Expecting improvements in productivity and performance, organizations continue to invest considerably in sales technology tools and platforms such as customer relationship management, social media, and artificial intelligence. Accordingly, scholars in this area have produced a rich literature stream. Nevertheless, a fragmented picture remains regarding sales technology's role within the sales process and the factors leading to its adoption, use, and subsequent effectiveness. Hence, synthesizing extant scholarship that can be easily approached by managers and which can offer a guide for future research represents a worthy scholarly endeavor. In this study, we comprehensively (e.g. 115 articles) review the sales technology literature covering over fifty years (1971 to 2023). In so doing, we identify themes from past research and discuss implications for sales managers in the current technological era while offering potential research avenues that speculate on the future of the sales technology landscape. This paper explores user involvement in company practice as a method that is both contingent and transformative. Drawing on ethnographic research in a small- to medium-sized care technology company, we trace how user involvement is enacted in diverse forms to resolve, deal with, and circumvent the frictions and tensions surrounding it. While encompassing similar types of configuration work, these varying enactments differ as they selectively enroll different actants, objectives, and procedures. We refer to these peculiar enactments as occurring in shifting interstices of coalescing tensions. In so doing, we are in conversation with literature in science and technology studies studying the socio-material constitution of users and the social role of methods. We build on and extend previous arguments revolving around the effects of methods and implicit ways of designers configuring users to draw attention to the situational character of doing user involvement. In particular, we argue that investigating shifting interstices offers novel ways of analyzing and thinking about the spatialities, temporalities, frictions, and objects involved in method practices, raising awareness of what it takes to momentarily "do" method this way, and not otherwise. The problem of reducing primary energy consumption is increasingly discussed in the technical literature. Relatively large amounts of energy are used to heat rooms. In the case of resources of much cheaper waste energy or energy from renewable sources with a temperature lower than required in the rooms, the so-called "thermal barrier" placed in external walls can be used to reduce heat transmission losses. The thermal barrier is a vertical wall element with pipes with a heating medium installed in the partition, with a temperature lower than the temperature in the room but higher than that resulting from the heat transfer through the partition without a barrier. An analytical calculation of heat flow through a thermal barrier has not been encountered in the literature. Therefore, a methodology for thermal barrier calculations was developed. In the paper, the heat fluxes flowing from the room to the partition and from the partition to the outside are determined. The developed model of partition with thermal barrier is then presented and the formula for thermal barrier efficiency is derived. Based mainly on theoretical models for the assumed input values and the partition's surroundings it was found that the efficiency of the thermal barrier does not depend on the temperatures of the barrier base and the wall environment, but only on the geometrical and thermodynamic parameters of the partition. It has also been shown that the efficiency of the thermal barrier is the highest when the resistance of the partition on both sides of the barrier is the same. It should be noted that the total amount of heat given off by a wall with a thermal barrier is greater than through a wall without a barrier, but the costs of heating the room may be lower. Modern genetic engineering technologies, such as base editing and prime editing (PE), have proven to provide the efficient and reliable genome editing tools that obviate the need for donor templates and double-strand breaks (DSBs) introduced in DNA. Relatively new, they quickly gained recognition for their accuracy, simplicity, and multiplexing capabilities. The review summarizes the new literature on the technologies and considers their architecture, methods to create editors, specificity, efficiency, and versatility. Advantages and disadvantages of the editors are discussed along with their prospective use in basic and applied research. The review may be useful for planning genome editing studies and analyzing their results to solve various problems of fundamental biology, biotechnology, medicine, and agriculture. The purpose of this study is to determine the key socio-technical factors influencing big data analytics adoption in healthcare services. A systematic literature review was conducted using peer-reviewed scholarly publications spanning from 2013 to 2023 to illuminate the influencing factors. Twelve papers focused on the factors influencing big data analytics (BDA) adoption in healthcare services were included for review. The factors were divided into four major groups namely i) person, ii) technology, iii) organization, and iv) environment. Analytical skills define a person, whereas technology is characterized by system quality and information quality. Organization support, organization resources, training, data governance, and evidencebased decision-making are all associated with the organization. Finally, government regulations are allocated to the environment. This review presents evidence of the socio-technical factors that influence big data analytics adoption in healthcare services. This article contributes to the growing literature on technological upgrading along global value chains, by focusing on the adoption of automation and digital technologies at different functional stages of the automotive value chain. It explores the constant tension that firms in emerging economies face between linking up to international trade and ensuring the upgrading of indigenous firms, which depends on the relationship between lead international firms' operations and capabilities at the local level. Drawing on extensive qualitative research in South Africa, including 39 interviews and observations at the shopfloor level, this paper examines the determinants for automation and digital technologies adoption. The finding extends existing knowledge of technological upgrading along global value chains, by examining both final assemblers and lower-tier suppliers. Four production specific drivers are identified: volume, quality, material-led adoption, and ergonomics. This paper suggests policymakers should consider sector heterogeneity and specific sector-technology combinations when designing policies to sustain digitalization and production upgrade. Growing scientific attention to technology has led to new guidelines for comprehending consumers' experiences with the technology. Understanding the relationship between technology and consumers is crucial for advancing thought as well as practice in this subject. This study aims to look at the origins, significant subjects, scientific advances, and future advancements in customer reactions to technological research. To accomplish this aim, we ran analysis in R with the visualization tools VOSviewer and Biblioshiny in order to conduct a bibliometric study. Employing the Boolean strategy, journal articles were obtained from the Scopus