Introduction: Mothers of preterm infants need support to deal with the issues caused by the early birth of their infants. Objective: The authors examined the impact of a multifaceted supportive approach on the mothers' perceived support levels. Methods: The present quasi-experimental study was performed on 143 mother–preterm infant pairs, in two neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) of referral and educational hospitals in Tehran, Iran. The base of developed interventions was known to support system patterns of mothers with preterm infants. Different supportive interventions (appraisal, instrumental, emotional, and informational) of mothers were implemented during three months. The Nurse Parent Support Tool was applied for assessing perceptions of perceived support by mothers. Routine care was provided for the control group. The results were analyzed by STATA software 13. Categorical variables were analyzed by chi-square test, t -test, and inverse probability treatment weights. Results: Following adjustments of mean differences of outcomes between study groups (95% confidence interval), all support scores, such as instrumental support, −1.23 (95% CI −1.04 to −1.43), total support, −1.83 (95% CI −1.6 to −2.06), appraisal support, −2.01 (95% CI −1.73 to −2.29), emotional support, −1.87 (95% CI −2.15 to 1.6), and informational support, −2.12 (95% CI −1.82 to −2.43), were significantly higher in the interventional group than in the control group (p <.001). Conclusions: Support received by mothers of preterm infants determines maternal/neonatal health. Information sharing and effective ways to support are essential elements in the mother's ability to deal with the new, stressful situation. Background: The world is not on track to meet the World Health Assembly (WHA) global target on Low Birth Weight (LBW). To estimate the prevalence and to identify the associated determinants of LBW among the newborns. Material and Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study among the 364 mothers registered under the all government health facilities of Dadra & Nagar Haveli (DNH) during November 2021 to January 2022. Results: The prevalence of LBW was found to be 39%. On uni-variable logistic regression, live in relationship, caste, weight of mother, Body Mass Index (BMI), weight gain <5 kg in 2nd and 3rd trimester, high-risk pregnancy, complication present in previous pregnancy and preterm delivery, while on multi-variable logistic regression, weight gain <5 kg in 2nd and 3rd trimester (AOR 2, 95% CI 1.007-4.2) and having high-risk pregnancy (AOR 2, 95% CI 1.1-3.0) were found to be the significant predictors of LBW among the newborns. Conclusions: We conclude from the study that the prevalence of low birth weight among the newborn was high. There is a need to address maternal and child health issues like low birth weight, malnutrition and high-risk pregnancy under the RMNCAH+N program through various effective interventions. The historical influence of environmental factors on families has received relatively little scholarly attention. In this article we explore the impact of the 'natural' or 'more-than-human' world on Australian families through one of the most powerful examples of environmental influence: disasters. We take three case studies as our focus: Cyclone Tracy (1974), the 2011 Queensland Floods and the 2019-20 Black Summer Fires. Our primary source materials are oral history interviews with Australian parents, some of which are archived interviews in cultural collections and some of which are contemporary interviews newly-created for this research. Through these case studies spanning half a century, we analyse change and continuity in the ways in which disasters have been experienced and remembered by Australian parents. While parents consistently shoulder an additional burden during disaster by caring for children, the ways they do so are distinctly gendered and have remained so across time. But as disasters increase in frequency, ferocity and severity in an era of climate change, the way parents understand, respond and prepare for environmental crises is shifting. Australian parents increasingly see their childrearing duties as encompassing consideration of extreme weather in locating or renovating a family home, practicing evacuation drills, and anticipating potential disasters in planning family holidays. Awareness of climate risks is even influencing reproductive decisions about family size or whether to become a parent. We hypothesise that shifts in individual parent's disaster experiences may be collectively changing Australian cultural ideals of 'good' parenthood in the twenty-first century. Research conducted at the intersection of the history of the family and environmental history is becoming urgently significant in the present-day, as we seek to make sense of rapid environmental change and its personal and cultural impacts on our human lives. Background: The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on health systems worldwide has been associated with less attention to maternal support in breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to explore the experiences of breastfeeding mothers, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of the pandemic on breastfeeding initiation and maintenance. Materials and Methods: A qualitative, descriptive study was conducted by means of in-depth semi-structured interviews. The study participants included 28 mothers who had children aged 0 to 12 months, lived in Guilan Province, Iran, and had breastfed their children at least once after March 2021. Conventional content analysis was performed simultaneously with data collection. Results: Data analysis led to the extraction of three main categories and nine subcategories: in the shadow of peace (receiving correct information from reliable sources, observing health and quarantine principles, and enjoying the awareness of not having COVID-19 [both the mother and the infant]), under the stress (information poverty, invalid and stressful information, and stressful association of underlying diseases), and in the delusion of exposure (refusal to breastfeed, and non-compliance with recommendations). Conclusions: Mothers' breastfeeding experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic indicate factors such as receiving or not receiving breastfeeding support, quarantine and the resulting stress, and exposure to conflicting information. Mothers felt that their experience with breastfeeding during the pandemic encouraged them to continue breastfeeding, but it is important to support breastfeeding mothers. Monitoring and supporting vulnerable groups such as breastfeeding mothers, for mental health problems during the COVID-19 pandemic, should be considered during the planning phase. Psychological birth trauma and childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder represent a substantial burden of disease with 6.6 million mothers and 1.7 million fathers or co-parents affected by childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder worldwide each year. There is mounting evidence to indicate that parents who develop childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder do so as a direct consequence of a traumatic childbirth experience. High-risk groups, such as those who experience preterm birth, stillbirth, or preeclampsia, have higher prevalence rates. The main risks include antenatal factors (eg, depression in pregnancy, fear of childbirth, poor health or complications in pregnancy, history of trauma or sexual abuse, or mental health problems), perinatal factors (eg, negative subjective birth experience, operative birth, obstetrical complications, and severe maternal morbidity, as well as maternal near misses, lack of support, dissociation), and postpartum factors (eg, depression, postpartum physical complications, and poor coping and stress). The link between birth events and childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder provides a valuable opportunity to prevent traumatic childbirths and childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder from occurring in the first place. Childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder is an extremely distressing mental disorder and has a substantial negative impact on those who give birth, fathers or co-parents, and, potentially, the whole family. Still, a traumatic childbirth experience and childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder remain largely unrecognized in maternity services and are not routinely screened for during pregnancy and the postpartum period. In fact, there are gaps in the evidence on how, when, and who to screen. Similarly, there is a lack of evidence on how best to treat those affected. Primary prevention efforts (eg, screening for antenatal risk factors, use of trauma-informed care) are aimed at preventing a traumatic childbirth experience and childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder in the first place by eliminating or reducing risk factors for childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder. Secondary prevention approaches (eg, trauma-focused psychological therapies, early psychological interventions) aim to identify those who have had a traumatic childbirth experience and to intervene to prevent the development of childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder. Tertiary prevention (eg, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) seeks