Micafungin is recommended especially in patients with liver and kidney failure and in the presence of other side effects due to antifungals apart from its known priority indications such as invasive candidiasis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the children who have received micafungin treatment. In the study, 125 children who were hospitalized in the pediatric wards and intensive care units of our hospital and had used micafungin between November 2016 and January 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. Clinical data, micafungin indication, blood values on the first and fourth days of the treatment, side effects of the drug and efficacy were evaluated. Sixty percent (75/125) of the patients were male and the mean age of all the patients were 58 ± 67 (0-215, 30) months. Approximately half of the cases (48%) had malignancy and 13% of them were premature. Sixty-two percent (n= 37) of the malignencies were hematological (27 acute lymphocytic leukemia, nine acute myeloid leukemia, one myelodysplastic syndrome) and 38% (n= 23) were oncological (six neuroblastoma, four Hodgkin lymphoma, two Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, five sarcomas, one hepatoblastoma, five others) malignencies. The major cause of hospitalization was sepsis (53%). The patients had several risk factors like immunosuppressive therapy (n= 68, 54%), neutropenia (n= 61, 49%), central venous catheter (n= 102, 82%), nasogastric tube (n= 63, 50%), endotracheal intubation tube (n= 49, 39%), urinary catheter (n= 14, 11%) and total parenteral nutrition (n= 81, 65%). Thirteen percent (n= 16) of the cases were post-operative patients. Candida species were cultivated in 97 clinical specimens (blood, endotracheal aspirate, sputum, urine, etc.) among 23 (18%) of the patients. Thirteen (10%) of the patients had candidemia and 62% of them were non-albicans strains. In all candidemias, strains were echinocandin susceptible, and blood cultures were negative within four days. Aydın, Gökhan (Balikesir Author), Objective: Myocardial infarction (MI) with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is a relatively new term that is characterized by clinical evidence of MI with normal or near-normal coronary arteries on coronary angiography (QCA). To date, there have been no population-based studies on the prevalence of MINOCA in Turkey. The aim of this nationwide study was to document the prevalence and demographics of MINOCA in a Turkish population. Methods: MINOCA-TR is national, multi-center, prospective, all-comer study that was conducted in 32 hospitals. All consecutive patients who were >= 18 years old, diagnosed with MI according to the Third Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction, and had undergone DCA were included in the study. Patients with stable coronary artery disease, unstable angina pectoris, a history of revascularization, and type 4/5 MI were excluded. Results: A total of 1793 patients who were diagnosed with MI and had undergone QCA were screened between March 2018 and October 2018, of whom 1626 (mean age: 61.5 +/- 12.5 years, 70.7% male) were enrolled from 32 centers. Bu amaçla, gözlem alanı bölünmekte ve her bölgede parametrik olmayan Çekirdek Yoğunluk Tahmincisi (ÇYT) veri dağılımına dair hiçbir varsayımda bulunulmadan kullanılmaktadır. Sonra, yoğunluk tahmini eşik değeriyle karşılaştırılarak verinin anomali olup olmadığına karar verilmektedir. In this paper, we introduce an online anomaly detection algorithm to detect the anomalies in the observed data with two step approach in an unsupervised framework. In the first step, we estimate the density of the sequentially observed data with a novel kernel based approach. To this end, we partition the observation space and use nonparametric Kernel Density Estimator (KDE) in each region on a partition such that we do not assume any underlying distribution for the data. Then, we compare the estimated density of the data with a threshold to decide whether it is anomalous. We also solve the bandwidth selection problem in kernel based approaches in an efficient way. For this, we assign a set of kernel bandwidth values to each region, and make each estimator to converge to the best bandwidth choice for the corresponding subspaces in time. In our experiments, we show that our algorithm significantly outperforms the anomaly detection algorithms, which are highly used in the literature.

Background: The incidence of atrial fibrillation in acute coronary syndromes (ACS) ranges from 3% to 25%. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the demographic and baseline clinical characteristics, cardiovascular risk factors and comorbid conditions between patients (pts) with concomitant atrial fibrillation (AF) to those without AF in patients suffering from ACS without previous coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and/or percutaneous coronary intervention.

Lentil is one of the most important grain legumes, which plays a significant role in human nutrition and animal feed through the world. In developing countries, the prohibitively high cost of meat has rendered, lentil, with its high seed protein and essential amino acid content, important source of dietary protein. In this research, 181 lentil advanced lines (F7 generation) of Karacadağ x Silvan and Karacadağ x Çağıl 2004 crosses were evaluated for grain yield, yield components and seed mineral concentrations in two diverse environments in Turkey. Considerable diversity was observed with regard to yield components and seed mineral concentrations in the advanced lentil lines. The greatest phenotypic diversity was observed in the biological yield, number of pods and weight of pods per plant, the number of seeds and weight of seeds per plant, and seed Ca, Zn and Fe concentrations. Grain yield per plant was significantly positively correlated with the biological yield per plant, number of pods per plant, weight of pods per plant, and number of seeds per plant. Plant grain yield and yield components were strongly positively correlated with seed potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and zinc (Zn) concentrations but was negatively correlated with Fe concentration. In conclusion, promising lentil advanced lines for the grain yield, yield components and mineral concentrations could be evaluated for developing new lentil varieties and spesific breeding purposes. © Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi.
