International audience; Therapeutic challenges regarding the population of elderly cancer patients and their heterogeneity lead to the need to implement person-centered approaches in order to optimize care strategies and adapt oncology treatments to each pattern of aging. The International Society of Geriatric Oncology recommends a multidisciplinary evaluation of these patients and the use of screening tools prior to the initiation of treatments. However, previous research shows a poor implementation of these recommendations in geriatric oncology. Although some studies have identified how different perceptions of geriatric oncology might hinder routine teamwork, little is known about the impact of other factors on promoting the collaboration between the two specialties. This mixed-method exploratory study used an online questionnaire to assess the perception of a group of 22 geriatricians and oncology physicians on different determinants of oncology care and teamwork. In this sample, older oncology patients benefited from geriatric care. However, there was a variability regarding age criteria and a limited use of screening tools. The multidimensional framework for interprofessional teamwork by Reeves has been used to analyze some of the determinants of the collaboration between oncology physicians and geriatricians. This study has identified systematic issues to consider when promoting communication and common values between the two disciplines, including available resources in terms of shared time, space and routine actions.

As a collaboration between the Danish FA (Dansk Boldspil-Union), Danish League (Divisionsforeningen), University of Southern Denmark (SDU), and Odense Municipality the aim is to establish a football centre in Odense. Bringing together actorslike the above-mentioned academia, industry, government, and civil society is important in order to strengthen regional innovation (Roman et al. 2020), and a collaboration model can be a way to communicate, interact, and attract relevant stakeholders.The aim of this project is to propose a collaboration model for the innovation centre that embraces the Nordic social innovation values and potentially improves the effectiveness of the collaboration between multiple stakeholders.Using the quadruple helix collaboration model of innovation as a theoretical starting point, the aim was to create a collaboration model recognising the Nordic value of social innovation and create an open system with the civil and business society as active stakeholders. Through a co-creational design research approach, workshops served the purpose of engaging the stakeholders’ groups of Football Startup in Denmark, Football related NGOs, DBU, Divisionsforeningen, Football researchers at SDU, foundation staff and representatives from Odense Municipality informing, legitimisingand validating the collaboration model.The final collaboration and activity model as illustrated to the left is a quadruple helix model representing the four main stakeholders: Academia asResearch and Development (blue), the industry as Football and Sports industry (red), the Civil Society as Football Organisation (green) and the Policymakersas the public sector and private funds (yellow). The six design stages and process activities are shown on top of the stakeholders, illustrating the iterative design process to Engage, to identify Needs, to Match make stakeholders, to Develop and test artefacts of products and services, to Implement invented and developed artefacts and to evaluate Impact as illustrated in the figure below.These elements of innovation are comparable to a service, technology, and product design approach for stakeholders relevant to the innovation centre.Based on the insights from the workshop and the analysis, we have identified collaboration potential for the innovation centre. Besides well-established collaborations between stakeholders, the innovation centre should support and further develop identified collaboration gaps.1. We see a potential collaboration between grassroots clubs working together with researchers and municipalities to open a flank for projects and funding new initiatives and knowledge generation by collaborating more closely, focusing on socially vulnerable youth and citizens. Efforts of such a civil society perspective can provide the opportunity for funding support, we believe.2. We also see a great opportunity for elite clubs and startups to have a clearer focus on CSR and a focus on social engagement in the local communities the clubs are part of. These new options of consortiums may open for new creative idea generation and new financial resources.3. We also see an opportunity for startups to seek funding potentially based on having a more profound focus on socially responsible projects collaborating with NGOs and as a way of offering football to the general public with a different focus than performance enhancement.4. To strengthen the entrepreneurial thinking and ecosystem of football startups in Denmark, we also identified the opportunity of creating a more profound focus on making events and matchmaking between startups and venture capital resources. That would support the existing startups, which in general boost innovation in football and football technology development for the competitiveness of Danish football.

