Different tests are used to evaluate the aerobic capacity of a person. This study aims to investigate the gender and Body Mass Index (BMI) difference in aerobic capacity measured by using shuttle and Spartacus test. The study was conducted on 230 high school students (135 girls and 95 boys) followed their study in public establishment in kenitra city (Morocco). All participants were classified according to their gender (male vs. female) and their BMI (normal weight vs. overweight-obese) and performed the both test of shuttle and Spartacus. Running speed at the last completed stage, run time, maximum heart rate (max HR) max HR and perceived exertion were measured and analyzed. For each test, VO2max was estimated by using the proposed equation. There was significant BMI difference in the measured parameters (p<0.001). Difference in VO2max between male and female remained significant with high-speed level in boys. A significant difference between males and females (p < 0.001) was observed in shuttle test. Participants with normal weight or physical activity had good aerobic capacity. Compared to the Shuttle test, the Spartacus provides a 11.5% higher final speed (11.2 vs. 9.7km/h) and a total test time 2.3 times longer (11.3vs. 4.9 min) (p < 0.001). Our study underlines the interest of the Spartacus test and is preliminary. Indeed, these results must now be replicated in a larger sample of obese adolescents [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Burnout or occupational exhaustion syndrome is a neuropsychological disorder resulting from chronic stress at work. Employees of private companies are highly exposed to this risk because of the overload of work in addition to the long daily working hours. We have therefore conducted a study whose aim is to assess the prevalence of burnout and its components, as well as to study socio-professional determinants among employees. We tested 102 employees aged between 22 and 60 years with an average age of 36.76 years ± 10.5 years. 77% were men and 24% were women. They were asked to complete freely and anonymously a general information sheet and the MBI questionnaire “Maslach Burn-out Inventory” in its French version with language adaptation. This consists of 22 items, evaluating three dimensions: emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and personal accomplishment (PA). A score was calculated and a rating in the degree of severity (low, moderate and high) was given for each of the dimensions, according to internationally accepted standards. The analysis of the results showed a high prevalence of burnout. Statistical analyses show that the rate of burnout in the age group over 40 equals 47.2% against 31.8% only among employees aged under 40. Similarly, the burnout rate among women is about the same as men (p=0.977). Emotional exhaustion (EE) is the most widespread component in exhausted subjects. It was found to be high for 14.7% of employees; while depersonalization (DP) or high cynicism affects only 3.9% of subjects. Significant links between depersonalization and gender as well as professional seniority are obtained. Concerning the level of schooling, the rate of burnout decreases when the school level increases but without significance (p = 0.474). The rate of burnout is high among executing workers followed by senior managers. However, this link remains statistically insignificant. Concerning seniority, we note that the prevalence of burnout increases with professional seniority and even in the meaningless position. We also observe a higher rate of burnout among employees withcompany seniority of less than 10 years in addition to the oldest, but without any meaning. Professional exhaustion or burnout exists strongly in Moroccan companies. In order to be able to adapt to the rapid development of the market and its increased demands, it is essential that business leaders prevent this pathology by improving the psychosocial work environment. The poliovirus was declared extinct in 1988. In Morocco, the most recent case of wild poliovirus (WPV) was reported in 1989. From 1994 to 2018, Kenitra's polio topographical and etiological epidemiology were described using WHO-recommended polio surveillance criteria. This retrospective descriptive study was conducted following WHO guidelines to examine the topographic and etiological factors that contribute to acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) in Kénitra, Morocco. Patients were recruited from several communities in the Kenitra province throughout a 25-year period, from January 1, 1994, to December 31, 2018. From 1994 to 2018, 76 cases of AFP were reported. The children ranged in age from 3 months to 14 years old; 52% were under the age of 5, and 58.67% were boys. At the time of paralysis onset, 57.33% of children had a fever, and 16% had asymmetric paralysis. The most common diagnosis was Guillain-Barré syndrome (59%), and 72% of sick children received more than three doses of the polio vaccine. Good coverage was obtained due to the national immunization program, as evidenced by the vaccination status. All cases were classified as non-polio AFP. There were no reports of poliovirus, and the vaccination status suggests that there was enough coverage due to the national immunization program. Morocco is