The article discusses some of the injurious effects of pesticides on different types of organisms and offers suggestions on how to use them safely so that their benefits may outweigh their negative effects in the U.S. It is mentioned that pesticides may be beneficial for crop production, however, they can also be detrimental to the health of plants, animals, and human beings. Examination of the literature indicates that injurious effects of pesticides are confined mainly to a limited number of compounds. Misuse of pesticides may lead to human illness or death, that is why it is advised that one must consider their safety under actual, as well as ideal, conditions of use.
