Organizational resilience (OR) increases when the company has the ability to anticipate, plan, make decisions, and react quickly to changes and disruptions. Thus the company should focus on the creation and implementation of proactive and innovative solutions. Proactive processing of information requires modern technological solutions and new techniques used. The main focus of this study is to propose the best technique of Machine Learning (ML) in the context of accuracy for predicting the attributes of the organizational resilience potential. Based on the calculations, the research includes estimating them through the applications of regression and machine learning methods. The dataset is obtained from the results of the our survey based on the questionnaire consisting of 48 items mainly established on OR attributes formed on ISO 22316:2017 standard. Based on the outcomes of the study, it can be stated that the optimal technique in the context of accuracy for predicting the attributes of the organizational resilience potential is ensemble methods. The k-nearest neighbor (KNN) filtering-based data pre-processing technique for stacked ensemble classifier is used. The stacking is achieved with three base classifiers namely Random Forest (RF), Naive Bayes (NB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The chosen ensemble method should be implemented in an organization systemically according to the circle of innovation, and should support the quality of managerial decision-making process by increasing the accuracy of organizational resilience potential prediction, and indication of the importance of attributes and factors affecting the potential for organizational resilience. This paper investigates the usage of a systemic neutralized taxonomy for understanding human factors to foster a restorative culture when studying adverse events. The available studies supporting accident analysis from a system‐theoretic perspective with human factors‐based methods are grounded on error taxonomies and do not reinforce the non‐judgemental dimension that is encouraged by modern safety science. We propose a methodology to integrate the system‐theoretic accident analysis technique, Causal Analysis based on System Theory, with a neutralized taxonomy of human explanatory factors. The proposed methodology has been applied to an aviation accident involving a military aircraft and a glider. This case revealed various critical interactions among system components, which require dedicated safety recommendations that go beyond the identification of single points of failures and root causes, leading to a deeper understanding of socio‐technical orchestrations. Despite the use case in aviation, the proposed methodology remains suitable for various types of safety occurrences in diverse domains and industrial settings. Digital transformation has become something that organizations cannot ignore in the digital era. Furthermore, digital transformation is not an easy thing to do because so many organizations fail or do not meet the objectives of the organizations. According to a few surveys, the biggest obstacle to digital transformation is cultural issues in the organization. This current study was conducted in order to develop a competitive advantage model based on digital organizational culture, digital capability, digital innovation, and organizational resilience in the context of digital transformation. This study explores how digital capability, digital innovation, and organizational resilience as mediating roles between the digital organizational culture and competitive advantage. For data collection, the survey instrument was used to collect data from 239 respondents from various industries in Indonesia. The findings have revealed a significant connection between the digital organizational culture with digital capability. The research found that digital organizational culture and digital innovation are not significant because of mediating roles by digital capability. Moreover, the findings suggest some substantial implications for the management by focusing on digital organizational culture. This digital organizational culture will improve the capability of digital in an organization. Faced with increasingly severe environmental problems and environmental protection requirements, green entrepreneurial orientation is considered a key strategy to guide environmental protection practices. With the increasing emphasis on green entrepreneurial orientation, the driving factors have also triggered considerations of scholars. This paper conducted a survey on manufacturing start-ups in various regions of China through online questionnaires and offline paper questionnaires, and a total of 178 valid questionnaires were obtained. Then, the data analysis is conducted through Fuzzy Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), so as to discuss the influence of configuration effects of the five driving factors (entrepreneurial calling, priori knowledge, organizational resilience, customer demand, and competitive pressure) on green entrepreneurial orientation. It is found that green entrepreneurial orientation is determined by the interaction of various factors, instead of a single one. There is a mutual substitution effect between high customer demand and high competitive pressure in the two configurations generating high green entrepreneurial orientation where organizational resilience is the core condition. High-level or non-high-level green entrepreneurial orientation can both be achieved through