database up to August 17, 2022. This research looked at customer reactions to technology literature from various angles, including citations, journals, keywords, and geographies. Then, bibliographic coupling, co-citation, and co-occurrence analysis were carried out. The analysis showed how customer reactions to technology literature have changed over the past 2 decades. Objective: Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) of prematurity occurs in 20–38% of infants born < 28 weeks gestational age and 15% of infants born in 28–32 weeks gestational age. Treatment has evolved from conservative management and CSF diversion of temporizing and shunting procedures to include strategies aimed at primarily clearing intraventricular blood products. Neuroendoscopic lavage (NEL) aims to decrease the intraventricular blood burden under the same anesthetic as temporizing CSF diversion measures in cases of hydrocephalus from IVH of prematurity. Given the variety of neuroendoscopes, we sought to review the literature and practical considerations to help guide neuroendoscope selection when planning NEL. Methods: We conducted a systematic review of the literature on neuroendoscopic lavage in IVH of prematurity to examine data on the choice of neuroendoscope and outcomes regarding shunt rate. We then collected manufacturer data on neuroendoscopic devices, including inflow and outflow mechanisms, working channel specifications, and tools compatible with the working channel. We paired this information with the advantages and disadvantages reported in the literature and observations from the experiences of pediatric neurosurgeons from several institutions to provide a pragmatic evaluation of international clinical experience with each neuroendoscope in NEL. Results: Eight studies were identified; four neuroendoscopes have been used for NEL as reported in the literature. These include the Karl Storz Flexible Neuroendoscope, LOTTA® system, GAAB system, and Aesculap MINOP® system. The LOTTA® and MINOP® systems were similar in setup and instrument options. Positive neuroendoscope features for NEL include increased degrees of visualization, better visualization with the evolution of light and camera sources, the ability to sterilize with autoclave processes, balanced inflow and outflow mechanisms via separate channels, and a working channel. Neuroendoscope disadvantages for NEL may include special sterilization requirements, large outer diameter, and limitations in working channels. Conclusions: A neuroendoscope integrating continuous irrigation, characterized by measured inflow and outflow via separate channels and multiple associated instruments, appears to be the most commonly used technology in the literature. As neuroendoscopes evolve, maximizing clear visualization, adequate inflow, measured outflow, and large enough working channels for paired instrumentation while minimizing the footprint of the outer diameter will be most advantageous when applied for NEL in premature infants. As the concept of resilience is becoming a criterion in planning, water utilities are seeking support and practical guidance to enhance their conventional risk-based planning processes. This paper presents a resilience framework for urban water supply systems planning during the transition towards integrated water resources management. Based on a synthesis of literature across engineering, ecological and social sciences, resilient system performance is defined using crossings of fail-safe and safe-fail thresholds as key indicators. System performance curves conceptually illustrate the capabilities withstanding, absorptive, restorative, adaptive, transformative, and anticipative (WARATA), during sudden and gradual disruptions. Sustainability goals are explicitly considered in the resilience framework, and the role of transformative and anticipative capabilities to facilitate transitions is discussed. Specifically, the desirability of physical design and predicted community consequences from performance impact and collapse can be used in resilience management to prioritize between fail-safe and safe-fail system capacities. Finally, key considerations for operationalizing the framework are summarized, including how issues related to social justice can be addressed when simulating performance and deriving metrics. While this paper focuses on urban water supply, the framework could be applied to other service-providing infrastructure where resilience-based planning supported by quantitative evidence is required to inform investments. Self-efficacy is a topic of great interest in elementary preservice and inservice teacher education given that elementary teachers often have low self-efficacy for STEM teaching. In this article, we synthesize the existing literature on science and engineering teaching self-efficacy to (1) explore trends in science and engineering teaching self-efficacy research, (2) identify current gaps that exist in the literature, and (3) propose a visual model to provide future direction in research. Utilizing a qualitative meta-synthesis, we analyzed 88 articles focused on science and engineering teaching self-efficacy. Of these articles, 66 studied preservice teachers, 21 studied inservice teachers, and one included both preservice and inservice teachers. Findings indicate that the diversity of teacher education programs, both across the United States and globally, offers a rich context for considering a range of programmatic features that impact elementary teachers' science and engineering teaching self-efficacy. While efforts to increase self-efficacy span across preservice preparation courses and inservice professional development programs, details concerning the contexts in which science and engineering teaching self-efficacy develop are often limited, making it difficult to claim that gains in self-efficacy are lasting. Based on the meta-synthesis of the existing research findings and gaps in the literature, we offer recommendations to assist researchers and curriculum developers involved in preservice or inservice programs to address the persisting challenges related to science and engineering teaching self-efficacy. The implications for future research and practice in multiple contexts, such as educator preparation programs, teaching, and professional development that target increases in teacher self-efficacy, are discussed. Existing research in the shipbuilding field tends to focus on isolated single aspects of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) without a full picture. To address this gap, this paper seeks to offer a thorough and in-depth examination of the concepts and technologies necessary to integrate I4.0 into the design, construction, maintenance, and other stages throughout the entire life cycle of a ship. This paper will firstly examine the recent developments and identify the gaps in I4.0 application within shipbuilding. By conducting a systematic literature review on 68 publications through an appropriate review methodology, we synthesize the current state of I4.0 research in the shipbuilding industry, propose a framework for the application of I4.0 in shipbuilding to analyze the progression and research agenda of I4.0 in the shipbuilding sector, and discuss its implications. The Shipbuilding 4.0 framework proposed comprises five main components: concepts, value chain, smart factory, smart manufacturing, infrastructure, and technologies. The proposed framework aims to enhance the understanding of both academics and practitioners regarding the specific needs of the shipbuilding industry and the role I4.0 can and should play