直観を通して現象を概念化・体系化する活動を学、概念を個別事象へと具象化する活動を術とした。十九世紀から二十世紀にかけて様々な分野で普遍概念が崩壊し、学的活動の多くが後退したことにより、学術研究が術の活動となっている。しかし、学と術の明確な意識がなされないまま、功利的目的における学術研究が興隆を極めている。術は、個別事情に即して、経験と教養に裏打ちされた活動であるべきものを、学への意識により個別事情を一般化し、マニュアル的に対応されている。混迷を深める現代において、人間の理念を希求する学と、個別事情に即した術の再生を、学術の様態に求める時期にあるであろう。このような状況を踏まえて、日本古来の学術観を参考に、学と術のあり方について論考を行った。学の目指す目標を普遍におくのではなく、常に反省と修正が可能な理念におく学の再構築と、術者の人生の総合としての高みをめざす術への修練、さらに術の享受者の積極的関与などが求められるであろう。

The Book of Tea（1906）, a practical literature on the theory of Japanese art and culture, written by Okakura Kakuzo（1863─1913）has some allusions to Goethe’s Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre（1795─96）and Wilhelm Meisters Wanderjahre（1829）. Though there has been no precedent for such comment, intensive reading of James Joyce’s Ulysses（1922）has led us to find Okakura’s artistic devices suggest Goethe scattered here and there in his work. From the intertextual perspective, this paper attempts to show that episode 9 of Ulysses illuminated the “portals of discovery” of how Okakura adapted Goethe parallel to the Japanese cultural context in his literature. In order to attain the goal of this paper, first we review the historical background of the publication of The Book of Tea. Second, it is shown that the strange description at the beginning of Ulysses episode 9 is a Joycean paradoxical comical way of twisted unification of Okakura’s serious Japanese art theories and dramatic descriptions of the last chapter of his book. Third, the adaptations of Goethe’s original are exemplified parallel to the context of The Book of Tea. Ultimately, Goethe was given a new birth in the context of modern Japan, as homage to a leading figure who had anticipated the arrival of world literature, which Okakura had earnestly longed for.

「アフター・コロナ」という新時代を生き延びるために私たちはどうすれば良いのか。新型コロナウイルスが世界で広がる中，感染症と人類の関わりは，古代からの歴史がある。過去の歴史と比較して今を生きる現在を知り，人々は各時代に脅かされた感染症から何を学び，芸術を生み出してきたのか。本稿では絵画史と音楽史の始まりからバロック時代までを概観し，人類の感染症とキリスト教芸術との関わりを考察する。

application/pdf, In this article, the results of research about the Protection and Management of World Heritage Fujisan as the Cultural Landscape is reported. Fujisan didn’t become the object of the Cultural Landscape in the conventional methods. But many people are recognizing Fujisan as the Cultural Landscape. Therefore, solution of this inconsistency between systems and recognition is needed. The author studied about this theme by means of Historical research methods, and pointed out the importance of historical relations between 25 sites which reflect the essence of Fujisan’s sacred and artistic landscape.

トーマス・マンは信仰の人ではなかったが，その作品にはキリスト教的なモチーフが多く取り扱われている。マンにとって，キリスト教はヨーロッパ文化の根底にあるものとして生涯をとおして大きな関心の対象だった。『ブッデンブローク家の人々』はプロテスタンティズムを精神的基盤とするドイツの市民社会を舞台とする小説であり，マンにとってはじめて本格的に宗教を取り扱うことになった作品である。この小説では，市民社会のなかでプロテスタンティズムが息づいている様相が，人々の具体的な生活を通して活写されている。舞台となっている時代は大きな社会変動の時代であり，プロテスタンティズム信仰の衰退期でもあった。『ブッデンブローク家の人々』は資本主義の進展や教養市民層の興隆などの社会変動に対応できないままに，信仰を失っていった伝統的な市民家族の四代にわたる没落の歴史である。本論はこの一族の没落と信仰喪失の過程に焦点をあてている。