different combinations of the antecedents, and the configuration results are asymmetrical. Organizational resilience plays an essential role in improving green entrepreneurial orientation of manufacturing start-ups, while the lack of environmental factors is essential for developing non-high green entrepreneurial orientation. These findings enrich the literature on green entrepreneurial orientation and provide valuable inspiration for manufacturing start-ups. Introduction: Global climate change (CC) significantly impacts sustainable food systems and the agricultural sector, primarily through increasing adverse weather events. This study aims to explore the adaptation strategies farmers use to address these challenges and evaluate the effectiveness of climate-smart agricultural (CSA) practices on food performance. Methods: We collected data from 720 crop farmers located in three provinces of Pakistan using a random sampling method. To address potential biases, this study employed the endogenous switching regression (ESR) model. This model effectively addresses endogeneity and selection bias by considering both observable and unobservable characteristics. Results: Study findings indicate that CSA practices substantially enhance net farm returns, reduce volatility, and mitigate downside risks. The analysis also highlights key features affecting the acceptance of CSA practices, including higher education, age, climate information, and availability of agricultural extension services. Discussion: These insights are essential for policymakers, offering a framework for informed decision-making to tackle CC's effects on food production, improve living standards, and enhance global food security. There is broad consensus in academia and practice that organizational resilience is a critical factor for organizations to cope with crises. However, despite considerable theoretical progress, empirical knowledge on the dynamics of organizational resilience remains limited. To explore facilitators and consequences of organizational resilience with a holistic approach, we report results of a mixed-methods multi-study throughout an ongoing crisis within the Pakistani textile industry. Qualitative findings indicate a broad set of organizational resilience facilitators, differentiated in respect to their content and temporal properties. Quantitative findings from longitudinal survey data suggest the pivotal importance of "soft" facilitators related to employee focus and learning orientation. In terms of consequences, results show that organizational resilience can reduce emotional exhaustion and contribute to business success. Overall, the findings are consistent with an integral understanding of organizational resilience as a meta-capability, building on a set of facilitators occurring at different time points throughout a crisis. This seminal study explores systemic sustainability within the Industry 5.0 paradigm, using the strategic lens of geoanthropology to shape the emerging concept of Industry 6.0. A transdisciplinary approach is adopted, integrating geoanthropological insights into the analysis of the Italian ceramic district. Seven key factors are considered: resource consumption, production dynamics, innovation, environmental impact, social impact, market dynamics, and economic impact. Historical events such as changes in Italian industrial policy, market slowdowns, and the COVID-19 pandemic are identified as significant for the sector. A contingent analysis tailored to the unique characteristics of the ceramic district provides an in-depth understanding of its challenges and opportunities. The incorporation of geoanthropology provides a transdisciplinary perspective that allows for an in-depth examination of the complex interactions between people and their environment in an industrial setting. The study highlights the central role of innovation, digitalization, and government policies in driving positive changes in production efficiency, market dynamics, and economic impact. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including the delicate balance between environmental sustainability and resource consumption, as well as the effective management of the social impacts of digitization. To address these challenges, a systemic sustainability index derived from geoanthropological insights is proposed as a pragmatic tool to measure and guide the development of sustainability initiatives in the ceramic district. The results of this study not only pave the way for new horizons in sustainability assessment but also provide valuable insights for industrial district managers to formulate strategies that foster organizational flexibility and resilience. Purpose: Digital technologies over time are becoming increasingly pervasive and relatively affordable, finding a large diffusion in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) also for internationalization purposes. However, less is known about the specific mechanisms by which this can be achieved. Specifically, we focus on how SMEs can face the international environment, leveraging digital technologies and thanks to their intellectual capital (IC). Design/methodology/approach: We analyze the relationship between digital technologies and the internationalization of SMEs, exploring the mediating role of IC in its three dimensions: human, relational and innovation capital, and assessing the possible moderating effects posed by international institutional conditions, specifically the Sino-US trade frictions. The relationships are tested