Abstract Objective This study aimed to investigate the effects of combining remimazolam with estazolam on hemodynamics and pain levels after laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery. Methods A total of 184 patients who underwent laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery were enrolled in this double-blind randomized controlled trial. The patients were divided into four groups: Study Group 1(Remimazolam), Study Group 2(Estazolam), Study Group 3(Remimazolam + Estazolam), and Control Group. Anesthesia induction included intravenous injection of remimazolam and estazolam in the study groups, while the control group received normal saline. Hemodynamic parameters, stress responses, anxiety levels, and pain intensity were assessed at various time points. Results The results showed that the combination of remimazolam and estazolam significantly improved hemodynamic parameters compared to the control group. Study Group 3 exhibited the lowest anxiety levels and stress responses among all groups. Furthermore, Study Group 3 had the lowest pain intensity scores at different postoperative time points. Conclusion The combination of remimazolam and estazolam effectively stabilized hemodynamics, reduced anxiety levels, and alleviated pain intensity after laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery. These findings suggest that this combination therapy has the potential to improve surgical outcomes and patient comfort.

Abstract Background Superficial soft tissue metastasis (S-STM) of malignant tumors is uncommon and often brings great pain to patients. However, current treatment options are limited. The purpose of this study was to explore the clinical efficacy and prognostic factors of CT-guided radioactive iodine-125 (125I) seed implantation (RISI) for the treatment of S-STM. Methods We retrospectively evaluated 132 patients with S-STM who received RISI between June 2010 and July 2022. Local tumor progression-free survival (ltPFS), tumor response, pain control and complication were analyzed. The independent factors affecting ltPFS were screened out using a layered Cox proportional hazards model. Results The median follow-up time was 8.3 months (interquartile range [IQR], 4.5–15.3 months). The objective response rate (ORR) was 81.8%. The median ltPFS was 9.1 (95% CI: 6.6, 11.6) months. The regulation of infrared (IR) thermal radiation has received widespread attention; the proposals have been made for various devices that use electrochromic materials. However, the visible appearance of the mentioned devices also changes when the IR states are altered. Herein, the memristive mechanism is utilized to regulate IR emissivity and design a novel transparent memristor‐type modulator featuring an Indium tin oxide (ITO)/HfO2/ITO structure. The modulator exhibits a dynamic emissivity variation of 0.38 in the IR region of 2.5–25 μm, without compromising transparency in the visible region under the application of an electric voltage. The migration of oxygen vacancies results in the modification of interface barriers and the formation of oxygen vacancy‐enriched regions, thereby enabling the modulator to exhibit resistive switching behavior and regulate IR emissivity. An array of modulators is also assembled, demonstrating the ability to independently display visible and IR information. In this work, new possibilities are presented for various applications such as multispectral displays, energy‐efficient thermoregulation, encrypted information displays, and camouflage.

Abstract High spatial‐resolution detection is essential for biomedical applications and human‐machine interaction. However, as the sensor array density increases, the miniaturization will lead to interference between adjacent units and deterioration in sensing performance. Here, inspired by the cochlea's sensing structure, a high‐density flexible pressure sensor array featuring with suspended sensing membrane with sensitivity‐enhanced customized channels is presented for crosstalk‐free and high‐resolution detection. By imitating the basilar membrane attached to spiral ligaments, a sensing membrane is fixed onto a high‐stiffness substrate with cavities, forming a stable braced isolation to provide an excellent crosstalk‐free capability (crosstalk coefficient: 47.24 dB) with high‐density integration (100 units within 1 cm2). Similar to the opening of ion channels in hair cells, the wedge‐type expansion of the embedded cracks introduced by stress concentration structures enables a high sensitivity (0.19 kPa−1) and a large measuring range (400 kPa). Finally, it demonstrates promising applications in distributed displays and the condition monitoring of medical‐surgical intubation.

Thanks to its structural characteristics and signal patterns similar to those of human brain synapses, memristors are widely believed to be applicable for neuromorphic computing. However, to our knowledge, memristors have not been effectively applied in the biomedical field, especially in disease diagnosis and health monitoring. In this work, a blood-based biomemristor was prepared for in vitro detection of hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia. It was found that the device exhibits excellent resistance switching (RS) behavior at lower voltage biases. Through mechanism analysis, it has been confirmed that the RS behavior is driven by Ohmic conduction and ion rearrangement. Furthermore, the hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia detection devices were constructed for the first time based on memristor logic circuits, and circuit simulations were conducted. These results confirm the feasibility of blood-based biomemristors in detecting hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, providing new prospects for the important application of memristors in the biomedical field.

