Background :Academic stress is the major cause of stress in graduate and post graduate students and is a concern for mental health problems in students .Perceived academic stress may occur in response to examination .Covid-19 caused a paradigm shift from offline to online teaching-learning and examination .The online mode of examination may lead to variation in perceived academic stress of examination in graduate and post graduate Indian students. The perceived academic stress response to online mode of examination post covid-19 and the factors leading to it have not been identified. Aim and objectives : To find the level of perception of academic stress of online examination in graduate and post graduate Indian students post covid19 and identify the major factors leading to perception of academic stress. The objective was to identify the variation in perceived academic stress in response to online examination in graduate and post graduate students and study the corelation between demographic variables and perceived academic stress in both graduate and postgraduate students . Study design : A cross sectional study. Methods and Material :Step 1 was to create a google form (basic demographic data and perception of academic stress scale ).

Electrocatalytic water splitting is one of the key technologies for future energy systems envisioned for the storage of energy obtained from variable renewables and green fuels.

Crack detection at an early stage is necessary to save people’s lives and to prevent the collapse of building/bridge structures. Manual crack detection is time-consuming, especially when a building structure is too high. Image processing, machine learning, and deep learning-based methods can be used in such scenarios to build an automatic crack detection system. This study uses a novel deep convolutional neural network, 3SCNet (3ScaleNetwork), for crack detection. The SLIC (Simple Linear Iterative Clustering) segmentation method forms the cluster of similar pixels and the LBP (Local Binary Pattern) finds the texture pattern in the crack image. The SLIC, LBP, and grey images are fed to 3SCNet to form pool of feature vector. This multi-scale feature fusion (3SCNet+LBP+SLIC) method achieved the highest sensitivity, specificity, an accuracy of 99.47%, 99.75%, and 99.69%, respectively, on a public historical building crack dataset. It shows that using SLIC super pixel segmentation and LBP can improve the performance of the CNN (Convolution Neural Network). The achieved performance of the model can be used to develop a real-time crack detection system.

Background: India has the highest burden of Tuberculosis in the world, having about one-fourth of the total global incident cases of the disease in 2017. The RNTCP program started many newer initiatives in 2015 to improve compliance and treatment outcomes, reduce the incidence of resistance and control the TB-HIV co-infection. Objectives: To assess the improvement in patient compliance, to find out and compare the improvement in nutritional status of the patients after initiation of treatment and Direct Benefit Transfer and to compare the treatment outcomes of the enrolled subjects in the two areas. Material and Method: Data was collected from the DOTS centers under CHC, Muradnagar and TB and Chest Hospital Karawal Nagar, between January 2019 to September 2019. Details of the enrolled patients were taken from the centers and these patients were contacted individually. Of the registered patients, 59 patients from Muradnagar, Ghaziabad and 70 from Karawal Nagar, Delhi had completed treatment at the time of data collection and they were further evaluated for different parameters. Results: 62% of the registered patients at DOTS centre, Muradnagar, had completed treatment, 35.1% were cured, 1.7% died during treatment while only 1.2% of the patients did not show good compliance. 54% of the registered patients at DOTS centre of Karawalnagar, East Delhi, had completed treatment, 25.5% were cured, 2.7% of the patients had died during treatment while only 2.7% of the total patients did not show good compliance. More number of patients registered at Ghaziabad had either completed the treatment or were cured (97.1%) as compared to Delhi (79.5%). The mean gain in weight was 5.39 kg and 5.04 kg for Ghaziabad and Delhi respectively. This gain in weight had no relationship with Direct Benefit Transfer.