using a sample of companies listed on China's A-share Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) from 2010 to 2021. Findings: Digital technologies help to internationalize SMEs. However, this positive relationship is affected (mediated) by the presence of an already consolidated IC. In addition, the institutional conditions of the international market, such as the Sino-US trade friction, moderate the components of IC differently. Specifically, the overall mediating effect of human and relational capital is boosted, while this does not happen for innovation capital. Originality/value: First, this study contributes to the literature on organizational resilience, especially digital resilience, confirming its validity in the context of internationalization and, in particular, those processes adopted by SMEs. Second, we clarify the mechanisms through which digital technologies exert their impact on the process of internationalization and in particular the prominent necessity of having IC. Within the dynamic, complex, and often safety-critical operations of many process industries, the integration of technology and human elements has given rise to sociotechnical systems (STSs), where the interaction between people and technology plays a pivotal role. To thrive in this complex environment, organizations must adopt adaptive error management strategies and cultivate organizational resilience. This approach involves managing the unexpected and designing systems to embrace disorder by organizational learning from errors in STSs. The main objective of this article was to present empirical data of error-causing elements in STSs based on the Dirty Dozen concept, their underlying structure, and implications for error causation screening and adaptive error management systems. A sample of 544 workers employed in seven process industries, such as automotive, chemicals, defense, metal, and timber, participated in this study. The results revealed a three-factor model of human error causation in STSs. Based on these results, an adaptive error management system (AEMS), which includes evidence-based interventions to manage causes of human errors and mitigate their risky consequences, was presented. University-based centers and institutes can play an important role in facilitating community-based, inter- and transdisciplinary research, and providing the capacity and expertise to address pressing issues. However, many centers and institutes face challenges related to long-term stability and resilience. In this paper we share recommendations on how to support centers and institutes that focus on food systems transformation. We drew these recommendations from insights and stories shared by leaders of nine diverse centers and institutes that participate in the Inter-Institutional Network for Food, Agriculture, and Sustainability (INFAS). We discuss how they are structured, the work they have done, and the benefits of that work, as well as the challenges they have faced and what they recommend for addressing those challenges. Their primary challenges include cultivating the support of university administrators and faculty, hiring and retaining supportive faculty, and securing sustainable funding. We provide a diverse range of recommendations to address each of these challenges, with the hope that other centers and institutes can find some that will be relevant to their particular institutional, social, and political contexts. Introduction: This paper explores organizational resilience by applying the theory of social embeddedness of thriving at work from the positive organizational psychology research through a cross-case comparison of five schools involved in improvement work during the pandemic. Methods: Using document analysis, observation, and interviews, this study is framed through the literature on workplace stress in schools under pressure and argues that schools with limited resources, such as schools in need of improvement, need to rethink how educators spend time together to improve together if we hope to retain thriving (energetic, motivated, and cognitively engaged) educators. Findings: The findings focus on collective thriving as demonstrated through the work behaviors embedded in equity-focused improvement in teams (Design Improvement). We explore what collective thriving looks like in two of the five schools, including a discussion of the resources produced from the equity-centered continuous improvement work that supports thriving. Lastly, we provide a comparative analysis of the contextual factors that led to these two schools thriving during this time, as compared to other schools in their cohort. Discussion: The two schools collectively thrived during the 2020-21 schools year through (a) a systematic approach with common, transparent routines, and (b) inclusive social learning through collective and multiple perspectives. This literature review examines the process of building organizational resilience among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the creative fashion industry, specifically within the context of the fashion batik sector in Pekalongan. The study identifies the challenges encountered by SMEs in this industry, including limited access to capital, technological barriers, intense competition, changing consumer preferences, and sustainability issues. To address these challenges, the review presents strategies and best practices for enhancing organizational resilience. These strategies include diversifying and strengthening financial resources, embracing