to ensure that people with childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder are identified and treated to recovery so that childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder does not become chronic. Adequate prevention, screening, and intervention could alleviate a considerable amount of suffering in affected families. In light of the available research on the impact of childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder on families, it is important to develop and evaluate assessment, prevention, and treatment interventions that target the birthing person, the couple dyad, the parent-infant dyad, and the family as a whole. Further research should focus on the inclusion of couples in different constellations and, more generally, on the inclusion of more diverse populations in diverse settings. The paucity of national and international policy guidance on the prevention, care, and treatment of psychological birth trauma and the lack of formal psychological birth trauma services and training, highlight the need to engage with service managers and policy makers. Children with developmental disorders such as hydrocephalus need assistance in carrying out their daily activities. Mothers who are caregivers for children with hydrocephalus are prone to experiencing stress and negative emotions because children with hydrocephalus are very dependent on their mothers. In previous research, many have said that it is important to pay attention to mothers who have children with disabilities, but not many have provided direct intervention to reduce stress levels and negative emotions for mothers. Intervention art therapy can be a cathartic medium for mothers to express their feelings and relieve their emotional tension. This study aimed to view the effectiveness of art therapy interventions in reducing participants' stress levels and negative emotions. This research is an experimental study with a one-group pre-posttest design involving seven mothers who have an age range of 20-40 years, have children with hydrocephalus, and are directly involved in their care. Differences in levels of stress and negative emotions were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) from Cohen et al. (1983) and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) from Watson et al. (1988). Based on the results of the analysis using the paired sample t-test, it was found that there were significant differences in the level of maternal stress (t=8.910, p=.000), negative emotions (z=-2.032, p= .042) and positive emotions (z=-2.371, p= .018). These results indicate that art therapy interventions can reduce levels of parenting stress and negative emotions, as well as increase positive emotions in mothers who have children with hydrocephalus. We aimed to identify parents' dental anxiety trajectories and the association of the trajectories with the number of parents' and their children's oral healthcare procedures in the FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study. Dental anxiety was measured with the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale at gestational weeks (gw) 14 and 34, as well as 3 and 24 months (mo) after childbirth. Oral healthcare procedures from gw14 to 24 mo were obtained from the national patient data register and categorized as preventive and treatment. Trajectories were identified with latent growth mixture modelling for 2068 fathers and 3201 mothers. Associations between trajectories and procedures adjusted for education were analyzed using unordered multinomial logit models. Fathers' trajectories were stable low (80.1%), stable high (3.4%), stable moderate (11.0%), moderate increasing (3.9%) and high decreasing (1.6%). Mothers' trajectories were stable low (80.7%), stable high (11.2%), moderate increasing (5.3%) and high decreasing (2.8%). Mothers with decreasing dental anxiety had a higher number of preventive and treatment procedures. Fathers with decreasing dental anxiety had a higher number of preventive and treatment procedures, while fathers with increasing dental anxiety had fewer procedures. Children of mothers with stable low dental anxiety had higher number of preventive procedures. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concordance of parents' assessments of their child's dental fear. Cross-sectional secondary analysis used data from the multidisciplinary FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study. Child dental fear was assessed at age 5 with the Finnish translation of the modified Children's Fear Survey Schedule Dental Subscale (CFSS-M) by both fathers (n = 588) and mothers (n = 1100). Reply alternatives were from 1 = not afraid to 5 = very afraid and 6 = no experience coded as missing and 1. In total, 514 mother–father pairs were eligible for the analyses. Descriptive statistics, percentage agreement and Cohen's Kappa coefficients were used in the analyses. The concordance of parents' assessments was poor (Kappa range 0.072–0.258). The majority of parents replied "No Experience" to items related to invasive treatment or being unable to breathe. Thus, coding of this reply alternative had a significant impact on the mean values of the child's fear. When assessing the fear of a five-year-old child, it might not be safe to rely only on one parent's assessment, and whether or not the child has experience with the question asked should also be considered. Despite Latinx grandparents' substantial involvement in child rearing, there is limited understanding of their child feeding practices. A survey examined 80 Latinx mothers' perception of Latinx grandparents' feeding practices and interaction with parents. Results showed grandparents engaged in positive feeding somewhat frequently and negative feeding somewhat infrequently. Mother–grandparent disagreement and grandparent–parent(s) communication on child feeding occurred at a moderate level of frequency. Mother–grandparent disagreement was associated with higher frequency of grandparents' negative feeding, while grandparent–parent(s) communication was associated with higher frequency of positive feeding by grandparents. Background: Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months followed by ongoing breastfeeding to 12 months and beyond is associated with multiple benefits for both mother and child. Maternal smoking is associated with a reduction in breastfeeding. Little is known about the effect of partner smoking on breastfeeding. Aims: This study explores the smoking behaviour of mothers and their partners in the first two years of a child's life and its associations with breastfeeding practice. Materials and Methods: We performed a secondary data analysis using survey data on 1155 mothers from their third trimester of pregnancy and at six, 12 and 24 months after delivery. Survey questions included smoking status of both mother and partner and breastfeeding intention and practice. Logistic regression models were conducted at each time point. Findings: Where the mother or both parents smoke, babies were less likely to be breastfed at six months of age (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 0.29, 95% CI: 0.13–0.66) compared with families where neither parent smoked. Non‐smoking mothers with smoking partners were less likely to intend to breastfeed (aOR 0.29, 95% CI: 0.11–0.82) and their babies were less likely to be breastfed at six and 12 months of age (aOR 0.64, 95% CI: 0.42–0.98 and 0.64, 95% CI: 0.43–0.95 respectively). There was no difference in breastfeeding behaviour between smoking and non‐smoking parents at 24 months. Conclusion: Smoking parents are less likely to breastfeed their babies at ages six and 12 months. Breastfeeding promotion should target both smoking mothers and smoking partners. The COVID-19 pandemic has both positive and negative impacts on individuals in affected areas. For mothers who have many roles at home, this impact can cause stress due to sudden changes in the family. Therefore, it is important to know whether mindful parenting, parenting self-efficacy, and marital satisfaction are important factors for family resilience. This study used a quantitative approach to examine the roles of those factors. Data obtained using Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire, Interpersonal Mindful Parenting, Self-Efficacy Parenting Task Index-Toddler Scale Short Form and ENRICH Marital Satisfaction (EMS) Scale were analyzed by multiple regression. Based on data from 116 mothers who have toddlers (Mage = 28.46, SD = 3.14), it is known that the associations of mindful parenting, parenting self-efficacy, and marital satisfaction predict 50% of family resilience positively. Furthermore, marital satisfaction provides the largest significant unique contribution, followed by a smaller contribution by parenting self-efficacy, while mindful parenting did not. This shows that internal and external factors by the mother both contribute to creating a resilient family during the Covid-19 Pandemic, thus, it is essentially important to ensure that mothers receive good support from their partners and are confident in providing positive care for their children. Background: All children experience fear and anxiety as two natural emotions during their life, and this anxiety is more when they are away from their main caregivers. After examining the research background, it was found that each of the conducted studies only studied one of the components of this research. Therefore, the absence of a research that