The modern educational space is permeated with elements of digitalization. Innovation has always been a challenge for the education system, a traditionally conservative cluster of socio-cultural activity. The peculiarity of the digital transformation of modern education is the totality of this process, covering educational and methodological, organizational, and scientific components. Under such conditions, the formation of contradictions in education between scientific and technological and humanities-science dimensions is obvious. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to identify current educational strategies with a clear prediction of trends in the relationship between digitalization and humanization. Two models for the further development of the educational space are proposed - confrontation and interaction at the level: of human-technology. In this context, it is methodologically acceptable to use two scientific-philosophical methodologies: dialectics and synergetic. Consequently, modern education is at a kind of bifurcation point since the coexistence of innovative technologies with traditional humanistic principles is no longer possible in the existing worldview paradigm. It is only a matter of time before a new system of the reciprocal influence of digital technologies on humanistic principles emerges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The abrupt transition to the distance learning format during the COVID-19 pandemic showed that the legal framework for regulating the introduction of new digital telecommunications technologies is largely lagging behind in educational organizations, and in some areas, in particular, related to the regulation of “remote” labor relations in higher education is completely absent. The lack of proper legal regulation leads not only to labor conflicts, but also to legal proceedings between students and universities. The article presents an incomplete list of documents (without disclosing their contents) that need to be developed or modified. The study proposes a roadmap that takes into account the parallel work with the constant coordination of the contents of the documents between the working groups. The authors conclude that trade union committees, student and teaching communities should take an active part in the development of documentation, since the proposed transformation of the educational process affects all participants of the educational process in universities without exception.

The article discusses the problems encountered during the transition to the distance learning format due to the introduction of quarantine measures for Covid-19. At the same time, it was the mass transition to a remote learning format that allowed us to determine the advantages and feel all the disadvantages of distance learning. Research methods. In this paper, we conducted sociological research in the form of a survey among parents of school leavers in Moscow. Students and teachers of the university of Ryazan on their satisfaction with the organization of distance learning, on the change in the level of academic load and on the possible consequences for the quality of education due to the transition to a remote learning format. According to the results of the study, problems of distance learning of a technical and organizational nature were identified, among which are: interruptions in the operation of online platforms due to overload; the lack of proper software for students, as well as the lack of direct face-to-face contact between students and the teacher; the requirement of strict self-discipline, motivation. The study made it possible to draw the conclusion that the distance form of education in its current implementation leads to a decrease in the quality of training of students of higher educational institutions and school students. To improve the effectiveness of distance education, it is necessary to intensify work on the development of new educational standards, on the application of new methods and tools of teaching.

Introduction. During the COVID-19 pandemic variety of digital tools and technologies were demonstrated owing to the global digitalization of education and the total transition to online learning. The purpose of present research is to determine factors of digitalization of education and their effect on transformation of social values among high school students in conditions of the COVID-19. The results of research on social values of students were considered using comparative analysis. It was revealed that the paradigm of values among young people changed from an individual-personal one at the beginning of the XXI century to the social oriented paradigm – tolerance, openness, public recognition through social networks, self-development and contribution to the community. Materials and Methods. The analysis of pedagogical experience in the field of digitalization of education allowed to formulate the main factors of global digitalization of education and to highlight positive and negative aspects of online learning. According to M. Rokich’s method, an empirical study of instrumental values transformations was carried out among 137 students of Ural Federal University in the conditions of full-time online learning. A questionnaire method was implemented to determine studentsʼ attitude to online learning during COVID-19 pandemic and possibility for further development of this form of learning. Results. It was revealed that only 13.7% of respondents did not notice any decrease in the quality of learning and did not experience discomfort in obtaining knowledge in online form. According to the studentsʼ opinion the values that are subjected to transformation are the following: efficiency, self-control, responsibility, honesty. It can be concluded that the era of network personality and new scientific knowledge in pedagogy has begun. Online learning is a fait accompli which requires scientific substantiation of a new didactics and social values system development among students in a digital education environment. Discussion and Conclusion. Achieved results contribute to ecological system of new digital services that change life and educational activities of a human, as well as transform his personality and values system. Thus, for the purpose of health and emotional intelligence preservation in students the continuation of interdisciplinary study of various aspects of education digitalization is required.