in its advancement. With the rapid development of science and technology, the integration and complexity of aerospace vehicles, weaponry, and large-scale chemical equipment are becoming higher and higher. PHM plays an important role in realizing reductions in equipment loss due to failures in many fields. In order to systematically sort through the research history of PHM and deeply analyze the development status of AR and DT technologies in the field of PHM, to clarify the current technical challenges and future development directions and to provide valuable references and insights for researchers, engineers, and decision-makers in the related fields, this paper summarizes the development of PHM in the engineering field. This paper summarizes the development of PHM in the field of engineering, from the initial PHM used in aerospace to the current PHM systems supported by various advanced technologies; analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of the digital twin and augmented reality technologies used for PHM; and organizes and summarizes the future directions and future research focuses of PHM research based on the existing technologies (mainly digital twins and augmented reality). After systematic research and study, we found that the integration of augmented reality and digital twin technologies will provide superb simulation capabilities and immersive operation and bring new challenges and opportunities. This study aimed to investigate the interrelationships between key harmful emission components, nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate numbers (PNs) in diesel engine exhaust and the control actuators of diesel engines. This research involved conducting a series of experiments under fixed parameters within an engine brake laboratory environment to elucidate these correlations. The objectives of this study were to conduct a comprehensive review of the relevant emissions technology literature and a comparative assessment of particle measurement methods based on dilution ratios and develop innovative aerosol preparation principles tailored to condensation particle measurement. Additionally, this research involved designing and implementing an aerosol preparation unit based on the newly developed principles, along with the creation of test cell control programs using the AVL PUMA Open TST editor interface and Visual Basic. Furthermore, this study was concerned with conducting evaluations of fixed-parameter engine dynamometer tests to explore the functional relationships between the emission of 10/23 nm particles, NOx emissions, common rail pressure variations, and exhaust gas recirculation levels. This study aimed to enhance the understanding of diesel engine emissions dynamics and contribute valuable insights for developing more efficient and environmentally friendly engine control strategies. Background: This systematic review of the literature on Latiné/x/a/o students in engineering was motivated by the recent increase in interest and thus scholarship about this population and the need for a nuanced understanding of the population's diversity. Purpose: This article's purpose is to provide a basis for critically exploring how heterogeneity within the Latiné/x/a/o engineering student population—and across the spectrum of pre‐college to graduate school—is used in engineering educational scholarship. The following research question is addressed: "How is the diversity within Latiné engineering students exemplified in the engineering education literature?" Scope/Method: This work was guided by a liberative approach as the driving framework to review and synthesize literature published in peer‐reviewed journal articles from 2005 to 2018 that met the following inclusion criteria: (i) population of interest included Latinés; (ii) focused on engineering or included engineering within the larger STEM; and (iii) studied K–20 education. Results: Sixty‐nine studies were reviewed and synthesized. Key findings include an insufficient focus on Latiné students, an increased use of purposeful and critical theoretical frameworks, and a lack of demographics used to present a nuanced understanding of Latiné students in engineering. Conclusions: We conclude that contextualized demographics should be included which enable analysis that provides nuanced understandings of Latiné students in engineering. While there is increased interest within engineering education to work with Latiné students, our findings point to the need of ensuring that research is conducted with cultural sensitivity, accuracy, and a nuanced understanding of the lived experiences of Latiné individuals. The objective of this study is to explore the enablers and inhibitors of AI‐enabled drone adoption for manufacturing process audit using a mixed‐method design. A qualitative study was performed to explore the enablers and inhibitors. Further, based on the findings of the qualitative studies, a framework was proposed, and proposed hypotheses were examined using a survey‐based study. The results indicated that function, environmental, and epistemic values are major enablers, whereas vulnerability and sunk cost barriers are major inhibitors to adoption intention. The initial trust and inertia were crucial mediators, and organizations' technological innovativeness played a crucial moderating role. This study enriches the literature on technological adoption for sustainability and helps audit service providers design strategies to enhance AI‐enabled drone adoption for process audits. This manuscript presents an inverse method to identify the constitutive constants of anisotropic homogeneous elastic solids. The data on which the inverse method is essentially based are natural frequencies, whose ease of measurement and quality of the same is well recognized by the technical literature. The main objective is to evaluate the minimum number of engineering constants that can characterize the material. Identifying the engineering constants is justified by their physical significance in the static traction measurements, with which the present dynamic characterization directly compares. The method is theoretically introduced within the framework of classical plate theory and its performances are corroborated by numerical and experimental comparisons. However, the experimental number of tests herein represents the most corroborating aspect of the theoretical predictions. The dynamic characterization is also compared to the static measurements. The Riemannian distance from the closest isotropic modules has assisted in drawing relevant conclusions regarding the materials herein analyzed, which are usually supposed to be isotropic. The use of externally bonded composite systems is recognized as an effective solution for strengthening existing reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Steel-reinforced grout (SRG) is an attractive option, because of its compatibility with the concrete substrate and mechanical properties. However, a critical aspect is the delamination that might affect the steel textile–mortar and the mortar–concrete substrate interfaces. An experimental and theoretical investigation of the SRG–concrete bond is reported in this paper. In particular, the bond performances of SRG-to-concrete joints, which varies the width of the SRG fabric, the displacement rate, and the applied load eccentricity, are analyzed for the stress that is associated with the bond capacity, slip, and failure modes based on the results that are obtained by direct single-lap shear tests. To assess a data set for model calibration, the findings of this paper and those in the technical