Practices of online censorship around boys' love (danmei) in mainland China have exhibited continuous change, with varying media targets and nominal justifications. This article explores dynamic transformations in the strategies employed by authorities, media platforms, and danmei creators throughout different time periods. Based on the authors' archival research, the censorship of danmei can be classified into three distinct stages: the years 2004 to 2015, 2016 to 2020, and 2021 to the present. These periods are distinguished by the primary danmei media form that authorities most often target for censorship. We argue that China's digital censorship apparatus has given rise to an unrelenting and intensifying suppression of danmei content, which is further bolstered by the sustained promotion of a media discourse that fosters a culture of disdain for danmei, and hence, has limited spaces for the expansion of danmei fandom and its practitioners' creativity. Moreover, we suggest that there is a continuous and combative interplay between danmei culture and censorship, wherein creative practices become highly responsive to government regulations and vice versa. Instagram started in San Francisco, yet it has been clear that its usage has spread worldwide. The influence of this global outreach is apparent not only in the platform's general use, however, but in unique content trends as well. In particular, there is Instapoetry, the movement of minimalist poetry that has taken Instagram and the rest of the world by storm since 2018. Although Instapoetry was dominated by writers based in English-speaking countries at its outset, it has now become extremely popular across multiple nations and languages, a truly transnational and translingual cultural phenomenon. As these writers emerge from a vast cultural landscape, it has become critical to examine how the various Instapoets across cultures resemble each other in some ways, yet vastly diverge in others. This series of essays seek to examine how Instapoetry as a transglobal movement evolves within its capitalistic platform, studying the manner that users may escape or re-establish digital hegemonic structures. From Malawi to Greece, India to Norway, the First Nations to Latin America, these critical pieces show how Instapoets may alternatively use social media poems as tools of weaponry, commercialisation, protest, and healing. Guided by a desire-centred framework, this article explores how Tenille Campbell (Dene/Métis) uses Instagram as a space for contemporary muiltimedia artistic practice. Her poetry, photography, and other creative endeavours have presented meaningful opportunities for community-building and identity-affirmation as a force specifically for Indigenous resurgence across national, tribal, and geographical lines. The first section begins with a discussion of desire-centred research as it intersects with Indigenous new media studies and decolonial methodologies. Later sections argue that Campbell's artistic expressions nurture emotional, mental, communal, and spiritual connections to land, thereby growing a virtual landedness—especially in relation to the erotic, which best captures Campbell's project of community-building and identity-affirmation. Lastly, this article highlights the remediation of Campbell's poetry into fashionwear, which simultaneously cultivates networks of Indigenous women entrepreneurs. Her poetry, evinced as a co-creative, community-based, multidisciplinary literary arts practice, surpasses its manifestation on social media, and should be understood as a multimodal constellation that has impacts that ripple far beyond digital environments. The article discuses the hyper textual edition of the novel "Frankenstein". It is reported that the edition would encounter the shorter commentaries as footnotes in order to enrich the reading experience without diverting for too long from author's work. It is further reported that hyper textual edition of Frankenstein can be assembled quickly and could facilitate engagement in the textual and interpretive problems that would make the task of editing, interpreting, and curating more meaningful.

Comparative reports on (T-)ICL are either equal or superior over LASIK in terms of visual performance (safety, efficacy, predictability, and stability), higher-order aberrations, and contrast sensitivity for myopia and astigmatism >−3 D. This systematic review compares the visual and refractive outcome of laser in situ keratomileusis with (toric) implantable collamer lens (ICL) in the treatment of myopic astigmatism. An electronic literature search led to 19 comparative articles. Refractive outcome, efficacy, safety, predictability, and stability as well as differences in contrast sensitivity and higher-order aberrations (HOAs) were analyzed for moderate (−3 to −6 diopters [D]) and high (≥−6 D) myopia. Results were either significantly in favor of (toric)-ICL or equal. Fewer HOAs and better contrast sensitivity after (toric)-ICL seem to be the largest asset in its refractive and clinical superiority. Bridget Pratt and Adrian Harper (2021) conducted a comparison of articles identified through six electronic literature searches. Their aim was to "identify ethics literature... that discussed combatting neo-colonial models of research". They used manifest content analysis to compare the conceptual content of articles from the fields of global health (GH) and Australian Aboriginal health (AH). This innovative application of a literature review approach from literary and media studies, to health sciences in which literature reviews have traditionally focused on synthesizing evidence about intervention effectiveness, should be commended. It has potential to advance theoretical understandings of ethics in health research. The impact of environmental context on the psychological benefits derived from physical activity has attracted research attention in recent years. Previous reviews have compared effects of indoor versus outdoor exercise. This review compares the effects of physical activity undertaken in outdoor green natural environments versus outdoor urban environments on psychological health outcomes in adult general populations. An electronic literature search identified 24 experimental studies meeting the inclusion criteria. Results were analysed via narrative synthesis (n = 24) and meta‐analysis (n = 9) of effect on six outcomes. Narrative synthesis found in favour of the natural environment for anxiety, anger/hostility, energy, affect and positive engagement. Post‐intervention effect sizes suggested duration and social context as potential moderators. The meta‐analyses revealed large or moderate effects in favour of the natural environment for anxiety, fatigue, positive affect and vigour, and a small effect for depression. Results were subject to high risk of bias and heterogeneity. Physical activity undertaken outdoors in natural environments is more beneficial for a range of psychological outcomes compared with urban environments. The various effect sizes evident in the meta‐analyses may be explained by differing mechanisms through which psychological gains are experienced during physical activity in nature. Millions of users write and read freely accessible texts every day on online literary