- Abstract
The authors launched the Japan Persons with Disabilities Fashion Association (JPFA) in November 2019. We have been engaged in developing fashion that appeals to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, gender, or nationality. With the generous support of many people, the JPFA was able to hold the “WFR (Wheelchair Fashion Row)” fashion show on September 27, 2022, during the Paris Fashion Week 2023 spring/summer. Through the challenge, a new form of universal design has emerged. We named the universal design developed from the three perspectives of “Enjoyability” in addition to the conventional Accessibility and Usability as “Next UD (Next Universal Design)”. We developed 10 Next UD fashion patterns and presented them at the WFR. From the perspective of social inclusion, the Next UD presented is only at the proposal stage, but we hope it will be of some help in promoting discussion in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
