204. Ortaokul Sosyal Bilgiler Programı ile Okul, Meslek ve Sivil Yaşam (C3) Çerçeve Programında Yer Alan Kazanımların Karşılaştırılması.

- Abstract
Social Studies began to be taught in educational institutions as a course in the US in the 19th century. The most important reason why this lesson took its place in the curriculum was to prevent the social chaos that occurred in those years and to unite the whole nation under a common US citizen identity. Therefore, it is an inevitable situation for Social Sciences course to renew and update itself which is aimed at creating a common citizen identity according to changing conditions of the age. One of the organizations that have carried out important studies on the subject is the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), which was established in the 1990s. One of the most important studies that has been recently led by this council, which is the the pioneer of the "New Social Information" movement, is the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework. This study seeks to compare the achievements of the disciplines of Citizenship, Economy, Geography and History which are the basis of C3 Frame and those of learning areas named as Groups, Institutions and Social Organizations; Power, Management and Society; Production, Distribution and Consumption; People, Places and Circles; Cultural and heritage included in the 5th, 6th and 7th Grade Social Studies program. In the research, it was benefited from document analysis method which is one of the qualitative data collection methods. The data obtained from the study were analyzed according to the stages of the document analysis method. The result of the research was evaluated generally. It seen that the C3 Framework program has an approach that is based solely on the disciplines of Citizenship, Economy, History and Geography compared to the 5, 6 and 7th grade Social Studies Curriculum, the C3 Framework program described these disciplines with the title of "Disciplinary Concepts and Tools " instead of the learning field, the Geography discipline is explained with the discipline concept names of Geographic Representations: Spatial Views of the World; Human-Environment Interaction: Place, Regions, and Culture; Human Population: Spatial Patterns and Movements; Global Interconnections: Changing Spatial Patterns, the Civic discipline is explained with the discipline concept names of the Civic and Political Institutions; Participation and Deliberation: Applying Civic Virtues and Democratic Principles; Processes, Rules and Laws, the Economy discipline is explained with the discipline concept names of the Economic Decision Making; Exchange and Markets; The National Economy; The Global Economy. In addition, it has been concluded that the achievements in the C3 Framework are more comprehensive, actual and practical compared to the achievements in the Secondary School Social Studies Curriculum. The aim of this study is to evaluate the status of the teaching of grammar in secondary school according to the opinions of teachers. The research was conducted with a qualitative research approach and the interview method was used as a data collection tool. Seven questions were asked to Turkish teachers in the interview form. In the analysis of the obtained data, content analysis technique was used from qualitative data analysis techniques. Based on the responses of the teachers with the interview, the findings of the status of the teaching of grammar according to the opinions of the teachers in secondary school were tried to be reached and the results were tried to be obtained. The study was conducted on a working group consisting of 21 Turkish teachers working in the Ministry of National Education. The teachers in the study group were selected randomly from the Turkish teachers working in the Ministry of National Education. According to the results obtained from the findings, in the teaching of grammar, there are some problems arising both from the teachers and from the Turkish Course Curriculum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this research is to examine the use of punctuation marks in the fifth grade of middle school students. The research is of the survey type of quantitative research methods. The population of the study consists of the fifth-grade students in the middle school in the city center of Yozgat in the academic year 2018-2019. A simple random cluster sampling method was used in the selection of the sample. Five secondary schools in Yozgat city center were identified by cluster sampling method. A total of 309 students studying in these five secondary schools form the sample. Data collection tool "Punctuation Marks Detection Form" was used. Data were collected in October 2018. SPSS 21 program was used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the research, the correct use of punctuation marks was determined as 54.6%. The correct use rate of the fifth grade students at point mark is 83%, the correct use of commas is 74%, the correct use of the slash is 62%, the correct rate of using the quotation marks is 4%, the correct use of the semicolon is 3%, and the correct use of the three points is 0%. - Abstract
Art education is of great importance because of its contribution to the individual's social, physical and spiritual development, and within the general education system, the place where the child can express his or her creativity most comfortably is the field of art education. Because of students' enthusiastic and restless mental structure and the openness of their emotional world to outside, the first years of education which is the period when the sensors are most open is vital. However, unfortunately other than private schools, the earliest period when students can meet visual arts teachers is at the age of 11 (5th grade). Visual arts education contributes greatly to the ability of students to synthesize the knowledge they have learned from their own experiences with the subjects they have learned in their visual arts classes, to improve their observation skills and manual dexterity, and to accelerate their practical intelligence. In the present study, the data were obtained by interviewing a total of 16 visual arts teachers who were working in every middle school (15 middle schools) in the city center of Niğde during the academic year 2018-2019. The teachers were administered interview forms consisting of five questions. The obtained data were evaluated according to the descriptive analysis technique, one of the qualitative research techniques. The study results revealed that the visual arts teachers encounter problems such as inadequate course hours, environments without sufficient equipment, crowded classes that make the lessons difficult to teach, parents who do not give importance to the class, students who do not or cannot supply class materials and curriculum that does not go accordingly. The study is important in terms of determining the common problems faced by visual arts teachers. It is believed that with the help of the study data obtained, the public belief about the visual arts classes which have been gradually discredited by some parents and students can be improved, the classes can be reorganized by pointing to the teachers' education conditions, and the recommended solutions for the problems teachers encounter can contribute to the field. 209. The Development of Mathematical Literacy Self-Efficacy Scale for Middle School: A Reliability And Validity Study.