Introduction Arreter la consommation de tabac ou d’alcool a l’annonce du cancer permettrait d’optimiser l’efficacite et la tolerance des traitements. La reduction de ces consommations serait egalement susceptible d’affecter favorablement la qualite de vie (QdV) des patients. Objectifs Afin de comparer deux interventions (prise en charge standard versus entretien motivationnel) visant a reduire des consommations a risque de tabac/alcool chez des femmes traitees pour un cancer du sein, un essai clinique a ete mis en place avec pour objectifs a six mois : – la reduction des consommations de tabac/alcool a six mois ; – l’amelioration de la qualite de vie (QdV). Methodes Essai randomise comparatif. L’intervention etait jugee efficace en cas de reduction de consommation de tabac/alcool d’au moins 20 % a six mois. Les taux d’efficacite attendu etaient de 5 % (standard) et 20 % (entretien motivationnel). La QdV etait evaluee a partir du questionnaire « Quality of life Questionnaire-Core 30 » (QLQ-C30) developpe par l’« European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer » (EORTC). Dans un premier temps, chacune des sous-echelles etait decrite et analysee via des tests de comparaison de Wilcoxon. Un score global prenant en compte l’ensemble des items a ete estime (score de Nordin [Nordin et al., Br J Cancer, 2001], mieux adapte que l’utilisation du score de sante global QLQ-C30) et compare entre les bras d’intervention a partir d’un modele lineaire mixte. La QdV a egalement ete consideree comme une variable latente, donc non directement mesurable ou observable, modelisee a partir de deux modeles mixtes a processus latent (QdV fonctionnelle et QdV symptomatique). Resultats La population etait constituee de 104 femmes : bras standard (n = 53) et experimental (n = 51). En termes de reduction des consommations, les taux d’efficacite etaient superieurs aux taux attendus a six mois (standard 32 % et motivationnel 36 %) mais sans difference significative. Concernant la QdV, quelle que soit la definition utilisee, celle-ci restait stable et similaire dans les deux bras. Conclusion Aucune association a six mois entre intervention et consommation de tabac/alcool ou QdV n’a ete mise en evidence. La participation a l’essai clinique pourrait expliquer l’excellent taux d’efficacite observe dans le bras standard. Ces taux restent cependant a confirmer dans le cadre d’une evaluation a plus long terme. La QdV initiale elevee pourrait expliquer l’absence d’amelioration observee par la suite. Ainsi, la QdV a l’inclusion pourrait d’avantage etre utilisee afin de cibler les populations susceptibles de beneficier au mieux des interventions.

Tobacco and alcohol represent the two most important risk factors increasing cancer incidence and mortality, particularly among women with breast cancer. However, few researches have focused on the consumption of psychoactive substances in women treated for breast cancer. The present study describes the prevalence of tobacco and alcohol consumption and their relationships with the sociodemographic, medical and psychological variables in a population of women receiving surgery treatment for breast cancer.Between October 2014 and August 2015, a group of women receiving breast cancer treatment were recruited to participate to a screening and brief intervention program (SBI) for the consumption of tobacco and alcohol, adapted to the oncology context. Data on tobacco and alcohol consumption were collected using two questionnaires : the smoking status identification (NIDA) and alcohol consumption (AUDIT-C). A questionnaire for socio- demographic data and two for psychological data (Thermometer of psychological distress; ESAS), have been used. The medical data were reported by participants and verified on medical records.In a total of 11 months, 120 women with breast cancer were included in this study. A large majority of patients were hospitalized for a first-time cancer (80.8%), type invasive ductal carcinoma (70.8%) and were receiving surgery as primary treatment (45%). Furthermore, 30.8% of the women reported tobacco consumption and 38.4% high-risk alcohol consumption. Regarding mental health, 40.8% presented moderate to intense levels of psychological distress. No significant relationships were found between consumption scores and sociodemographic, medical or psychological characteristics. Only the patient's age was negatively associated with tobacco consumption.Tobacco and at-risk alcohol consumption are frequently reported behaviors during breast cancer treatment. Intervention strategies targeting risk behaviors related to addictive consumption should be implemented during the full treatment of breast cancer patients.