platforms (OLPs). Intra-platform surveys aside, only very few studies have considered the demographics of digital readers and authors. Our exploratory study of avid OLP users helps to close this research gap. We requested an international sample of OLP users (13 years and above) to complete an online questionnaire. Our survey gathered demographic data and information about participants' OLP usage, motivation, (communicative) relationship with other users, and perceptions of the positive effects of OLP usage (Nmax = 315). Among others, our results not only reinforce the theoretical concept of wreading but also indicate that OLPs are likely to enhance the pleasure derived from writing and reading. Our data show that OLP usage is not limited to adolescent users. Reportedly, for participants from Generation Y as well as from Generation Z, the experience of creative freedom and the possibility to get direct reader feedback are major motivational factors to write on OLPs. Also, our data indicate that our surveyed writers on OLPs prefer short stories. We call for more longitudinal investigations and for a common theoretical framework, in order to strengthen future research on digital literature practices and to be able to implement the didactic potential of OLPs in the classroom. While early research in digital storytelling was primarily based on a mixture of digital media, the last 10 years has seen a rapid increase in the use of advanced technologies such as augmented reality (AR), wearable, tangible, and mobile devices. Although a proliferation of digital storytelling authoring tools has been introduced to improve learning, there is a lack of systematic review to inform how it has been designed and developed as well as implemented in education. This paper presents a systematic review of 91 studies highlighting the technology and use trends related to authoring tools in educational digital storytelling. Our analysis identifies best practices in designing the authoring tools, synthesized as design guidelines for future researchers and practitioners in the field. In this article, we will discuss the preservation of works of Latin American digital literature and the construction of digital archives. Background: Adolescents have been overlooked in global public health initiatives as this period is generally considered to be the healthiest in an individual's life course. However, the growth of the global adolescent population and their changing health profiles have called attention to the diverse health needs of adolescents. The increased attention toward adolescent health has accentuated existing gaps as global health reports have emphasised that there is a continued need for valid and reliable health data. In this context, evidence has shown that mental health issues constitute one of the greatest burdens of disease for adolescents. This integrative review aims to unpack the meaning of mental wellness among adolescents and its associated constructs by analysing and synthesising empirical and theoretical research on adolescent mental wellness. In doing this, we will develop a working definition of adolescent mental wellness that can be used to develop an instrument aimed at measuring adolescent mental wellness. Methods: The integrative review is guided by the five steps described by Whittemore and Knafl. A comprehensive search strategy which will include carefully selected terms that correspond to the domains of interest (positive mental health/mental wellness) will be used to search for relevant literature on electronic databases, grey literature and government or non-governmental organisations (NGO) websites. Studies will be included if they describe and/or define general mental wellness in adolescent populations aged 10–19. The screening and reporting of the review will be conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Data from the integrative review will be analysed using narrative framework synthesis for qualitative and quantitative studies. Discussion: This integrative review aims to search for and synthesise current research regarding adolescent mental wellness to identify how wellness is being described and conceptualised. We aim to identify gaps and to contribute to a more comprehensive definition of mental wellness which can aid in the development of an age- and culturally appropriate measure of adolescent mental wellness. Background: Preoperative colonic stenting for malignant large bowel obstruction (MLBO), also called bridge to surgery (BTS), is considered a great substitute treatment for emergency resection (ER) in the left-sided colon. However, its efficacy in the right-sided colon remains controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the postoperative short-term outcomes between BTS and ER for right-sided MLBO.Methods: A comprehensive electronic literature search throughout December 2020 was performed to identify studies comparing short-term outcomes between BTS and ER for right-side MLBO. The main outcome measures were postoperative complications and mortality rates. A meta-analysis was performed using a fixed-effect or a random-effect method to calculate odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs).Results: Seven studies were included in this meta-analysis, comprising 5136 patients, of whom 1662 (32.4%) underwent BTS and 3474 (67.6%) underwent ER. This meta-analysis demonstrated that BTS resulted in reductions in postoperative complications (OR = 0.78; 95% CI: 0.66-0.92) and mortality (OR = 0.51; 95% CI: 0.28-0.92) than ER.Conclusion: The results of this meta-analysis indicate that BTS for right-sided MLBO confers preferable short-term outcomes as well as for left-sided. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, representing Ifemelu's blogging in Americanah (2014), shows Black immigrant communities revising public discourse on intersections of race, culture, and nationality, effectively expanding conceptions of Blackness in America. Ifemelu's blogs, Raceteenth, or Various Observations about American Blacks (Those Formerly Known as Negroes) by a Non-American Black and The Small Redemptions of Lagos are a dialogic digital literature functioning as a diasporic, communal textual space. This article focuses on Ifemelu's blogging activity, both in the United States and upon her return to Nigeria, and explores how she creates and sustains a digital, dialogic construction of home space where "non-American Blacks" and "Nigerpolitans" can reorder their lives after transnational displacement. Americanah , a novel of migration, shows that diaspora is where constructions of identity and home are provisional and continuously constructed and Adichie represents Ifemelu's blogs as diasporic spaces where Black migratory subjects (re)constitute identity and home. The blog platform is particularly well suited for the cultural work of the geographically dispersed diasporic community. Further, Black immigrants in dialogue with Ifemelu consider a consciousness of their racialized immigrant identities to be a prerequisite for negotiating their belonging in the United States. Ifemelu's identity as a migratory subject and her ambivalence about her belonging in both the United States and Nigeria complicate a reading of her return to Lagos as a homegoing; her creation