examines all the mentioned components in relation to each other, indicated the existence of a research gap in this field. Aims: The model study was conducted with the aim of investigating the pattern of structural relationships predicting children's separation anxiety symptoms based on parenting styles with the mediation of stress. Methods: This This research was descriptive and correlational in terms of applied purpose and based on the method of data collection. The statistical population of the present study included 500 mothers of 6-8 year old children suffering from separation anxiety disorder in 4 regions of north, south, east and west of Tehran city and 217 of them were based on Cochran's formula and available as a statistical sample. were chosen. Also, the data collection tool in this research was the Separation Anxiety Assessment Scale (Parent Version) (Han et al., 2003), Parenting Styles Questionnaire (Baumrind, 1971), and Parental Stress Index Standard Questionnaire (Abidin, 1983) and for data analysis Structural equation method and Spss-22.AMOS-22 software were also used. Results: The results of the research showed that children's separation anxiety symptoms can be predicted based on parenting styles with the mediation of stress (P<0.001) and also mothers' stress plays a mediating role in predicting children's separation anxiety symptoms based on parenting styles. has it. Also, the obtained findings indicate that the model of structural relationships predicting children's separation anxiety symptoms based on parenting styles with the mediation of mothers' stress has a suitable fit (P>0.05). Conclusion: According to the optimal fit of the research structural model, children's separation anxiety symptoms can be predicted based on parenting styles with the mediation of mothers' stress. According to the results, it can be said that children's separation anxiety causes deep changes in various aspects of children's personal and social life. Using the categories identified in the current research can be a guide for experts in evaluating which of the categories children with separation anxiety have more serious problems in, and as a result, can help experts in designing and implementing interventions appropriate to the same category. This study examines the stability of child attachment to mothers and fathers separately, and to both parents as a network between the infancy and preschool periods using a sample of 143 biparental families and their children (73 boys) recruited from the general population. Attachment was assessed at 15 months with the Strange Situation Procedure (SSP) and at 45 months with the Preschool Attachment Classification Coding System (PACS). First, results show no stability in attachment to mothers, to fathers, or to both parents as a network. Second, parents’ mental health, life satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and child externalizing behavior are associated with attachment stability. Taken altogether, group comparisons reveal that children with a stable secure attachment to both parents as a network have parents with higher levels of well-being and exhibit less problem behaviors than children with 1) a stable secure attachment to one parent and an unstable attachment to the other parent (from secure to insecure or from insecure to secure), or 2) who never had a stable secure attachment to either parent. Background: The introduction of complementary food is the most important factor determining the nutritional status of the children in the first 2 years of life. This study aimed to find out the determinants and patterns of complementary feeding practices and their impact on the growth and development of children of 6–24 months of age group. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was done on immunization out patient department (OPD) in the field practice area of the Department of Community Medicine. The sample size taken was 250 using a systematic random sampling method. Results: One hundred and seven (42.8%) were given the optimum amount of complementary food for their age. One hundred and three (41.2%) were fed with an adequate frequency for their age. One hundred and ninety-five (78.0%) were given food that was appropriate in consistency for their age. Among 183 (73.2%) children who were not fed appropriately during and after their illness episodes, 119 (65.0%) were malnourished. On using logistic regression it was seen that the variables which had statistically significant association with the complementary feeding patterns (P<0.05) were maternal education, father's age, total members in the family, advice on complementary feeding from health care workers and use of bottle for feeding. Father's education, availability of ration card, antenatal counselling on childcare, birth order and history of repeated illness in the past did not show statistically significant association with complementary feeding practices (P>0.05). Conclusion: There was no statistically significant difference between the feeding patterns of normal and malnourished children. The association of complementary feeding practices and the anthropometric status of study children was not found statistically significant in the present study. Advice on complementary feeding from healthcare workers is seen to be having a positive impact on complementary feeding practices (P < 0.01). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Samik Bandyopadhyay comments on Mahasweta devi's Bayen, "The metaphoric core of Bayen...lies deeper than the obvious protest against the inhumanity of superstition...Mahasweta touches the larger space of the social forces that separate mother and son in a male-dominated system". This paper attempts to see the struggling woman figure in Mahasweta Devi's play Bayen and discuss how a lower caste woman is accused as a Bayen. According to village people bayen is a woman, who has ability to curse others and breastfeed the dead children. Chandidasi is separated from her son and family. OBJECTIVE: Adverse exposures during pregnancy have been linked with respiratory disorders in the offspring. Research also shows that maternal mental disorders can influence the risk of respiratory illnesses. We hereby systematically examined if specific mental disorders during pregnancy, namely, anxiety and depression, can increase the risk of asthma in the offspring. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A literature search of PubMed, CENTRAL, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science databases from inception to 15th October 2023 was undertaken for cohort studies assessing the association between maternal anxiety/depression and the risk of asthma in the offspring. Adjusted data was quantitatively synthesized in a random-effect meta-analysis model. RESULTS: Nine studies with 1,027,469 mother-child pairs were included. Studies reported data on anxiety, depression, or both anxiety and depression. Maternal anxiety (OR: 1.61 95% CI: 1.29, 2.01 I²=0%), maternal depression (OR: 1.25 95% CI: 1.07, 1.45 I²=12%), and both combined (OR: 1.28 95% CI: 1.16, 1.41 I2=93%) were associated with significantly increase the risk of asthma in childhood. Overall, the pooled analysis showed that maternal anxiety or depression significantly increased the risk of asthma in childhood by 30% (OR: 1.30 95% CI: 1.20, 1.40 I²=75%). Results remained significant on multiple subgroup analyses. CONCLUSIONS: Maternal anxiety and depression can increase the risk of asthma in childhood. The observational nature of studies, differences in adjusted founders, methodological variations, and predominance of European data are important limitations. Objective: Time spent among the 24-h movement behaviors (physical activity [PA], sleep, sedentary behavior [SB]) in the perinatal period is important for maternal and child health. We described changes to 24-h movement behaviors and behavior guideline attainment during pregnancy and postpartum and identified correlates of behavior changes. Methods: This secondary data analysis included the standard of care group (n = 439) from the U.S.-based Lifestyle Interventions For Expectant Moms (LIFE-Moms) consortium, including persons with overweight and obesity. Wrist-worn accelerometry was used to measure movement behaviors early (9–15 weeks) and late (35–36 weeks) pregnancy, and ∼ 1-year postpartum. Sleep and moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) were compared to adult and pregnancy-specific guidelines, respectively. SB was classified into quartiles. PA and SB context were quantified using questionnaires. Mixed models were used to examine changes in behaviors and guidelines and identify correlates. Results: Participants were 31.3 ± 3.5 years, 53.5 % were Black or Hispanic, and 45.1 % had overweight. Sleep duration decreased across time, but participants consistently met the guideline (range: 85.0–93.6 %). SB increased during pregnancy and decreased postpartum, while light PA and MVPA followed the inverse pattern. Participants met slightly fewer guidelines late pregnancy (1.2 ± 0.7 guidelines) but more postpartum (1.7 ± 0.8 guidelines) than early pregnancy (1.4 ± 0.8 guidelines). Black or Hispanic race/ethnicity, higher pregravid body mass index, and non-day work-shift (e.g., night-shift) were identified correlates of lower guideline adherence and varying PA and SB context. Conclusion: Perinatal interventions should consider strategies to prevent SB increase and sustain MVPA to promote guideline adherence.