書は、中国では古代より、人々の日常生活を貫き、手紙のやり取りや公文書の掲示、また科挙の試験などと密接に結びついており、いずれも実用的な「術」である。二十世紀初頭には書を「美術」、「芸術」の範疇に入れる状況が出現した。王国維、梁啓超、鄧以蟄の三人の学者は書法を「美術」と呼んでいるが、張蔭麟、宗白華、林語堂、朱光潜、蒋彝は「芸術」と呼んでいる。それでは、「書法は美術である」と「書法は芸術である」は同じ意味だろうか。本稿では「美術」、「芸術」という言葉の意味の転換と時代背景を結びつけ、特に前者の王国維・梁啓超・鄧以蟄のいう「美術」の意味を考察し、その上で彼らの書法に対する立場を分析する。

研究成果の概要 (和文) : 本研究はフランスの総合的思想家ジョルジュ・バタイユ（1897-1962）の芸術に関する思想を対象にし、新たな解釈の可能性を提言した。研究の方向としてはバタイユの世界への道とバタイユの外への道を設定した。前者はバタイユのテクストに内在し、彼の芸術論の斬新さを、脱近代的な視点（主客の二元論への批判など）から開示していく道であり、具体的な成果として拙著『バタイユと芸術』（青土社、2019年）の上梓があげられる。後者は、前者での考察を広く西欧の芸術に差し向けて新たな解釈をめざす応用の道であり、成果としては中世キリスト教芸術の来歴を扱った『ロマネスクとは何か』（筑摩書房、2020年）があげられる。, 研究成果の概要 (英文) : This is a study on the art theory of Georges Bataille(1897-1962). He was a French comprehensive thinker in the 20th century and told a lot on art. My consideration followed two paths : path to the inside of his text and path to the outside. First, I took a way to Bataille' world for reinterpreting his new aesthetics from a post-modern perspective (as a critic of the dualism of subject and object). A typical result is the publishing of my book Georges Bataille and the arts (Seido-sha, 2019). The second way is an application of this first research result to Western art interpretation. A fruit of this way is the issue of my book What is the Romanesque art? (Chikuma-shobo, 2020). That is a new proposal for decoding the history of early Medieval Christian art.

本稿は「ロシアのクラシック音楽の理念をどう理解すべきか」という問いを論究する。天才作曲家とは、世界を見つめて「思索する音楽家」に他ならない。作曲するときに世界をのみこみ、音楽という言語でもって存在の深みを抑揚づけているのである。芸術作品にある深い意味や理念については、哲学の次元で掘り下げなければ見えてくるものではない。しかし必ずしも哲学的に研究すれば本質を捉えられるというわけでもない。研究法が大事である。そこで楽曲分析をめぐる研究法の学術論争に焦点を当て、音楽学と存在論を結びつける架け橋を探してみたい。キリスト教存在論の観点に立ち、その全一的な愛・徳・苦行・神成といった理想に照合してはじめて、ロシアの巨匠が書いた曲の意味が明らかになる。ロシア音楽哲学は、ひたすら「内なる人」に向かう点が他の哲学と異なる。神世界を除外して人間界を考えることはしない。ロシア宗教哲学と同じく「信じる理性」という大原則に支えられた哲学なのである。

Sandplay therapists and researchers have long sought for ways to explain why sandplay therapy heals. In this paper, the author first briefly reviews the history and status-quo of sandplay research from the perspective of neuroscience. Then sandplay therapy is redefined from the specific standpoints of neuropsychology and neuroaesthetics or neuroscientific study of art. Sandplay shares some characteristics with visual art in that it entails active processes of extracting components from the ever-changing real world and re-constructing it as more or less static. However, it is different from visual art in that it is multi-modal, starts with stimulating the tactile sense, thus triggering PLAY, which is one of the seven basic emotions by Panksepp. The key concepts in sandplay therapy,“mother-child unity”and were discussed in the light of neuroscience, infant research, and psychoanalysis. Sandplay as art is also related with curiosity, SEEKING, which is closely related with PLAY, and all these lead to creativity. Although therapists have been warned against seeking for beauty in art therapy, for fear that“false beauty”should compromise therapeutic effects, beauty itself may be an inherent and important part of sandplay therapy, for, the sense of beauty, according to some neuroscientific studies, is grounded in the neural network related with“reward”, and the often-felt sense of“reward”in the client-therapist relationship may be a contributing factor in the client’s psychological growth. Also, in such elderly clients as those with brain damage and cognitive and/or physical impairments, the therapist’s assisting them with making their sandtrays“look better”may uphold their diminished or traumatized sense of self and might help them achieve some “beauty”towards the end of their lives. Studying neural underpinnings of sandplay therapy with more advanced neuroimaging techniques than near-infrared spectroscopy（NIRS）may shed light on such topics as the relationship between the“reward”circuits and sandplay therapy processes. Hopefully, neuroscientists and sandplay therapists and researchers will, in future, go hand in hand to dig deep into both the brain and the inner world of sandplay therapy, to open up new possibilities to explain to the public and specialists in other fields what is going on in sandplay therapy and what really makes it therapeutic.