In 2016-2018 the state in Russia adopted a package of program documents, which implies the transfer of education to the large-scale introduction of digital technologies. This phenomenon has been called “digitalization of education”. In scientific literature, electronization and digitalization are increasingly called one of the institutional traps for the development of Russian universities, since the corresponding institutional environment has not yet been formed due to the forced nature of innovations. As a result, the processes of introducing new technologies into education are still not regulated. Within the framework of the purpose of the study, the manifestations of the trap of electronization and digitalization of Russian higher education were analyzed on the basis of sociological data, and the theoretical modeling of the process of adaptation of educational agents to the institution of digitalization was carried out.In the course of the study, the approaches were summarized that have been developed in discussions on educational digitalization. The article presents the author’s vision of the studied phenomenon as an institutional trap; as well as understanding of the institutional features and characteristics of electronization and digitalization in education. The research method is the analysis of estimates obtained in the course of an expert survey which was conducted by the Vologda Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences among the representatives of the teaching staff of state universities in the Vologda region. In the course of this analysis, the indicators of educational digitalization as an effective innovation were clarified such as an increased accessibility of educational resources; simplification of communication and the process of transferring knowledge from teacher to student; increased opportunities for training specialists for the new (digital) economy; improving the quality of education in universities, etc. Based on the results of the empirical study, it has been determined that the conditions for the development of digitalization in Russian universities are currently ambiguous, which is closely related to the level of competitiveness of the educational organization. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the presentation of an original matrix describing the process of university employees adaptation to the conditions of digital transformation of education. The matrix is proposed on the basis of a sociological analysis of the impact of the trap of electronization and digitalization on the activities of educational agents. The matrix can be taken into account in the practice of higher education management.

The urgent transition to distance education in March 2020 revitalized the debate on the influence of a new educational reality on the educational inequality. A study was performed to measure the relationship between the difficulties experienced by students during distance learning and their socioeconomic status. Data from a nationwide survey of students administered in late March — early April 2020 by a team of researchers from a few Russian universities was used as empirical basis of this study. Results demonstrate significant differences in obstacles faced by students from families with different levels of income. Students from low-income families were the most likely to have technical and self-regulation problems and to lack skills required for effective distance learning. Findings indicate the importance of finding system-level solutions to ensure equal opportunities for students in distance learning, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

- Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically accelerated the digitalization of education around the world. There has been a lot of recent research on university students' attitudes towards digital educational technologies (DET) in different countries, but much fewer studies examine how these attitudes change during the pandemic. The purpose of the present exploratory study is to compare the attitudes towards DET among Russian university students majoring in psychology before the start of the pandemic and at its different stages. A mixed method research design was used. The quantitative part of the study included The University Students' Attitudes toward DET Questionnaire developed by the authors, and the qualitative part of this study included percentage and thematic analyses of answers to additional multiple choice and open-ended questions. The main findings of the study confirm significant changes in attitudes towards DET at the very beginning of the pandemic, and their relative stabilization later. Additional analysis based on the literature review revealed that the advantages and disadvantages of DET listed by Russian university students and students from other countries, generally coincide. The data obtained will be useful in the development of digital competence among university students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Today the increasing level of technology in education requires corresponding skills from the teachers. However, they often do not have them. The purpose of the study is to explore the problem of digital competence of rising teachers and provide recommendations for its improvement. The study generally describes the widespread use of digital tools in the classroom, namely the current situation, barriers and prospects associated with it. The research was conducted using a digital questionnaire that was sent to respondents by e-mail. The survey involved 117 people: 85 university students and teachers. The results showed that today there is every reason to actively introduce digital technologies in educational institutions. Thus, 100% of the respondents have and can use various devices (smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc.); 74% of participants consider it appropriate to introduce digital tools into the educational process. However, only 31% of respondents believe that they have been properly trained in their educational institutions, which would allow them to apply the above technologies in the classroom. The research results can be of interest to those who develop plans for the digitalization of educational institutions, teachers, creators of digital tools and learning programs. This article describes both current problems and possible solutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article is aimed at understanding the revolutionary in meaning and “digital” in essence metamorphoses in education and the prospects for the emergence of a new educational network reality based on them. The focus of the discussion is not so much on digital innovations and transformations in education as such, but rather on the need to understand the possible prospects and results of these social network changes and modifications brought to life by the next stage of the digital revolution in education. It is proposed to include a wide range of network technologies and methodologies among the latest scientific and technological innovations taking into account the fact that the main focus of the work is on understanding the process / result of implementing the methodology of “digital twins” in education. Despite the fact that the latter is only at the beginning of its implementation in a broad educational context, the paper raises the question of the social consequences of implementing the methodology for constructing the latest network reality of “digital twins in education”, which has all the chances in the future to become a unique network of networks of “digital twins” of various social actors in education. The article discusses the managerial potential of developing and the difficulties of implementing the digital twin methodology, the expected effects of implementing the latter in education, and the socio-technological consequences of converting this technology into a new network educational reality in the Russian Federation.

