Evolution Canyon I at Mount Carmel. These genes are associated with abscisic acid signaling, signaling and metabolism of reactive oxygen species, detoxification and antioxidative systems, rapid osmotic adjustment, and deep root morphology. The unique mechanisms for drought adaptation of the wild barley from the Tabigha Evolution Slope may be useful for crop improvement, particularly for breeding of barley cultivars with high drought tolerance.