literature are collected. Therefore, a machine learning (ML) approach that is based on an artificial neural networks (ANN) algorithm is implemented, and a new analytical formulation for the prediction of the SRG-to-concrete bond capacity is proposed. Background: Posterior clinoid process (PCP) meningioma is an exceedingly rare entity. It remains the most challenging skull base lesion for neurosurgeons due to its treacherous location that insinuates amongst critical neurovascular structures. This article will describe the technical notes using the endoscopic endonasal approach that provide the earliest devascularization and detachment of the tumor PCP meningioma. Methods: We are introducing the surgical implementation of an endoscopic endonasal approach to removing PCP meningioma. Furthermore, we perform a literature review of posterior clinoid process meningioma that undergoes surgical intervention, then summarize the benefits and limitations of each approach. Results: We present a case of right PCP meningioma that was removed using an endoscopic endonasal approach through the transposterior clinoid corridor in a 52-year-old-woman. We describe the technical notes in performing this approach to have the earliest devascularization and detachment of the tumor by performing posterior clinoidectomy. Safe tumor removal is performed with a wide and clear view of the surrounding neurovascular structure. Based on our database search, we found nine articles reported on the surgical management of PCP meningiomas, with a total number of 15 cases. All of the reported cases performed the tumor removal using the transcranial approach. Conclusion: The endoscopic endonasal transposterior clinoid approach circumvents all disadvantages faced by the traditional transcranial approach, providing the earliest approach to devascularized and detaching the tumor from its attachment at PCP. This approach demonstrates safety and efficacy, making it an acceptable alternative for PCP meningioma resections. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Generative AI is only a few years old but already being applied in Software Engineering (SE). This literature review examines the most popular SE sub-fields of such cases and research methods that are typically used. 117 studies starting from 2020 have been assessed, and literature review has shown that the most active research is ongoing in the code generation area. It is not clearly defined by researchers, but the majority of the methods can be assumed as experiments. It is concluded that researchers often do not define the used research method with exclusions such as literature review or opinion survey. Several works of literature contributed to the web evaluation process in recent years to promote digital inclusion by addressing several accessibility guidelines, methods, processes, and techniques. Researchers have investigated how the web evaluation process could be facilitated by including accessibility issues to obtain an inclusive and accessible solution to improve the user experience and increase user satisfaction. Three systematic literature reviews (SLRs) have been conducted in the context of past research, considering such research focuses. This paper presents a new SLR approach concerning accessibility in the web evaluation process, considering the period from 2010 to 2021. The review of 92 primary studies showed the contribution of publications on different phases of the web evaluation process mainly by highlighting the significant studies in the framework design and testing process. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study focused on the web accessibility literature reporting the engineering assets for evaluation of new accessible and inclusive web-based solutions (e.g., websites). Besides, in this study, we aim to provide a new direction to the web designers and developers with an updated view of process, methods, techniques, tools, and other crucial aspects to contribute to the accessible process enrichment, as well as depict the gaps and challenges that may be worthy to be investigated in the future. The findings of this SLR introduce a new dimension in web accessibility research on determining and mitigating the research gap of web accessibility issues for web designers, developers, and other practitioners. Expert consensus helps policymakers solve complex problems by identifying and legitimizing policy solutions. Yet, persistent hesitation remains among policymakers regarding the technically adequate policy solution despite the existence and mobilization of epistemic communities. This paper contends that more attention should be given to studying the epistemic competition that may arise when multiple epistemic communities grapple with the same problem but have divergent understandings of its technical nature and its adequate policy solutions. Building on Science and Technology Studies and on the literature on polarization, this paper suggests that two social dynamics, namely the mobilization of resources and increased polarization, may complexify the technical disagreement among experts. In turn, these dynamics may lead to a deadlock in the debates, negatively impacting the institutional context where they take place. To illustrate this, this paper analyzes the case of the pharmaceutical innovation system, which has been prone to tensions between experts arguing for strong patent protection and experts arguing for greater flexibility to meet public health needs. This paper builds on a mixed method combining a social network analysis of experts invited to provide their expertise in the WHO‐WTO‐WIPO Trilateral Cooperation events and on semi‐structured interviews with 24 of these experts. Stacking compacted filtered tailings has become an option to cope with the new Brazilian regulations while providing a safe disposal method for the tailings. It has become feasible due to recent developments in dewatering technologies. Still, the dewatering processes may need to be improved to attain acceptable moisture contents considering the on-field compactable range. Also, the filtered material's moisture content is highly influenced by the weather conditions, especially during the rainy season in the southeast of Brazil. Additives are a possible solution to accelerate moisture reduction. However, scientific studies in the technical literature still need to attest to the effectiveness of these methods to tailings, mainly on a full scale. Accordingly, the present research evaluates the performance of two additives to hasten filtered iron ore tailings drying for dry stacking purposes: commercially available quicklime and superabsorbent polymer. Also, undrained triaxial tests were conducted on specimens retrieved from on-field compacted layers to investigate the additive's influence on the tailings' mechanical behaviour. Initial confining pressures ranging from 100 to 600 kPa were used. The results have shown the inefficacy of the superabsorbent additives in boosting the drying process for on-field conditions and the efficiency of the quicklime in doing so. Furthermore, no substantial changes in the mechanical response were observed due to the insertion of quicklime. In recent years, there has been increased interest in the management of medial femorotibial knee osteoarthritis (OA) in conjunction with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency. Traditional treatment modalities included conservative therapy, high tibial osteotomy with or without ACL reconstruction, and total knee replacement. Since younger patients with higher physical demands are more likely to suffer from this