of a new blog, the revival of her digital diaspora, reveals her need to explore her continuously shifting identity and its relationship to the provisional nature of home. Past decades have seen increasing worldwide interest in child abuse research. No comprehensive reviews that address child abuse research in Jordan have been published. This review sought to synthesize and critique published research literature on child abuse in Jordan from 2000 onwards in order to establish what is known about the extent and pattern of this problem. An electronic literature search of child abuse studies conducted in Jordan was done by using PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO. The search yielded 13 published studies on child abuse in Jordan between 2000 and 2018. Child sexual abuse (CSA) was addressed in four studies; emotional child abuse in two studies; and physical child abuse in two studies. Different forms of child abuse were addressed in five studies. Self-reports were the most commonly used data collection instruments. The majority of informants were children under the age of 18. Main issues addressed were prevalence estimates of child abuse, consequences of child abuse, and perceptions and knowledge regarding child abuse. While the prevalence rates of different types of child abuse reported varied considerably, the estimates provided by the majority of studies conducted in Jordan were roughly comparable to estimates reported in other developing countries. Several studies documented the negative consequences of child abuse and revealed a widespread lack of awareness of methods of reporting child abuse cases or community support agencies. This review demonstrates that children in Jordan are subjected to all forms of child abuse. The growth in internet adoption has made digital coupons a popular promotional tool. However, the extant literature on digital coupons is at an embryonic stage and requires theory building. This study adopts an inductive grounded theory approach to explore the new horizons for digital coupon redemption. The results showed that the intention to search and subscribe is a key driver of redemption, while coupon proneness and coupon acquisition value are its dimensions. Social media reviews, past experience, privacy risk, and customization are more relevant today for coupon redemption. Background: Overall survival (OS) is the gold‐standard end point for oncology trials. However, the availability of multiple therapeutic options after progression and crossover to receive investigational agents confound and delay OS data maturation. Progression‐free survival 2 (PFS‐2), defined as the time from randomization to progression on first subsequent therapy, has been proposed as a surrogate for OS. Using a meta‐analytic approach, the authors aimed to assess the association between OS and PFS‐2 and compare this with progression‐free survival 1 (PFS‐1) and the objective response rate (ORR). Methods: An electronic literature search was performed to identify randomized trials of systemic therapies in advanced solid tumors that reported PFS‐2 as a prespecified end point. Correlations between OS and PFS‐2, OS and PFS‐1, and OS and ORR as hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) were assessed via linear regression weighted by trial size. Results: Thirty‐eight trials were included, and they comprised 19,031 patients across 8 tumor types. PFS‐2 displayed a moderate correlation with OS (r = 0.67; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.08‐0.69). Conversely, correlations of ORR (r = 0.12; 95% CI, 0.00‐0.13) and PFS‐1 (r = 0.21; 95% CI, 0.00‐0.33) were poor. The findings for PFS‐2 were consistent for subgroup analyses by treatment type (immunotherapy vs nonimmunotherapy: r = 0.67 vs 0.67), survival post progression (<12 vs ≥12 months: r = 0.86 vs 0.79), and percentage not receiving subsequent treatment (<50% vs ≥50%: r = 0.70 vs 0.63). Conclusions: Across diverse tumors and therapies, the treatment effect on PFS‐2 correlated moderately with the treatment effect on OS. PFS‐2 performed consistently better than PFS‐1 and ORR, regardless of postprogression treatment and postprogression survival. PFS‐2 should be included as a key trial end point in future randomized trials of solid tumors. The treatment effect on progression‐free survival 2 correlates moderately to strongly with the treatment effect on overall survival. Data visualization tools have the potential to support decision-making for public health professionals. This review summarizes the science and evidence regarding data visualization and its impact on decision-making behavior as informed by cognitive processes such as understanding, attitude, or perception. An electronic literature search was conducted using six databases, including reference list reviews. Search terms were pre-defined based on research questions. Sixteen studies were included in the final analysis. Data visualization interventions in this review were found to impact attitude, perception, and decision-making compared to controls. These relationships between the interventions and outcomes appear to be explained by mediating factors such as perceived trustworthiness and quality, domain-specific knowledge, basic beliefs shared by social groups, and political beliefs. Visualization appears to bring advantages by increasing the amount of information delivered and decreasing the cognitive and intellectual burden to interpret information for decision-making. However, understanding data visualization interventions specific to public health leaders' decision-making is lacking, and there is little guidance for understanding a participant's characteristics and tasks. The evidence from this review suggests positive effects of data visualization can be identified, depending on the control of confounding factors on attitude, perception, and decision-making. Summary: Adults with lower incomes are disproportionately affected by poverty, food insecurity, obesity, and diet‐related non‐communicable diseases (NCDs). In 2020–2021 amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanded the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Online Purchasing Pilot program to enable eligible participants to purchase groceries online in 47 states. This expansion underscores the need for SNAP adults to have digital literacy skills to make healthy dietary choices online. Currently, a digital literacy model does not exist to help guide USDA nutrition assistance policies and programs, such as SNAP. We conducted a systematic scoping review of the academic and gray literature to identify food, nutrition, health, media, financial, and digital literacy models. The search yielded 40 literacy models and frameworks that we analyzed to develop a Multi‐dimensional Digital Food and Nutrition Literacy (MDFNL) model with five literacy levels (i.e., functional, interactive, communicative, critical, and translational) and a cross‐cutting digital literacy component. Utilization of the MDFNL model within nutrition assistance policies and programs may improve cognitive, behavioral, food security, and health outcomes and support equity, well‐being, digital inclusion, and healthy communities to reduce obesity and NCD risks. Acne vulgaris is one of the most common dermatologic