The OBJECTIVE was to improve the quality of diagnosis and the effectiveness of treatment of refractory ulcers of the rectum. METHODS AND MATERIALS. We analyzed clinical and biochemical parameters in 39 patients with previously diagnosed solitary ulcers of the rectum. It was proved that in 18 patients, ulceration in the rectum was caused by an autoimmune process, according to the type of Crohn’s disease. The obtained data made it possible to substantiate and apply a new method of treating rectal ulcers – local bone marrow stem cell transplantation. RESULTS. All patients had pain, stool returned to normal, and ulcerative defects were noted to heal. CONCLUSION. Bone marrow stem cell transplantation differs fundamentally in its mechanism of action from known methods of treating rectal ulcers. The method has shown high efficiency and a good safety profile.

The OBJECTIVE of the study was to assess the possibility of using laser technologies in the treatment of perianal Crohn’s disease.METHODS AND MATERIALS. The study included 18 patients with perianal Crohn’s disease who were treated in Surgery Department ¹ 3 of the Clinic of the Research Institute of Surgery and Emergency Medicine of Pavlov University. The study was conducted in 2 stages. The first stage consisted in placing the draining seton (ligature) in the main fistulous canal. The second stage was performed in 3 months. The seton was removed with further laser destruction of the fistulous canal. On the background of surgical treatment, the patients received conservative therapy according to the recommendations of gastroenterologists.RESULTS. Every stage of surgical treatment lasted no more than 30 minutes, under intravenous anesthesia. Intraoperative blood loss did not exceed 5 ml. Due to the absence of complications, the bed-day of each stage varied from 0 to 2 days. 3 months after surgical treatment, the examination showed the complete closure of the fistula canals. The maximum period of relapse-free course was 24 months. All patients received anti-inflammatory therapy, 63 % of patients continued to receive genetically engineered biological therapy.CONCLUSION. The use of sphincter-preserving techniques proved to be effective in patients with perianal Crohn’s disease. It improves the quality of life and reduces the risk of patients’ disablement.

An observation from practice was devoted to the experience of an interdisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of a patient with complicated course of Crohn’s disease against the background of the formation of a stricture of the terminal ileum, an enterovesical fistula, the penetration into the mesentery of the sigmoid colon.

The research aims to assess the cultural diversity of international students studying in higher education institutions. The results of the research provide an overview of the attitude of students studying in institutions of higher education to learning, the factors influencing their studies, and their expectations for their studies abroad. One type of quantitative research method, the questionnaire, was chosen for the primary research. The research results reflect the perspectives of students from different cultural backgrounds in institutions of higher education and focus on the phenomena and situations they experience. Following the hypothesis test results, an outcome can be seen that students believe that their studies in higher education provide a good foundation for their personal development. The results also confirmed that learning in a multicultural environment could positively affect students' working abilities.

The article examines the nature of the effect of the digital economy and artificial intelligence on the participants of the school educational process. The study deploys a Likert scale questionnaire, focused interview, and IBM SPSS Statistics 22 as the main instruments. The authors determine the status of a teacher in the AI-teacher system and identify the nature of AI's influence on the students and communication within the teacher-student-teacher system. Support is provided for the hypothesis suggesting that the effect of the digital economy and AI on the participants of the school educational process (teachers and students) is complex and controversial and causes the differences in the teachers' positions depending on their age, working experience, and the subject of specialization. The primary advantage of the article is the identification of stable relationships in the teacher-student-teacher system developing with the help of AI. The study indicates the teacher's advantage over AI in teaching technique and social influence, as well as the negative effect of AI on students' health. For the first time, the authors examine the nature of role changes in the AI-teacher system in the context of a global pandemic. The danger of AI replacing teachers with the help of teachers themselves is identified. The acquired results may be used by theorists and practitioners for further development of the foundations of the system of education and human interaction with AI in the digital economy.

The relationship between a variety’s genotype, environmental conditions and phytopathogenic load are the key factors contributing to high yields that should be taken into account in selecting donors for resistance and high manifestation of valuable traits. The study of leaf rust resistance in 49 common wheat varieties was carried out in the field against the natural pathogen background and under laboratory conditions using single-pustule isolates with virulence to Lr9 and Lr24. It has been shown that the varieties carrying alien genes Lr6Agi2 (Tulaikovskaya 10) and Lr6Agi1 (Voevoda) were resistant to leaf rust infection both in the field and in the laboratory. Varieties KWS Buran, KWS Akvilon, KW 240-3-13, and Etyud producing crop yields from 417 to 514 g/m2 comparable to the best standard variety Sibirskaya 17 can be reasonably used as Lr24 resistance gene donors under West Siberian conditions. Oms kaya 44 variety showing crop yield of 440g/m2 can be used as a donor for Lr19 and partially effective Lr26. Varieties Tuleevskaya and Altayskaya 110 with Lr9 in their genomes are recommended for the development of resistance gene-pyramided genotypes. The highest protein and gluten contents were observed in the CS2A/2M sample, while KWS Buran, Altayskaya 110, Volgouralskaya, and KWS Akvilon showed the lowest values. Varieties CS2A/2M, Tulaikovskaya 10, Pavon, and Tuleevskaya were ranked the highest in micro- (Cu, Mn, Zn, Fe) and macronutrient (Ca, Mg, K) contents among the common wheat samples from the collection, while the lowest values for most elements were observed in KWS Buran, Novosibirskaya 15, and Volgouralskaya. Winter varieties demonstrating leaf rust resistance against the infectious background typically carry adult plant resistance genes (Lr34, Lr12, and Lr13), particularly combined with the juvenile Lr26 gene. The presence of Lr41 in a winter type line (KS 93 U 62) allowed it to maintain resistance against a leaf rust pathogen clone kLr24, despite the presence of Lr24 in the genotype. Varieties Doka and Cheshskaya 17 may act as donors of resistance genes Lr26 + Lr34 and Lr9 + Lr12 + Lr13 + Lr34, as well as sources of dwarfing without losses in winter hardiness and yield under West Siberian conditions.