pathological condition, reduced invasiveness, faster recovery time, and improved knee kinematics are preferred to allow for satisfying clinical and functional outcomes. Thus, a new surgical strategy combining medial unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR) and ACL reconstruction has been proposed to allow bone stock preservation, to reduce surgical morbidity and recovery time, and ultimately to improve joint kinematics and clinical outcomes. Based on the data present in the literature, in the setting of unicompartmental OA in association with ACL deficiency, UKR combined with ACL reconstruction provided encouraging early results. Studies evaluating the outcomes of combined ACL reconstruction and UKR demonstrate promising results in select patient populations. Improved knee stability, pain relief, functional recovery, and patient satisfaction improved after surgery. Moreover, the combined approach offered advantages such as reduced surgical trauma, faster rehabilitation, and preservation of native knee anatomy compared with traditional treatment strategies. However, still, high-level studies on this topic are lacking; therefore, more comparative studies reporting long-term outcomes are needed to support the potential of this combined procedure to become mainstream. In this paper, we discuss the relevant features and rationale behind the indications and technique of this combined surgical procedure, to help surgeons choose the correct therapeutic approach for a patient with concomitant medial OA and ACL insufficiency. Requirements Engineering (RE) has undergone several transitions over the years, from traditional methods to agile approaches emphasising increased automation. In many software development projects, requirements are expressed in natural language and embedded within large volumes of text documents. At the same time, RE activities aim to define software systems' functionalities and constraints. However, manually executing these tasks is time-consuming and prone to errors. Numerous research efforts have proposed tools and technologies for automating RE activities to address this challenge, which are documented in published works. This review aims to examine empirical evidence on automated RE and analyse its impact on the RE sub-domain and software development. To achieve our goal, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following established guidelines for conducting SLRs. We aimed to identify, aggregate, and analyse papers on automated RE published between 1996 and 2022. We outlined the output of the support tool, the RE phase covered, levels of automation, development approach, and evaluation approaches. We identified 85 papers that discussed automated RE from various perspectives and methodologies. The results of this review demonstrate the significance of automated RE for the software development community, which has the potential to shorten development cycles and reduce associated costs. The support tools primarily assist in generating UML models (44.7%) and other activities such as omission of steps, consistency checking, and requirement validation. The analysis phase of RE is the most widely automated phase, with 49.53% of automated tools developed for this purpose. Natural language processing technologies, particularly POS tagging and Parser, are widely employed in developing these support tools. Controlled experimental methods are the most frequently used (48.2%) for evaluating automated RE tools, while user studies are the least employed evaluation method (8.2%). This paper contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing an updated overview of the research literature, enabling a better understanding of trends and state-of-the-art practices in automated RE for researchers and practitioners. The negotiation of stakeholder values as a collaborative process throughout technology development has been studied extensively within the fields of Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Human-Computer Interaction. Despite their increasing significance for cybersecurity incident response, there is a gap in research on values of importance to the design of open-source intelligence (OSINT) technologies for this purpose. In this paper, we investigate which values and value conflicts emerge due to the application and development of machine learning (ML) based OSINT technologies to assist cyber security incident response operators. For this purpose, we employ a triangulation of methods, consisting of a systematic survey of the technical literature on the development of OSINT artefacts for cybersecurity (N = 73) and an empirical value sensitive design case study, comprising semi-structured interviews with stakeholders (N = 9) as well as a focus group (N = 7) with developers. Purpose: Investors are inattentive to continuous information as opposed to discrete information, resulting in underreaction to continuous information. This paper aims to examine if the well-documented return predictability of the strategies based on the ratio of short-term to long-term moving averages can be enhanced by conditioning on information discreteness. Anchoring bias has been the popular explanation for the source of underreaction in the context of moving averages-based strategies. This paper proposes and studies another possible source based on investor inattention that can potentially result in superior performance of these strategies. Design/methodology/approach: The paper uses portfolio sorting as well as Fama-MacBeth cross-sectional regressions. For examining the role of information discreteness in the return predictability of the moving average ratio, the sample stocks are double-sorted based on the moving average ratio and information discreteness measure. The returns to these portfolios are computed using standard approaches in the literature. The regression approach controls for various well-known return predictors. Findings: This study finds that the equally-weighted monthly returns to the long-short moving average ratio quintile portfolios increase monotonically from 0.54% for the discrete information portfolio to 1.37% for the continuous information portfolio over the 3-month holding period. This study observes a similar pattern in risk-adjusted returns, value-weighted portfolios, non-January returns, large and small stocks, for alternative holding periods and the ratio of 50-day to 200-day moving average. The results are robust to control for well-known return predictors in cross-sectional regressions. Research limitations/implications: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first paper to document the significant role of investor inattention to continuous information in the return predictability of strategies based on the moving average ratios. There are many underreaction anomalies that have been reported in the literature, and the paper's results can be extended to those anomalies in subsequent research. Practical implications: The findings of this paper have important practical implications. Strategies based on moving averages are an extremely popular component of a technical analyst's toolkit. Their profitability has been well-documented in the prior literature that attributes the performance to investors' anchoring bias. This paper offers a readily implementable approach to enhancing the performance of these strategies by conditioning on a straightforward measure of information discreteness. In doing so, this study extends the literature on the role of investor inattention to continuous information in anomaly profits. Originality/value: While there is considerable literature on technical