Abstract

Shell is made of dark polished brass, the majority of which is pebbled to reveal an embossed and engraved holly wreath, with leaves and berries, surrounding a shield.

Title by cataloger., Bottom of shell has the inscriptions, "st", "FN" within a circle, "41", "APRIL 1918", "HL 25", and "67% Cu". The FN monogram indicates that the shell was manufactured by Fritz Neumeyer., While the headstamp does not indicate caliber, during World War I the Germans primarily used 77 mm shells.