complaints. Recently, isotretinoin has been used as an off‐label indication for the treatment of mild‐to‐moderate grades of acne not responding to conventional treatment. Its conventional recommended dose is 0.5–1.0 mg/kg per day to the cumulative dose of 120–150 mg/kg. To qualify the state of evidence and analyze the efficacy of the low‐daily dose and the pulsed doses of isotretinoin in treating mild‐to‐moderate acne patients with regards to response and relapse rates. Systematic review and meta‐analysis using an electronic literature search were performed. The 320 potentially relevant articles were included and reviewed. The level of evidence is moderate to low as conducted by the GRADE quality of evidence assessment. The pooled statistical estimate for response to treatment in the group comparing low‐daily doses with conventional dose showed an overall benefit for conventional dose. On the other hand, pooled data from the group comparing the low‐daily dose with the pulsed doses yielded an overall beneficial effect from using the low‐daily dose compared with the pulsed doses on achieving the response. Given all of the available studies, the quality of evidence is low. It appears that conventional dose isotretinoin improves the odds of prolonged remission in adults with mild‐to‐moderate acne vulgaris compared to the low doses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study aims to create a resource by scanning the data on Masters theses on construction and building physics under the department of architecture in universities in Turkey between 2000 and 2018. The study is important because there are currently no printed and digital literature reviews on this subject available. The sampling of the study consists of Master's theses from the department of architecture in the HEC National Thesis Center system. In the study, were examined 850 accessible Master's theses on the topic of construction and building physics from the departments of architecture of universities in Turkey. The language, year, city, university, title, method, and keywords of the theses were evaluated using a bibliometric and content analysis method. In this context, the study aims to create a source for the research and to guide the selection of methods and topics. It was observed that the subjects addressed in the theses from the construction technology department in architecture at a graduate education level vary depending on the developing technology and needs, and studies on energy and acoustics have increased. In 2014, Sweden's Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) was announced with a fanfare. This article critically interrogates how Sweden implements the FFP through digital diplomacy by investigating the extent of Sweden's gender equality activities on Twitter since the introduction of the FFP and by tracing gendered online abuse in digital diplomacy. I focus on Swedish embassy tweets towards two countries where feminism is highly contested – Poland and Hungary. The theoretical inspiration comes from discursive approaches to the spoken and unspoken, enriched by feminist observations about the non-binary character of voice/silence. The method applied is gender-driven quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The findings demonstrate that the FFP has not set any significant mark on digital diplomacy in the analyzed cases. The launching of the FFP went completely unnoticed and posts related to gender equality have actually decreased since 2014. There are no traces of ambassadors being subjected to gendered online abuse, but heavily xenophobic and paternalistic language is directed at Sweden as a representative of liberal policies. The article contributes to the literature on digital diplomacy by highlighting the (lack of) links between foreign policy and digital diplomacy and it addresses a gap by focusing on gender in digital diplomacy. This is the second of two linked articles that aim to present new ways of mapping literature by means of digital tools for the twenty-first century. The preceding article articulated the need to move beyond the mapping of literary texts onto geographic sites in the world and into the mapping of space relationally in nonreferential ways by means of literary topology. This second article seeks to make a larger case for new ways of working in the digital humanities and suggests that new methods of analysis and new tools are needed. It articulates an integrated visual–verbal method of interpretation that combines the close reading of spatial meanings and structures within a text with analysis of the map series generated out of that same text in an iterative structure. It also argues for the value of layers of mapping and of comparative mapping of the same place both referentially and nonreferentially. The literary texts chosen to exemplify the method are Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. This commentary advances the 'hack' as an urban concept. While the hack transcends existing literatures on the digital and informality, it is a distinctive concept and is being used systematically in new domains. I situate the hack conceptually, outline its empirical and methodological value and propose a framework to research the urban hack. Importantly, it is not just the technologies of hacking but the translation of computational logics to the urban that underpins the importance of the hack, as well as the critical need to set out a research agenda surrounding the hack within urban studies. Background: Artificial intelligence is useful for building objective and rapid personal identification systems. It is important to research and develop personal identification methods as social and institutional infrastructure. A critical consideration during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic is that there is no contact between the subjects and personal identification systems. The aim of this study was to organize the recent 5-year development of contactless personal identification methods that use artificial intelligence. Methods: This study used a scoping review approach to map the progression of contactless personal identification systems using artificial intelligence over the past 5 years. An electronic systematic literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and IEEE Xplore databases. Studies published between January 2016 and December 2020 were included in the study. Results: By performing an electronic literature search, 83 articles were extracted. Based on the PRISMA flow diagram, 8 eligible articles were included in this study. These eligible articles were divided based on the analysis targets as follows: (1) face and/or body, (2) eye, and (3) forearm and/or hand. Artificial intelligence, including convolutional neural networks, contributed to the progress of research on contactless personal identification methods. Conclusions: This study clarified that contactless personal identification methods using artificial intelligence have progressed and that they have used information obtained from the face and/or body, eyes, and forearm and/or hand. This article analyses the concept of "the new heroism" in Jennifer Egan's 2012 Twitter fiction "Black Box." The article compares the Twitter fiction reader to the video game player and