Lcx 99% 2.5x12 3 x 18 16 20 P O ST E R A B ST R A C T S Results: First phase comprised 120 subjects, second phase 80 and third phase 56 subjects. Mean age was 53 (45-61) years. Mean BMI was 28.35 3.59 kg/m. After one month 22 (27.5%) of the subjects had acute stress disorder (ASD) and 13.8% had major depressive disorder (MDD). After six months 15 (37.5%) subjects had PTSD and 12 (27.3%) had MDD. Alcohol consumption showed to be predictive for development of MDD in the second phase (P1⁄40.002, OR1⁄42.48), while physical inactivity showed to be predictive for the development of comorbidity of MDD and ASD in the second phase (P1⁄40.036, OR1⁄4100.00). Conclusion: Our results showed that cardiovascular disorders can cause anxious and depressive disorders among frequent alcohol consumers and physically inactive individuals. So, depression, anxiety, physical inactivity, and alcohol consumption cannot only be considered as risk factors for cardiovascular disorders, but should also be regarded as a consequence of cardiovascular disorders. Retinal arteriolar dilatation in response to a flicker light stimulus is attenuated in CAD patients. The capacity of retinal arterioles to dilate appears to be an independent predictor of the presence of CAD and suggests that endothelial dysfunction in the retinal microcirculation is a marker for underlying CAD. Further evaluation is warranted to determine the utility of dynamic retinal vascular assessment in predicting cardiovascular events. Background

Methods:Cardiology and renal patients scheduled for a non-urgent contrast enhanced procedure and who were eligible for intravenous bicarbonate administration per Austin health guidelines to prevent CIN were invited to participate. Residual interventricular communicationwas echocardiographicallydetected in12patients (37.5%)postoperatively. Among them, 2patients required re-closurewithin 30days and5patients in laterperiod.Preoperativehaemodynamic instability was a risk factor for early mortality (p< 0.001). One-year, 5-year and 10-year survival was 69.8%, 64.8% and54.0%, respectively.Residual interventricular communication was a significant risk factor to survival in the late period (p< 0.05). Conclusions: Surgical intervention is particularly important for patient survival in post-infarction VSR. Objectives This study sought to assess the impact of baseline left ventricular (LV) outflow, LV ejection fraction (LVEF), and transvalvular gradient on outcomes following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS). Background Low flow (i.e., reduced stroke volume index [SVi]) can occur with both reduced and preserved LVEF. Low flow is often associated with low gradient despite severe stenosis and with worse outcomes following surgical aortic valve replacement. However, there are few data about the impact of low flow on outcomes following TAVR. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical, Doppler-echocardiographic, and outcome data prospectively collected in 639 patients who underwent TAVR for symptomatic severe AS in 2 Canadian centers. Results In this cohort, 334 (52.3%) patients had a low flow (SVi 2 ) and these patients had increased 30-day mortality (11.4 vs. 5.9%, p = 0.01), 2-year all-cause mortality (35.3 vs. 30.9%, p = 0.005), and 2-year cardiovascular mortality (25.7 vs. 16.8%, p = 0.01) compared with patients with normal flow. Reduced flow was an independent predictor of 30-day mortality (odds ratio: 1.94, p = 0.026), cumulative all-cause mortality (hazard ratio: 1.27 per 10 ml/m² SVi decrease, p = 0.016), and cumulative cardiovascular mortality (hazard ratio: 1.29 per 10 ml/m² decrease, p = 0.04). Despite significant association in univariable analyses, low LVEF and low mean gradient were not found to be independent predictors of outcomes in multivariable analyses. Conclusions Low flow but not low LVEF or low gradient is an independent predictor of early and late mortality following TAVR in high-risk patients with severe AS. SVi should be integrated in the risk stratification process of these patients.