This study aimed to identify the feasibility and expediency of gamifying activities in higher education institutions, for which an original methodology was used. However, gamification is complex and carries a high degree of risk in achieving organizational efficiency. It is therefore advisable to adopt a fragmented approach and selectively gamify individual processes and features, focusing on educational and research activities. When introducing gamification, top management should provide conceptual and regulatory support and HR specialists coordination. Using a distribution model of managerial functions for gaming activities and determining priorities, taking the use of artificial intelligence into account, is shown to be expedient.

The relevance of the article is conditioned by the exceptional importance of the social infrastructure for the development of the state, society and each individual. Social infrastructure ensures the development of the municipal unit, satisfaction of the basic needs and interests of the population, creation of the conditions for its subsistence and reproduction. In this connection, the paper aims at analysis of the main challenges and tendencies in the functioning of the social infrastructure of the Russian territories, the factors of its development. The major method of research is jury of opinion--the leaders of local authorities, that has allowed to consider the main resources and restrictions of their activities for the development of social infrastructure in the modern Russian conditions. The article includes the analysis of factors, determining the effectiveness of the development of social infrastructure of municipal units in the Russian Federation. The work discloses the financial-and-economic and political factors, limiting the development of territorial social infrastructure. The article proves that the socio-cultural factors can serve as resources of formation of investment attractiveness of the territory, the development of social infrastructure. The results of the research can be used in the activity of public authorities in drafting of regulations, the practice of local government, contributing to the development of social infrastructure.

The relevance of the research is conditioned by the need to win the competition struggle by certain organizations and area in general. Education has recently become very popular for the training of highly professional staff. However, achieving this goal is possible by means of creation of favorable working and learning conditions, maintaining health of the teaching staff and students. Therefore, the present article has the purpose to reveal the issues of monitoring of working conditions and the nature of their influence on the health of students and academic staff of Russian State Social University (RSSU). The main approach, implemented in the study has been the system one, giving the opportunity to study the problem in the logical relationship. Also, there has been used the method of comparative analysis, based on the comparison of the results of content analysis of documentary data of the university and sociological survey. The paper reveals the nature of the impact of working conditions on the health of students and teaching staff. There is a dependence of the increase in the incidence of the academic staff and the duration of the university renewal. Scientific and methodological recommendations for the formation of working and learning conditions, favorable for health of students and professors have been working out.

Wheat is a cereal grain that plays an important role in the world’s food industry. The identification of the loci that change the concentration of elements in wheat seeds is an important challenge nowadays especially for genomic selection and breeding of novel varieties. In this study, we performed a multivariate genome-wide association study (GWAS) of the seven traits—concentrations of Zn, Mg, Mn, Ca, Cu, Fe, and K in grain—of the Russian collection of common wheat Triticum aestivum (N = 149 measured in two years in two different fields). We replicated one known locus associated with the concentration of Zn (IAAV1375). We identified four novel loci—BS00022069_51 (associated with concentrations of Ca and K), RFL_Contig6053_3082 (associated with concentrations of Fe and Mn), Kukri_rep_c70864_329 (associated with concentrations of all elements), and IAAV8416 (associated with concentrations of Fe and Mn)—three of them were located near the genes TraesCS6A02G375400, TraesCS7A02G094800, and TraesCS5B02G325400. Our result adds novel information on the loci involved in wheat grain element contents and may be further used in genomic selection.

The article examines the characteristics of consumer behavior of Generation Z representatives. An analysis of available literary sources has shown that the existing idea of A. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is also undergoing a process of transformation. A number of identified changes are described. Influenced by primary production factors, proposed by K. Marx, and other specific factors of production – entrepreneurial talent and information, the features of rational consumer behavior are consider ed. It was found that all considered factors of production have a positive impact on consumption, with the exception of information. To confirm the findings empirically, a study was conducted including the opinions of more than a thousand respondents belonging to Generation Z. All conclusions were confirmed. However, one of the issues made it possible to obtain an unexpected result, there must be a special focus on it.