analysis, and especially on the performance of moving averages-based strategies, the novelty of this paper is the analysis of the role of information discreteness in strategy performance. Not only does the paper document robust evidence, but the findings suggest that the investor's inattention to continuous information is a more dominant source of underreaction compared to anchoring. Electric power quality is becoming more critical with time because of the increasing use of electronic devices in all areas of society: in industry, in the household, etc. Many kinds of disturbances can be produced in the grid due to external or internal causes, such as, for example, switching operations. Among them, distortion and imbalance are long-term disturbances, which makes them very dangerous for electric equipment. In addition, the identification of the distortion and/or imbalance sources is quite difficult because they are instantaneously scattered by the grid. This paper presents a study of the algorithms published in the technical literature which identify distortion and imbalance sources in electrical installations and compares the results of applying them to a specific installation constituted by linear and non-linear, balanced and unbalanced loads, and a standard module to inject energy to the grid. Only two algorithms have been found in the review carried out and the results provided by both are presented and discussed. E-commerce has transformed the entire process of product sales between sellers and buyers, which has been of economic benefit for both parties. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the main decisive factors of this adoption, integrating aspects of Rogers' Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) model, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Through a quantitative method, data was collected and analyzed from 434 SMEs using a questionnaire. Findings highlight that the perceived ease and usefulness of e-commerce, influenced by perceived advantage and observability, are critical determinants in the decision to adopt these technologies. Additionally, it was found that management support and employees' knowledge of Information Technologies (IT) play a relevant role in this adoption. This study adds to the existing literature on technological adoption in SMEs, showing important insights for the northeastern region of Mexico and suggesting avenues for future research. Purpose: Drawing upon a systematic literature review in new technology, innovation transfer and diffusion theories, and from interviews with technology leaders in digital transformation programs in the US Oil & Gas (O&G) industry, the authors explore the relationships among O&G industry dynamics, organization's absorptive capacity and resource commitment for new digital technology adoption-implementation process. Design/methodology/approach: The authors employed the empirical survey method to gather the data (a sample size of 172) in the US O&G industry and used structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the measurement model for validity and reliability and the conceptual model for hypothesized structural relationships. Findings: The results provide support for the study's causal model of adoption and implementation with positive and direct relationships between the initiation and trial stages, between the trial stages and the evaluation of effective outcomes and between the effective outcomes and the effective implementation stages of digital technologies. The results also reveal partial mediating relationships of industry dynamics, absorptive capacity and resource commitment between respective stages. Practical implications: Based on the current study's findings, managers are recommended to pay attention to the evolving industry dynamics during the initiation stage of new digital technology adoption, to utilize the organization's knowledge-based absorptive capacity during digital technology trial and selection stages and to support the digital technology implementation project when the adoption decision of a particular digital technology has been made. Originality/value: The empirical research contributes literature on digital technology adoption and implementation by identifying and demonstrating the importance of industry dynamics, absorptive capacity and resource commitment factors as mediating variables at various stages of the adoption-implementation process and empirically validating a process-based causal model of digital technology adoption and a successful implementation project that has been missing in the current body of literature on digital transformation. Literature on technological decline and related concepts is growing. We aim to advance theorizations of the dynamics of technological decline by mobilizing the concept of sociotechnical configuration and a metaphor of its "unraveling." We take as a case study the declined Soviet computer series Ural. Ural was once among the top three most used computers in the former Soviet Union, but went into decline and got lost even before the dissolution of the country. We find that technological decline is not a trivial process, it is not guaranteed to be gradual but can feature sudden shifts. These shifts can be drops of production and loss of knowledge, as well as efforts to push back. Policy could make use of ongoing processes of decline and try to replicate the effect of the decline of Ural via cessation of access to materials and competences and delegitimation of the technology. The use of knowledge graph analysis for chronic disease nursing based on visualization technology and literature big data is an unexplored area of research in this field of study. To uncover research hotspots and developmental trends in the field of chronic disease nursing, and to provide a scholarly reference, we employed mathematical and statistical methods along with CiteSpace literature visualization analysis software for quantitative analysis of extensive literature data from the Web of Science Core Collection. We examined aspects such as publication trends, journals, author collaborations, research institutions, national and regional distributions, keyword co-occurrence, clustering, time zones, emergence, literature co-citations, and more. These analyses identified the current hotspots and future directions for research. Notably, scholars' interest in chronic disease nursing exhibited a consistent upward trajectory. In particular, the field of artificial intelligence technology application in nursing yielded 3, 610 published papers in 141 journals with more than or equal to 10 published papers on the topic, accounting for 58.41% of the total number of published papers in this field of study. Furthermore, the top three publishers were the "Journal of Clinical Nursing," "Journal of Advanced Nursing," and "BMC Health Services Research." Among authors, Hu, Frank B., Willett, Walter C., and Rimm, Eric B., ranked as the top three, and 12 authors had more than 10 publications. The most active research institutions included Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, Brigham & Women's Hospital, University of California System, University of London, US Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, University of Sydney, and the University of Toronto. The United States, Australia, England, China, Canada, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Germany emerged as the leading countries in terms of research output, while emerging hotspots encompassed topics such as incidence, rheumatoid arthritis, qualitative research, burnout, kidney transplantation, critical