PURPOSE: The goal of this study is to evaluate the utilization and outcomes of temporary mechanical circulatory support (MCS) among patients listed for cardiac transplantation (CT). There is a constant threat of sudden clinical deterioration in these patients that could necessitate emergent MCS. All advanced heart failure and transplant centers in India are plagued by issues of late referrals, low organ donation rates, and financial constraints. Here, we share our experience and explain our evolving strategies tailored to improve outcomes. METHODS: Single-center retrospective analysis of temporary MCS implanted in patients listed for CT from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2019. RESULTS: A total of 35 patients had 41 MCS implantations. Twenty-four cases were pre-transplant and 11 cases were post-transplant. Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenator was the most commonly (20 cases, 44.4%) used MCS modality. Primary outcome of in-hospital mortality was noted in 17 patients (48.5%) in this high-risk profile. All but 2 of the 12 patients that underwent pre-transplant MCS, and were bridged to cardiac transplant, survived the index hospitalization accounting for 90% survival in this subset of patients. The secondary outcome of MCS-related vascular injury was observed in 9 patients (25.7%). CONCLUSION: This single-center observational study demonstrates that early planning and timely institution of MCS improves outcomes in high-risk MCS patients bridged to cardiac transplant. The incidence of MCS-related vascular complications can be improved with development of standard operating protocols.

The possibilities to resolve the exponential increase in energy demand using water splitting have also triggered huge worldwide attention towards the oxygen evolution reaction using an efficient, earth-abundant and low-cost electrocatalyst. Transition metal sulfides have been established as an excellent hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst but their oxygen evolution reaction behaviour is still little explored and needs further investigations. The oxygen evolution reaction has huge potential for fuel cell and metal–air battery applications. Herein MoS2 nanolayers having interlayer spacing were hierarchically grown over N-doped carbon wrapped cobalt nanospheres derived from a cobalt-based metal–organic framework. The catalyst Co@NC@MoS2 has a low overpotential of 297 mV vs. RHE at a 10 mA cm−2 current density. The catalyst has long term stability with a Tafel slope value of 70 mV dec−1. A chronoamperometric study for more than 10 hours does not show any significant change in the current density of the catalyst.

Hydrogen is one of the cleanest forms of energy carrier which can solve the twin problem of exhaustion of fossil fuels and climate change. The exploration of low-cost and earth-abundant electrocatalysts for hydrogen generation process is an emerging area of research. Profound catalyst tailoring with mutually contrast phases on a porous support for crafting large hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) active sites increases the catalytic activity in many folds. Herein, a porous silica-supported molybdenum phosphide and molybdenum carbide nanoparticle (SiMoCP) has been synthesized. The intermingled porous molybdenum carbide and molybdenum phosphide nanohybrid shows excellent catalytic activity toward hydrogen evolution. Such a modified nanostructured electrocatalyst enhances the electrode-electrolyte interaction and suppresses the charge transfer resistance. As a result, the electrocatalyst (SiMoCP) accomplishes very high HER activity with an onset potential of 53 mV and an overpotential of 88 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2 in the acidic medium. Furthermore, the SiMoCP catalyst showed a Tafel slope value of 37 mV dec-1 with long-term durability of 5000 cycles.

The present study aims to determine the impact of COVID-19 pandemic confinement on air quality among populous sites of four major metropolitan cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai) from January 1, 2020 to May 31, 2020 by analyzing particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ammonia (NH3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and ozone levels. The most prominent pollutant concerning air quality index (AQI) was determined by Pearson's correlation analysis and unpaired Welch's two-sample t test was carried out to measure the statistically significant reduction in average AQI for all the four sites. AQI significantly plummeted by 44%, 59%, 59%, and 6% in ITO-Delhi, Worli-Mumbai, Jadavpur-Kolkata, and Manali Village-Chennai respectively. The findings conclude a significant improvement in air quality with respect to reduction of 49-73%, 17-63%, 30-74%, and 15-58% in the mean concentration of PM2.5, PM10, NH3, and SO2 respectively during the confinement for the studied locations. The p values for all of the four studied locations were found significantly less than the 5% level of significance for Welch's t test analysis. In addition, reduced AQI values were highly correlated with prominent pollutants (PM2.5 and PM10) during Pearson's correlation analysis. These positive results due to pandemic imprisonment might aid to alter the current policies and strategies of pollution control for a safe and sustainable environment. Graphical abstract.