- Abstract
The purpose of this research is to conduct validity and reliability studies within the context of the development of the Mathematical Literacy Self-Efficacy Scale for middle school students. In the scope of the study, explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient reliability calculations were made to the data obtained from 1124 students who were studying in the 7th grade of the public schools of central districts in Adana province. In order to determine the discrimination power, Independent groups t test was applied between group scores. As a result of the analyzes made, it is seen that the scale consists of 30 items with 4 subcomponents and has a .925 Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient and is at a distinctive level. The scale explains 48.34% of the total variance. In addition, the confirmatory factor analysis carried out in order to test the adequacy of the obtained structure shows that the resulting model is acceptable. The results have shown that the Middle School Mathematical Literacy Self-efficacy Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilk ve ortaokullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin algılarına göre okulun bürokratikleşme düzeyi ile öğretmen profesyonelliği üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla, öğretmenlerin okullarının bürokratikleşme düzeyi ve profesyonelliklerine ilişkin algı düzeylerine; öğretmenlerin algılarının kıdem, görev, sendika üyeliği değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterip göstermediğine; bürokratikleşme düzeyinin öğretmen profesyonelliğini ve alt boyutlarını etkileyip etkilemediğine bakılmıştır. Araştırma, tarama modeli benimsenerek gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Antalya ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan ilk ve ortaokullarında görev yapan 515 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri, “Okulların Bürokratik Özellikleri Ölçeği” ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretmen Profesyonelliği Ölçeği” aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğretmenlerin çalıştıkları okulların bürokratikleşme düzeyine ve profesyonelliklerine ilişkin algıları “yüksek” düzeydedir. Öğretmen algılarına göre okullarının bürokratikleşme düzeyi, profesyonelliğinin tüm alt boyutlarını anlamlı şekilde yordamaktadır.

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokullarda görev yapan DKAB öğretmenlerinin, AÖD tekniklerinikullanma düzeylerini belirlemek, uygulamada karşılaşılan sorunları tespit etmek ve bu sorunlarayönelik çözüm önerilerinde bulunmaktır.Araştırmanın evrenini 2014–2015 eğitim öğretim yılında Sivas il merkezine bağlı ortaokullardagörev yapan 147 Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Evreni oluşturan 147öğretmenin tümüne ulaşılması hedeflenmiş, ancak 120’sine ulaşılabilmiştir. Buna göre hedef kitleyeulaşma oranı % 81,63’tür. Ayrıca evren içerisinden rastgele seçilen 10 öğretmenle de görüşme yapılmıştır.Öğretmenlere uygulanan anketten hem nicel hem de nitel veriler elde edilmiştir. Nicel verilerinanalizinde, yüzde ve frekans kullanılarak tablolar hazırlanmış, tabloların altında ise açıklamalaryapılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde ise betimsel analiz teknikleri kullanılmıştır.Araştırma sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde performans, proje, gözlem ve kavram haritası tekniklerininkullanılma düzeylerinin diğer tekniklere göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin cinsiyet,yaş ve mezun olunan program özelliklerinin AÖD tekniklerini kullanma düzeylerini önemli ölçüdeetkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Democracy as a political system aims to improve individuals’ welfare and is considered as a desirable regime for that reason. Even if it is defined in different ways pointing out various aspects based on time and cultural background of societies, it has some common values shared by every person like equality, respecting life, justice, freedom, honesty, the search for goodness, cooperation, self-esteem, tolerance, sensibility, responsibility, acceptance of difference and so forth. This study aimed to determine the devotion level of Turkish 8th grade students to democratic values. The sample of the study comprised of 448 8th graders attending middle schools located in Yozgat. In order to collect the necessary data Democratic Values Scale developed by İlgan et al. (2013) was used. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that Turkish 8th grade students adopted democratic values at a high level.