This article presents a review of a textbook for universities which reflects classic and relevant knowledge about education — the basic social institution of the global world. The theoretical foundations for branch science, its history, subject matter and functions have been outlined in the textbook. This review details the specifics of the authors’ approach towards presenting the social knowledge about education development stages, while presenting a variety of theoretical directions and models in their dynamics — from their genesis and to the present day. The originality of the textbook is reflected not only in the research ideas, but also in the civic position of the authors, in them identifying the problems of international competition between education systems, as well as the most acute issues inherent to Russian education. The latter include susceptibility to ill-conceived reforms, a backward technical base, low social status of teachers, lacking teacher motivation at schools, unwillingness to solve emerging complex problems, an intergenerational cultural gap, and a low demand for scientific knowledge. The book contains the authors’ teaching materials for constructing the “Sociology of Education” training course, while offering a reliable glossary of scientific terms. The textbook will be in demand both for the process of educating college and postgraduate students, and within the professional sociological community.

The relevance of the study is due to the contradiction between the mass transition of the Russian system of higher education to the distance learning format and the insufficient willingness of participants in the educational process to work under the new requirements caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. Teachers, students and administrators of higher educational institutions in Russia have encountered a number of difficulties. Their analysis will highlight the objective and subjective factors of their occurrence and develop recommendations for the further organization of distance learning in its combination with the traditional format. The purpose of the study was to analyze the modern work experience in the remote format of one of the leading Russian universities – Kazan Federal University. On this basis, the article analyzes successes and problems of this process, shows the contradictions between traditional and distance learning, considers the main models of educational organization that involve traditional and remote learning formats using distance educational technologies. It is concluded that in the system of basic formal education at all levels and areas of training, distance learning can be considered as a form that complements and strengthens the social, pedagogical, organizational, psychological, and didactic potential of the traditional (face-to-face) educational format. The work comprehensively used the methods of theoretical (analysis, synthesis, systematization, comparison, etc.) and empirical (study of literature, conversation, questioning, observation) research.

Academic3 space in its different manifestations has been taking an honorable position in social structure from the earliest stages of the history of human civilization by systematizing multitude experiences of both external and internal world of humankind. At the same time, educational landscape was formulating the different ways of how to theorize about and interact with the world. Simultaneously, there was always combating with the alternative systems and, what is more, this struggle wasn’t necessarily intellectual or polemical. Little has changed in how society perceives academy and its functions in the era of accomplished digital revolution, including its role as an instrument of surveillance and social sorting – these two important elements of power. In this article, an attempt is taken to comprehend University – and speaking broadly academic space as such – as a special kind of social and political field used to perform surveillance and social control. On the example of colonial colleges in the USA, this article examines how University may serve as a surveillance mechanism on the one hand and as a mean of cultural transformation on the other hand, and what conclusions can be made regarding the present and the future of University in the digital era.

This article discusses the problems associated with the possible widespread introduction of distance learning in the practice of Russian higher education. The authors discuss and analyze in detail the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in comparison with the traditional contact learning, involving “live” communication between teacher and trainees. The paper states that the disadvantages of learning generally prevail over the advantages. It is concluded that distance learning can become predominant only in completely unique situations, in which “live” communication between people in general and teachers and students in particular, for one reason or another, should be minimized or even eliminated altogether.

