This work presents the results of the investigation of trust to banks in European Union as well as in Ukraine. The special focus was on relevant documents that describe the strategic directions of the Ukrainian banking system’s future development in the context of restoring trust to banks. Furthermore, some of the quantitative results of the authors’ previous publications are summarized, as they may prove valuable in the study of the subject. The authors concluded that the recent crisis is a stark reminder that banking functioning based on trusting. The dramatic changes in the banking environment brought about by financial innovation and technological progress have not diminished the role of trust in banking. Any lack of trust significantly impairs the functioning of the banking sector and prevents banks from contributing to economic growth.

Objective Epratuzumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets CD22, modulates B cell signaling without substantial reductions in the number of B cells. The aim of this study was to report the results of 2 phase III multicenter randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trials, the EMBODY 1 and EMBODY 2 trials, assessing the efficacy and safety of epratuzumab in patients with moderately to severely active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods Patients met ≥4 of the American College of Rheumatology revised classification criteria for SLE, were positive for antinuclear antibodies and/or anti–double‐stranded DNA antibodies, had an SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K) score of ≥6 (increased disease activity), had British Isles Lupus Assessment Group 2004 index (BILAG‐2004) scores of grade A (severe disease activity) in ≥1 body system or grade B (moderate disease activity) in ≥2 body systems (in the mucocutaneous, musculoskeletal, or cardiorespiratory domains), and were receiving standard therapy, including mandatory treatment with corticosteroids (5–60 mg/day). BILAG‐2004 grade A scores in the renal and central nervous system domains were excluded. Patients were randomized 1:1:1 to receive either placebo, epratuzumab 600 mg every week, or epratuzumab 1,200 mg every other week, with infusions delivered for the first 4 weeks of each 12‐week dosing cycle, for 4 cycles. Patients across all 3 treatment groups also continued with their standard therapy. The primary end point was the response rate at week 48 according to the BILAG‐based Combined Lupus Assessment (BICLA) definition, requiring improvement in the BILAG‐2004 score, no worsening in the BILAG‐2004 score, SLEDAI‐2K score, or physician's global assessment of disease activity, and no disallowed changes in concomitant medications. Patients who discontinued the study medication were classified as nonresponders. Results In the EMBODY 1 and EMBODY 2 trials of epratuzumab, 793 patients and 791 patients, respectively, were randomized, 786 (99.1%) and 788 (99.6%), respectively, received study medication, and 528 (66.6%) and 533 (67.4%), respectively, completed the study. There was no statistically significant difference in the primary end point between the groups, with the week 48 BICLA response rates being similar between the epratuzumab groups and the placebo group (response rates ranging from 33.5% to 39.8%). No new safety signals were identified. Conclusion In patients with moderate or severely active SLE, treatment with epratuzumab + standard therapy did not result in improvements in response rates over that observed in the placebo + standard therapy group.

Objectives: Rituximab (RTX) is a biological treatment used off-label in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This survey aimed to investigate the off-label use of RTX in Europe and compare the characteristics of patients receiving RTX with those receiving conventional therapy. Methods: Data on patients with SLE receiving RTX were taken from the International Registry for Biologics in SLE retrospective registry and complemented with data on patients with SLE treated with conventional therapy. For nationwide estimates of RTX use in patients with SLE, investigators were asked to provide data through case report forms (CRFs). Countries for which no data were submitted through CRFs, published literature and/or personal communication were used, and for European countries where no data were available, estimates were made on the assumption of similarities with neighbouring countries. Results: The estimated off-label use of RTX in Europe was 0.5%-1.5% of all patients with SLE. In comparison with patients with SLE on conventional therapy, patients treated with RTX had longer disease duration, higher disease activity and were more often treated with immunosuppressives. The most frequent organ manifestations for which either RTX or conventional therapy was initiated were lupus nephritis followed by musculoskeletal and haematological. The reason for treatment was, besides disease control, corticosteroid-sparing for patients treated with conventional therapy. Conclusions: RTX use for SLE in Europe is restrictive and appears to be used as a last resort in patients for whom other reasonable options have been exhausted.

Contains fulltext : 153534.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) INTRODUCTION: Adults with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) treated with haemodialysis experience mortality of between 15% and 20% each year. Effective interventions that improve health outcomes for long-term dialysis patients remain unproven. Novel and testable determinants of health in dialysis are needed. Nutrition and dietary patterns are potential factors influencing health in other health settings that warrant exploration in multinational studies in men and women treated with dialysis. We report the protocol of the "DIETary intake, death and hospitalisation in adults with end-stage kidney disease treated with HaemoDialysis (DIET-HD) study," a multinational prospective cohort study. DIET-HD will describe associations of nutrition and dietary patterns with major health outcomes for adults treated with dialysis in several countries. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: DIET-HD will recruit approximately 10,000 adults who have ESKD treated by clinics administered by a single dialysis provider in Argentina, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. Recruitment will take place between March 2014 and June 2015. The study has currently recruited 8000 participants who have completed baseline data. Nutritional intake and dietary patterns will be measured using the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA(2)LEN) food frequency questionnaire. The primary dietary exposures will be n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid consumption. The primary outcome will be cardiovascular mortality and secondary outcomes will be all-cause mortality, infection-related mortality and hospitalisation. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The study is approved by the relevant Ethics Committees in participating countries. All participants will provide written informed consent and be free to withdraw their data at any time. The findings of the study will be disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations and to participants via regular newsletters. We expect that the DIET-HD study will inform large pragmatic trials of nutrition or dietary interventions in the setting of advanced kidney disease.

Background: Although breast augmentation is a common intervention in esthetic surgery, there aren't enough reports evaluating accurately patients' satisfaction retrospectively. In a previous study, we evaluated the quality of life in patients undergoing esthetic surgery. In the present study, we split up the operative indication and examined the quality of life, self-esteem, and emotional stability after breast augmentation only. Methods: Seventy-three patients underwent esthetic breast augmentation (1995-2009) were included in the study. The testing instruments consisted of a self-developed indication specific questionnaire especially for breast augmentation and three widely used standardized questionnaires (FLZM, FPI-R, and the RSES), which can be compared to norm data. Results: Although expected by just 11 % preoperatively, an improved sexuality was stated by 71 % of the patients postoperatively. A very high percentage (74 %) of the participants declared a better quality of life overall. Both of these findings were parallel confirmed by the FLZM. We have recently shown that symbolic execution together with the implicit path enumeration technique can successfully be applied in the Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) analysis of programs. Symbolic execution offers a precise framework for program analysis and tracks complex program properties by analyzing single program paths in isolation. This path-wise program exploration of symbolic execution is, however, computationally expensive, which often prevents full symbolic analysis of larger applications: the number of paths in a program increases exponentially with the number of conditionals, a situation denoted as the path explosion problem. Therefore, for applying symbolic execution in the timing analysis of programs, we propose to use WCET analysis as a guidance for symbolic execution in order to avoid full symbolic coverage of the program. By focusing only on paths or program fragments that are relevant for WCET analysis, we keep the computational costs of symbolic execution low. Our WCET analysis also profits from the precise results derived via symbolic execution. In this article we describe how use-cases of symbolic execution are materialized in the r-TuBound toolchain and present new applications of WCET-guided symbolic execution for WCET analysis. The new applications of selective symbolic execution are based on reducing the effort of symbolic analysis by focusing only on relevant program fragments. By using partial symbolic program coverage obtained by selective symbolic execution, we improve the WCET analysis and keep the effort for symbolic execution low.