本稿では，松下幸之助の経営学の原点を調査，研究し，コロナ禍における本学の教育の方向性 を示すことを目的としている。

概要：概念用語「美術」とはそもそもどのように作られ、その必然があったのか。そして、言葉から生まれた概念とどう向き合ってきたか。その語源と現代とのつながりを紐解き、概念構築された現状を一考察としてまとめた。

科学技術コミュニケーションにアートを取り入れる実践や分析は，多角的な視点から研究されている．アートを通じた科学技術コミュニケーションは，科学技術に対して非言語的に問題提起することや，感性に訴えかける効果があり，科学を伝えるだけでなく，科学技術との関わりや見方を伝えるために有効であると考えられる．本稿では，アートがどのように自然のモチーフを表現し，鑑賞者が自主的に分析できるかを探るため，たんぽぽの綿毛をテーマとした⚔つのアート作品の鑑賞を行った．この鑑賞を通して，アーティストの「生命」の表現に注目する．それぞれの作品は，綿毛を題材にしていながらも，異なる素材や手法を用いて表現されている．科学的な生命の定義については，個体のエネルギーと物質の因果的な法則や，“生気”と表現されるような形而上的な考え方などが知られているが，アートの鑑賞経験を言葉で表すことで，生命に対する自分の感じ方や考え方を明らかにすることができた．自分がどのような価値観を持っているかをメタ的に知ることは，異なる立場のひとが科学技術に関連する事柄を自分ごととして想像し，意見を共有する，科学技術コミュニケーションの土台になることが分かった．それぞれの作品の分析を通して，科学技術コミュニケーションにおけるアートの役割を探る．, The practice and analysis of incorporating art into scientific communication are being studied from various perspectives. Science communication through art has the effect of raising non-linguistic issues and appealing to sensibility in science and technology, and is considered to be effective not only for conveying science, but also for conveying the relationship and perspective with science. In order to explore how art expresses natural motifs and how the audience can analyze them on their own, this paper presents four pieces of art on the theme of dandelion fluff. Through this appreciation, we pay attention to the expression of the artistʼs “life”. Although each work is based on dandelion fluff, it is expressed using different materials and techniques. Scientific definitions of life include causal laws of individual energy and matter, and metaphysical concepts such as those described as “vitality”. On the other hand, by expressing my appreciation of art in words, I was able to clarify my feelings and way of thinking about life. It turns out that knowing what kind of values you have is the basis of scientific and technological communication in which people from different positions imagine things related to science and technology as their own and share their opinions. Through the analysis of each work, we explore the role of art in science and technology communication.

ヨゼフィーネの歌がネズミ族に伝えるものは何か。それは,ネズミ族の実存の根源的な孤独である。孤独を確認することで,個々のネズミは,どのネズミの内部にも「不壊なるもの」が共通に存在することを想起する。「不壊なるもの」とは,子供が持つ素朴な生きる喜びである。ヨゼフィーネの歌を聴くとき,ネズミたちは日頃拠り所にしている実際的分別という武装を解き,互いに一体感を覚える。ここには芸術家と共同体の理想的な関係がある。しかし,この関係は,コンサートが行われている間だけの一時的なものである。ヨゼフィーネは自分の芸術に専念するために,ネズミ族の誰もが行っている日々の労働の免除を求める。しかし,ネズミ族はそれを拒絶する。やがてヨゼフィーネは歌うことを拒否し,民族の前から姿を消してしまう。語り手は,ヨゼフィーネがいなくてもネズミ族は特に困ることはないのかもしれないとコメントする。しかし,作者カフカはそうは考えていない。人々に「不壊なるもの」を思い起こさせ,人々を融和に導くヨゼフィーネを失うことは大きな社会的損失であると確信している。, Im Genuss von Josefines Gesang streifen die Mäuse alles an praktischer Alltagsvernunft ab. Sie werden sich der Einsamkeit ihrer individuellen Existenz bewusst, was sie zur Erkenntnis führt, dass sie eine kindliche, schlichte Lebensfreude im Innern gemeinsam haben. Sie erfahren sich als Gemeinschaft. Kafka spricht vom 'Unzerstörbare. Dieses 'Unzerstörbare' ist aber eben nur während der Vorführung präsent, die Wirkung des Gesangs auf ihre Dauer beschränkt, und der anschließende Rückfall in den Status quo ante des Arbeitslebens so gut wie sicher. Josefine fordert um der Kunst willen eine Befreiung von der täglichen Arbeit. Vom Mäusevolk wird das abgelehnt, worauf sie den Gesang verweigert und verschwindet. Vom Erzähler wird dieser Abgang resignativ kommentiert, von Kafka aber als großer sozialer Verlust bedauert.