Abstract Background There are several versions of the Breastfeeding Motivation Scale (BMS), which have been shown to measure maternal breastfeeding motivation, but there is not a Chinese version yet. The study aimed to translate the BMS into Chinese and subsequently assess its psychometric properties among Chinese mothers during the postpartum period. Methods The study was composed of two phases. The translation of BMS closely followed the principals of good practices. Phase 1 included a comprehensive translation, back-translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and pretest to develop the Chinese version of the BMS. From 1 December 2021 to 1 July 2022, the Chinese version of the BMS was administered to 206 postnatal mothers in our maternity wards to assess its psychometric properties. Phase 2 involved psychometric property testing, including testing of the internal consistency, test–retest reliability, content validity, construct validity, convergent validity and discriminant validity. Results Minor modifications in four items were recommended after translations. Background: The introduction of complementary food is the most important factor determining the nutritional status of the children in the first 2 years of life. This study aimed to find out the determinants and patterns of complementary feeding practices and their impact on the growth and development of children of 6–24 months of age group. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was done on immunization out patient department (OPD) in the field practice area of the Department of Community Medicine. The sample size taken was 250 using a systematic random sampling method. Results: One hundred and seven (42.8%) were given the optimum amount of complementary food for their age. One hundred and three (41.2%) were fed with an adequate frequency for their age. One hundred and ninety-five (78.0%) were given food that was appropriate in consistency for their age. Among 183 (73.2%) children who were not fed appropriately during and after their illness episodes, 119 (65.0%) were malnourished. On using logistic regression it was seen that the variables which had statistically significant association with the complementary feeding patterns (P0.05). Conclusion: There was no statistically significant difference between the feeding patterns of normal and malnourished children. The association of complementary feeding practices and the anthropometric status of study children was not found statistically significant in the present study. Advice on complementary feeding from healthcare workers is seen to be having a positive impact on complementary feeding practices (P < 0.01).

Background: The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on health systems worldwide has been associated with less attention to maternal support in breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to explore the experiences of breastfeeding mothers, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of the pandemic on breastfeeding initiation and maintenance. Materials and Methods: A qualitative, descriptive study was conducted by means of in-depth semi-structured interviews. The study participants included 28 mothers who had children aged 0 to 12 months, lived in Guilan Province, Iran, and had breastfed their children at least once after March 2021. Conventional content analysis was performed simultaneously with data collection. Results: Data analysis led to the extraction of three main categories and nine subcategories: in the shadow of peace (receiving correct information from reliable sources, observing health and quarantine principles, and enjoying the awareness of not having COVID-19 [both the mother and the infant]), under the stress (information poverty, invalid and stressful information, and stressful association of underlying diseases), and in the delusion of exposure (refusal to breastfeed, and non-compliance with recommendations). Conclusions: Mothers' breastfeeding experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic indicate factors such as receiving or not receiving breastfeeding support, quarantine and the resulting stress, and exposure to conflicting information. Mothers felt that their experience with breastfeeding during the pandemic encouraged them to continue breastfeeding, but it is important to support breastfeeding mothers. Monitoring and supporting vulnerable groups such as breastfeeding mothers, for mental health problems during the COVID-19 pandemic, should be considered during the planning phase.

The mother represents one of the earliest sources of microorganisms to the child, influencing the acquisition and establishment of its microbiota in early life. However, the impact of the mother on the oral microbiota of the child from early life until adulthood remains to unveil. This narrative review aims to: i) explore the maternal influence on the oral microbiota of the child, ii) summarize the similarity between the oral microbiota of mother and child over time, iii) understand possible routes for vertical transmission, and iv) comprehend the clinical significance of this process for the child. We first describe the acquisition of the oral microbiota of the child and maternal factors related to this process. We compare the similarity between the oral microbiota of mother and child throughout time, while presenting possible routes for vertical transmission. Finally, we discuss the clinical relevance of the mother in the pathophysiological outcome of the child. Overall, maternal and non-maternal factors impact the oral microbiota of the child through several mechanisms, although the consequences in the long term are still unclear. More longitudinal research is needed to unveil the importance of early-life microbiota on the future health of the infant.

This study investigated the influence of mothers' occupation on children's upbringing in the Udenu Local Government Area in Enugu State. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the feeding, clothing, academic, and health practices adopted by mothers in Enugu State. The study utilized a survey research design, focusing on the Udenu Local Government Area. A sample of three hundred respondents was used, and data was collected through questionnaires. The instrument was face validated by experts from the Department of Home Economics and Hospitality Management Education at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. To ensure reliability, a trial testing was conducted, resulting in a Cronbach alpha reliability estimate of 0.87. Data analysis involved frequency count and percentages. The findings revealed limited mother care in terms of children's feeding, clothing, health, and academic upbringing, which was attributed to the negative influence of the mothers' occupation. Recommendations were made to enhance children's upbringing, including an increase in maternity leave to allow mothers to spend quality time with their children.