Bu amaç bağlamında, araştırmanın modeli olarak tarama modeli tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2022-2023 eğitim ve öğretim yılında MEB'e bağlı ortaokulların 5 ve 6. sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturur iken; örneklem grubunu ise evren için tesadüfi olarak seçilen ve araştırmaya katılmak için gönüllü olan 500 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verilerinin toplanmasında, Okuduğunu Anlama ve Çözümleme Ölçeği ile Okuma Kaygısı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler, SPSS-25 istatistik programında analiz edilmiş olup; bu analizlerde frekans ve yüzde analizi, normallik analizleri, bağımsız gruplar t testi, tek yönlü anova analizi ve pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda, ortaokul öğrencilerinin hem okuduklarını anlama düzeylerinin hem de okuma kaygılarının cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne eğitim durumu, ekonomik düzey, kitap okumaya ayrılan günlük ortalama süre, aylık okunan kitap sayısı, kitaplık sahibi olma durumu, annenin evde kitap okuma durumu ve daha önce kütüphaneye gitme durumuna göre anlamlı fark gösterdiği sonucu elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, ortaokul öğrencilerinin okuduklarını anlama düzeyleri ile okuma kaygıları arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır., This research was conducted to determine the relationship between secondary school students' level of reading comprehension and reading anxiety. In the context of this purpose, scanning model was preferred as the model of the research. While the sample of the research consists of students studying at the 5th and 6th grades of secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2022-2023 academic year; The sample group consists of 500 students who were randomly selected for the population and volunteered to participate in the research. The Reading Comprehension and Analysis Scale and the Reading Anxiety Scale were used to collect the data of the study. The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS-25 statistical program; frequency and percentage analysis, normality analysis, independent groups t test, one-way anova analysis and pearson correlation analysis were used in these analyses. At the end of the research, it was determined that both the reading comprehension levels and reading anxiety levels of secondary school students were determined by gender, grade level, mother's education status, economic level, average daily time allocated to reading, number of books read monthly, having a library, mother's reading status at home and their previous experiences. It was concluded that there was a significant difference according to the status of going to the library. In addition, it was concluded that there is a negative significant relationship between the reading comprehension levels of secondary school students and their reading anxiety.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, resmi ortaokullarda görev yapmakta olan öğretmenlerin yengeç sepeti sendromuna ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Bu araştırmada, nicel ve nitel yöntemlerin birlikte kullanıldığı karma araştırma yönteminden açıklayıcı ardışık desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel kısmının örneklemi, basit seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilmiş olup 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul ilinin Anadolu Yakası’nda yer alan Ataşehir ve Ümraniye ilçelerindeki resmi ortaokullarda görev yapmakta olan ve araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan 399 öğretmenden oluşmuştur. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve “Okullarda Yengeç Sepeti Ölçeği” kullanılmış ve veriler araştırmacı tarafından yüz yüze biçimde toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın örnekleminde yer alan öğretmenlerin “Okullarda Yengeç Sepeti Ölçeği”nin geneline, bireysel etmenler ve örgütsel etmenler alt boyutlarına ilişkin algı düzeylerine yönelik elde edilen nicel veriler, betimsel istatistikler (frekans, ortalama ve standart sapma), verilerin normalliği sağlama durumuna göre parametrik ve parametrik olmayan testler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda, olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi yöntemi kullanılarak oluşturulan çalışma grubunu, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul ilinin Anadolu Yakası’nda yer alan Ataşehir ve Ümraniye ilçelerindeki resmi ortaokullarda görev yapan, araştırmanın nicel boyutunda örnekleme dahil edilmiş ve araştırmanın nitel boyutuna da katılmaya gönüllü olan 10 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla yüz yüze görüşmelerle toplanmış ve elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda elde edilen bulgulara göre ortaokul öğretmenlerinin yengeç sepeti sendromuna ilişkin algı düzeylerinin orta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte ortaokul öğretmenlerinin yengeç sepeti sendromuna ilişkin algı düzeylerinin yaş, cinsiyet, medeni durum, mesleki kıdem, görev yapmakta olduğu kurumdaki çalışma süresi değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği; ancak eğitim durumu ve branş değişkenlerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmanın nicel boyutunda elde edilen bulgulara göre katılımcı öğretmenler; okullarında bireysel farklılıklara saygı duymayan öğretmenlerin olduğunu, bir başarı elde ettiklerinde diğer öğretmenler tarafından kıskanıldıklarını, haklarında dedikodunun yapıldığını, diğer öğretmenlerin kendilerini onlarla kıyasladığını ve rekabet ettiğini, okul yöneticisi tarafından takdir edilmelerinden diğer öğretmenlerin hoşlanmadığını en yüksek düzeyde ifade