technology and innovation, enhancing market positioning and branding, fostering collaborative networks, strengthening supply chain management, investing in human capital, embracing sustainable practices, and engaging with the local community and tourism sector. The review highlights the importance of a supportive ecosystem, which includes government support, industry associations, and educational institutions, in implementing these strategies effectively. By implementing these strategies, SMEs in the creative fashion industry can overcome challenges, enhance their resilience, and sustain long-term growth and success. The findings of this review provide a roadmap for SMEs in Pekalongan and similar contexts to navigate the competitive fashion batik industry and build resilience, contributing to the overall competitiveness and sustainability of the industry. This study is the first to comprehensively investigate the impact mechanism of organizational resilience on the sustainable competitive advantage of enterprises based on dynamic capability theory, social network theory, and resource dependence theory. It systematically analyzes the multidimensional effects of organizational resilience and reveals the moderating effect of the network digital atmosphere and environmental dynamism on strategic capabilities. Herein, six basic hypotheses and 19 sub-hypotheses are proposed. Through the analyses of 386 valid questionnaires in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, the results show that organizational resilience has a positive impact on the sustainable competitive advantage of enterprises, and strategic capability plays a mediating role through two dimensions, which are strategic formulation capability and resource integration capability. In addition, the network digital atmosphere and environmental dynamics regulate the relationship between organizational resilience and strategic capability in different dimensions. The research results provide empirical support for strengthening corporate strategic capabilities, responding to environmental changes, maintaining competitive advantages, and achieving the sustainable development of enterprises. Intricate and challenging environments profoundly impact enterprise development. Consequently, enhancing organisational resilience (OR) has emerged as a pressing concern. To demystify this, we draw on dynamic capability theory and employ fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to investigate how digital innovation (DI) synergistically configures across R&D, Production, and Scene dimensions to bolster OR over distinct periods. Focusing on 73 Chinese ‘specialized, refined, differentiated, and innovative’ (SRDI) SMEs, results show that (1) the single DI dimension is not necessary for OR, and the multi-dimensional DI synergy effectively enhances OR. (2) In each period, there are three equivalent DI configurations to improve OR. (3) In multi-period comparative analysis, DI configuration with R&D, Production, and Scene as constant core conditions manifests ‘turning trajectory’, ‘expansion trajectory’, and ‘transition trajectory’, respectively, in enhancing OR. This study expands the research perspective on SRDI SMEs and provides new theoretical and practical ideas for rationally configuring DI synergy across different periods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Over the years, ETSI, the prime European standard-setter for ICT standards, has experienced significant critique about its legitimacy, including more recently by the European Commission in the 2022 Standardization Strategy, which focused on the alleged deficiencies of its global participation model. Despite potential missteps in certain instances, ETSI has overall addressed such critique with remarkable success. In this article, we argue that this occurred thanks to various strategies that ETSI used to sustain its organizational resilience over the years. In regard to its interaction with its de facto controller, the European Commission, we argue that ETSI had recourse to three key resilience strategies: one where ETSI took a hard stance resisting to the Commission's desires (contestation), one where ETSI intentionally succumbed to the Commission's desires or preferences (orchestration), and one where ETSI opted for a reconciliatory approach to achieve commonly set objectives serving the mutual interest (collaboration). Interestingly, such strategies were not only resilience-enhancing, but also legitimacy-conducive. This article contributes to two different strings of academic literature relating to organizational resilience, on the one hand, and institutional legitimacy, on the other, by combining them in a manner that, to the best of our knowledge, had not been done before in the relevant literature. Through a detailed examination of the case studies affecting the general public and ethical considerations, the research unravels the intricacies of public administrators’ ethical dilemmas, concluding with reflections on the implications for public service ethics, integrity, and public trust. The study not only elucidates the symbiotic relationship between adaptive leadership and ethics in fostering organizational resilience but also charts a course for future policy formulation and leadership training programs, underscoring the indispensable role of ethical governance in navigating crises.This study investigates how leaders in government organizations best handle tricky situations like natural disasters. Adaptive leadership, which is flexible and encourages