ObjectiveTo explore the influence of maternal exposure to chlorpyrifos during pregnancy on neuro-developmental abnormalities of children at age of 2 years for health risk assessment and control of maternal chlorpyrifos exposure. MethodsThe participants of the study were 893 healthy mother-infant pairs enrolled in the Health Baby Birth Cohort in Wuhan municipality, Hubei province from January 2014 through June 2017. Urine samples (n = 2679) were collected from all the surveyed mothers at first, second, and third trimester of pregnancy for detection of 3, 5, 6-trichloro-2-pyridinol (TCPy, a specific metabolite of chlorpyrifos) by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry to evaluate internal exposure of chlorpyrifos. The mental development index (MDI) and psychomotor development index (PDI) of surveyed children at age of 2 years were measured using domestically modified Bayley Scales of Infant Development (BSID-CR). The correlation between the children′s neurodevelopmental abnor-malities and maternal chlorpyrifos exposure during pregnancy was analyzed. ResultsThe mean scores of MDI and PDI were 110.0 ± 21.7 and 111.0 ± 17.1 for all the 2-year-old children and 99 (11.1%) and 23 (2.58%) of the children were assessed as having abnormal mental and psychomotor development (with the MDI or PDI score of less than 80), respectively. The median (25th percentile, 75th percentile) of urine specific gravity adjusted concentration (ng/mL) of TCPy for urine samples the mothers in the first, second, and third trimesters were 2.02 (1.30, 3.38), 1.58 (0.98, 2.45), and 1.29 (0.79, 2.05), with the detection rate of 99.4%, 98.8%, and 95.9%, respectively. After adjusting for age at delivery, pre-pregnancy body mass index, maternal education, passive smoking during pregnancy, folic acid supplementation during pregnancy, child sex, parity, breastfeeding duration, and season of urine sample collection, the results of the multifactorial generalized estimating equation analysis indicated that each two-fold increase in maternal urinary TCPy concentration at first trimester was associated with the increased risks of mental and psychomotor developmental abnormalities for all the mothers′ children of 2-year-old, with the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) of 1.15 (95%CI: 1.01 – 1.32) and 1.34 (95%CI: 1.04 – 1.73); while, for the mother′s boys of 2-year-old, each two-fold increase in maternal urinary TCPy concentration at first trimester was correlated with increased risk of psychomotor developmental abnormality (OR = 1.47, 95%CI: 1.09 – 1.99). ConclusionMaternal exposure to chlorpyrifos during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, could lead to neurodevelopmental abnormalities in children at age of 2 years, with a more pronounced effect on the neurodevelopment of boys.

Abstract Aim To investigate reflections of public health nurses (PHNs) on implementing the New Families programme, a supplement to the usual Norwegian child health centre programme. It involves user‐led decisions on the content and number of home visits offered by the family's PHN from pregnancy week 28 until the child is 2 years. Design An interpretive description approach. Methods Altogether 206 anonymized, undated reflection notes by PHNs becoming familiar with the programme were collected in 2017–2020. NVivo 12 and inductive content analysis were used to convert the data into manageable segments. Results Focusing on childhood experiences and parental role expectations among prospective parents during home visits was seen as a major shift in the nurses' counselling strategy. Providing relevant information to the parents‐to‐be ahead of a meeting was important. Given sufficient staff and guidance, the programme was considered a good basis for building a relationship with the family.

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infection that can occur in the respiratory tract. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015 stated that, ARI is the leading cause of death in children less than 5 years old in the world. This service aims to improve the degree of public health knowledge through counseling on the importance of prevention and early management of ARI in children. This method of service is to conduct an initial survey of the location of the service, conduct counseling related to the initial management and prevention of ARI in children accompanied by discussions at the Gambesi Health Center. The target of this devotion is mothers who have toddler children. The result obtained is that there is an increase in maternal knowledge before and after counseling is carried out

Background: Poor oral hygiene, generally manifesting as dental caries, gingivitis, or periodontitis, is a common chronic condition among both children and adults worldwide and has been reportedly associated with hypertension and arterial stiffness mainly in adult patients. However, these associations have not been well-studied in children and adults in the general population. Therefore, we conducted this cross-sectional study to clarify the associations between oral hygiene indices and high blood pressure (BP)/hypertension and arterial stiffness as assessed by the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) in children along with their mothers. The association between maternal oral hygiene and high BP in children was also examined based on the hypothesis that maternal awareness of oral hygiene is related to their children’s oral hygiene. Methods: This study was conducted as an Adjunct Study of the Aichi Regional Sub-Cohort of the Japan Environment and Children’s Study. Participating children (n = 220, 85–104 months old) and their mothers (n = 217, 29–52 years old) underwent dental/intra-oral examination and BP and CAVI assessment. High BP in children and hypertension in mothers were diagnosed according to corresponding American guidelines. Logistic regression analysis or analysis of covariance was used to examine the associations of poor oral hygiene indices with BP and CAVI. Results: Maternal dental caries ≥1 was associated with their hypertension (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]: 2.72, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.12–6.61). Maternal dental plaque ≥1/3 was associated with maternal hypertension and children’s high BP (aOR, 95% CI: 4.71, 1.33–16.73 and 5.67, 1.22–25.04, respectively). Maximum pocket depth ≥4 mm was associated with children’s high BP (aOR: 6.85, 95% CI: 1.24–38.01). No associations were observed between oral hygiene indices and CAVI in children; however, there was a significant association between dental plaque and CAVI in mothers (F = 5.62, p < 0.01). Conclusions: The small sample size, especially the case number, made it necessary to refrain from drawing unambiguous conclusion. The hypothesis that warrants further investigation based on the present study results is that poor oral hygiene is associated with high BP in children and hypertension and arterial stiffness in mothers, and maternal oral hygiene is associated with high BP in children.

Adjusting identity standards may be preferable to relentless pursuit or abandonment of an identity when facing an identity-challenging life transition. Self-compassion (SC) can help people adjust to challenges. The authors examined whether SC was associated with identity adjustment, exercise, and the moderating effect of identity-behavior discrepancy in 279 women exercisers who reported reduced exercise in motherhood. Participants completed the Self-Compassion Scale and reported the extent of and reflected on their identity discrepant behavior (reduced exercise). Reactions to discrepancy (acceptance, shame, guilt, and rumination), correlates of identity adjustment (subjective well-being, autonomous motivation, controlled motivation, and role conflict), and exercise behavior were assessed. SC associated positively with acceptance, correlates of successful identity adjustment, and exercise behavior. SC associated negatively with shame, rumination, and correlates of unsuccessful adjustment. SC may help exercise-identifying women who exercise less after becoming mothers adaptively cope with this identity challenge and continue exercising. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this paper is to point out the relationship between the works of Henri Michaux and the re-elaboration of Valerio Magrelli concerning the main theme of the body. In particular, the research is focused on the thematic presence of the organ of the mouth and of the voice and of the imagery associated with them. The attention to this organ and the phonetic emission resulting from it is extremely linked, in both writers, to the relationship with parental figures. Therefore, this theme seems to be linked to that of the rejection of the father and to that of the mother.