etmişlerdir. Araştırmanın nitel bulgularında ise katılımcı öğretmenler; yengeç zihniyetindeki öğretmenlerin çalışkan olmayan, diğerlerinin çalışmasını istemeyen, bencil, saygısız, hırslı, diğer bireyleri kalıplara sokma çabasında olan kişiler olduklarına dikkat çekmişlerdir. Bununla birlikte, katılımcı öğretmenler, yengeç sepeti sendromunda tarafların bu olgu karşısındaki davranışlarını ve bu olgunun bireysel ve örgütsel açıdan olası etkilerinden bahsetmişlerdir. Bu sonuçlara göre araştırmanın nicel bulguları ile nitel bulgularının; okullarda bireysel açıdan yengeç sepeti sendromunun görülmesine neden olabilecek etkenler açısından birbirini desteklediği; yengeç sepeti sendromunun görüldüğü okullardaki örgütsel özellikler açısından ise birbiriyle örtüşmediği söylenebilir. The aim of this study was to examine the opinions of teachers working in public secondary schools about the “crabs in a bucket” phenomenon. This study used an explanatory sequential design, which is a mixed research method in which quantitative and qualitative methods are used together. The sample of the quantitative part of the research was selected using a simple random sampling method and consisted of 399 teachers who volunteered to participate in the research and were working in public secondary schools in Ataşehir and Ümraniye districts on the Anatolian side of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year. The Personal Information Form and the “Crabs in a bucket at schools Scale” were used as data collection tools in the quantitative dimension of the study, and the data were collected face-to-face by the researcher. Quantitative data, descriptive statistics (frequency, mean and standard deviation), parametric and non-parametric according to the normality of the data, obtained for the perception levels of the teachers in the sample of the study regarding the \"Crabs in a bucket at schools Scale\" in general, individual factors and organizational factors sub-dimensions. analyzed using tests. In the qualitative dimension of the research, the phenomenology design was used. The study group, which was formed by using the maximum diversity sampling method of the research, consisted of 10 teachers working in public secondary schools in Ataşehir and Ümraniye districts on the Anatolian side of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year, who were included in the sampling in the quantitative dimension of the research and volunteered to participate in the qualitative dimension of the research. has created. In the qualitative aspect of the research, the data were collected through face-to-face interviews through a semi-structured interview form and the obtained data were analyzed using the content analysis method. According to the results obtained in the quantitative dimension of the study, it can be determined that the middle school teachers' cognitive level of the crab in the bucket is moderate. On the other hand, the perception levels of secondary school teachers regarding the crabs in a bucket did not show a statistically significant difference according to the variables of age, gender, marital status, professional seniority, and working time in the school. However it was concluded that there was a statistically significant difference according to education status and branch variables. In addition, according to the findings obtained in the quantitative dimension of the research the participants stated that; there are teachers in their schools who do not respect individual differences, that they are envied by other teachers when they achieve success, that they are gossiped about, that other teachers compare and compete with them, and that other teachers do not like being appreciated by the school administrator. Among the qualitative results of the study, teachers were involved; they noted that teachers with a crab mindset do not work hard, do not want others to work, are selfish, disrespectful, ambitious, and try to stereotype others. However, the participating teachers talked about the behavior of the parties in the “crabs in a bucket” against this phenomenon, and the possible effects of this phenomenon in terms of individual and organizational aspects. According to these results, the quantitative and qualitative findings of the research; that they support each other in terms of factors that may cause individual “crabs in a bucket”; on the other hand, it can be said that they do not overlap with each other in terms of organizational characteristics in schools where the “crabs in a bucket” was seen.

Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Okuma; bilgilenmeyi, gelişmeyi ve eğlenmeyi sağlayan bir etkinliktir. Okuma, bireyin kişiliğini geliştirir, düşünme dağarcığını zenginleştirir. Okuma; beynin görme, algılama, seslendirme, anlama, yapılandırma gibi işlevlerinden oluşur. Bu çalışmada ortaokul öğrencileri tarafından en çok okunan çocuk kitaplarının belirlenmesi ve incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çocukların edebiyat ihtiyacına yanıt veren eserler belirlenip çocukların yönelimleri fark edilmelidir. Öğrencilerin okuması kadar ne okudukları, neleri beğendikleri ve niye beğendikleri de önemlidir. Literatüre bakıldığında genelde öğrencilerin okuma alışkanlıklarıyla ilgili çalışmalar yapıldığı ya da belli bir yazarın belli bazı çocuk edebiyatı eserleri üzerine çalışmalar yapıldığı görülmektedir. Yapılacak çalışmanın konusunda daha önce bir çalışma yapılmamış olması araştırmanın önemli yönlerinden biridir. Bu araştırmada, olay ve olguları sosyal özelliği olan insana göre ele alan nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin en çok okuduğu ve beğendiği kitapları belirlenmeye yönelik