applies some notions from video games in navigating the digital environment of Twitter. Moving on to the fictional description of heroism within the text, the article considers the process of digitisation described as it affects the human body and individual identity, creating "digital heroes." Ideas of gender and sexual trauma transform the female body into a political weapon through digitisation. Final comments connect the text's depiction of death and the afterlife to the preliminary discussion of video games, enabling the protagonist to exist forever as a digital file-or "saved game." This paper presents a systematic literature review on digital innovation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). It aims to synthesize previous research and identify knowledge gaps and future research opportunities. A systematic review of the literature was carried out by analyzing 382 articles published between 1979 and 2019. From synthesizing the extant literature, we developed a theoretical framework advocating that digital innovation in SMEs is driven by a configuration of antecedents, goes through different stages of innovation process, and leads to organizational and business process performance outcomes. Using an in-depth content analysis, we discuss the examined digital technologies, theories underpinning digital innovation in SMEs research, contextual orientations, and the content of research in this field. This article evaluates the contribution of digital literature in the struggle against the novel coronavirus contagion, focusing on Flight Rufaro Mlambo's poetry of ChiNdau and English expression. Since the outbreak of the disease in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, in November 2019, and its declaration as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 11 March 2020, various efforts to combat the disease have been implemented at global, regional, national and institutional levels. Notable in this struggle has been the use of cyberspace to complement other non-digital fronts in fighting the seemingly elusive pathogen. Written texts, audio recordings, songs, drama and verse videos are among the multiple artistic forms posted online as anti-Covid-19 weaponry. Employing the "existence-as-war" theory, Mlambo's verse is evaluated against this context in which the efforts to suppress the virus are theoretically interpreted in real war terms. The war's antagonists pit governments and all local, regional and international partners on one hand and the virus, sceptics and denialists on the other. The article seeks to answer the following question: To what extent does Zimbabwe's anti-Covid-19 digital literature serve as effective weaponry against the stubbornly mutating lethal virus? Writing is not only a productive skill required in communication but it is also a tool for critical thinking, developing knowledge, and actualizing ideas and thoughts. This study aimed to examine the constraints that students faced due to various factors like cognitive style, critical thinking from the traditional angle and Digital Literacy from the modern angle, and their joint impact on students' argumentative writing skills. The population of the study comprised the 4th semester of the 2019 academic year, in the Faculty of Language and Letters, State University of Jakarta. A sample of 55 students was selected through a random sampling technique. Each of the four variables, cognitive style, critical thinking, digital literacy and argumentative writing skills, was tested through a questionnaire and a test. The data were analyzed statistically to determine the effect partially or simultaneously using SPSS. The results revealed that the average coefficient of determination of critical thinking cognitive style variables and digital literacy on argumentative writing skills got a relative less significant percentage of 2.2%, 13.1% and 10.6% respectively. It was also found that the influence of cognitive style on critical thinking was not directly visible. These two things do not directly show a significant effect between these variables. On the other hand, digital literacy also provided the same data. Digital literacy had no significant effect on students' argumentative writing skills. Objective: To investigate whether virtual reality (VR) interventions have beneficial effects on the functional communication and language function of patients with post-stroke aphasia (PSA). Methods: We searched nine electronic literature databases and two clinical registry platforms to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-RCTs performed up to September 2020. Screening, quality assessment, and data collection were performed by two authors independently, using standard protocols. Data aggregation and risk of bias evaluation were conducted using Review Manager Version 5.4. The quality of evidence was evaluated with GRADEpro. Results: A total of five studies involving 121 participants met the inclusion criteria and were appraised. Four studies were included in the quantitative synthesis. VR reduced the severity of language impairment with borderline significance [SMD (95%CI) = 0.70[0.01, 1.39], P=0.05]. The meta-analysis showed no statistical difference in functional communication [SMD (95%CI) =0.41[−0.29, 1.12], P=0.25], word finding [SMD (95%CI) =0.42[−0.24, 1.08], P=0.21], and repetition [SMD (95%CI) =0.16[−0.62, 0.94], P=0.68] between VR group and the control group. Conclusion: This review demonstrated a borderline positive clinical effect of VR for the severity of language impairment when compared with conventional rehabilitation therapy. Background: Rotator cuff tears are a common shoulder pathology with an increasing incidence. The optimum post‐operative rehab protocol remains unclear and can consist of either conservative rehabilitation or more aggressive early range‐of‐motion. Multiple studies have assessed these treatment protocols. This meta‐analysis aims to compare post‐operative clinical outcomes following either conservative or aggressive rehabilitation post rotator cuff repair. Methods: A systematic electronic literature search was undertaken using a number of databases. Eligible studies included randomized control trials published between January 2013 and April 2019 in English with patients having had received rotator cuff repair. Post‐operative clinical outcomes considered included shoulder range‐of‐motion, overall function status (Costant–Murley score) and rates of rotator‐cuff re‐tear. Studies were evaluated for methodological quality in accordance with the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale. Summarized pooled statistics were calculated using Review Manager (v5.3) software. Results: A total of six randomized controlled trials were included. Standardized mean difference (SMD) in shoulder flexion, abduction and external rotation was not statistically significant at either 6 or 12 months post rotator cuff repair. Functional assessment suggests a slight benefit in Constant–Murley Score (SMD = 1.77; 95% CI −3.93, 7.47) in aggressive treatment groups with no significant risk increase for cuff re‐tear (RR = 1.22; 95% CI 0.60, 2.47). Conclusion: This meta‐analysis suggests there is no clear benefit of either rehabilitation protocol when considering range‐of‐motion, with a