Introduction: Self-medication in children has turned into an important problem for the health of Iranian society. Because children are more sensitive to the harmful effects of drugs due to their immature physiology. This study was conducted in order to investigate the self-medication status of mothers regarding the diseases of children under five years old in the villages of Ardakan. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-cross-sectional study was conducted on 350 mothers with children under five years old in the villages of Ardakan in 2019. Sampling was done by census. The data was collected by a standard five-part self- medication questionnaire. The data was analyzed with spss24and using descriptive statistics and chi-square. Results: The results showed that 57.82% of the mothers had arbitrarily given medicine to their children. The most important causes of self-inflicted drug use were not having a means of commuting to the city with 92.38%, the road not being open for commuting to the city all year round with 27.89%. Also, cold medicines with 96.88% and antipyretics with 93.77% were the most used medicines. A significant relationship was observed between the status of health insurance coverage and self- medication. Conclusion: Considering that about 80% of mothers self- medicate and the reasons for many of them are the lack of transportation facilities to medical centers,the improvement and development of routes and roads as well as the fair distribution of doctors and medical services in rural communities seem necessary.

Objectives: Down syndrome (DS) is a genetic disorder that causes many problems for the affected person and his or her family. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of resilience training on the stress of mothers of students with DS. Methods: This study is a non-randomized clinical trial conducted on 36 mothers of students with DS studying at Shahid Rajaieh School, Tehran. They were selected by a convenience sampling method and divided into the control and intervention groups. Resilience skill training intervention was performed in ten sessions for the intervention group. The instruments used in the present study included a demographic questionnaire and a parenting stress index. Data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 18. Results: Before training resilience skills, no significant difference was observed between the mean stress scores in mothers of the intervention and control groups. After the training program, there was a significant difference between the mean stress scores of the two groups. Discussion: Training resilience skills can reduce stress in mothers of children with DS. Adolescent eating disorders and disordered eating behaviours appear to be a growing public health concern. The aetiology of these conditions is complex, as many different factors contribute to their development. Among them, family factors such as parenting styles and comments regarding weight coming from family members are considered critical and are extensively researched. However, the impact of parental dieting has received less attention. A literature review was conducted in order to examine the relationship between parental engagement in weight-reduction dieting and their adolescent offspring’s disordered eating behaviours. The review was conducted in three databases (PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar) regarding the period between January 2000 and May 2023. The initial search retrieved 339 abstracts, and 113 full reports were evaluated for eligibility. Six studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were included in the final literature review. A number of studies indicated that adolescents whose parents were engaged in dieting in order to lose weight are more likely to showcase disordered eating behaviours. However, research regarding this relationship is very scarce. More studies on the link between parental eating and dieting habits and the risk of disordered eating in adolescents are required. Moreover, parents should be informed regarding the possible risks when they choose to follow weight-loss diets and the importance of adopting healthy eating and weight-control habits for the whole family.

Recognizing the significance of this subject, the present study aimed to explore the lived experiences of young girls in the realm of adaptation after the death of their mothers during adolescence.Methodology: This research employed a qualitative approach and a phenomenological method. The research population comprised teenage girls and young women aged 20 to 30 who had lost their mothers during their teenage years. Participants were selected through virtual platforms, and data collection was carried out via semi-structured interviews.Findings: After analyzing the data, 22 subthemes were identified and categorized into 6 main components. The results indicated that shifts in attitudes, acceptance of alternative support systems, purposeful efforts, and the cultivation of intimate relationships post-loss contribute to adaptation to life after such a significant loss. Ineffective coping methods encompass a spectrum ranging from diverting attention to avoiding the responsibilities of life. If the teenager receives support during this crisis and can adapt to the loss of her mother, her growth and development will be enhanced.MethodologyThe present study employed the phenomenological method to investigate the lived experiences of young girls in adapting to the death of their mothers. The research targeted teenage girls and young women aged 20 to 30 who lost their mothers during adolescence. Sample members were selected as available through virtual platforms, and semi-structured interviews were conducted. The participants were asked questions about their adaptation after the death of their mothers, such as recounting memories and describing how they coped with the loss.The interviews continued until data saturation, with a total of 12 participants included in the sample. Following the interviews, the participants' statements were coded and analyzed. The analysis of the research question resulted in 22 sub-codes and 6 main codes. The 7-step Claysey method was utilized for data analysis.FindingsAfter a thorough examination and coding of the interviews, 22 sub-themes were identified within the framework of "investigating the lived experiences of girls in the field of adaptation after the death of their mother," which were categorized into 6 main components. A significant part of people's adaptation to bereavement stems from accepting emotional support from relatives without perceiving it as pity. Additionally, active participation in events with the deceased mother's friends and discussing the mother's bereavement with family members have significantly contributed to adapting to the loss.Adolescent girls who establish sincere and emotional connections with friends, parents, and close relatives and accept their spiritual, social, and emotional support tend to adapt to new conditions to a great extent. Another factor influencing girls' adaptation is prayer and talking to God, which has provided peace for some participants. Some participants have employed passive strategies for adapting to new conditions, such as relying on others to alleviate loneliness, distancing themselves emotionally to foster growth and strength, dreaming about personal strength, and utilizing tranquilizers and engaging with the opposite sex.

I examine a speculative diagnosis made by Sigmund Freud regarding his patient's mother in his landmark 1905 paper describing a hysterical illness. Freud considered the impact of Dora's mother's mental state on her daughter, wondering whether the mother might suffer from a ‘housewife's psychosis’. Here was an emphasis on the social structures of the times and differences between the parents in terms of sexual freedom and societal limitations placed on women. Freud's description drew attention to Dora's anxieties in relation to her parents, in particular the state of their sexual relationship and the apparently sanctioned entry of another couple, Frau and Herr K, into the parental relationship. In particular, the role of syphilis in the aetiology of sexual disturbances was considered, affecting men and their sexual partners, specifically their wives, who faced lifelong risks of morbidity, inadequate treatment and psychic disturbances at this time in 19th century Vienna.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to investigate the association between depressive symptoms among mothers and the eating behaviors of their school-going children in Urban Bangladesh. Materials and methods This analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in the context of the urban area of Bangladesh. A multistage sampling technique was applied to select 324 children’s mothers in Dhaka City. Data were collected from both city corporation settings in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Semi-structured questionnaires were used in this study. We estimated the depressive symptoms among mothers using the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale. We examined the association of mothers of school-going children’s socio-demographic variables and eating behaviors of school-going children with their mother’s depression by using chi-square and evaluating the impact of these variables on mothers’ depression through univariate and multivariate binary logistic regression. Results In our study, 57.7% of the mothers of school-going children had depressive symptoms, and 42.3% had no depressive symptoms. The study explored that consuming fewer vegetables (AOR = 0.237, 95% CI: 0.099–0.569), taking fewer fruits (AOR = 0.177, 95% CI: 0.093–0.337), and interestingly, taking fast food less than 4 days per week (AOR = 3.024, 95% CI: 1.517–6.031) were significantly associated with mothers’ depressive symptoms. Conclusion Mothers with depressive symptoms of school-going children in Dhaka city are alarmingly high as a grave concern. The eating behaviors of children are associated with their mothers’ depressive symptoms. With an aim to build rigorous awareness on depression and child’s healthy eating behaviors, it is imperative to arrange health education and awareness related programs.