yapılan bu çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden olan durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Konya'dan seçilen Şehit Mustafa Çuhadar Ortaokulu, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Ortaokulu ve Cansu Şimşek Ortaokulunun 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencileri ile Erzincan'dan seçilen Cumhuriyet Ortaokulu, Şehit Astsubay Tamer Meriç Ortaokulu ve Türk Telekom Binali Yıldırım Ortaokulunun 5, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. Okulların belirlenmesinde kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu; 5. sınıf için 61 kız, 41 erkek toplam 102 öğrenci; 6. sınıf için 69 kız, 40 erkek toplam 109 öğrenci; 7. sınıf için 56 kız, 46 erkek toplam 102 öğrenci; 8. sınıf için 51 kız, 36 erkek toplam 87 öğrenci olmak üzere 400 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Çalışma 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılı ile sınırlı kalmıştır. Son 1 yıl içinde okunan ve beğenilen kitapların adı istenmiştir. Çalışmada verilerin toplanmasında, Öğrencilerin Okuduğu Çocuk Kitaplarının Belirlenmesine Yönelik Öğrenci İle Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formu hazırlandıktan sonra alan uzmanlarının görüşlerine sunulmuş ve dönütlerden sonra forma son şekli verilmiştir. Görüşmelerde öğrencilerin ilave olarak belirtecekleri görüşleri de değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Öğrencilerin kitapların sadece adını ya da yazarını hatırlamaları durumunda kitapla ilgili diğer verilere araştırmacı tarafından ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, araştırma amacı ve alt problemler doğrultusunda frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) değerleri kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir; bulgular tablolar hâlinde sunularak yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemleri için betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin en beğendiği kitap Antoine de Saint-Exupéry'nin yazığı Küçük Prens'tir. Kitabın türü, ''fantastik roman''dır. Reading develops the personality of the individual and enriches person's thinking repertoire. Read; consists of functions of the brain such as seeing, perceiving, vocalizing, understanding and structuring. In this study, it is aimed to determine and examine the most read children's books by secondary school students. We should identify the works that meet the literary needs of children and notice the orientations of the children. This is one of the importance of research. When we look at the literature, it is seen that there are studies on the reading habits of students in general or studies on certain children's literature works by a certain author. Another important aspect of the study is that there has been no previous study on the subject of the study. In this research, a qualitative research model that deals with events and phenomena according to people with social characteristics was used. In this study, which was conducted to determine the books that secondary school students read and liked the most, the case study design, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The study group of this study consisted of the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students of Şehit Mustafa Çuhadar Secondary School, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Secondary School and Cansu Şimşek Secondary School selected from Konya in the 2021-2022 academic year, and Cumhuriyet Secondary School, Martyr Petty Officer Tamer Meriç selected from Erzincan, Middle School and Türk Telekom Binali Yıldırım Secondary School 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. If the students remember only the name or the author of the books, other data about the book were obtained by the researcher. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using frequency (f) and percentage (%) values in line with the research purpose and sub-problems; the findings were presented in tables and interpreted. Descriptive analysis was used for the sub-problems of the research. The 5th grade students' favorite book is The Little Prince, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The genre of the book is "fantasy novel". 102 5th grade students participated in this study. 13.26% of the students liked this book. The favorite book of 6th grade students is The Little Prince, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The genre of the book is "fantasy novel". 109 6th grade students participated in this study. 20.71% of the students liked this book. İlkokul ve ortaokullarda eğitim-öğretim hayatını sürdüren öğrencilerin velilerine yönelik yapılan bu çalışma, velilerin bu okullardan ne tür beklentiler içerisinde olduğunu ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Eğitimin diğer sosyal kurumlarla - ekonomi, siyaset, kültür- olan girift etkileşimi ve eğitimin bu kurumlar açısından yaşamsal değere sahip olduğu gerçeği, eğitim sistemleri üzerine araştırma yapmayı gerekli kılmaktadır. Eğitim sistemimiz içinde yer alan İlk ve ortaokullar, tarihsel süreçte devlet kurumunun beklentileri çerçevesinde şekillenmiş ve halkın bu okullardan beklentileri dikkat dışı tutulmuştur. Araştırmanın evreni, 2009 – 2010 eğitim ve öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde Osmaniye İli Merkez ilçede bulunan 677 veliden oluşmaktadır. Bulgular, velilerin ilk ve ortaokullardan beklentilerinin, çocuğunun sosyal ve iyi bir iletişim kurma becerisine sahip, özgüven ve sorumluluk sahibi, karakterli ve kendini gerçekleştiren birey olarak yetişmesi, kaliteli eğitim veren bir ortaöğretim kurumuna yerleşmesi ve iyi bir meslek sahibi olması ekseninde yoğunlaştığını göstermektedir.