Objective: to reveal the consequences of the transition to total distance education in the Russian higher education under self-isolation caused by the spread of the new coronavirus. Methods: qualitative methods, narrative analysis, in-depth interviews, included observation. Results: the process of transition to distance education with a view to combat the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Russia in 2020 is a unique example of simultaneous implementation of institutional and technological innovations. The analysis of this phenomenon requires using the ideas of institutional and evolutionary economic theory, as well as narrative economics and the Austrian school. To determine the main patterns of emergence and strengthening of institutional traps that arise under self-isolation in the higher education system, the authors analyzed the narratives and in-depth interviews of the main actors. In addition, a certain part of the conclusions is formulated based on the included observation of the authors as typical representatives of the higher education sphere. The conducted research allowed identifying the main patterns of the current total introduction of distance technologies in the Russian higher education. It is stated that institutional and technological evolution can lead to the selection and consolidation of inefficient institutions and technologies under the influence of increasing returns. The widespread introduction of distance education demonstrates its defects. Based on the analysis of the results of in-depth interviews, conclusions about the main institutional problems of the educational process digitalization are formulated. Distance education is not a full-fledged substitute for the traditional education, as it impedes the transfer of implicit knowledge, controland feedback during training, ambiguously influences the costs of educational activities, and does not allow relying on the reliability of information and communication technologies. Transition to distant education can be interpreted as a new stage of evoluton of the institutional trap of electronization and digitalization..Scientific novelty: consists in identifying the qualitative characteristics of the process of implementing total distance education while combating the spread of the new coronavirus infection in Russia.Practical significance: is determined by the need to understand the causes of inefficiency and aggravation of contradictions between different groups of actors in the field of education and science while combating the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

The temporality of the socio-technological transformations of industry 4.0 has exacerbated the problem of introducing and using digital technologies in the educational process. The development in this area is due to the presence of unique global challenges, the availability of digital devices, and the experience of distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the work, a statistical study was conducted aimed at establishing the average level of proficiency in the basic skills of independent search for information on the Internet. A classification of digital solutions is formulated, and an attempt is made to synthesize criteria for the successful integration of digital solutions into the educational process, the following groups are distinguished: organizational, auxiliary, structural, and specialized. Independent searching for information is considered an element of the educational process, which changes almost uncontrollably, unlike other solutions in the field of digitalization of education. The process of digitalization is presented as a set of four elements, the successful implementation of which will allow the effective implementation of digital technologies in the educational process. An element of digital infrastructure is highlighted; an element of organization, an element of integrating teachers into a new digital educational environment, and a student element. It is concluded that it is necessary to introduce courses of additional competencies dedicated to working with information; the idea of integrating master’s students into research aimed at solving modern global challenges with the help of digital technologies is proposed.

Problem and goal. Programs “Digital economy of the Russian Federation” and “Digitalization of education” prescribe the development of tools for the formation of an individual approach to each student. Currently, the tools of the organization of individual approach in the form of building an individual learning path are not perfect. Consider the modern aspects of the construction of personal trajectories of development of students, the selection of personal forms of control and reflection, personal goals and content of training. As the main tool for the organization of this approach, we propose to use a specially created system of automation of building personal trajectories of development of students. Methodology. To achieve the objectives the article describes the algorithm design of the system automating the selection of individual learning paths in basic stages. Methodical bases of differentiation and individualization of training, lists of documents obligatory for system start, and also basic principles of design of system are presented. Special attention is paid to the means of ensuring external and internal information security. Results. When following the stages of design, presented in the article, the system of automation of personal trajectories will have a basic set of necessary functions that will respond to the challenges formulated in the “Digitalization of education”. This system will simplify the work of teachers in terms of reducing the cost of building an individual trajectory. Conclusion. The application of the designed system will allow teachers to quickly and efficiently build individual educational trajectories for all their students, based on their individual capabilities and personal characteristics; for students and parents to access the constructed trajectory at a convenient time, perform tasks and monitor the learning process; for administration to see the learning process of each individual student and build analytical reports on the learning process.

The use of computers, internet, and smartphones in the learning and teaching process has become an irreversible fact. Information and communication technologies (ICT) are now one of the fundamental teaching resources and even one of the principal teaching environments. The widespread use of ICT stands in positive correlation to the growing number of studies on educational aspects of the use of new media in schooling. The dynamically growing number of publications in this field requires reflection on the directions of research in the intensely developing sub-discipline of education science, i.e. media pedagogy. The aim of the article is to explore the two dominant directions of research on didactic and upbringing aspects of ICT use in education. The text presents the assumptions and processes assigned to both the opportunity paradigm and the risk paradigm of media pedagogy. These paradigms clash, giving rise to research directed at positive or negative phenomena related to the digitalization of schooling and educational processes. The text is an attempt to draw attention not only to the development of media pedagogy, but also to methodological errors resulting from anchoring research to only one trend.