illness, COVID-19, Sars-COV-2, public health, and the well-being of medical staff. In this paper, a critical review of the geoelectrical monitoring activities carried out in seismically active areas is presented and discussed. The electrical resistivity of rocks is one of the geophysical parameters of greatest interest in the study of possible seismic precursors, and it is strongly influenced by the presence of highly fractured zones with high permeability and fluid levels. The analysis in the present study was carried out on results obtained over the last 50 years in seismic zones in China, Japan, the USA and Russia. These past works made it possible to classify the different monitoring strategies, analyze the theoretical models for interpreting possible correlations between anomalies in resistivity signals and local seismicity, and identify the main scientific and technological gaps in the literature. In addition, great attention has been paid to some recent works on the study of the correlations between focal mechanisms and the shapes of anomalous patterns in resistivity time series. In response to the opportunities and challenges posed by rapid technological advancement, digital transformation (DT) has recently emerged as a key concept in higher engineering education. DT involves using digital technologies to transform educational and pedagogical practices to enhance the learning and teaching experiences, prepare students for the needs of industry, and foster innovation. Despite a growing number of small-scale empirical studies concentrating on digitalization at lower single-activity and classroom levels, the practices of traditional education largely remain. There is a need for more systematic and holistic frameworks to facilitate and guide DT in engineering education. This study reviews 13 studies, using a systematic approach to identify and analyze the literature on frameworks for DT of engineering education. Several characteristics are identified, including types of DT frameworks and models; drivers of DT; and digital learning tools and types. In addition, various anticipated outcomes of DT reported in the included studies are described at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Recommendations for future practices for engineering students, educators, and institutions and future research directions for engineering educational researchers are also proposed to support the further development of digital education. This article is a comprehensive review of the literature on smart technology in consumer studies from 1996 to 2023. While the paper provides information about the development of the field by identifying important publications and authors, it employs topic modeling to pinpoint key topics in papers published in marketing and business journals. These topics are then grouped into three research streams and evaluated concerning theoretical, contextual, and methodological perspectives. While doing so, specific gaps were identified. By revealing gaps in the literature, the study suggests promising avenues for further research. Finally, this article advances our comprehension of the smart technology literature in marketing and business journals and informs future inquiry in this rapidly evolving domain. This paper provides an analytical review of the literature on the role of technology cycle time (TCT) in the catching-up process of latecomers at the firm, sectoral, and national levels. At the national level, latecomer economies follow a detour that consists of economic growth through specialization in short-TCT sectors during the catching-up phase, followed by a shift to long-TCT sectors in the post-catching-up phase. The paper then discusses the double-edged nature of TCT at the sectoral level, such that short TCT can either be a window of opportunity associated with the rapid obsolescence of existing technologies and thus low entry barriers, or another source of difficulty associated with the truncation of learning from existing technologies. Only latecomers with a certain absorptive capacity can benefit from short TCT as a window of opportunity. Finally, at the firm level, this paper discusses the issue of possible convergence in the behavior of catching-up firms towards those of mature firms in advanced economies. At all three levels, the keywords are detours and convergence. Given the barriers to entry in long-TCT sectors, latecomers pursue a strategy of detouring into short-TCT sectors. That is, instead of trying to emulate incumbents by entering long-TCT sectors, latecomers take the opposite route. Subsequently, as latecomers improve their capabilities over time, they shift their specialization from short to long TCT sectors, thereby achieving convergence in behavior and strategy at the firm, sectoral, and national levels. The full dress and uniforms of Ming dynasty officials take "four piece system" as the structural framework, presenting the shape characteristics of "Baoyi Boxiu". The research method of "double evidence" was based on the combination of physical object and literature to restore the technical problemes of the structural conflict between the "Baoyi" and "Boxiu" of Ming offical uniforms. The results show that the official attire of Ming dynasty is created through the technique of "choosing sleeves and ears", which not only satisfied the constraints of ritual rules but also achieved the goal of frugality, proving that the creation logic of "whole piece and few cuts" in official attire is well applied in the practice of frugality to cultivate virtue. This study reviews the last ten years of literature relating technology and knowledge transfer with issues that permeate urban planning. In order to compose the bibliographic portfolio of articles, the methodology Methodi Ordinatio was employed in order to qualify and rank the papers according to their scientific relevance. Papers from the last ten years are used as the study framework. Results indicate that the subject, applied to the context of cities, it is little explored and existing studies are predominantly theoretical. Purpose: Despite rapid growth in blockchains, there was limited discussion about non-technical and technical factors on blockchain governance in the extant literature. This study aims to contribute new knowledge to the literature on potential factors affecting the adoption, governance and scale-up of blockchain technologies in the health-care and energy sectors, presented in a holistic framework. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopts the qualitative case study research methodology to research blockchain governance in practice. The authors contacted a national blockchain consortium to conduct their research on the governance issue of blockchain. Two leading case organizations, one from the health-care industry and another from the energy industry, were deliberately selected for their study for their active role and reputation in the consortium and practical experience in blockchain governance. Findings: The developed framework helps identify potential research gaps or concerns on adopting a blockchain as well as assessing blockchain implementation and governance in other industries. Depending on the circumstances, some of the factors can be either drivers or obstacles to further blockchain development. The different forces may also be more or less evident over time as blockchains develop. The two real-world case studies contribute to the information technology governance literature on blockchain governance. Originality/value: The results of this case studies will be beneficial for developing theories and empirical