Bu araştırmanın amacı; Ortaokul 5-6-7-8. sınıflar beden eğitimi ve spor dersi öğretim programının temel ilkelerine ilişkin beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla, öğretim programında yer alan on dokuz temel ilkeyi içeren veri toplama aracı oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma grubunu 2014–2015 eğitim öğretim yılında Sakarya ili merkez ilçeleri resmi ortaokullarında görev yapan 87 beden eğitimi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler IBM SPSS 22.0 istatistik paket programı ile çözümlenmiş, verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistik testlerinin yanı sıra parametrik olmayan Kruskal Wallis-H ve Mann-Whitney U testleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretmenlerin ortaokul beden eğitimi dersi öğretim programında belirlenen temel ilkelerine olumlu yaklaştıkları, öğretmenlerin görüşleri arasında sadece hizmet yılı ve eğitim durumu değişkenlerinde anlamlı farklılaşma olduğu görülmüştür.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ortaokulda Psikolojik Dayanıklılık Ölçeğinin Türkçe geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Ortaokulda Psikolojik Dayanıklılık Ölçeği, yedili likert, 20 madde ve yedi alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Google form üzerinden oluşturulan form maddeleri gerekli izinler alındıktan sonra ortaokul kademesinde eğitim-öğretime devam etmekte olan 332 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin Türk kültürüne uyarlama sürecinin başında, öncelikle sorumlu yazardan elektronik posta yoluyla izin alınmıştır. İznin ardından orijinal ölçek maddeleri beş bağımsız uzman tarafından İngilizceden Türkçeye çevrilmiş ve yüksek lisans düzeyindeki öğrencilerin panel çalışması ile çeviri işlemi devam ettirilmiştir. Daha sonra, Türkçe form iki uzman tarafından İngilizceye geri çevrilmiş ve maddelerin dil açısından anlaşılabilirliğini test etmek amacıyla 30 kişilik bir öğrenci grubuna pilot uygulama yapılmıştır. Pilot uygulamadaki geribildirimler ve bir dil uzmanının desteğiyle Türkçe formun son hali oluşturulmuştur. Ölçüt geçerliliği için Arslan (2015) tarafından Türkçe geçerlilik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan Çocuk ve Genç Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği kullanılmış ve her iki ölçekten elde edilen puanlar arasındaki korelasyon .55 olarak bulunmuştur. Güvenirliğe ilişkin hesaplanan madde toplam korelasyon katsayıları .36 ile .92 arasında değişirken; ölçeğin tümü için Cronbach Alfa katsayısı (iç tutarlık katsayısı) .78 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin Türkçe formunun yapı geçerliğini test etmek için yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizinde uyum iyiliği testlerine (Goodness-of Fit Indices) ilişkin değerler χ2 =306.400 sd = 149 χ2/sd = 2.05 ; RMSEA değeri ,05 bulunmuş; model-veri uyumu göstergelerinden GFI, AGFI, NFI ve CFI sırasıyla .91, .88, .85 ve .91 değerlerini almıştır. Ölçeğin elde edilen Türkçe formuna ilişkin uyum ve hata indeksleri incelendiğinde ölçeğin yapı geçerliği sağlanmış ve elde edilen sonuçların modeli doğruladığı görülmüştür. The aim of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the factor structure of “Resilience at Secondary School Scale” developed for measuring the resilience levels of the individuals at secondary school students. Resilience at Secondary School Scale consists of seven likert type, 20 items and seven sub-dimensions. After the necessary permissions were obtained the form items created on the Google form were applied to 332 students who were continuing their education at the secondary school level. At the beginning of the adaptation process of the scale to Turkish culture, first of all, the corresponding author was contacted via e-mail and permission was obtained. After permission, the original scale items were translated from English to Turkish by five independent experts and the translation process continued with the panel study of the graduate students. Afterwards, the Turkish form was translated back into English by two experts and a pilot study was conducted with a group of 30 students in order to test the intelligibility of the items in terms of language. The final version of the Turkish form was created with the feedback from the pilot application and the support of a language expert. For criterion validity, the Child and Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale, whose Turkish validity and reliability study was conducted, was used and the correlation between the scores obtained from both scales was found to be .34. The item total correlation coefficients as regards the reliability of The Resilience at Secondary School Scale changed between .36 and .92, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient (internal consistency coefficient) for the whole scale was found to be .78. The values regarding the Goodness-of Fit Indices in the confirmatory factor analyses carried out for construct validity were found to be χ2 = 306.400 sd = 149 χ2/sd = 2,05; RMSEA value was found to be .05; of the indicators of model data fit, GFI, AGFI, NFI and CFI were taken respectively the values of .91, .88, .85 and .91. The validity and reliability of Resilience at Secondary School Scale for Turkey sample confirmed the structural model.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul yedinci sınıf öğrenci velilerinin bilimsel alan gezilerine yönelik görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan görüşme tekniğinin kullanıldığı araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılı güz döneminde Kilis ili merkez ilçede öğrenim gören 104 yedinci sınıf öğrencisinin velileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri Maxqda 12 programı aracılığıyla içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda velilerin tamamının eğitim öğretim amaçlı bilimsel alan gezilerinin gerekli olduğuna inandığı, neredeyse tamamının (%97.1) çocuğunu eğitim öğretim amaçlı gerçekleştirilen bilimsel alan gezilerine göndermek istedikleri, önemli bir çoğunluğunun (%85.6) ise günübirlik gezileri tercih ettikleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmaya katılan velilerin yarısından fazlası (%65.4) velilerin de bilimsel alan gezisi gerçekleştirebileceğine ilişkin görüş bildirmiştir. Bunun yanında araştırma kapsamında veliler, eğitim öğretim sürecinde yeteri kadar bilimsel alan gezilerinin yapılmadığına inandıklarını belirtmişler ve bilimsel alan gezileri önündeki engellerin kaldırılmasına yönelik çeşitli çözüm önerilerinde bulunmuşlardır.