本研究の目的は、来るべきＡＩ化時代に備えてＡＩとは異なる生身の人間の「感覚力」に着目し、人とかかわる職に就く人々に向けた研修プログラムを開発することにある。大量の情報を瞬時に処理することに長けたＡＩは将来、職場でどのように活用され、人々の関係性にどのような変化をもたらすか、現時点での将来像を予測しておく必要がある。昼寝などの睡眠時の乳幼児の安全・見守りや送り迎え時の保護者対応、絵本の読みかたり等の業務にＡＩが登用された場合、そこで働く専門職の意味合いや養成、ならびに、研修内容にも大きな影響を及ぼすと考えられる。経済中心の原理や従来の仮説検証型の自然科学的方法とは異なる未来像を描く方途として、本論では人称の身体感覚を手がかりに、パフォーミング・アーツのワークショップにおける長期的フィールドワークを通して、対人関係専門職に就く人々を想定した感覚力の拡張を目指すプログラムの検討を試みる。

1924年に執筆されたカフカ最後の作品『歌姫ヨゼフィーネ,あるいはネズミ族』は,ネズミの世界における芸術家と共同体の関係を描くことを通じて,芸術の社会的意味を伝える寓話である。本稿は,語り手を「信頼できない語り手」と捉え,語り手の語りの中に含まれる作者の声に注意深く耳をすましながら,この作品のメッセージを明らかにする。厳しい生を生き抜くためにネズミ族がよりどころとしているのは,「抜け目なさ」と呼ばれる実際的分別である。しかし,それは個々人を孤立させるばかりである。ヨゼフィーネの歌は,逆に個々のネズミに平安を与え,幸福な一体感をもたらす。しかし,ヨゼフィーネとネズミ族の間には認識の相違もある。ネズミ族は,自分たちが,子供の面倒を見る父親のようにヨゼフィーネを保護していると考えている。ヨゼフィーネの方は,自分の歌が,ネズミ族に厳しい生に耐える力を与えることで,彼らを守っているのだと考えている。, Das letzte Werk Kafkas, Josefine, die Sängerin oder das Volk der Mäuse (1924), spielt in der Welt der Mäuse, ist also eine Allegorie.Allegorisiert wird die Beziehung zwischen Künstler und Gemeinschaft; zur Diskussion steht die soziale Bedeutung von Kunst. Um im Lebenskampf bestehen und überleben zu können, sind die Mäuse auf einen praktischen Verstand angewiesen: "Schlauheit". Mit dieser Schlauheit geht aber ein Nachteil einher: sie isoliert und vereinzelt.Josefines Gesang gibt den einzelnen Mäusen hingegen ein Solidaritäts und Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl. Allerdings besteht zwischen Josefine und den Mäusen ein Erkenntnisunterschied. Josefine glaubt, den Mäusen Kraft zu verleihen, um die Härte ihres Lebens zu ertragen, während die Mäuse, unfähig, den Wert ihrer Kunst zu verstehen, vom Gegenteil ausgehen: dass sie es wären, die die zarte Sängerin beschützen.

メディア情報リテラシーを様々な分野に拡大すると、新たな社会変化の創出が期待でき、現場で抱えている多くの課題解決が見いだせる。本稿は、子供達を対象とする心理学を取り入れながら、芸術へメディア情報リテラシーを拡大する具体例を紹介する。, Comparing two models, with and without positive effectors, children emotional communication on art is examined in Media and Information Literacy Expansion (MIL Expansion, MIL^X). Such literacy expansion reaches a variety of social changes, which expands opportunities to resolve on-site difficulties. This article is one of UNESCO MIL^X R&D outputs toward post SDGs.