possible benefit in functional outcome at the cost of increased re‐tear risk post aggressive rehabilitation. Purpose: The objective of this research was to identify which dimensions are related to the establishment of higher levels of digital maturity. Originality/value: There is little academic scientific literature on digital maturity in Brazil. This research will offer subsidies to companies regarding the different dimensions that need to be emphasized by managers in order to achieve a full and effective digital transformation. This information will be valuable to support the digital transformation process of these companies. The study fills a gap in the academic context related to the lack of more comprehensive empirical studies based on digital maturity. Design/methodology/approach: This study evaluated the relationship of eight dimensions of capacity (strategy, leadership, market, operational, people, culture, governance, and technology) with the development of digital maturity. This survey applied an electronic questionnaire to directors of the strategic level of Brazilian retail sector companies located in different regions of Brazil. At the end, a total of 260 valid questionnaires were obtained. The responses were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The development of social media has given rise to digital social reading, an activity characterized by interactivity and social presence. Drawing upon the literature on interactivity and the Theory of Interactive Media Effects, this study developed a conceptual model to better understand the effect of interactivity on users' reading satisfaction through the mediating effect of social presence. An online survey was used to collect data, and structural equation modeling was adopted to assess the fitness of the model and investigate the hypothesized relationships. The findings basically support our hypotheses. Specifically, human-to-human interactivity was found to be affected by human-to-text interactivity, and both types of interactivity significantly predicted social presence. Social presence fully mediated the relationship between human-to-human interactivity and satisfaction, whereas it partially mediated the relationship between human-to-text interactivity and satisfaction. The study fills a gap in the literature on digital social reading, specifically on the influence of interactivity upon user experience, as well as its underlying working mechanism. Background: Community health workers (CHWs) can increase access to various primary healthcare services; however, their potential for improving surgical care is under-explored. We sought to assess the role of CHWs in the surgical cascade, defined as disease screening, linkage to operative care, and post-operative care. Given the well-described literature on CHWs and screening, we focused on the latter two steps of the surgical cascade.Methods: We conducted a scoping review of the peer-reviewed literature. We searched for studies published in any language from January 1, 2000 to May 1, 2020 using electronic literature databases including Pubmed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar. We included articles on CHW involvement in linkage to operative care and/or post-operative surgical care. Narrative and descriptive methods were used to analyze the data.Results: The initial search identified 145 articles relevant to steps in the surgical cascade. Ten studies met our inclusion criteria and were included for review. In linkage to care, CHWs helped increase surgical enrollment, provide resources for vulnerable patients, and build trust in healthcare services. Post-operatively, CHWs acted as effective monitors for surgical-site infections and provided socially isolated patients with support and linkage to additional services. The complex and wide-ranging needs of surgical patients illustrated the need to view surgical care as a continuum rather than a singular operative event.Conclusion: While the current literature is limited, CHWs were able to maneuver complex medical, cultural, and social barriers to surgical care by linking patients to counseling, education, and community resources, as well as post-operative infection prevention services. Future studies would benefit from more rigorous study designs and larger sample sizes to further elucidate the role CHWs can serve in the surgical cascade. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Even before the development of information and communication technologies, narratives not only depicted the influences of new media but also were inspired by the audiovisual language of cinema, provoking a different sensory experience for the reader. The nature and language of digital technologies expanded what was first imagined and experimented with in print. To establish continuity between the intermedial presence of the moving image in print narratives and the possibility of accomplishing such an intermedial approach in digital literature, this article examines the influence of the visual aesthetics of cinema in two of Horacio Quiroga’s short stories and a short novel by the Colombian author José Félix Fuenmayor, as well as two Latin American digital novels, Pentagonal: Incluidos tú y yo by Carlos Labbé, and Lagunas by Milton Laüfer. E-mail marketing is included in the literature as an electronic marketing tool that emerges with the development of the internet. The puspose of this study, carried out as a mapping review, is to provide an insight into the field of e-mail marketing, which is considered as a marketing tool. In the study, 57 marketing focused e-mail marketing studies in international academic journals between 1950-2019 were examined. In the selection of the studies, filtering was carried out using keywords, and studies not directly related to the field and marketing were excluded. With the studies examined, results were obtained regarding the theoretical background of e-mail marketing, the areas it focuses on, the sectors it is addressed, and the orientations of the studies. 42 of the studies examined are empirical and 15 are conceptual. It has been concluded that the most studied area is consumer behavior, the highest number of publications are included in the journal "Journal of Direct, Data and Digital Marketing Practice" and that 2016 is the year in which the most publications were made in the literatüre related to 11 studies. With the results obtained in the study, a niche field proposal is presented to academicians who want to move to a different area, and the areas not covered in the e-mail marketing literature are shown. Objective: To derive a comprehensive list of nursing-sensitive patient outcomes (NSPOs) from published research on nurse staffing levels and from expert opinion. Data Sources/Study Setting: Published literature reviews and their primary studies analyzing the link between nurse staffing levels and NSPOs and interviews with 16 experts on nursing care. Study Design: Umbrella review and expert interviews. Data Collection/Extraction Methods: We screened three electronic databases for literature reviews on the association between nurse staffing levels and NSPOs. After screening 430 potentially relevant records, we included 15 literature reviews, derived a list of 22 unique NSPOs from them, and ranked