This badge is made of brass and was worn on the slouched hat by the Other Ranks of the Scottish Horse regiments, originally raised during the Second Boer War. It features the words, "SCOTTISH HORSE 1900" around a cross of St Andrew, with a laurel branch on the right side and a juniper branch on the left. During World War I, the Scottish Horse Imperial Yeomanry (a successor to the Second Boer War regiments) became part of the British Territorial Force, some of which fought overseas.

Pipe has a wooden stem and mouthpiece, with a porcelain bowl and shank. There is a length of thin string or twine wound around the top of the stem, with two small green pom-poms attached to the ends. There is also a hinged metal cap attached to the top of the bowl. At the bend in the shank is an image of an Iron Cross with the inscriptions, "W" and "1914", surrounded by a laurel wreath tied with a bow. On the front of the bowl is the inscription, "Fest steht der deutschen Bruderstämme Wacht am Rhein." surrounded by another wreath with berries, German flags, and oak leaves. The words are similar to the lyrics of "Die Wacht am Rhein", a German patriotic anthem, and roughly translate to "Strong stands the German brotherhood watch on the Rhine". Below is inscribed "1915". On the back of bowl, facing the stem, is inscribed, "Armee Abteilung Gaede". This was a detachment of the German Army during World War I, named after its commander General Hans Gaede and later known as Armee-Abteilung B.

Candle holder is made from three rifle shells, along with their projectiles, soldered together to a circular base. This base is decorated with the Great Seal of the United States, which includes: an eagle wearing the U.S. coat of arms, clutching arrows in its left talon, an olive branch in its right, and a scroll in its beak, all below a sun crest. The end of each shell has been cut off to accommodate a small candle, and their size suggests that they are .303-inch caliber shells. Affixed to the center shell is an Iron Cross appliqué overlaying a wreath of leaves and berries stretching across all three shells. There is a small metal link attached to the Iron Cross, suggesting that the candle holder may have been hung on a hook or otherwise attached to something else. The shells themselves have been pebbled, creating abstract flower shapes. The edge of each shell also has a thin border.

The crucifix is composed of a metal base, bullet cross, image of Jesus, and crest. Two bullets soldered together end to end form the vertical part of the cross, while two more bullet projectiles are soldered to each side near the top to form the horizontal part. The pointed end of the bottom bullet fits into a whole at the center of the metal base, which is circular and cut into a scalloped pattern around the edges. The base has stamped abstract fleur-de-lis and leaf patterns, as well as berries. The image of Jesus, including a halo, has been stamped out of a thin piece of metal. Above this image is a crest, with a crown bearing the inscription "VERDUN" above a shield with a castle and grenade. Below the shield is a small flower, and a curved shape with leaves meant to be a wreath with another "VERDUN" inscription and stars. Both the crest and image of Jesus have been soldered to the cross.

Shell is made of metal, and has a circular appliqué on one side featuring the inscription, "GOTT MIT UNS" above a crown, with a wreath below. A portion of the crown has been dented inward. The wreath has berries and may be a laurel wreath, and is tied with a bow in the middle. On the opposite side is an engraved flower with its stem and leaves. There is an inscription, "1914 1919" above, the flower, with "7TH K.L.R." below. K.L.R. may stand for King's Liverpool Regiment, also known as King's Regiment (Liverpool). On the short side of the matchbox holder are the inscriptions, "PTE. E. ORMSBY." and "89565."

Shell is made of polished brass, with a flared top edge crimped to resemble a pie crust. The majority of the shell has been pebbled to reveal a variety of embossed, engraved, and hatched images, including: roses, poppies, trees, strawberry plants, other unidentified plants with leaves and berries, a bird in flight, a hawk perched on a branch, a spider, a woman's head, a Native American man's upper torso and head with headdress, and star and circle shapes.

Shell is made of dark polished brass, the majority of which is pebbled to reveal an embossed and engraved holly wreath, with leaves and berries, surrounding a shield.

Shell is made of dark, polished brass that is discolored in places. A shield-shaped section of the shell has been hatched to reveal two embossed and engraved branches. One branch has oak leaves and acorns, and the other has unidentified leaves and berries. "1914" is inscribed at the top of the shield, with "CH. - THIERRY" in the middle and "1918" at the bottom. The additional inscription "AU" is small and placed above the hyphen ("-") in the aforementioned inscription, so that the intended word order is unclear.

Shell is made of dark, polished brass, with a slightly flared top edge that is cracked in places. This top edge is also pierced with four equally-spaced holes, and hatched along the outside. The majority of the shell is pebbled to reveal embossed and engraved branches with leaves and berries or fruits. There are also two birds perched in the branches. On the bottom edge of the shell is inscribed a monogram with the initials "CF" and "1918" with "VERDUN" below. There is also a very lightly scratched inscription "BLONIARZ", which may be a Polish surname.