The memristor, characterized by its resistive switching (RS) behavior, has garnered significant interest within the scientific community, particularly because of its vast potential applications in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and information storage. This is attributed to its unique properties, which align well with the requirements of advanced computational and memory systems. Ferroelectric memristors are currently a thriving area of research, and this study uses Sm-doped Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 (Sm-PMN-PT) and polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) as the functional layer. A multi-factor responsive memristor based on a Ag/Sm-PMN-PT:PVDF/ITO sandwich structure is fabricated, for which the RS behavior of the memristor can be adjusted by multi-factors such as voltage scanning rate, bias voltage amplitude, temperature and environmental humidity. Specifically, this device is sensitive to changes in environmental humidity and exhibits the properties of an artificial neural synapse. These advantageous characteristics endow this device with great potential for use in environmental sensors and artificial neural network (ANN) systems.

Conventional implantable electronics based on von Neumann architectures encounter significant limitations in computing and processing vast biological information due to computational bottlenecks. The memristor with integrated memory-computing and low power consumption offer a promising solution to overcome the computational bottleneck and Moore's law limitations of traditional silicon-based implantable devices, making them the most promising candidates for next-generation implantable devices. In this work, a highly stable memristor with an Ag/BaTiO3/MnO2/FTO structure was fabricated, demonstrating retention characteristics exceeding 1200 cycles and endurance above 1000 s. The device successfully exhibited three-stage responses to biological signals after implantation in SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats. Importantly, the memristor perform remarkable reversibility, maintaining over 100 cycles of stable repetition even after extraction from the rat. This study provides a new perspective on the biomedical application of memristors, expanding the potential of implantable memristive devices in intelligent medical fields such as health monitoring and auxiliary diagnostics.

Abstract In-sensor and near-sensor computing are becoming the next-generation computing paradigm for high-density and low-power sensory processing. To fulfil a high-density and efficient neuromorphic visual system with fully hierarchical emulation of the retina and visual cortex, emerging multimodal neuromorphic devices for multi-stage processing and a fully hardware-implemented system with versatile image processing functions are still lacking and highly desirable. Here we demonstrate an emerging multimodal-multifunctional resistive random-access memory (RRAM) device array based on modified silk fibroin protein (MSFP), exhibiting both optoelectronic RRAM (ORRAM) mode featured by unique negative and positive photoconductance memory and electrical RRAM (ERRAM) mode featured by analogue resistive switching. A full hardware implementation of the artificial visual system with versatile image processing functions is realised for the first time, including ORRAM mode array for the in-sensor image pre-processing (contrast enhancement, background denoising, feature extraction) and ERRAM mode array for near-sensor high-level image recognition, which hugely improves the integration density, and simply the circuit design and the fabrication and integration complexity.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) are common bone-immune diseases. The imbalance between helper (Th17) and regulatory T cells (Tregs) produced during differentiation of CD4+ T cells plays a key regulatory role in bone remodelling disorders in RA and PMOP. However, the specific regulatory mechanism of this imbalance in bone remodelling in RA and PMOP has not been clarified. Identifying the regulatory mechanism underlying the Th17/Treg imbalance in RA and PMOP during bone remodelling represents a key factor in the research and development of new drugs for bone immune diseases. In this review, the potential roles of Th17, Treg, and Th17/Treg imbalance in regulating bone remodelling in RA and PMOP have been summarised, and the potential mechanisms by which probiotics, traditional Chinese medicine compounds, and monomers maintain bone remodelling by regulating the Th17/Treg balance are expounded. The maintenance of Th17/Treg balance could be considered as an therapeutic alternative for the treatment of RA and PMOP. This study also summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of conventional treatments and the quality of life and rehabilitation of patients with RA and PMOP. The findings presented her will provide a better understanding of the close relationship between bone immunity and bone remodelling in chronic bone diseases and new ideas for future research, prevention, and treatment of bone immune diseases.