Objectives: Working women have complex challenges regarding parenting, giving nutrition, and raising children. This research analyses the factors related to stunting in children under two years among working mothers in Indonesia. Methods: We used a cross-sectional design method with a sample size of 2,073 children under two years. The dependent variable is nutritional status, while independent variables consist of residence, maternal age, marital status, maternal education, wealth status, children's age, gender, and early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF). We analysed the relationship between dependent and independent variables using the binary logistic regression model. Results: Children in urban areas whose mothers work were 1.116 times more likely to experience stunting than those in rural areas (95% CI, 1.107 to 1.124). Married working mothers were 1.500 times more likely than divorced mothers to have stunted children (95% CI, 1.461 to 1.540). Background: The phenomenon of sharenting has led to an increase in children's digital presence on social media platforms, particularly Instagram. This study aimed to examine the relationship between features of mothers' Instagram use and their sharing of photos related to their children. Methods: The present study was conducted with 130 mothers of children who applied to our university hospital and who had an Instagram account and allowed us to follow them. The mothers completed an online questionnaire that consisted of parents' sociodemographic data and data regarding social media use characteristics. We created a new Instagram account for this study, and we examined the mothers' Instagrams via this account. The number of Instagram followers was analyzed by dividing it into four equal 25% percentiles. Results: The present study found that mothers with more followers shared more photos about themselves and their children on Instagram per year (p < 0.001). It was confirmed that mothers with more followers were more likely to share their children's photos showing them alone, showing them playing, photos that included identity information, and photos that violated their privacy (p values respectively; p = 0.004, p = 0.001, p = 0.043, p = 0.015). Conclusions: This study highlights the association between mothers' Instagram follower numbers and the presence of risky posts about their children on social media. The number of Instagram followers might serve as a predictor of sharenting behavior. Introduction: Some types of headache may be genetically inherited, but it is not yet established in the literature whether the presence of headache in the mother child may be correlated with the presence of headache in the mother. Objective: To identify the frequency of complaints of childhood headache and to associate it with the presence of headache in the mother. Materials and methods: Children enrolled in a school in São Luís, Brazil, aged 5 to 12 years old, of both genders were included, and those individuals who were not present on the day of collection who did not present the Free Consent Term and clarified (EHIC) signed by the mother and that they presented some cognitive problem. Results: Ninetyeight children (n = 49 (55.68%)) and n = 39 (44.31%) males were evaluated. Each genus was divided into two groups: pain and no pain. Of the total mothers evaluated, n = 68 (88.31%) reported having headache and the majority n = 44 (64.70%) reported routine physical exertion as the main factor of worsening. Of the total number of children with headache n = 81 (92.04%) had mothers who also reported having headache n = 68 (88.31%), a positive association was observed, OR / CI = 2.2 (0.25-1, 36) between the presence of headache in the child and the status of the mother's headache. The symbol of the stone has been a constant in the Peruvian poetic tradition of the 20th century, with a development in which different symbolic constructions can be appreciated. Among them, the identification or relationship of the stone with the mother is found in several authors with different formulations and derivations: from the stone as a constant symbol in the work of César Vallejo, identified with the grave and the cradle and therefore linked to the mother (with birth and death), mother stone and stone-pillow on which to lay the head that also appears, with a different formulation, in César Moro, to the new stone-pillow by José Watanabe, in whose work we can find the image of the winged stone that receives life and turns it into a grave. This article analyzes these symbolic constructions of the stone in order to outline a common thread and a reflection on the relationship of the three authors around the symbol. Scholarship on Latinx communities has consistently underscored the role that families play in college students' educational aspirations and success. Forms of familial empowerment are particularly beneficial as Latinx college students encounter environments and individuals that do not account for their cultural knowledges. A subset of this literature has focused on the gendered dynamics that exist as Latina daughters navigate postsecondary education, especially as they employ lessons and strategies from their mothers. To add to this scholarship, this study engaged a narrative inquiry methodological approach to examine the stories of twelve Latina college students. Informed by a conceptual framework integrating community cultural wealth (CCW) and funds of knowledge, we were interested in how Latina daughters described the influence of their maternal relationships on their educational journeys. Findings illustrated how mothers translated their own funds of knowledge to their daughters; how daughters interpreted this knowledge and, in turn, gained capital; and how they mobilized these capitals to sustain the larger community. This study aims to reveal how the perception of parenting, which is thought to change according to generations, is expressed by digital natives. To gain insight into this topic, interviews were conducted with 20 digital natives selected using purposive sampling and the ZMET Technique. The data obtained from these interviews was then examined through content analysis in Maxqda 2020 program and a consensus map was created within the framework of a mother and father image collage. According to the findings, mothers are expressed with love, trust and peace; likened to soft objects; identified with pleasant-sounding sounds such as bird sounds; visually explained with promising images such as suns or seas; smelled like flowers or roses; and associated colors included green (peace), white (refreshing), blue (hope). The emphasis on fathers in literature is mostly focused on protective descriptions and hard objects. Fathers are described as loud-voiced, with contrasting tastes, as mighty as a lion, and as lofty as a tree and a mountain. It is also likened to a strong perfume in terms of smell. The most intense emphasis on fathers was made on dark blue and brown. Regarding parents, the concepts of guiding, love, trust, solution, commitment, togetherness and support are emphasized. Parents, who are mentioned with sweet and traditional dishes, are visualized with forest, sun and nature scenery. Diaper rash is an acute inflammation that affects the skin of babies and toddlers in the diaper area, including genitals, buttocks, and inner groin. Knowledge about diaper rash was known to have an impact on the effectiveness of therapy and prevention. The purpose of this study were to assess mothers' knowledge and experience with diaper rash and its treatment, as well as to investigate the association between demographic characteristics and knowledge. This cross-sectional study was conducted using a survey. Respondents’ knclusion criteria were (1) a mother, (2) minimum age of 19, (3) having child/children who use diapers. The instrument applied was a validated 23-item questionnaire that had been content and face validated. Data analysis was descriptive and inferential. Total respondents of 106 were obtained. Mayority of respondents were aged 25-29 years (28.3%), had completed high school (42.5%), were unemployed (38.7%), earned 1.5- 4.5 million per month (40.6%), and had two children (47.2%). Diaper rash was experienced by the more than half of respondents' children (66%). The most prevalent age for having a diaper rash was 8 months with mild severity (41.5%). Approximately one-fifth of the respondents in this survey had a moderate