The article discusses how U.S. war efforts in Iraq have created a haven in that country for al-Qaeda. Before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, al-Qaeda had almost no presence in the country, but since the destabilization brought on by the Iraq War, al-Qaeda has more profoundly established itself within Iraq's borders. Discussed is how Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had joined forces with al-Qaeda to foster terrorism in Iraq.