Objectif Recueillir les donnees qualite afin d’etendre a 36 mois la duree de conservation du plasma frais congele securise par quarantaine conserve a temperature ≤ −25 °C : presentation des donnees intermediaires a 24 mois de conservation. Methode Afin d’assurer l’homogeneite des produits decongeles et testes au cours du temps, 33 melanges de 4 unites de plasma isogroupe (11 O ; 22 non O) ont ete prepares puis repartis en 4 unites identiques surgelees simultanement, puis conservees a temperature ≤ −25 °C. Les temps retenus pour evaluer la qualite in-vitro du plasma sont : apres 5 jours de congelation T0, au bout de 12 (T1), 24 (T2) et 36 mois de conservation. Resultats Une approche ANOVA selon le test non-parametrique de Kruskal-Wallis est utilisee pour comparer les temps T1/T0 et T2/T0. Les parametres biochimiques : proteines totales, albumine, Immunoglobulines, C3a et C5a ne presentent aucune evolution biologique significative, de meme que les parametres d’hemostase TP, FVIIIc, fibrinogene, FVII, FIX, FXI, Facteur VW (Ag et activite) et TAT. Le FVIII presente une activite moyenne de 0,91 UI/ml a 2 ans avec une seule valeur

We state existence theorems for almost periodic solutions of evolution problems, namely, quasi-autonomous problems and more generally, time dependent evolution equations. We apply these theorems firstly, to a boundary value quasilinear hyperbolic equation of first order, and secondly, to a boundary value quasi-parabolic equation.

This paper deals with feedback stabilization of second order equations of the form ytt + A0y + u (t) B0y (t) = 0, t ∈ [0, +∞[, where A0 is a densely defined positive selfadjoint linear operator on a real Hilbert space H, with compact inverse and B0 is a linear map in diagonal form. It is proved here that the classical sufficient ad-condition of Jurdjevic-Quinn and Ball-Slemrod with the feedback control u = ⟨yt, B0y⟩H implies the strong stabilization. This result is derived from a general compactness theorem for semigroup with compact resolvent and solves several open problems.

Herpes zoster is a disease which occurs secondary to the reactivation of varicella-zoster virus. Motor involvement in acute herpes zoster is rare. We report a case of sciatica L5 due to herpes zoster infection with motor loss. Typical skin lesions occurred one week before the sciatica. Radiological finding did not explain the paresis. The diagnosis of zoster sciatica with motor involvement was suspected. Serological tests and cerebrospinal fluid examination established the diagnosis. The antiviral and physical treatment was conducted in order to improve functional outcome.

Resume Le sarcome d’Ewing extraosseux de l’adulte jeune est une tumeur rare, au pronostic malheureusement sombre. Nous en presentons un cas, situe dans la region diaphragmatique droite, extremement douloureux. Nous proposons dans un but pedagogique – qui n’a rien d’un corrige infaillible – de voir comment l’on peut analyser les composantes de la douleur physique et de la souffrance morale. Les choix therapeutiques sont alors argumentes, notamment la place de l’oxycodone, de la pregabaline et de l’accueil du patient.

International audience; Introduction. Osteoporotic fractures are a major public health problem because of the morbidity and mortality of fracture complications. The objective of this study was to examine predictive factors of mortality during the first year after an osteoporotic fracture. Methods. It is a retrospective case-control study using data of a group of 1081 patients aged over 50 years with severe osteoporotic fractures by the Rennes university hospital emergency department from August 2007 to September 2008. Patients (cases) who died during the year following the fracture were compared with others who had survived (controls) one year after the fracture, matched on age, sex and type of fracture. Pre-fracture comorbidities and complications after the fractures were studied. Results. Forty-two cases and 126 controls were analyzed without significant differences in age, sex or type of fracture. On univariate analysis, previous neoplasia, neurodegenerative disease, walking aids, thromboembolic complication, post fracture infection, post fracture heart failure, post fracture acute respiratory failure were associated with more mortality after osteoporotic fracture. After multivariate analysis, only previous neoplasia (OR = 4.63 [1.79 - 11.95]; p = 0.02) and acute respiratory failure after fracture (OR = 28.15 [5.75 - 137.9]; p