degree of knowledge (19.8%) and treated diaper rash themselves (50.9%). The mother's degree of knowledge was correlated with her education and income (p≤0.05). Mothers' understanding of diaper rash can be improved, particularly in terms of its causes and management. Diaper rash’s health promotion is required to prevent and cure diaper rash effectively especially to the mother with low education and low income population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: There is a worldwide trend of increasing rates of overweight and obesity in children under 5 years of age. Mothers' beliefs, perceptions, and attitudes towards feeding practices and obesity have direct implications on their children's health. Aim: To explore beliefs about feeding practices and childhood obesity among mothers with children under five years of age in northwestern Mexico. Methodology: Qualitative study with ethnographic approach. Using purposive sampling, nine semistructured interviews were conducted with women with an average of 12 years of education. Results: Beliefs included insecurity in assuming the role of mother, a low perception of family support, and beliefs that were not aligned with the recommendations of exclusive breastfeeding and introduction of complementary foods. In addition, these held the belief that obesity is not a problem due to the young age of their children. Conclusions: There is ambivalence between the participants' beliefs and their practices regarding feeding and childhood obesity. It is imperative to develop education and communication strategies that provide evidence-based information that is easily accessible and available to mothers to prevent nutrition problems during early childhood. The lack of knowledge, attitudes, and practice of preeclampsia mothers and spouses in preventing eclampsia affected the prevalence of eclampsia. A practical approach model was needed increase knowledge, attitudes, and practices in preventing eclampsia. A mobile application that was effective, easy to use, and understandable was considered one of the solutions. This study aimed to develop an appropriate and user-friendly mobile application for preeclampsia mothers and spouses to prevent eclampsia. The study design was cross-sectional and was conducted in two stages. The first stage identified the content needs for eclampsia prevention in a mobile application. It involved 86 participants selected using the convenience sampling technique and a 20-item questionnaire. The second stage focused on mobile application development and usability testing using the SKAMA (Skala Kebolehgunaan Aplikasi Mudah Alih), which included a 10-item questionnaire with ten participants. Statistical analysis included the distribution frequencies of variables related to content needs and the application's usability, as assessed by beta testers using the SKAMA questionnaire. Out of the 20 questionnaire items assessing the level of need, the lowest percentage of strongly needed items for preeclampsia mothers was "Recommended and Prohibited Activities" (65%). For spouses, it was "Recommended and Prohibited Activities" and "Equipment to be Prepared" (88.2%). In the ten-item questionnaire, preeclampsia mothers scored the highest (50%) on the statement, "Various functions are well integrated, and they learned to use the mobile application very quickly." In comparison, spouses scored the highest (90%) on the statement, "The mobile application is easy to use, and they feel confident using it. All participants confirmed that the mobile application had the necessary content (appropriate). The results of the mobile application testing showed positive responses from pre-eclampsia mothers and spouses (user-friendly). It is essential to obtain support from policymakers and conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation of the application's consistency to have implications for eclampsia prevention practices. Introduction: The high level of food insecurity in Bushehr has made it necessary to identify the factors related to food insecurity in families. This study is conducted to determine the relationship between received social support and household food security from the perspective of mothers with 7-12 children. Methods: In this controlled comparative study with a cross-sectional design, 153 mothers with children between 7-12 were selected with quota sampling method. First, First, the 18-item food security questionnaire regarding the United States Ministry of Agriculture was completed by mothers to create two safe and unsafe groups, and then, the social support questionnaire was completed by them. was completed, To analyze the results, the researchers applied logistic regression, descriptive statistics, chisquare and t-test. The level of significance was set at 0.05. Results: Of the 153 mothers who participated in the study, 36/6% had high-school education, and only 22/2% were employed. The families of mothers with higher education tended to be in secure food group (p=0/05, x2=10/22). Moreover, in the families with food security, the children’s average age was less than the families with food insecurity (P-value=0/03, t=-2/13). In 74.5% of the mothers, the amount of the received support was found to be high. Logistic regression showed a relatively insignificant and positive relationship (OR=1/02 and p=0/002) between the received support and food security from the mothers' point of view. Conclusion: Considering the insignificant relationship between household food security and the mothers’ received social support, other factors related to food insecurity, e.g. perceived social support and received social support in families aided by social service organizations should be explored. This text aims to demonstrate the contribution of working-class mothers to supporting their children at school and the social factors that determine the effectiveness of the practices these mothers adopt in their efforts. The mothers' involvement in education is a complex and demanding work. It entails practices directly related to schooling, such as communication with teachers and daily homework management, as well as out-of-school time management for their children in relation to other organized activities (educational, sports, cultural) they may attend. These practices create a distinct educational context that runs in parallel with the educational context of the school. However, mothers do not share the same perceptions and practices. On the contrary, there are differences identified among them, which are directly associated with financial ability and, most importantly, the educational level of the mothers, who seem to be the family member responsible for making decisions in respect with children's education. Purpose: Black families face disproportionate rates of poor health outcomes, including low rates of breastfeeding initiation and duration. Some Black mothers make the decision to breastfeed their child beyond infancy and report positive experiences. Understanding their backgrounds, motivations, and characteristics of their breastfeeding experiences may provide insight into what factors facilitate achievement of long-term breastfeeding for Black mothers. Study Design and Methods: Surveys were deployed through a variety of methods including social media and emails to organizations that work with breastfeeding families. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze survey data and the open-ended question was analyzed using a word cloud program. Results: Surveys were completed by 194 eligible mothers. Participants had a mean age of 31 years (range: 19-50). Mean breastfeeding duration of their currently breastfed and youngest child was 21 months (median: 19.5, range: 12-57). Primary reasons for breastfeeding beyond infancy included child wants to cuddle (28.9%) and child is tired (24.7%). Fifty-seven percent of participants reported that their child breastfed three to six times per day and 57.2% reported that their child woke up at least two times per night to feed. Clinical Implications: Nurses are uniquely positioned to provide anticipatory guidance, resources, and support to breastfeeding parents. Just over half of the mothers in this study had not planned to breastfeed beyond 12 months at the start of their lactation journey. Nurses who work with breastfeeding families could be instrumental in providing resources, support, and tangible assistance for families who may consider breastfeeding beyond 1 year.
