This article focuses on the use of bards, and oral culture in the works by Thomas Gray. According to the author, the practice of bards, and oral culture in the works of Gray was not unusual since its growth in mid eighteenth century. It discusses the use of bards in mid eighteenth century in Great Britain, the criticism in Gray's poetry "The Bard," and Gray's use of oral prophesy, weaving, and typography. The author inferred that Gray was more interested in print, and literary marketplace than what most people believe.