learning, is essential, especially when quick and innovative responses are necessary. For instance, after the disasters of bushfires in Australia or earthquakes in New Zealand, leaders who used this style were more successful in preparing for, managing, and recovering. This was partly due to their ethical approach, which focuses on fairness, transparency, and working for the common good.Ethical leadership is crucial because it builds trust within the community, which is especially important during crises. Leaders who communicate effectively, listen to the community, and engage with people’s concerns make better decisions for everyone involved. This study extends the communication theory of resilience (CTR) by examining social networks that facilitate resilience for refugee-oriented humanitarian organizations (ROHOs). This study draws on a network survey and interviews from ROHOs in the United States and South Korea during the height of coronavirus disease 2019. Results illuminate how refugees, generally seen as the subject of concern, become engaged in networks with organizations to facilitate organizational resilience. A close inspection of the nature of interorganizational relationships revealed that resilience was a function of ties that involved engaged communication and not simply transactional relationships. This article shows how organizational resilience is facilitated when the people are engaged as part of organizational networks: networks cutting across systems to organizations to the vulnerable constituents, themselves. The study advances prior research on organizational resilience by specifying what it means to leverage social networks for organizational stability, which has direct implications for the policy and organizational systems. The threat of deportation is a common experience shared by migrants around the world. Migrant-serving nonprofit organizations must also contend with these threats. While there is considerable research on how nonprofits serve migrants, there is a lack of research that explores what mass deportation threats may mean for nonprofits actors and their work. In order to address this gap, this study explores the case of the Dominican Republic where there was widespread fear that mass removals would occur after the closing of the National Regularization Plan for Foreigners on June 17, 2015. Using semi-structured interviews with 20 nonprofit actors from Haitian-migrant serving organizations, a qualitative content analysis reveals three main themes that capture how nonprofits perceived and pursued opportunities from the threat of deportation. They include the opportunity to grow, the opportunity to advocate, and the opportunity to learn and educate. This research is important for shedding light on the organizational resilience of migrant-serving nonprofits in the Dominican Republic and offers insight into how policies might be developed to support nonprofits as they address migration policies in their work. "Resilience" is the ability to recover from the effects of a disaster or accident. Companies are expected to be resilient against accidents and disasters; however, at present no method comprehensively evaluates corporate resilience. This study examines some models of organizational resilience already published as a preparation for developing such an evaluation method. This study examines the "Organizational Resilience Index" developed by the British Standards Institution to assess whether it comprehensively covers the factors that contribute to corporate resilience. This study compares these with cases of past disasters and accidents. The results suggest that the following six factors are not explicitly covered by the Organizational Resilience Index: (1) attitude toward fulfilling responsibilities to customers, (2) external cooperation/assistance, (3) prompt decision-making and action, (4) practitioners empowered with discretion, (5) loyalty of employees to the company, and (6) a never-give-up attitude. Although this cannot be considered a definitive conclusion because of the various forms of subjectivity involved in the examination process, this study identifies factors that should be considered while developing a model that comprehensively includes factors that contribute to corporate resilience. As a preparation for developing such an evaluation method, this study examines the 13 Resilience Indicators developed by "Resilient Organisations" as one of the models for organizational resilience to assess whether it comprehensively covers the factors that contribute to corporate resilience. This study compares the indicators with past accidents and disaster cases. Consequently, the study determined that the 13 Resilience Indicators do not explicitly cover the following four factors: (1) risk diversification related to external resources such as suppliers, (2) prompt decision-making and action, (3) countermeasures to protect corporate reputation, and (4) a never-give-up attitude. It cannot be said that this is a definitive conclusion, as subjectivity intervenes in various ways in the examination process. Big data analytics capabilities (BDACs) are strategic capabilities that expedite decision-making processes, empowering organizations to mitigate the impacts of supply chain disruptions. These capabilities enhance the ability of companies to be more proactive in detecting and predicting disruptive events, increasing their resilience. This study analyzed the effects BDACs have on firms' reaction time and the effects companies' reaction time has