In George Eliot’s fairytale-like novel Silas Marner (1861), a baby with golden curly hair suddenly appears before Marner, a miser, when he gets depressed because his gold coins, which he has been saving for years, are stolen. Taking charge of the orphan, naming her Eppie after his mother, and living with her as her father, he finally awakens to the value of love, which money cannot buy. At first glance, it seems that in this novel, Eliot merely criticizes capitalism and asserts the superiority of love over monetary value. It should be noted, however, that one of the causes of death of Eppie’s biological mother, a working-class woman addicted to opium, is the neglect by her husband, a landowning-class man, who is Eppie’s biological father; and that in the ending of the story, he, with his vast wealth, financially supports Marner and Eppie. What this narrative development implies is that the happy ending, where love links with capital, is based on the exploitation of the working-class mother. In Silas Marner, Eliot shows that love, which literary genres often portray as supremely valuable, is in fact inseparable from the violence of exploitation and therefore ambivalent. In other words, love is like opium, a pharmakon, which is both a remedy and a poison.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) have been educational topics for more than ten years or so, but the contents, the definition and integrated styles of them are still controversial. This paper summarizes the past researches about the definition and history of STEM and STEAM as well as the integration of disciplines. Important three integration categories : context integration, content integration, integration level are extracted from the past researches. These three categories are supposed to be useful to analyze the quality and quantity of the integration of all disciplines. The difference between the terms: disciplinary, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary became clearer. The role of arts in the integration of disciplines must be clearer in the future.

PDF, 要旨 本研究は、知的障害者の造形活動に関する先行研究をレビューし、社会福祉、障害者福祉の視座から、今後の実践に資する研究のあり方を明示することを目的とする。先行研究を「制作物等の呼称」、「日本における活動の歴史的経緯」、「活動・制作物と機能障害」、「活動の社会的意義」、「芸術との関係」の５つのトピックに分類し検討した結果、本活動の根底には障害者福祉実践に内在化していた問題を是正しようとする動きがあり、その手がかりが当事者の芸術活動を介しての声にあること、さらに、芸術はその制作者が属する文化、コミュニティの声であり、それらを読み取り他の文化と共有できる形に変換し、社会全体の状況改善につなげる作業を含めて芸術活動を捉えることが、障害者福祉、社会福祉の視座において重要であると考えた。そして、共生社会の形成にあっては、コミュニティ間の対話を実現するための文化資源として本活動を位置づける研究が求められることを示した。, The objective of this study is to demonstrate the way of study which contribute to a future actual practice by reviewing earlier studies on artistic activities of person with intellectual disability in view of social welfare and welfare for the disabled. Earlier studies are categorized into ５ topics; naming of the work, the historical background of the activity in Japan, the relation between the activity or the work and impairment, the relation between the activity and the social significance or the arts, then examined. The result indicates the movement of correcting internalized problem of the actual practice of welfare for the disabled underlies this activity, and that clue of the correction is in voice of the person concerned via the art work. The art work is the voice of the culture and the community of which its creator belong to. I consider that detecting and translating those voices to share with other cultures and recognizing the art activity including as the work of connecting to the improved situation of entire society are important in view of social welfare and welfare for the disabled. In addition, for the forming of a cohesive society, this study shows the need of study which considers this activity as cultural resources for the dialogue between communities.

2016年８月１日から12日まで、ドイツのミュンヘンで開催された２週間のドイツ語教員研修に参加した。世界各地から集まったドイツ語教員と経験を交換し、「芸術を題材としたドイツ語の授業」というテーマのもとに、演劇・映画・美術・音楽・文学などさまざまなジャンルの素材を教材化する方法を学んだ。芸術と外国語学習との間には特に必然的な関係があるようには見えないかもしれない。しかし、芸術が持つ力は外国語学習にとって重要である。芸術が人に与える力が、外国語学習者にある壁を越えさせることができる。そして、なによりも芸術の持つ「構造」こそがことばをつなぐ助けとなることに、今回の研修で気づくことができた。本稿では具体的な教授法を紹介し、芸術がいかに外国語学習の助けになるかを述べる。