Osteoporosis (OP) is characterized by a decrease in osteoblasts and an increase in adipocytes in the bone marrow compartment, alongside abnormal bone/fat differentiation, which ultimately results in imbalanced bone homeostasis. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) can differentiate into osteoblasts and adipocytes to maintain bone homeostasis. Several studies have shown that lncRNAs are competitive endogenous RNAs that form a lncRNA–miRNA network by targeting miRNA for the regulation of bone/fat differentiation in BMSCs; this mechanism is closely related to the corresponding treatment of OP and is important in the development of novel OP-targeted therapies. However, by reviewing the current literature, it became clear that there are limited summaries discussing the effects of the lncRNA–miRNA network on osteogenic/adipogenic differentiation in BMSCs. Therefore, this article provides a review of the current literature to explore the impact of the lncRNA–miRNA network on the osteogenic/adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs, with the aim of providing a new theoretical basis for the treatment of OP.

In this work, flower-like stannous sulfide (SnS) nanomaterials are synthesized using a hydrothermal method and used as sensitive materials for cataluminescence (CTL)-based detection of diethyl ether. Gas sensors based on SnS nanomaterials are prepared, and the SnS nanomaterials exhibit excellent gas-sensitive behavior towards ether. High sensitivity to ether is achieved at a relatively low operating temperature (153 °C) compared to other common sensors. The response time is 3 s and the recovery time is 8 s. The CTL intensity shows a good linear relationship (R2 = 0.9931) with a detection limit of 0.15 ppm and the concentration of ether in the range of 1.5–60 ppm. The proposed CTL sensor shows good selectivity towards ether. In addition, a highly stable signal is obtained with a relative standard deviation of 1.5%. This study indicates that the SnS-based sensor has excellent gas-sensitive performance and shows potential for applications in the detection of ether.

Abstract Biomaterials‐based electronic devices (BEDs) have remarkable advantages such as biocompatibility and biodegradability, which are expected to have promising prospects in the development of green electronics such as wearable smart sensors and brain‐like synaptic devices. However, the development of BEDs is still in its infancy, and much work remains to be done before this technology can be widely used. Here, a novel corn starch‐based BED with a sandwiched structure of Ag/Corn starch:PVDF/ITO is developed, which has integrated multifunctional performance of capacitive‐coupled memristive memory, flexible mechanical stress sensing, synaptic application, and logic operation. Specifically, this device exhibits a wide memristive voltage operating range (1–16 V), a high bending response current (3.5–4.5 µA), long‐term durability synaptic performance, and logic operation capability. These advantageous characteristics endow this device has a good potential to be used in flexible wearable electronics and artificial intelligence.

Mitochondria are important organelles that provide cellular energy and play a vital role in cell differentiation and apoptosis. Osteoporosis is a chronic metabolic bone disease mainly caused by an imbalance in osteoblast and osteoclast activity. Under physiological conditions, mitochondria regulate the balance between osteogenesis and osteoclast activity and maintain bone homeostasis. Under pathological conditions, mitochondrial dysfunction alters this balance; this disruption is important in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis. Because of the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in osteoporosis, mitochondrial function can be targeted therapeutically in osteoporosis-related diseases. This article reviews different aspects of the pathological mechanism of mitochondrial dysfunction in osteoporosis, including mitochondrial fusion and fission, mitochondrial biogenesis, and mitophagy, and highlights targeted therapy of mitochondria in osteoporosis (diabetes induced osteoporosis and postmenopausal osteoporosis) to provide novel targets and prevention strategies for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and other chronic bone diseases.

In this work, a series of clinoptilolite composites decorated with carbon quantum dots (CQDs/clinoptilolite) with hierarchical pore structures was demonstrated that exhibits good photocatalytic performance for the removal of xylene. The technique for the attachment of carbon quantum dots to clinoptilolite was prepared by a hydrothermal method in this study. The structural features were confirmed by SEM, TEM, EDS, XRD, BET, XPS, and solid diffuse reflection measurements, while the degradation mechanism was investigated by adding a trapping agent into the nanocomposites. The introduction of CQDs promoted the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes as well as the generation of reactive radicals, which effectively improved the light utilization and even increased the degradation rate of xylene by 73% at the optimal state. The photocatalytic test was conducted under a different dwell time, catalyst dosage, initial concentration, and illumination intensity. The results showed that the degradation rate of xylene by the CQDs/clinoptilolite catalyst reached 97.4% under the optimal reaction conditions (the catalyst was Catalyst No. 2, the residence time was 90 s, the initial concentration was 2.5 g/m3, the light intensity was three lamps for irradiation, and the catalyst dosage was 0.05 g). In addition, the degradation efficiency of the CQDs/clinoptilolite photocatalyst still reached 78% after eight consecutive catalytic regeneration cycles. This work sheds new light on the degradation of xylene.