on their resilience. The research model was assessed with 263 responses from a survey with professionals of auto-parts companies in Brazil. Data were analyzed with the Partial-Least-Squares—Structural Equation Modeling method. Cluster analysis techniques were also applied. This study found that BDACs reduce reaction time, which, in turn, improves firms' resilience. We also observed greater effects in first-tier and in companies with longer Industry 4.0 journeys, opening further perspectives to investigate the complex mediations of digital readiness, reaction time, and organizational resilience performance of firms and supply chains. Our research builds upon the dynamic capabilities theory and identifies BDACs as dynamic capabilities with the potential to enhance resilience by reducing data, analytical, and decision latencies, which are recognized as core elements of the reaction time concept, which is particularly crucial during disruptive supply chain events. Family farms are central to the American agricultural economy and vital inputs to the prosperity and sustainably of rural communities. Yet, the resiliency of these farms is threatened by uncertainties associated with intergenerational leadership succession. The current study used a set of theoretical constructs from Rogers's (2003) Innovation Diffusion Model (centralization, formalization, interconnectedness, organizational slack, size) to guide a qualitative exploration of the implications of intergenerational leadership dynamics on the organizational innovativeness of six family farms in California's San Joaquin Valley. Three themes emerged across all six farms that bring nuance and complexity to the understanding of organizational innovativeness and intergenerational leadership dynamics within family farms. The ways in which a common understanding of environmental challenges is established among nonprofit leaders are not clearly presented in the literature, despite the importance of such understanding as an antecedent of organizational resilience. In response to this research gap, this paper seeks to identify how such an alignment is facilitated. We use a qualitative research approach and investigate seven international nonprofit organizations whose leadership is aligned on environmental challenges. The data collection is twofold. First, leaders of these organizations, being the board chair, one board member, and the managerial executive, respond to closed and open‐ended survey questions. Second, we analyze organizational documents of the participating nonprofits. This includes for example their bylaws, codes of conduct, and strategic plans. Our results indicate that transparency, clarity, flexibility, and quality relationships among the leadership are key interaction characteristics associated with leadership alignment. Good board chair leadership and board gender balance are crucial personal characteristics. Social enterprises (SEs) are claimed to be able to address "wicked social problems1" in various policy instruments and governance models. However, doubts have been raised about whether the hybrid nature results in fundamental challenges that could prevent SEs from becoming ideal and sustainable public service organizations. Drawing upon organizational resilience literature, this article reveals two trade‐offs between social and business service qualities when SEs seek long‐term solutions to the challenges in delivering public services. This article argues that SEs—employing different hybrid models, emphasizing social or business service quality—jointly can overcome the trade‐offs to deliver sustainable and accountable public services at the public service contract level and the individual user's level. Understanding how charities have survived, and sometimes thrived, in the face of crisis has given rise to an increased interest in the resilience of these organizations. Research on dealing with uncertainty and crisis situations notes the ability to adapt as a critical resilience component (Siders, 2019). However, resilience and adaptive capacity in the charity sector are under‐researched areas. This paper contributes to filling this gap by investigating two midsized Scottish charitable organizations that have weathered two significant crises: austerity as a result of the financial crisis of 2008 and the COVID‐19 pandemic. The study findings enhance resilience research by shedding light on the processes, actions and collaborations that facilitate resilience, and the importance of adaptive capacity in response to crisis. Two distinct approaches to resilience were identified: (1) a strategic approach to resilience, where the charity thrived in the face of crisis and demonstrated high levels of adaptive capacity, and (2) a pragmatic approach, where resilience equated to survival, adaptive capacity was low and, as a result, growth was limited. This paper examines the challenges posed to third sector organizations by major external crises that from time to time beset national and global communities. In so doing, it unpacks the multiple characteristics and complexities of concepts and related issues involved in organizational crisis management and resilience. This reveals the importance of shared sensemaking, issue identification, response types and implementation, organizational coping and adaptation, exploiting strategic opportunities, and conditioners of organizational resilience. Related insights are drawn from selected empirical studies involving non‐profit organizational crisis responses to a range of major crisis