these in a systematic fashion according to the strength of evidence existing for their association with nurse staffing. We extended this list of NSPOs based on data from expert interviews. Principal Findings: Of the 22 NSPOs discussed in the 15 included literature reviews, we rated the strength of evidence for four as high, for five as moderate, and for 13 outcomes as low. Four additional NSPOs that have not been considered in literature were identified through expert interviews. Conclusions: We identified strong evidence for a significant association between nurse staffing levels and NSPOs. Our results may guide researchers in selecting NSPOs they might wish to prioritize in future studies. In particular, rarely studied NSPOs as well as NSPOs that were only identified through expert interviews but have not been considered in literature so far should be subject to further research. Background: Hip fractures (HFs) are common and pose a significant burden to both the individual and the community. Prompt operative management and aggressive rehabilitation have been shown to improve outcomes. However, there is often a delay in treatment due to lack of theatre availability and appropriate perioperative multi‐disciplinary care. This study reviews the literature and reports on outcomes of HFs treated in dedicated units with allocated theatre time and pre‐determined multi‐disciplinary perioperative pathways. It also provides comparison against outcomes data from HF registries, both domestically and internationally. Methods: An electronic literature search was performed to identify original, English language studies reporting on patient outcomes from dedicated HF units (HFUs). Studies were graded using the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery criteria. Data were extracted from the text, table and figures of the selected studies. Results: Five appropriate studies, with a total cohort of 6633 patients (4032 of whom were treated in a dedicated HFU), were identified. Patients treated in these units sustained a lower mortality rate (Risk Ratio = 0.62, p = 0.01). Conclusions: This review demonstrates that centres with dedicated HFUs result in improved 30‐day mortality. Further research may demonstrate more sustained improvements in outcomes. Due to the proximity to China and millions of international travelers yearly, Taiwan was thought to be at a great risk to be hit hard by the COVID-19. However, it so far managed to prevent the massive community transmission among its 23 million citizens. What leads to this success? What kinds of technology are used? Built upon the previous research and report, I argue that three major technology elements contribute to its success. First, the quarantine and cellphone tracking policy which blocks the transmission of imported cases. Second, the mask manufacturing management and distribution system help slow the spread of the disease. The aim of this study was to reveal the research trends in studies on educational digital storytelling in the literature and to provide an overview of the educational digital story subject area. For this purpose, research data were obtained through document analysis. The study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, it was decided on the studies to be examined by scanning the literature according to the criteria determined. In the second stage, relevant information was extracted from the studies under methodological headings and analyzed. The total number of studies were 123 that fit the specified criteria and were included in the analysis. In the findings obtained from the analysis of the studies, the research trends were presented in categories. When the main analysis results were examined, it was seen that the most frequently used research method in the studies was qualitative and the research design was case study. University level as the sample group and foreign language education as the subject area were preferred more frequently. Academic achievement, participant experiences, attitude, writing skill and motivation variables have been prominent variables in studies on digital storytelling. Background: Non‐surgical rhinoplasty using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is a cosmetic procedure that has been becoming increasingly popular among patients wanting to correct nasal deformities or nasal irregularities, in the recent years. Aim: This systematic review aims to provide quality evidence about the success of non‐surgical rhinoplasty procedures in terms of patient satisfaction and complications. Methods: A systematic electronic literature search using keywords and MESH search terms over the PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Central, Scopus, and EBSCO online databases was conducted from November 2005 to February 2021. Additionally, the reference lists of included systematic reviews were hand searched. Data collected included patient satisfaction and complications from prospective and experimental studies providing highest level of evidence. Articles were critically appraised, and MINORS scale was used to assess the risk of bias. Results: Based on the search criteria, 2896 citations were found. After removing duplicates and screening for relevance, 23 citations were finalized for full‐text review, of which 12 articles were excluded and 11 articles were included in the study. The average satisfaction of patients amongst the studies was found to be >90%. In all the studies, transient edema and erythema, post‐injection pain, and bruising were some temporary complications. Rare complications that were reported were vascular impairments and hematoma. Conclusions: Non‐surgical rhinoplasty is a good, minimally invasive alternative over conventional rhinoplasty. There is however a paucity of quality data in the form of experimental and prospective studies regarding the accuracy, effectiveness, and complications of non‐surgical rhinoplasty. To explore the influence of omentectomy on postoperative outcomes in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). Although several meta-analyses have investigated the influence of bursectomy on postoperative outcomes in patients with LAGC, no meta-analyses have explored the influence of omentectomy on postoperative outcomes in such patients. We performed a comprehensive electronic search of the literature up to December 2020 to identify studies that compared postoperative outcomes between patients with LAGC who did and did not undergo omentectomy. A meta-analysis was performed using random-effects models to calculate the risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI), and heterogeneity was analyzed using I 2 statistics. Eight retrospective studies involving a total of 2658 patients with LAGC who underwent surgery were included in this meta-analysis. Among them, 3 propensity score matching (PSM) studies demonstrated that the 5-y recurrence-free survival (RFS) rate was 72.9% (314/431) in patients with LAGC who did not undergo omentectomy, whereas it was 70.3% (303/431) in those who did. The results revealed no significant difference in 5-y RFS between groups (RR, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.74-1.13; P = 0.41; I2 = 0%). Two PSM studies also revealed no significant difference in 5-y overall survival (OS) between groups (RR, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.52-1.13; P = 0.18; I2 = 47%). The results of these meta-analyses show that omentectomy had no significant influence on 5-y OS, especially 5-y RFS, in patients with LAGC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Physical exercise is effective in protecting against age-related neurodegeneration and cognitive decline. Although there are many neuroimaging studies to evaluate the effect of physical exercise on aging brains, consistent conclusions are limited due to the wide variety of measuring techniques and small sample sizes. Objective: Identify brain regions that show exercise-induced neuroplasticity consistently across various imaging modalities and correlate regional neuroplasticity with cognitive changes in older adults. Methods: An electronic literature search for randomized controlled trials with magnetic resonance imaging measures was performed. We conducted a series of quantitative meta-analyses using activation likelihood estimation on included studies with voxel-based neuroimaging findings. Nonvoxelbased findings were summarized as a descriptive review. Results: Out of 839 publications identified from the literature search, 30 experiments including 2670 participants from 22 papers met the criteria of meta-analyses. Overall, physical exercise consistently results in structural and functional changes in the hippocampus/parahippocampusl area and a cluster within the cerebellum. Although changes of medial/superior prefrontal cortex did not pass the stringent threshold, they were associated with cognitive changes. Conclusions: This study highlights the effectiveness of physical exercise in inducing hippocampus plasticity, which may be crucially relevant for maintaining memory function in older adults. We present a tightly coupled array antenna excited by high-power photodiodes for millimeter wave transmit operation. The design includes thinned photodiode substrates for improved bandwidth performance at high frequency combined with the inherently lightweight, low-loss, and direct feeding architecture afforded by the photonic approach. Circuit and full wave simulations are conducted for array design and compared against the traditional electronic arrays in the literature. A prototype 1 × 3 photonic array is developed and characterized to validate the design which achieves a 3 dB (VSWR < 1.4) radiated power bandwidth of 4.6:1 across 13–60 GHz and maintains a 3 dB bandwidth near 4:1 across scan angles up to 30°. The fabricated array exhibits a 3 dB radiated power bandwidth of 1.8:1 across 30–55 GHz and a maximum measured effective isotropic radiated power of 19.4 dBm at 40 GHz. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective -- The aim of this paper was to collect and summarize findings regarding the factors associated with sexting experiences and their correlates, under Bronfenbrenner's socio-ecological theory. Methods -- We reviewed the literature in the field of sexting to show how numerous factors that have been found to influence sexting behaviour can be included within a social-ecological framework. Electronic literature searches were conducted between May and June 2021 in the following databases: EbscoHOST (PsycINFO, PSychArticles), ERIC, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, ScienceDirect, SCOPUS, and Web of Science. Conclusion -- This model seems to be a good framework for systematizing the results of research in this area, and can be used as a guide for future research on sexting. We encourage researchers to expand or redefine the proposed determinants of sexting in a theoretically more satisfactory way, as well as to explore it empirically. To help youth avoid the negative consequences of engaging in potentially harmful sexting behaviours, the multiple systems that surround young people should work together to provide young people with the skills necessary to make good choices about their sexual behaviours. Purpose: The paper aims to investigate food security research in Southern Europe and selected Eastern Mediterranean countries. Design/methodology/approach: An electronic literature search was conducted using Medline/PubMed and Scopus, to identify articles and reviews that were published in the English language, between January 2014 and December 2019. Thirty-three publications met the criteria for review. Findings: Depending on the population sample and the measurement tool, reported food insecurity differed significantly between and within countries. In Portugal, food insecurity ranged from 11 to 70%; in France, from 6.3 to 77.7%; and in Greece, from 17.3 to 82%. Research limitations/implications: Research investigating food insecurity issues and its true prevalence across southern European and Eastern Mediterranean countries are relatively limited. Reading literature is often contrasted to the use of digital media in terms of speed. While readers engage slowly with a book, they rush through digital environments at an ever faster pace. This article argues against a simple binary between slow/literary and fast/digital. This binary is in fact not native to the public debate about literature in the digital age but can be traced back from the digital revolution to modernist attitudes on literature, as they emerge in Viktor Shklovsky and Walter Benjamin. Drawing on results about reading speed in reading science and on current narrative theory, this article devises an alternative argument for literary reading as a process that unfolds over multiple time scales linked to different layers of meaning making. Reading literature, from this perspective, is not exclusively slow but, rather, works through a combination of both fast and slow processes. The article develops its argument through the example of Alexander Pushkin's classic novella "The Queen of Spades" and then applies this new theoretical account of multispeed literary reading to two novels engaging explicitly with the digital revolution. Digital literature has undoubtedly brought about many changes to the literary system and has re-established our understanding of many concepts related therein, including how we conceptualize the reader, the author, and the text. Therefore, it is only natural for a change to also be brought about in our conceptualization of the critic who addresses this literature, and, consequently, the concept of literary criticism itself. Based on the above, this study aims to shed light on the new perspectives presented by digital literature in the field of criticism by exploring the critical process and suggesting new terminologies that can describe this criticism. This study is based on a previous study written by myself and my colleague, which was published in a book entitled Al-tafāʿil al-fannī al-adabī fī al-shiʿir al-raqamī: qaṣīdah ' shajar al-Būghāz ' namūdajan (Artistic Literary Interaction in Digital Poetry : The Būghāz Tree, 2015). That said, the present study differs from the previous study in that the previous study aimed to uncover the digital aesthetics of the poem and therefore focuses on the end result of the criticism, while the present work aims to uncover digital criticism perspectives. Consequently, the present study focuses on the critical process itself, which shall be discussed below.