models to determine antecedents for achieving consensus and trust in blockchain and testing the relationship between these factors and blockchain governance at different levels. Enterprise architecture is a growing trend that aims to help deal with the complexity of socio‐technical systems such as human organizations, as well as their information technology and systems areas. Nevertheless, the contribution of enterprise architecture to the field of software engineering remains unclear. The purpose of this systematic literature review is to see how enterprise architecture is used in software development and maintenance practice. To this end, we first carried out a search in the SCOPUS database and then organized the papers according to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge to determine what areas of software engineering are covered by each research study. To understand how enterprise architecture is used, we established a classification based on ISO 42010 and TOGAF. From the systematic literature review, we noticed that the early stages of development are the most impacted by the enterprise architecture. On the other hand, we observed that enterprise architecture is of assistance in the areas of engineering management, engineering processes, and engineering models and methods; these tasks are carried out by teams or managers using different, often agile, development methods or standards. In turn, we found that the most common categories are architecture descriptions; these are often used to facilitate communication and information‐sharing between different stakeholders, in addition to frameworks, which will help to establish common practices in the organization related to the joint use of enterprise architecture and software development. The article reveals the pragmatic implications of Herman Cappelen's account of 'topics' in his contribution to the conceptual engineering literature. I show that Cappelen's introduction of the category of 'topics' serves the pragmatic goal of having a convenient handle to account for 'continuity in revision', and that his general insistence on 'continuity' is motivated morally and strategically. In asking what accounts for continuity, Cappelen's 'topics' are not defined by content or any other fixed set of rules or criteria. Topics are metaphysically lightweight and defined pragmatically and as we go: speakers talk about the same topic when we (and they) attribute that they do. But why should we do that? Why should we aim for continuity and why should we think it is possible in general? I contrast Cappelen's insistence on continuity with Rorty's appeal for discontinuity, and trace both of their positions back to their respective moral background assumptions and their assumptions about what communication is (and is for) and, in turn, what philosophy is (and is about). Further, I question the role the 'continuity' claim plays in the current redefinition of linguistic philosophy after the 'death of the linguistic turn'. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reconstruction is a central notion in Dewey's account of inquiry and in his metaphilosophical commitments. In his work, Dewey made a call for reconstruction of philosophy, in the reconstruction of central notions of the discipline, like knowledge, logic, truth, the good, reason, and experience. Inquiry itself is reconstructive, according to Dewey, involving the transformation of an indeterminate situation into one which is determinate and understood. Dewey's philosophical views should therefore be of interest to those taking part in the recent turn towards revisionary philosophical methodologies, like conceptual engineering, explication, and amelioration. In light of the recent developments in revisionary methodologies, I aim to explore Dewey's conception of concepts in relation to the conceptual engineering literature, suggesting that it provides a useful conception of concepts for conceptual engineering, and to suggest a Deweyan model of philosophical inquiry where concepts are the objects of inquiry. This article offers a critical analysis of the region's technological journey over the past century, revealing how the pursuit of the digital aligns with a historical quest for modernity and aspirations for socioeconomic development. By examining the cultural origins and trajectory of the region's engagement with technology, the article illuminates how the present is inextricably linked to the past through multiple temporalities. It contends that a mnemonic connection with modernization, as a culturally embedded concept, is essential for comprehending the unfolding digital turn and engaging with the region's adoption of various technologies, including the digital. This article contributes to the expanding body of literature on the intersection of technology and society in the Middle East. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasing in popularity in various sectors, simultaneously rasing the challenge of detecting those with low radar cross sections (RCS). This review paper aims to assess the current state-of-the-art in radar technology, focusing on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and beamforming techniques, to address this growing concern. It explores the challenges associated with detecting UAVs in urban settings and adverse weather conditions, where traditional radar systems often do not succeed. This paper examines the existing literature and technological advancements to understand how these methodologies can significantly boost detection capabilities under the constraints of low RCS. In particular, MIMO technology, renowned for its spatial multiplexing, and beamforming, with its directional signal enhancement, are evaluated for their efficacy in the context of UAV surveillance and defense strategies. Ultimately, a comprehensive comparison is presented, drawing on a variety of studies to illustrate the combined potential of integrating these technologies, providing the way for future developments in radar system design and UAV detection. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the qualities of Miscanthus pellets blended with pine sawdust at various ratios (Miscanthus/pine sawdust—0:100, 25:75, 50:50, 75:25, and 100:0) and relate them to energy generation potential under typical production conditions of the widely used bioenergy production technologies according to literature. Samples of each material were milled to the required sizes and blended in the proportions mentioned above. Water was added (6%) to each mixture to achieve a uniform moisture content of 10% on wet basis. The mixtures were then subjected to pressure agglomeration in the form of mechanical compression using a single pellet press so that homogeneously sized fuel pellets were obtained. Thereafter, the pure and blended pellet samples were examined using a range of analytical techniques to reveal any alterations in characteristics important to the utilization of the pellets as a green energy source. The results showed that, although temperature variations generally caused an estimated 6% moisture loss on a wet basis during pelleting with positive influence on the features of the pellets, the quality of the pellets in terms of ash composition (2–4%), hardness (41–46 kg/pellet), and heating value (20–21 MJ/kg) was in general more desirable for the blended pellets than for pure Miscanthus pellet. Structural analysis also revealed low levels of hydrophobic groups in the blends relative to pure Miscanthus, which were consistent with the fractions of pine sawdust and were also the reason for the pellets' increased hardness.