vulnerable to the reintroduction of wild viruses due to its geographical location and constant intake of immigrants. Background: Work stress or job-strain and iso-strain are perceived when there is a conflict between the demands placed on a person and their resources to cope with them. They have negative effects on worker health, and organizational productivity and performance. Our study consists of evaluating work stress and its components. Material/Methods: 102 workers of different functions (senior managers, supervisors, technicians and executing workers) volunteered and were invited to complete anonymously the Karasek questionnaire (JCQ). Results: The analysis of the results showed a significant prevalence of iso-strain and job-strain. Thus, low decision latitude and high psychological demands are the most widespread stress factors. Conclusions: These results show the need to disseminate information and prevention programs against work stress to managers and staff to ensure the effective performance of a company. Background: Depending on its stage, stress influences cognitive functions. Indeed, several authors have ensured the degradation of cognitive functions by stress. Others did not find any association between the two. A third group of authors claimed that stress improves the performance of certain cognitive functions. Faced with this inconsistency of results, we conducted this study with the aim of finding out whether job stress alters or stimulates cognitive functions. Material/Methods: Our study focused on 102 workers who were asked to freely and anonymously complete a questionnaire deemed relevant at the international scale. The age of the participants is between 22 and 60 years old with an average of 37 years and a standard deviation of 11 years. The population is made up of 77% of men and 23% of women. For the school level of the subjects: 50% of the subjects have a level bac to bac+2, 30% have a level higher than bac+2 and 20% have a level lower than bac. The professional status of workers is divided into three types: 48% are supervisors and technicians, 32% are executing workers and 20% are senior managers. The participants underwent two neurocognitive tests using the ELIAN software. Results: Analysis of the results shows that there is no significant link between work stress and the cognitive functions studied. However, the analysis of the results of each socio-professional category separately shows that stress significantly reduces the visual working memory score of young people (< 40 years old), as well as the ability to concentrate of subjects with a school level higher than bac+2. While it improves visual perception in men and old people over the age of 40. Conclusions: There are significant links between some cognitive performances and the socio-professional characteristics of the stressed subjects. Therefore, work stress can affect neurocognitive health, which is more serious. In order to understand the relationship between work or chronic stress and cognition as well as their moderating factors, it is advisable to increase the size of the sample and to diversify the cognitive functions studied as well as their tasks. Caregivers are a particular target for psychosocial risks, including stress and burnout. Burnout is a consequence of exposure to permanent and prolonged stress. It concerns professions with high mental, emotional and emotional demands and high responsibility such as nurses. The objective of this study was to describe and identify psychosocial risks, occupational stress and its components in health professionals. This epidemiological study involved 191 health professionals working in the provincial hospital centers of Kenitra and Sidi Slimane, Morocco. The questionnaire included: socio-demographic and occupational data; the Karasek scale (KJCQ) with its three components: psychological demand (DP), decision-making latitude (LD) and social support (SS). These three dimensions allow the identification of risk situations. Job strain is the combination of low decision latitude and high psychological demand. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale consists of three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and feeling of personal fulfillment at work). Sexual abuse of adolescent girls often leads to maladaptive behavioural patterns, variable anxiety responses, and dysfunctional coping mechanisms. This case report aims to investigate the prevalence of early maladaptive schemas (EMSs), anxiety, and coping strategies among five adolescent girls who are survivors of sexual abuse. The participants had a mean age of 16.6 years (±1.14 years) and were residing at the Ibtissama Social Complex Support Association (ISCSA) in Meknes, Morocco. Data were collected using a suite of standardised Likert-scale instruments. The State and Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF), and Ways of Coping Checklist (WCC) were used. Findings reveal pervasive EMS activation and high anxiety levels among all participants, with emotion-focused coping as the predominant mechanism. These results emphasise the critical roles of EMS, anxiety, and coping strategies following sexual abuse, highlighting the need for effective, scalable therapeutic interventions for this vulnerable demographic.