The correlation between traditional and MOODLE learning management system usage in the educational process of the maritime higher education institutions has been studied in the article. The need to find new digital tools was due to the current state of the educational system, which should become open to new trends, and exacerbated by the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Comparative analysis was chosen as the main research tool, which made it possible to conduct a comparative analysis of online and offline modes of implementation of the educational process in higher maritime educational institutions, as well as to determine the main advantages and disadvantages of the LMS MOODLE electronic platform. The collection of data was carried out using a Google questionnaire. The respondents had to answer 9 questions. The survey was conducted among students of the Maritime Academy of two age categories – from 18 to 30 years old and from 31 to 45 years old. Analysis of the questionnaire data allows us to conclude that students of the first age category have more developed digital competencies (87%) and easily switched to distance learning using the LMS MOODLE platform; however, in the second age category, more than 60% had no difficulties with online learning. In general, for applicants for higher education, working on the LMS MOODLE electronic platform has its advantages and may be one of the methodological tools for the implementation of the educational process. For applicants for higher maritime education, it is convenient both in terms of timing and availability for education. The weak side of the platform is the lack of opportunity for teachers to independently organize (without the technical support of the platform administrator) video lessons on LMS MOODLE in real time, which is one of the priority tasks for improving the educational process online. The next step in the development of online learning opportunities is to create opportunities for teachers to independently create online rooms for lectures and practical exercises in real time, as well as expand the possibilities for connecting cloud simulators to practice the practical skills and abilities of students of higher maritime educational institutions. Modern information and digital society impose new requirements for the preparation of master level students in the application and production of electronic publications and resources, as well as in the development of methods and means of information interaction in the process of implementing the capabilities of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the self-extraction and presentation of knowledge. The work aims at solving one of the problems of digitalization of education in the direction of training 44.04.01 "Pedagogical education" (in the master's program "Information and Communication Technologies in Education"). The leading method for studying this problem is the method of comparison and grouping, which allows us to identify the effectiveness of electronic educational materials and digital educational resources as components of the process of the digitalization of education in the preparation of master's degree graduates. We present a practical implementation of the process of digitalization of education in the training of masters in the master's program "Information and Communication Technologies in Education" at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Dagestan State Pedagogical University, where the main place is represented by the author's electronic educational materials on the subjects of the variable part of the main professional educational program (MPEP). The materials of this paper can be useful for the implementation of higher education MPEP under the conditions of digitalization of modern society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Modern education set priorities in the formation of a wide range of projective settings, the achievement of which, according to the developers of new education programs, including programs on physical development, will help to create a physically strong child having an individually-acceptable level of morphological development and motor preparedness, and ready for systematic assimilation of general educational programs in elementary school. The authors have incentives to answer the question: is there a direct or inverse linear relationship between preschoolers' physical and intellectual development, i.e. is the development of regulatory functions a consequence of the great physical activity. With all this, the technologization and digitalization of the surrounding developing subject-spatial environment of the preschooler is also a significant characteristic that determines their cognitive, as well as physical development. Based on the foregoing, the aim of the research is to study the dependence of preschoolers' physical development on the surrounding digital educational space. The leading method applied in the research is the questionnaire method; parents of one hundred 3-6-year-old preschool children were interviewed in preschool educational institutions of the city of Kazan. It allowed us to identify the tendency to advance children's development since modern parents give emphasis to cognitive activities, while less attention is paid to children's motor and physical development. The findings provided in the paper suggest that physical development and children's ability to regulate their behavior depends on the content of curricula aimed at educating parents and educational staff in order to increase children's readiness for schooling and healthy lifestyles, as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle; all this should not be negatively affected by digital educational space. SOCIOECONOMICS , *PROFESSIONAL education , *GRADUATES , *EDUCATION , *TECHNOLOGICAL innovations - Abstract