Willa Cather（1873-1947）の作品および伝記を読むとき、共通して浮かび上がってくる見解として、彼女が子どもを芸術に近しい存在と見なしていたことが挙げられる。本論では、ネブラスカ大学出版のWilla Cather's Collected Short Stories（1965）収録の短編“Jack-a-Boy”と“The Sentimentality of William Travener”における子どもと芸術の描かれ方を取り上げ、Catherが両者を結び付けた理由を彼女の小説論から読み解こうと試みた。またCatherの描く子どもの特徴であるジェンダーの曖昧さに注目し、その曖昧さと作品における親の不在の問題との関係性、さらには作家自身の伝記的要素との関係性について考察した。そして、Catherが自身の抱えるアイデンティティの揺らぎを解消するため、キャラクターたちを子ども時代へと回帰させたのだとし、前掲書収録の“The Treasure of Far Island”などを取り上げながら、Catherが作品に用いた回帰の手法についても考察を加えた。

2013 年に全国的な聴覚障害当事者団体が「情報アクセシビリティ・フォーラム」を開催し，本学でも翌年大学院技術科学研究科に「情報アクセシビリティ専攻」が設立されるなど，情報アクセスなどを包含する概念として「情報アクセシビリティ」という用語が使われ始めている一方，美術館において，情報アクセスの整備が進んでおらず，聴覚障害者が文化芸術を享受する機会が妨げられている現状がある。本稿では，まず米国における美術館の取組み事例を紹介し，日本における美術館のこれまでのバリアフリー関連の取組みが遅れている事実を指摘する。日本の美術館において情報アクセスの整備がなかなか進まない，その主な要因として文化政策や障害者芸術振興政策の問題点を前景化させる。そして文化施設に求められる情報アクセスのあり方，聴覚障害者の鑑賞を支援する方法・内容を検討し，聴覚障害者の文化芸術活動，ひいては社会参加に必要な「情報アクセシビリティ」とは何か探究していきたい。

国立大学法人筑波技術大学障害者高等教育研究支援センターで，平成 23 年度よりろう・難聴者の様々な生き方や考え方及び自立に必要な知識などを指導する「ろう者学」の指導カリキュラム及びコンテンツを開発・整備する「ろう者学教育コンテンツ開発プロジェクト」に取り組んできた。米国では数多くのろう芸術に関する文献が認められるが，日本ではろう芸術，そしてろう者の芸術活動についての研究・調査もほぼ皆無に等しい状況である。本記事では，まずアメリカのろう芸術の動向を概説する。そして日本の戦前・戦後においてろう芸術の主な担い手としてのろう美術作家がどのように活動してきたのかを，「ろう者学教育コンテンツ開発プロジェクト」で収集した資料をもとに概観し，そのろう芸術の動向が日本のろう者コミュニティにどう影響を与えてきたのか，ろう芸術が果たしてきた役割と重要性を探求していきたい。

アラン・ケルラン氏の論文「芸術の教育的根源について」(À la source éducative de l'art)の完全翻訳小笠原文（訳）アラン・ケルラン（Alain Kerlan）氏はフランスの哲学者であり, リヨン第２大学の教育養成実践科学研究所（Institut des Sciences et des Pratiques d'Education et deFormation ＝ ISPEF) の所長を務めている。彼の研究領域は哲学と教育学, あるいは芸術と教育の交差する所に位置し, それは, 社会学と教育哲学の分野を往還する。翻訳者は2015 年3 月にアラン・ケルラン氏とリヨン第２大学にて対談し,STAPS 誌102号（2013 年）に掲載されたアラン・ケルラン氏の論文「芸術の教育的根源について」（Àla source éducative de l'art）の翻訳について快諾を得た。従って, 本稿は日本語としては初めて発表される「芸術の教育的根源について」（À la source éducative de l'art）の完全翻訳である。

文部科学省私立大学戦略的研究基盤形成支援事業(平成26年度～平成30年度), 本研究ノートは、近代の芸術を人びとの幸福（well-being）に影響を与える要因のひとつとみなし、その芸術がどのような時代・社会状況において社会的に制度化されるのかについて、社会学者G. ジンメルとM. ヴェーバーの関連著作を読みながら考察した。これらの著作を通じて、近代的な芸術の成立を都市化、技術（合理化）、社会分化という3つの概念から説明することを検証し、芸術と幸福との関係について今後どのように調査することが可能であるのかを示唆した。
