The incidence of atypical femoral fractures (AFFs) was 2.95% among 6644 hip and femoral fractures. Independent risk factors included the use of bisphosphonates (BPs), osteopenia or osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, increased femoral curvatures, and thicker femoral cortices. Patients with AFFs and BP treatment were more likely to have problematic healing than those with typical femoral fractures (TFFs) and no BP treatment. Proposes efficient postprocessing algorithms for error correction in handwritten Hangul (Korean script) address and human name recognition. As the load on the character recognizer for the recognition of the administrative district part in addresses was reduced by restricting the candidate characters to be matched based on a hierarchical address lexicon, the processing speed and recognition rate were greatly improved. Also, the misrecognition results from the character recognizer were corrected by using efficient postprocessing algorithms based on backtracking. For the recognition of the human name part, misrecognition of human names could be effectively corrected by combining the a priori probability and the confusion probability of each character making up the human names. >

Conventional SiO/sub 2/ gate oxide is found to show enhanced degradation due to cumulative plasma-induced damages as processed through back-end. However, an alternate oxynitride gate dielectric, namely, NO-nitrided SiO/sub 2/, demonstrates excellent immunity to plasma charging. It is observed that compared to SiO/sub 2/, NO-nitrided oxides show suppressed dependence of damage on charging collection area. A systematic study of effects of NO-anneal condition on the degree of resistance to charging shows that even minimal thermal budgets are capable of producing high quality gate oxides.