Summary: Memristor-based Pavlov associative memory circuit presented today only realizes the simple condition reflex process. The secondary condition reflex endows the simple condition reflex process with more bionic, but it is only demonstrated in design and involves the large number of redundant circuits. A FeOx-based memristor exhibits an evolution process from battery-like capacitance (BLC) state to resistive switching (RS) memory as the I-V sweeping increase. The BLC is triggered by the active metal ion and hydroxide ion originated from water molecule splitting at different interfaces, while the RS memory behavior is dominated by the diffusion and migration of ion in the FeOx switching function layer. The evolution processes share the nearly same biophysical mechanism with the second-order conditioning. It enables a hardware-implemented second-order associative memory circuit to be feasible and simple. This work provides a novel path to realize the associative memory circuit with the second-order conditioning at hardware level.

In this report, eco-friendly and low-cost pyrite tailings are utilized as denitrification materials, while pyrite and magnetite are used as the control experimental groups to explore the denitrification performance of pyrite tailings. The results show that the removal effect of pyrite tailings on NO3− is slightly lower than that of pyrite. However, the concentration of NH4+ decreased, and the effluent SO42- concentration was lower than that of pyrite. In addition, pyrite with different particle sizes is prepared by the ball milling method, and the effect of particle size on the denitrification performance of pyrite is studied. The results show that with the decrease in particle size, microorganisms are more likely to use S in tailings as electron donors, the denitrification rate is faster, and the denitrification effect was better at the same time.

Semiconductor-based composites are potential anodes for Li-ion batteries, owing to their high theoretical capacity and low cost. However, low stability induced by large volumetric change in cycling restricts the applications of such composites. Here, a hierarchical SnO2@Ni6MnO8 composite comprising Ni6MnO8 nanoflakes growing on the surface of a three-dimensional (3D) SnO2 is developed by a hydrothermal synthesis method, achieving good electrochemical performance as a Li-ion battery anode. The composite provides spaces to buffer volume expansion, its hierarchical profile benefits the fast transport of Li+ ions and electrons, and the Ni6MnO8 coating on SnO2 improves conductivity. Compared to SnO2, the Ni6MnO8 coating significantly enhances the discharge capacity and stability. The SnO2@Ni6MnO8 anode displays 1030 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 and exhibits 800 mAh g−1 under 0.5 A g−1, along with high Coulombic efficiency of 95%. Furthermore, stable rate performance can be achieved, indicating promising applications.

A CdS/SnS nanocomposite was prepared using a simple hydrothermal method and used as a sensitive material for the detection of carbon disulfide (CS2) based on cataluminescence (CTL). The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results show that the CdS/SnS nanocomposite sensor has a high sensitivity to CS2 at a relatively low operating temperature (162 °C); the response time is about 3 s, and the recovery time is about 16 s. The modification of CdS effectively enhances the sensitivity of SnS sensors. The CTL intensity shows a good linear relationship at gas concentrations ranging from 6.75 to 168.75 ppm (R2 = 09974), and the limit of detection (LOD) of CS2 reached 0.96 ppm. In addition, the CdS/SnS sensor has excellent selectivity and good stability towards CS2. The mechanism of the sensor is discussed in detail. This research shows that CdS/SnS has great potential for the detection of CS2.

Pheochromocytoma with lung metastases is rare in clinics, and the prognosis of metastatic pheochromocytoma is generally poor. In this case, a 57-year-old woman who presented with hypertension and palpitations was diagnosed with left adrenal pheochromocytoma with lung metastasis in 2010. The patient received left adrenalectomy for pheochromocytoma 10 years ago, but pulmonary lesions had significant progression 7 years ago. The patient was treated with iodine-125 (125I) seed implantation for pulmonary lesions. All of the 5 pulmonary lesions achieved partial response 6 months later, further shrank 1 year later, and were successfully controlled for 7 years. This case indicated that 125I seed implantation could be an alternative local therapy for metastatic pheochromocytoma in the lung.