events. This paper investigates the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic on U.K. third‐sector (nonprofit organizations and social enterprises) and socially oriented small‐ and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs), and provides insights regarding their organizational resilience. Using data from the Longitudinal Small Business Survey, the results of an extensive empirical analysis suggest that relative to commercial (for‐profit) SMEs, social enterprises were less likely, and socially oriented SMEs more likely to perceive the pandemic as an obstacle to business success. Third‐sector and socially oriented SMEs were more likely to increase their activities compared to commercial SMEs. Moreover, the COVID‐19 pandemic appears to have had a differential impact on the future plans of third‐sector and socially oriented SMEs relative to commercial SMEs. Third‐sector organizations were less likely to use government‐backed loans, suggesting a need for alternative forms of support or financing to weather economic disruptions. Overall, our analysis suggests a resiliency and versatility among third‐sector and socially oriented SMEs in dealing with unexpected and significant external shocks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractAmidst uncertain and disruptive environments, the significance of Organizational Resilience and Sustainability cannot be overstated, as they are crucial for businesses to thrive. By integrating sustainability and resilience practices into strategies, organizations can better navigate disruptive environments and position themselves for sustainable success. The aim of conducting a bibliometric study on organizational sustainability and resilience is to gather knowledge of the literature already written in these fields and spot trends, patterns, and research gaps. The present study sheds light on the four Organizational Resilience pillars: Preparedness, Responsiveness, Adaptability, and Learning. These pillars are crucial in enhancing an organization’s ability to withstand and recover from disruptive events. Using the Scopus Database, a comprehensive analysis was conducted on 120 documents that satisfied the inclusion criteria and were published between 2010 and 2022. Descriptive Statistical Analysis was employed to examine and comprehend the extent to which previous research has explored organizational resilience and sustainability within Business Management. Sustainability can guide the decision-making process of managers in obtaining competitive advantages. Incorporating sustainability criteria into the main managerial strategies of organizations generates long-term profitability. Using Structured Literature Review (SLR) as a research methodology we synthesize the characteristics and differences between financial performance and sustainability in the context of organizational resilience. Therefore, this paper offers a comprehensive structured literature review based on the relationship between the concepts of financial performance, sustainability, and organizational resilience, using research studies from four main databases: Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Springer. In carrying out this study, we identified the current trends in the specialized literature regarding the relationship between financial performance and sustainability in the context of organizational resilience as they were debated in the analysed literature, until the end of September 2023, in 116 papers.

Abstract In an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world, the importance of organizational resilience has grown, yet the scholarly literature on this topic remains fragmented. To address this gap, our study conducted a bibliometric analysis of 469 articles from the Scopus database using VOSViewer software to systematically review and map trends, gaps, and significant contributions in the field. Our analysis revealed key themes such as resilience, crisis management, innovation, COVID-19, dynamic capabilities, sustainability, and change management, which are crucial to understanding organizational resilience. The findings highlight that the United Kingdom and the University of Oulu are significant contributors to this research area, with notable authors including Duchek E., Martinelli E., Santoro G., Williams T.A., and Youssef C.M. playing a pivotal role in advancing this field. By providing a comprehensive overview of institutional affiliations, countries, authors, journals, publications, and keyword co-occurrences, our study not only maps the landscape of organizational resilience research but also identifies critical areas for future inquiry. This contribution enhances both theoretical and practical understandings of organizational resilience, aiding practitioners in developing robust strategies to navigate the challenges of the VUCA world.