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, rehberli araştırma -sorgulama yaklaşımına göre göre fen öğretiminin ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarı ve kavramsal anlama düzeylerine etkisini belirlemektir. Çalışma grubunu, 2020-20121 eğitim-öğretim yılında Şanlıurfa ili Eyyübiye ilçesine bağlı bir köy ortaokulunda öğrenim gören 20' si deney ve 20'si kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 40 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Ses ve Özellikleri Ünitesi Akademik Başarı Testi ile Ses ve ÖzellikleriÜnitesi Kavramsal Anlama Testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler Wilcoxon İşaaretli Sıralar Testi ve Mann Whitney U-testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz bulgularına bakıldığında deney ve kontrol gruplarında bulunan ortaokul 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin ses ve özellikleri ünitesi ile ilgili başarı testi ve kavramsal anlama testi son test puanları arasında deney grubu lehine ististiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Bu bulgu ses ve özellikleri ünitesinin rehberli araştırma- sorgulama yaklaşımına göre öğretiminin deney grubunda bulunan 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarı ve kavramsal anlama düzeylerini pozitif yönde artırdığını ve etkili bir yaklaşım olduğunu göstermektedir. Çalışmada dikkat çeken bir bulgu tespit edilmiştir. İki aşamalı olan kavramsal anlama testinin çoktan seçmeli bölümünü doğru yanıtlayan öğrencilerin testin ikinci aşamasında bulunan ve açıklama gerektiren sorularda eksiklikleri olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma yapılan okulun bir köy okulu olması ve çalışmanın Covid-19 pandemi sürecine denk gelmesi böyle bir sonucun doğmasında etkili olmuş olabilir., This study aims to determine the effect of science teaching on the academic achievement and conceptual understanding of 6-grade secondary school students’ level according to the guided inquiry teaching model. The study group consisted of 40 students studying in a village secondary school in the Eyyübiye district of Şanlıurfa in the 2020-2021 academic year. There were 20 students in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. In the study, the Academic Achievement Test of Sound and Characteristics unit and Conceptual Comprehension Test of Sound and Characteristics Unit were used as data collection tools, and these tools were developed by the researcher. In the study, a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group was used. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann Whitney U-test. When the analysis findings were examined, it was seen that there was a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the achievement test and conceptual understanding test post-test scores of the 6th-grade students in the experimental and control groups regarding the sound and characteristics unit. This finding shows that teaching the sound and its properties unit according to the guided inquiry approach positively increases the academic achievement and conceptual understanding levels of the 6th-grade students in the experimental group, and it is an effective approach. A remarkable finding was determined in the study. It was observed that the students who answered the multiple-choice part of the two-stage conceptual understanding test correctly had deficiencies in the questions in the second stage of the test that required explanation. The fact that the school where the study was conducted was a village school and that the study coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic process may have been effective in the emergence of such a result.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between cyber bullying, cyber victimization and human values among secondary school students and in terms of demographic characteristics. The study was carried out with 309 students (191 students, 61.8%) and 118 boys (38.2%) studying in 6th, 7th and 8th grades of 5 official secondary schools in Bagcilar district of Istanbul. Students' ages range from 12 to 15 years. In our study, the relational screening model which examines the relationships and connections is used. The datas of research were gotten from "Cyberbullying and Victimization Scale", "Human Values Scale" and "Demographic Information Form". The Statistical analysis of data received was made on 15 packages. As a result of the research, there was a statistically significant, positive and moderate correlation between cyber bullying status and cyber victimization. There were statistically significant, negative and moderate relationships between the cyber bullying status of the students and the human values of responsibility, peacefulness, respect and honesty. There were statistically significant, negative and weak relations between cyber bullying status and human values such as friendship / friendship and tolerance. In addition, the findings of the study showed that cyberbullying, cyber victimization and human values scores differed significantly in terms of demographic variables. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to identify the relationship between secondary school teachers' organizational support perceptions and their organizational cynicism attitudes. The population of this relational survey included 1,602 teachers who were working at the 55 secondary schools located in central Elazig during the 2016-2017 school year. A total of 389 teachers working at 13 randomly selected schools from among these were distributed the data collection tool. However, tools from only 319 teachers were ultimately analyzed. The results showed that secondary school teachers agreed with the organizational support and justice and organizational ownership sub dimensions and the entire scale, while they partially agreed with the personal and professional development sub dimension. The organizational support perceptions of teachers who did not consider leaving their schools were higher than those who were considering or partly considering leaving. Teachers' organizational cynicism levels manifested at the highest level in the behavioral domain, followed by the cognitive and affective domains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Undesirable student behaviours are one of the main factors that prevent effective classroom management and teachers' works. These behaviours prevent both student learning and formation and maintenance of effective learning-teaching environment by teacher. The aim of this research is to identify frequency of undesirable student behaviours according to teacher's views. Research is in style of the descriptive scanning model. Population of the research is constituted by 1450 teachers from 56 schools in Batman in 2012-2013 academic year. The sample of the research is constituted by 590 teachers from 34 schools. The scale used in this research is developed by researcher. The frequency of undesirable student behaviours in middle schools is "sometimes" for "interpersonal relations" and "classroom behaviours", and "rarely" for "harming behaviour". Results show significant difference in teachers' views depending on gender, grade and school but there is no significant difference depending on branch. In order to decrease frequency of undesirable student behaviours, experts should train school administration, teachers, students and parents, besides there should be more opportunities for social, sport and extracurricular activities. One of the biggest problems of the educators who carry games to classrooms is not being able to evaluate games in the viewpoints of children. The issue of whether children see games as a tool or as a purpose may contribute to the use of games in educational environments. Is a game an activity or a means for socializing for a child? Is it an individual activity or a group activity? Is it a free time activity or does that mean being active? The answers to these questions that will be given by children will enable us to explain games in a detailed manner in hypothetical terms and organize more planned activities for using games in educational environments. On this context, the purpose of the present study is to examine the perceptions of primary school 4th grade and secondary school 5th-6th grade children towards their games. The study was conducted with 231 students studying at primary and secondary schools located in the city center of Erzincan. During the course of the study, the "Children's Perceptions of Their Play Scale (CPTP)" was employed. The scale was developed by Barnett (2013) and was adopted into Turkish by the authors of the study. It may be claimed that games are considered as being social and dealing with something by the students studying at the 4th grades of primary schools and 5th-6th grades of secondary schools, who participated in the study. Among the reasons stated by the students for playing games "To Entertain" was in the first place; and "I play games to learn" ranked the last. The meaning of a game activity was "Active Play" for children, who stated that they played games "To Learn Something". Among the results of the study, the participating students stated that they did not like being passive during their learning processes. It was also determined in the study that students prefer playing games in groups more, these preferences of theirs change according to the grade variable, and the majority of children cannot decide on their games and on what to play. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between teachers' self-efficacy sense and their level of readiness for online learning. The research is in relational screening model. The sample of the study consists of 397 teachers at different districts and center of Bursa during the Academic year of 2016-2017. To determine teachers' self-efficacy sense, "Teacher Self Efficacy Scale", to determine their level of readiness for online learning, "Readiness for Online Learning Scale" were used. The research findings show that there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy senses and readiness for online learning levels. Senses of teachers' self-efficacy varies according to the age variable for total self-efficacy attitude with discipline, during the education and classroom management sub-dimensions. According to the gender variable only classroom management sub-dimension varies for the levels of teachers' self-efficacy senses. Senses of teachers' self-efficacy varies according to the period of service variable for total selfefficacy attitude with discipline, during the education and classroom management subdimensions. Teachers' readiness for online learning levels vary according to the age variable for only computer/internet efficacy sub-dimension. One of the affective variables influencing education-instructional process is anxiety. In teaching of writing skill, anxiety is an important variable to be taken into consideration. The anxiety that hinders the development of individual writing skills stems from the convergence of various variables. In order for writing education to be effective and productive, anxiety must be taken into account. The purpose of the current study is to develop a reliable and valid writing anxiety scale for secondary school students. The study was conducted on 500 students attending secondary schools in the city of Istanbul. A total of 96 students randomly selected from these schools were asked to write a composition explaining their opinions about writing; thus, qualitative data were collected. On the basis of the students' composition, a draft scale consisted of 46 items were developed. The piloting of the draft scale was performed on 48 secondary school students. On the basis of expert opinions and student feedbacks, the scale was reduced to 38 items. The scale obtained in this way was administered to 500 secondary school students. As a result of the analyses conducted, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of the scale was found to be .838; its Bartlett's Sphericity Test value was found to be (Χ²=1767,902; sd=171 p<.,000). Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient used to calculate the internal consistency of the scale was found to be .790. As a result of the factor analysis, a total of 16 items subsumed under three factors and explaining 41.036% of the scale were obtained. In light of the findings of the study, it can be argued that the scale is valid and reliable. The scale can be used to measure secondary school students' writing anxiety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the research is to determine the teachers' perceptions working in public secondary schools toward their headmasters' paternalistic leadership behaviours. Descriptive survey research method was applied. The sample of the research consists of 261 teachers in 20 secondary schools selected by random sampling method in Mardin city center during 2016-2017 academic year. The data of the research were obtained by using the "Headmasters' Paternalistic Leadership Behaviours Scale" developed by Dağlı and Ağalday (2017). The meaningfulness level was taken as .05. The following findings were acquired after the analysis of the data: The overall average of teachers' perceptions toward their headmasters' paternalistic leadership behaviours was found at "strongly agree" level. According to teachers' perceptions, the paternalistic leadership behaviour that headmasters exhibit at the lowest level was "to use their authority for their personal benefit" while the behaviour that headmasters exhibit at the highest level was "to protect their teachers from outside and unfair criticisms". There was a significant difference between the teachers' perceptions toward their headmasters regarding the dimension of "benevolent leadership" concerning two variables, namely "union membership" and "gender".