Abstract The negative photoconductance (NPC) effect, defined as an increase in resistance upon exposure to illumination, holds great potential for application in photoelectric devices. A prepared memristor with the structure of Ag|graphene quantum dots (GQDs)|TiOx|F‐doped SnO2 exhibits typical bipolar resistive switching (RS) memory behavior. The NPC effect is impressively observed in the high resistance state branch of the RS memory, enabling the memristor function to be extended to both memory logic display and multistate data storage. The observed NPC effect is attributed to the excitation, migration, and compensation of oxygen vacancy at the GQDs/TiOx interface, at which the electron transportation is efficiently restricted because of the variation in the charge distribution and electrostatic potential under illumination. Experiments, theoretical calculations, and physical models are used to provide engineer the interface with the aim of building the NPC effect in the memristive device. These results unveil a new horizon on extending the functionality of the memristor.

A novel two-dimensional nanocomposite Pt/Ti3C2Tx-CNT was synthesized for the non-invasive rapid detection of toluene, a lung cancer biomarker, via cataluminescence (CTL). Pt/Ti3C2Tx-CNT exhibited a good catalytic performance toward toluene. The CTL sensor based on Pt/Ti3C2Tx-CNT has the advantage of rapid response: The average response time was about 1 s, and the average recovery time was about 30 s. Moreover, the material has a wide scope of detection for toluene, and the limit of detection defined as 3 S/N was about 2 ppm. The optimal working temperature (150 °C) is lower than common sensors, so it has a broad prospect in the actual detection process. Aside from its weak response to formaldehyde, the sensor only exerted a strong response signal to toluene, and no response was observed to other VOCs, indicating that this CTL sensor has good selectivity for toluene. The possible sensing mechanism of CTL showed that toluene was oxidized to generate excited-state CO2*, which emitted a luminescent signal when it returned to the ground state.

In order to improve the removal ability of nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants from sewage with low C/N ratio, this study prepared the glucose polymer-based pyrite tailings with core-shell structure through glucose polymerizing on the surface of pyrite tailings particles and constructed a heterotrophic-sulfur autotrophic mixed-denitrification system. The experimental results show that compared with ordinary pyrite tailings, pyrite tailings modified by glucose polymer can improve the water quality of pH, enhance the ability to remove NO3− in water, and prolong the ability of mineral to continuously treat sewage, which also has a good removal effect on PO43− in water. The results of this study are of great significance to solve the excessive nitrogen and phosphorus in the secondary effluent and alleviate the eutrophication of the natural water.

In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless communication, the traditional cellular with isomorphic and regular structure has been unable to meet the increasing number of users and business needs involving data of big volume. The trend is evolving into Ultra Dense Network (UDN) architecture which is covered by cellular of irregular complex structure. In UDN, the spatial distribution of the base station plays an important role in the interference and performance evaluation of the whole cellular network, and the concept of green communication has also been put on agenda. In this paper, stochastic geometry theory is used to model UDN and to analyze the key performance of interference and wireless network. Moreover, a green communication strategy called TRSC is proposed, which is aimed at saving energy and reducing the signal interference among cells to a certain extent.

It is well know that the high temperature annealing can improve the permeability and reduce the hysteresis loss of soft magnetic composites (SMCs), but the eddy current loss would be accordingly increased. Thus, developing SMCs with high permeability and low core loss remains a challenge. Herein, we prepared a kind of Fe/Fe3O4-FeSiAl soft magnetic composites by replacing some Fe powders with FeSiAl, possessing high permeability and low core loss. In the fabricating process, reduced iron powders were coated with a FexOy insulating layer by surface oxidation method and the Fe/FexOy and FeSiAl alloy powders were used as raw materials to fabricate Fe/FexOy and Fe/FexOy-FeSiAl SMCs. Moreover, the optimum content of FeSiAl powders and the effects of high temperature annealing on the structure and performance of Fe/FexOy and Fe/FexOy-FeSiAl SMCs was investigated. These results of XRD, XPS and FTIR showed the Fe2O3 and Fe-OH existing in the FexOy insulating coating is gradually transformed to Fe3O4 under annealed at 550 ℃, and the permeability and eddy current loss were greatly increased for Fe/FexOy SMCs. However, the permeability was highly increased but the eddy current loss stay unchangeable for Fe/FexOy-FeSiAl SMCs. These results strongly demonstrated the Fe/Fe3O4-FeSiAl SMCs have high permeability and low core loss. Keywords: Soft magnetic composites, Surface oxidation, High permeability, Low core loss