Background This study aims to review the extant literature on talent management with the objective of influencing library and information management by addressing the key facets of talent management, such as talent management strategies, importance of career development, evaluation of talented employees, and organizational resilience. Methodology Literature on the development of talent and career management was retrieved from various scholarly papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science to have a meticulous literature review serving as the platform of the present study. In light of the authors’ observations, two models were developed. The literature provides precise information that talent management plays a decisive role in promoting organizational excellence invariably in all kinds of organizations in general and libraries in particular. Results This study provides constructive recommendations for the implementation of effective talent management and retention policies for library and information professionals. Moreover, this study adds immense value to the corpus of existing literature to set a platform for the augmentation of library management in futuristic vision. Conclusion This study provides constructive recommendations to policy makers and library administrators to foster talented employees for excelling library and information services for the next several decades.

In response to global compound risks, resilience has been incorporated into China’s national governance discourse. This paper presents a quantitative analysis of 88 central-level policies building resilience capacity in China, to refine policy design to address complex risks more effectively. A comprehensive two-dimensional “policy tool-application field” analysis framework is developed based on policy tool theory and employs bibliometrics and content analysis methods. By extracting 210 policy analysis units corresponding to 289 coding reference points, we unveil the structural characteristics, policy themes, and distribution of policy tools on resilience building at the central level. Results show a notable upward trend in policy publication, forming a multi-agency policy-making network. We observe an imbalance in the structure of policy tools, with a strong reliance on environment-based policy tools. Policy tools are configured across all application fields. Supply-based policy tools are primarily applied for environmental and technological resilience, while demand-based tools find greater utilization in economic and organizational resilience dimensions. However, there is a neglect of social resilience. This paper recommends integrating policy tools to bolster resilience in diverse fields, and how to assess risks and their dynamic adjustments in resilience building as a significant direction in the future. Resilience is an organizational capacity in day-to-day practice and crisis situation performance. A one of a kind crisis for hospitals is the COVID-19 pandemic. The long duration and magnitude of this crisis offers the opportunity to gain insight into the complexity of crisis management and organizational resilience of hospitals. This interview study therefore explored the organizational resilience of Dutch hospitals during the first 14 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nine board members of nine Dutch hospitals were interviewed by means of a semi-structured interview that was built on thirteen indicators of organizational resilience. The results showed that board members considered their hospitals as resilient on almost all indicators. Their judgments varied about how prepared and ready for future crises they considered their hospital. According to board members, hospitals are mainly prepared for "acute" short-term crises, thanks to good crisis leadership, open communication and strong networks. A crisis as long as the COVID-19 pandemic was unprecedented and therefore more difficult to deal with. In between the infection waves, work processes were reflected upon to learn, anticipate and respond more smoothly to successive waves. However, the enduring nature of the COVD-19 crisis presented complex organizational challenges. Crisis operations were eventually scaled down and hospitals had to manage the crisis and regular care as two companies side by side. Each crisis manifests differently. Fostering trust in healthcare staff and allowing them to act autonomously during crises, while diligently monitoring external influences and potential future crises, are therefore paramount in developing organizational adaptive capacities. Digital transformation, organizational resilience, and agility are now becoming key to meeting the competitive challenges of modern organizations. It is no surprise that digital transformation and digital technologies have also begun to significantly impact the energy industry, moving towards improving the sector's profitability and efficiency. However, to move the difficult process of digital transformation in today's dynamically changing environment, organizations, including those in the energy sector, need to build organizational resilience. Nevertheless, the relationship between digital transformation and organizational resilience has not yet been explained in a satisfactory and sufficient manner. Focusing on the level of digital transformation, and more precisely within the two dimensions of digital maturity, i.e., digital intensity and transformation management intensity, as well as based on the perspective of dynamic capabilities, this study developed a configurational framework and proposed a theoretical model to study the equifinal paths through which digital transformation and dynamic capabilities influence organizational resilience in energy sector companies. Based on a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA) conducted on selected companies in the energy sector, i.e., Polish CHP plants, the relationship among digital transformation, dynamic capabilities, and organizational resilience was investigated. The results show that a high level of organizational resilience is possible to achieve through two main paths based on the dominance of dynamic capabilities and the dominance of digital maturity.