Introduction: Measurement of bone or any part of human body provides accurate knowledge about morphology of the structure which helps the clinicians in diagnosing and treating various diseases. Due to present lifestyle and with its speed, it has resulted in increase in the incidence of assaults on the vertebral column in the form of different spinal pathologies such as prolapsed intervertebral discs, spondylolisthesis, spondylosis, fractures [1]. The horizontal diameter of pedicle decides the screw diameter. The transverse (width) and vertical (height) parameters of pedicle help in determining the screw path. So, the pedicle morphometry becomes important in the selection of most suited pedicle screw. The morphometry of the pedicle may vary from population to population. Aims and objectives: To investigate the variability of the morphology and provide morphometric data of crucial parameters useful for accurate designing and placement of lumber pedicle screw. The result of this study can be used to carry out larger studies. Method and Materials: This prospective study is based on Salim A. Lad et al. [2]. Data was collected by CT scan measurement of the pedicles along with its parameters (vertical height and width), and was compared with other associated studies with a collection of a mixed group of 80 patients age group of 18–60 years admitted to R.N.T Medical College and M. B. Hospital, Udaipur. Result: The mean L1 pedicle width from left is 7.20mm and from right side is 7.23, L2 pedicle width from left is 7.88 and from right side is 7.90, L3 pedicle width from left is 9.20 and from right side is 9.23, L4 pedicle width from left is 10.5 and from right side is 10.51 and L5 pedicle width from left is 12.7 and from right side is 12.7mm. Conclusion: In the present study we have made an attempt to understand the morphometry of the lumbar pedicles to decrease the risk of postoperative complications. The present study concludes that the different dimensions of the pedicle which have been studied would be of great help for successful pedicle screw fixation and also for quantification of spinal stenosis. There are, of course, a few limitations in our study.

One-fourth of global neonatal deaths occur in India alone. Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) was launched with the purpose of improving healthcare services, including neonatal survival primarily in rural areas. The aim of this study is to determine the status of ASHA's knowledge, practices, and attitude regarding Home Based Newborn Care (HBNC) services, as well as to provide necessary trainings for improvement of their performance.For this study, 102 ASHA working in Doiwala were recruited at random, and Quasi Experimental Design - Multiple Observation Method (single group time series design) was adopted. The data were collected using pretested tools consisting of knowledge questionnaires, attitude scale, and practices and skill-based questionnaires on various domains of HBNC. The data from the ASHA were collected 4 times at a regular interval of 30 days. Each time, the assessment of ASHA was accompanied by re-education and training on HBNC.Even though, about 90% of ASHA had been working for more than 5 years, they possessed average knowledge regarding HBNC before the training. Less than 50% of them were aware of mandatory vaccines and infection care services for newborns. About 70% of them were uninformed about the potential risk of hypothermia in neonates and also lacked knowledge regarding its preventive measures. Their knowledge, practices and attitude regarding HBNC was significantly improved after the training (p ˂ 0.05). About 54% of ASHA became aware of the avoidance of pre-lacteal feeding in newborns. Their practices score regarding prevention of hypothermia was increased from 80% to 95%. The number of ASHA who understood the importance of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) was also increased from 56% to 87%. About 95% of the ASHA understood the significance of feeding breast milk to newborns. Moreover, the attitude of ASHA towards the traditional way of newborn care such as early bathing, giving pre-lacteal feed, application of turmeric and ghee to the umbilicus of baby etc. was significant improved.ASHA must be assessed regularly in order to identify their basic needs, knowledge gaps, challenges and difficulties to quality HBNC services. Proper training on HBNC at regular interval significantly improved their knowledge, practices, and attitude toward their responsibilities, which is crucial for improving newborn health status.

Developing highly competent and low-cost earth-plentiful metal-based oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts is critical for future electrochemical conversion technologies and renewable energy systems. Herein, two cobalt-based metal-organic frameworks (Co-MOFs), [Co6(btc)2(DMF)6(HCOO)6] (2D, MOF 1) and [Co3(CHOO)9{DMA}3] (3D, MOF 2), where btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide, and DMA = dimethylamine, have been crystallized under hydrothermal conditions, from a single reaction. MOF 1 shows an extraordinary OER performance with 175 mV overpotential to attain 10 mA cm-2 current density with a low Tafel slope value of 80 mV dec-1, whereas MOF 2 achieves 10 mA cm-2 current density at 389 mV overpotential. Two different architecture-based MOFs have been synthesized from a single solution for the very first time. Also, the OER activity of MOF 1 overpowers the commercially used RuO2 and surpasses most of the reported OER electrocatalysts. Post OER characterization of MOF 1 revealed the in situ formation of Co(OH)2 and CoOOH, acting as active sites for the OER process.