It has been gradually realized that the sustainable electronic devices are of great prospects for sustainable applications in electronic technology products. From another point of view, a device with multiple physical performances would be a potential candidate for next generation multifunctional electronics. In this report, a flexible memory device based on sweet potato skin (SPS) was demonstrated, which presented a stable memory performance over 500 cycles and a large switching resistance ratio, and the current-voltage (I-V) hysteretic loop accompanied by capacitance effect and negative differential resistance state. In order to carry out detailed mechanism analysis, two materials (ITO or Ti) with different work functions as the bottom electrode and Ag as the top electrode were used to prepare two memristive devices. It can be confirmed that the conductive behavior obeys Schottky emission and direct tunneling at low voltage region, while it follows the hopping conduction at high voltage region. In a word, the selected SPS, a sustainable waste material, can be employed to prepare bioelectronic devices, which has a potential application value in green electronic products.

Among many types of batteries, Li-ion and Li-S batteries have been of great interest because of their high energy density, low self-discharge, and non-memory effect, among other aspects. Emerging applications require batteries with higher performance factors, such as capacity and cycling life, which have motivated many research efforts on constructing high-performance anode and cathode materials. Herein, recent research about cathode materials are particularly focused on. Low electron and ion conductivities and poor electrode stability remain great challenges. Three-dimensional (3D) porous nanostructures commonly exhibit unique properties, such as good Li+ ion diffusion, short electron transfer pathway, robust mechanical strength, and sufficient space for volume change accommodation during charge/discharge, which make them promising for high-performance cathodes in batteries. A comprehensive summary about some cutting-edge investigations of Li-ion and Li-S battery cathodes is presented. As demonstrative examples, LiCoO2, LiMn2O4, LiFePO4, V2O5, and LiNi1−x−yCoxMnyO2 in pristine and modified forms with a 3D porous structure for Li-ion batteries are introduced, with a particular focus on their preparation methods. Additionally, S loaded on 3D scaffolds for Li-S batteries is discussed. In addition, the main challenges and potential directions for next generation cathodes have been indicated, which would be beneficial to researchers and engineers developing high-performance electrodes for advanced secondary batteries.

Gas environment detection has become more urgent and significant, for both industrial manufacturing and environment monitoring. Gas sensors based on a catalytically-sensing mechanism are one of the most important types of devices for gas detection, and have been of great interest during the past decades. However, even though many efforts have contributed to this area, some great challenges still remain, such as the development of sensitively and selectively sensing catalysts. In this review, two representative catalysis-based gas sensors, cataluminescent and conductometric sensors, the basis of optical and electric signal acquisition, respectively, are summarized comprehensively. The current challenges have been presented. Recent research progress on the working mechanism, sensing nanomaterials, and applications reported by our group and some other researchers have been discussed systematically. Fe-Co-S (FeCoS) nanomaterials with good recycling abilities were prepared by a hydrothermal method, and their adsorption properties twords Rhodamine B (RhB) were investigated. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, Brunel Emmett Taylor (BET) surface area, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to characterize the materials and analyze their physicochemical properties. The effects of temperature, pH, and adsorbent dosage on the adsorption performance of FeCoS were also investigated. The results showed that the equilibrium time for the adsorption of rhodamine B by FeCoS was 150 min. The adsorption process followed the Langmuir isotherm with a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. It suggests that the adsorption is mainly controlled by chemisorption and belongs to homogeneous monolayer adsorption. The thermodynamic fitting of the adsorption process showed that the adsorption of RhB by FeCoS is spontaneous and accompanied by an endothermic reaction, and the maximum adsorption capacity reached 578.03 mg/g at 318 K with a removal rate of 98.3%. The removal rate of FeCoS was maintained at 89.95% after five cycles, which was of great potential for practical application in the treatment of dyestuff wastewater. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