Global changes are taking place in society, leading to new socio-economic benchmarks. The process of socio-cultural, political and economic modernization of the country is connected with the transition to an innovative path of development in the conditions of digitalization. Accordingly, the importance of education is increasing at an accelerating rate, as it is the most important resource for the development of society, it occupies a special place in public life, determines the importance in social, economic, and scientific progress as a whole, contributes to the realization of the intellectual opportunities of any person. In the process of rapid changes in all spheres of life, special attention should be paid to the renewal of the content and quality of professional education on the basis of its innovative development. In this regard, the article is aimed at identifying the importance of a special role, the setting new tasks before the professional education system - the formation of a socially oriented personality with high quality of thinking, creative abilities on the basis of a gradual reorganization of the professional education process. Hence innovative professional education is a paradigm shift, a new pedagogy, and new educational innovative technologies focused on the development of creativity of specific subjects of educational interaction. At the same time, most pedagogical experts are convinced that if the "social order" of the State and society is aimed at the formation of a socially oriented personality, on development of the thinking, creative generation able to create and invent, it must be kept in mind, that when using only information, digital technologies as the basis of innovative development of education, "Social order" will not be executed, because in conditions of digitalization of education, a constant realization of only electronic means in the process of training contributes to the transformation of "socially oriented personality" into "network" one. The article describes the digitalization stages of secondary and higher education in the Russian Federation and considers the main risks that may be caused by this trend. Among the health risks, there are disorders of the musculoskeletal system, impaired brain development, nervous strain and sleep problems, skin and respiratory diseases. The following communicative risks prevail: the risk of weakening motivation to learn, empathy, leadership skills. The main risks in the field of information security are the risks associated with violation of confidentiality, integrity, accessibility, authenticity and non-repudiation of participants in the educational process. These negative consequences may become relevant with the widespread introduction of a unified digital educational environment. Their relevance is evidenced by a survey of teachers of secondary, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions of Russia, which was conducted in October-November 2019. It is noted that each type of risk is relevant and can cause negative consequences for participants in the educational process. The work also identified the advantages of digitalization of education, but they do not allow minimizing the identified risks. Based on the risks identified in the study, the main recommendations were formulated, which, with proper implementation, can avoid the negative impact on participants in the educational process. Such recommendations include, among other things, the use of distance technology for the needs of continuing education and elective classes. If it is necessary to conduct distance learning lessons, use electronic platforms that meet the requirements of integrated security, as well as develop the technology of "safe school Internet". DIGITAL technology , *EDUCATORS , *LEARNING , *HIGHER education , *STUDENT development - Abstract
The topic is relevant due to the existing contradiction between the widespread implementation of digital technologies into the educational process at all levels and stages, on the one hand, and the insufficient consideration of subsequent risks for educators and students, on the other hand. This statement raises the following question: what problems does digitalization cause for the learning process? The aim is to define and systemize the major problems (risks) for the system of higher education that occur in the context of digitalization. The research methods are empirical (polling, observation, interview) and theoretical (analysis, synthesis, generalization and systematization). The study shows that digitalization in education, information accessibility and the growing role of students' independent cognitive activity raise a number of new questions. All of them are oriented at formation and development of students' abilities and their preparedness to cognitive, communicative, value-based activity and continuous selfdevelopment. In this regard, digitalization requires revision of didactic foundations of the learning process. Means of online education provide a wide range of opportunities to strengthen the role of the learning process as part of the formal education system. However, these new forms cannot replace the "live" interaction between the participants of the learning process in the basic education system. Nevertheless online forms prevail in the system of extended learning, as well as the system of informal education. The findings of the investigation are of practical interest for education experts, college professors, school teachers and allow improving the learning process in the context of its digitalization. The article discusses the influence of Metamodern culture and digitalization of education on the transformation of the pedagogical understanding of learning process. The author relies on the post-postmodern age interpretations presented in the works of S. Abramson, M. Epstein, R. Eschelman, A. Kirby, J. Mensch, P. Samuels, L. Turner, T. Vermeulen and R. Van den Acker; the transdisciplinary (B. Nicholescu) and connectivist (D. Cormier, G. Siemens) approaches and international documents about the education development in a complex society. In the Metamodern epoch under the influence of the universal digitalization there have been signs indicating that the theory and practice of learning has gone beyond the enduring some pedagogical meanings. This is being manifested at the level of the spontaneous transformation of the main components of learning process; changes in the pedagogical thesaurus, the emergence of “hybrid” didactic theories. The author defines this phenomenon as the post-pedagogical syndrome of the digital age which is capable to disrupt the historical continuity of educational culture. The article talks about the lack of resources in modern pedagogical science to explain the realities of lifelong education as a part of the Digimodernism culture and to develop the truly innovative ways of teaching. The author has suggested that the creation of effective methods of teaching and self-education in the digital age is possible only in the case of rethinking and reassessment of basic didactic categories and concepts on a transdisciplinary basis, taking into account the pedagogical experience of the analogical era and preserving the continuity of humanitarian values and meanings. The author’s arguments and conclusions are addressed to supporters of the study of education on an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary basis.