Positive anti-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies are considered a contraindication for cardiac transplantation in India, due to its negative impact on cardiac allograft survival and increased chances of rejection post-transplant. Single antigen bead (SAB) assay helps to further characterize these antibodies. Our case portrays India’s first reported successful cardiac transplant utilizing a virtual crossmatch (VXM)-based approach in a patient with positive anti-HLA antibody screen and SAB assay. We propose that adopting such an approach, in select cases, in India is certainly feasible. This approach would lead to increasing the potential donor pool and mitigate the chances of post-transplant rejection. With increased demands, the SAB assay cost would reduce, further improving its cost-effectiveness.

Natural fibrils derived from biomass were used as a template to synthesize uniformly decorated nanoparticles (10–12 nm) of molybdenum carbide (Mo2C) and molybdenum nitride (Mo2N) supported on carbon. The nanoparticles have been synthesized through the carburization and nitridation of molybdenum on cotton fibrils, using a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The catalyst exhibits an onset potential of 110 mV and an overpotential of 167 mV to derive a cathodic current density of 10 mA cm–2. The electrocatalyst also demonstrates excellent long-term durability of more than 2500 cycles in acidic media with a Tafel slope value of 62 mV dec–1.

Background: Pediatric heart transplantation is a now a well-established and standard treatment option for end stage heart failure for various conditions in children. Due to logistic issues, it is not an option for in most pediatric cardiac centres in the third world. Aim: We sought to describe our early experience in the current era in India. Methods: This is a short term retrospective chart review of pediatric patients who underwent heart transplantation at our centre. Mean/Median with standard deviation /range was used to present data. Results: Twenty patients underwent orthotopic heart transplant between January 2016 and June 2019. The median age at transplant was 12.4years (range 3.3 to 17.3 years). The median weight was 23.2kg (range 10-80kg). The mean donor/recipient weight ratio was 1.62± 0.84. The mean ICU stay was 12.1days. The mean follow up post transplant was 2.03± 0.97years (range 10 days-3.57years). The 1 month and the 1 year survival was 100%. Biopsies were positive for significant rejection in 7 patients (35%). At the time of last follow-up, 3 patients (15%) had expired. The major post transplant morbidities were mechanical circulatory support (n=3), hypertension with seizure complex (n=3), post transplant lympho-proliferative disorder (n=1), pseudocyst of pancreas (n=1), coronary allograft vasculopathy (n=3) and systemic hypertension (n=7). All surviving patients (n=17) were asymptomatic at last follow up. Conclusion: The results suggest acceptable short term outcomes in Indian pediatric patients can be achieved after heart transplantation in the current era. Significant rejection episodes and coronary allograft vasculopathy need careful follow up.

Background: Child feeding practices are the major contributors to the growth of children and have a crucial impact on the nutritional status of children. Awareness about the role of breastfeeding and complementary foods along with the knowledge about their nutritional benefits for the development, growth of infants is very important especially in rural areas. Objective: To know breastfeeding practices and nutritional status among children with focus on strengthening these practices to improve the health of infants in Uttarakhand. Material and Methods: Z-score test for two population proportions was used for specifying the significance level and test P-value was used for comparing the state i.e. Uttarakhand and its districts according to the two divisions namely, Kumaon and Garhwal. Results: In Kumaon division, the districts with healthy child feeding practices was observed were Udham Singh Nagar and Bageshwar, whereas in Garhwal division, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, and Rudraprayag were the districts with better practices as compared to the whole state. It was also observed that Garhwal division is rated higher than Kumaon division for best child feeding practices adopted while raising children. Conclusion: Through this study, it has been concluded that breastfeeding was prevalent in rural women but there lies a scope of improvement in their knowledge pertaining to the feeding practices. In this research, an attempt was made to solve the problem of identifying and classifying different species of Pediastrum with the aid of CNN based deep learning model. The informational collection comprising of 12,000 algal pictures was being utilized by, AlexNet CNN (Convolution Neural Network) model for the training and validating purposes. The features like the presence of sporopollenin in the cell wall, the structures and the functions of the cells, and the structural properties of coenobia make the basis for automated classification by AlexNet deep learning model. The efficacy of the proposed approach is demonstrated by an experimental outcome of 99.54 percent classification accuracy with precision and Fl-score more than 0.98.

For identification of different Pediastrum species in a sample, the determination of microscopic feature and colony morphology are the preliminary steps before sending them to the higher genomic and proteomic level. Great efforts with high expertise are required for the time-consuming manual process. In the present study, the first time an effort has been done to address the problem for identification and classification of Pediastrum species with the help of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The modified ResNeXt CNN (Convolution Neural Network) model is used for training and validation of the data set consisting of 42,000 algal images. Modified ResNeXt CNN topology differentiates cells based on the formation of coenobia, cell arrangement and feature and particularly the sculptures on the outer sporopollenin cell-wall layers. An experimental result of 98.45% classification accuracy and F1-score more than 0.98 demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. In the future, such time and cost-effective facilities can be used as promising sources for phycological studies.

Background: India was the first country to start family planning program in 1952. In the first 50 years there have been many changes in India. The family planning program name was changed from time to time. At the present scenario, its name is Reproductive and Child Health. In this study, authors evaluate utilization of family planning services with an objective to compare distribution of family planning services between the two regions of Uttarakhand: Garhwal and Kumaon.Methods: In this study, data mining was done using secondary database with the permission from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) NFHS-4 data to carried out during 2015-2016 in Uttarakhand, India and estimate of the values for all the parameters of Family Planning was estimated. A statistical Z-score test was performed in the estimated of proportions in all study parameters of the family planning.Results: The study indicates that between the two divisions Garhwal has more utilization of family planning services as comparatively higher than Kumaon. Pithoragarh from the Kumaon division has more utilization proportion of family planning services in comparison to the other districts in the division, while Almora were recorded as the minimum use of family planning services. Uttarkashi in Garhwal region accounted for major proportion of utilization of family planning services, while Haridwar had minor proportions.Conclusions: Though overall utilization of family planning services of Uttarakhand is far better than other states in India but between the two divisions, Kumaon requires more attention in terms of utilizing services and awareness programmes. In fact, certain districts in Garhwal also require intervention from the Government to improve health quality. Both hilly and urban districts have different issues, which needs to be targeted to improve the health quality of the state.

The polynomial model is assumed for the cumulative distribution of diabetic patients associated with age and the fitted model provides statistically significant values providing R2= 0.99998 and ρcv2= 0.999983 and shrink-age coefficient=0.00001414. This is the polynomial of degree three, i.e. cubic polynomial model. From this statistic we see that the fitted models are highly cross-validated, and their shrinkages are 0.004842857 and 0.00001414 for the models (1) and (2) respectively.Conclusions: It is discovered that the distribution of diabetic patients for both genders related with age takes after bi-quadratic polynomial model. In addition, it is found that cumulative distribution of diabetic patients takes as cubic polynomial model. Cross validity prediction power is utilized to the fitted model to verify the stability of the model in this study.

Oral cancer is one of the most critical health problems faced by the mankind today. Cancer is a result of multiple genetic defects resulting from exposure to environmental and infectious agents. Most of the oral cancers are associated with tobacco use and some are attributed to inappropriate nutritional habits. Tobacco chewing is a unique habit of Indian, southeast Asian subcontinent and is consumed commonly in the form of pan, gutka, etc. Furthermore, cancer prevention strategies can be applied by upregulating the defense mechanism, inducing cancer cells to apoptosis and decreasing angiogenesis of cancer cells. Nutritional factors play a key role in cancer impediment by increasing the intake of vegetables and fruits. This paper is an effort to draw the attention towards the significant role of diet in cancer prevention and associated mechanisms with its carcinogenesis.
