With the continuous development of informatization, digital video is increasing sharply every moment. Multimedia information represented by video streams has gradually become the main form of information media in the field of information processing. This paper proposes a method of directly extracting I-frames in the compressed domain, which overcomes the shortcomings of traditional video retrieval algorithms that decompress video files before processing. From the point of view of the scene, it discusses how to synthesize the scene summary using I frames to obtain the smallest computer-aided unit in the video. The new model promotes the information transformation of art design activities, provides excellent theoretical tools for the extension of digital network to art design, and creatively brews a digital network learning platform based on network sharing. The new model applies the advantages of computer technology to the design of art categories, promotes the sound and orderly development of art design, and improves the professional level of art designers and producers. The new model was tracked and analyzed by means of work research and judgment, and the results showed that the effect of computer-aided art design and production model design was significant.

The article focuses on the inclusion of the external image of a person in communication practices. The authors study variants of art activities aimed at adapting the existing external image of a person to various socio-cultural situations. Communicative practices of using art design in shaping the external image of a person are positioned as" flexible " image models recommended for communication in different communities. The external image of a person is considered as a means that provides instant information exchange between communicants of various social groups. The visual components of the external image of a person that affect the translation of socio-cultural information, such as clothing and hairstyle, are indicated. The methods of art design in modern culture are defined as creative, contributing to the formation of a visual image that participates in the unification of social groups. It is established that the methods of art design, in the context of designing the external image of a person, affect the purposeful formation and adaptation of an image that translates belonging to a social group. Based on the results of the research, recommendations are presented for the choice of art design methods in the process of designing the external image of a person, taking into account the communication goals of representatives of different social groups.

CliNCare is a digital educational game which aims to improve clinical reasoning skills in the delivery of nutrition care of third year dietetic students. From a game art point of view, it was important to decide on the graphical style that would be appealing to users and best support the achievement of the overall aim of the game by providing an authentic learning experience. Photorealism is a common art style applied to contemporary simulation games, however, we wanted to investigate the use of 3D cel-shading and 2D illustration as an alternative, more affordable art style and its ability to provide an engaging and authentic digital learning experience using design-based research principals. This paper discusses the reasoning behind art design choices made in the CliNCare game, presents findings on students feedback of the game fidelity, experience, and usability, as well as draw conclusions on art styles for future digital simulation games.

The diglyceryl phthalate epoxy resin contains a benzene ring in its molecular structure, and its molecular weight is small. In addition to the generality of epoxy resins, it also has the advantages of low viscosity, moderate reactivity, high adhesion, good compatibility, excellent electrical insulation and ultra-low temperature, and good weather resistance. It has good adhesion with carbon fiber, and it is suitable to make carbon fiber composite material. Based on this background, this article mainly focuses on the seat art design, and uses the wrapping method to analyze the preparation of the carbon fiber composite resin matrix. The optimal reaction conditions are determined by changing the reaction during the preparation of the thermoplastic resin matrix. / PA = 1.9, esterification time 120min, cyclization time 70min, reaction temperature 110 °C, amount of promoter water 6g, concentration of cyclizing agent sodium hydroxide solution 30%. The resin synthesized in this case is a light-yellow transparent liquid with an epoxy value of 0.51 (mol / 100g).

Summary Internet-connected clothing/textiles is a promising but underexplored option for future personalized health care. Here, we report a textile-based sensor (TS) system with art design for wearable biomonitoring and interacting over the Internet. The TS is capable of delivering a sensitivity up to 3.88 V/kPa for ambient tiny pressure sensing. Made of durable materials, the TS exhibits remarkable robustness after more than 80,000 cycles of continuous operation. A wireless biomonitoring system (WBS) has been developed for timely processing of the acquired human pulse wave signals, wirelessly transmitting and displaying the patient’s health data via an APP interface onto a smartphone. The WBS was used to effectively diagnose obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome during a whole night of sleep even with body movements. The textile-based wireless biomonitoring system represents a solid step toward constructing a body area network for personalized health care in the era of the Internet of Things.

Purpose: This study aims to present creative and original nail art design through ideas inspired by the formulation of minimalism and maximalism. Methods: For nail design production that utilizes minimalism and maximalism, we conducted both empirical and theoretical research through literature review and case studies. Moreover, through prior and empirical researches, photos were obtained for classifying and analyzing design cases that demonstrate how minimalism and maximalism are expressed. Result: Through analyzing design cases portraying the formulation of minimalism and maximalism, the works produced under the theme of a woman's life were selected and produced through the following stages: birth, growth, marriage, parenting, and twilight. Conclusion: This study confirms that nail design can be used as an important production material in the developmental and planning processes in various fields, because it is not limited to the nail art field but has become a trend in life. Furthermore, it can be used as a concept associated with various techniques and creative and original designs can be created through storytelling.

For the problem of parametric design of anisotropic curves and cambers in the practical application field of environmental landscape design, in this exploration, the modeling of design object is carried out through computer parametric technology. It is based on the information collection and data extraction of design object and the formulation of logical relationship between parametric variable factors related to design. For nonlinear systems, a necessary condition to judge parameters is proposed. This criterion is a natural extension of the PBH criterion, which makes it easy to identify the parameters of the pseudo-linear system in the generalized case, and avoids a lot of complex operations; at the same time, a parametric design method of dynamic environment landscape is proposed systematically. In the first order, second order, high order and generalized nonlinear model, the complete parametric optimization method of environmental landscape design is established. The [Formula: see text] search function in MATLAB optimization toolbox is used to solve the generalized nonlinear system. The performance of the algorithm is tested by the examples of pseudo velocity, pseudo velocity uniformity and parameter optimization of the parametric curve called by the software environment. The results show that system dynamic process to simulate the dynamic environmental changes in landscape design by using the optimized parameter method is faster than that by using the unoptimized method. Meanwhile, the optimization method in this exploration can reduce the amplitude of change when external factors interfere, which shows that the optimized parametric design model has better transient performance; the curve generated by calling the drawing function provided in this exploration is smoother when the number of drawing points is the same.

This paper discusses two pilot projects in Art and design education at the teacher training at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. In the second round of drafts for the new curriculum of Art and design digital knowledge is described as stretching from using simple digital resources to master and shape your own digital products. It is no longer limited to two dimensional visual modelling as previously drafted. This is in our view a new approach in a subject where making, tinkering and designing allows for explorations in both 2D and 3D. Given that we want to encourage the use of the digital together with the use of physical materials, the pilot case studies demonstrate the importance of bringing coding and the material aspects of tinkering, making, and creating into play. The BBC Micro:bit was used to make coding and mechanical control part of projects made with traditional material. Further research and development should be undertaken to bring such practices into classrooms in primary and lower secondary schools.

State-of-the art design methods for a stacker crane rail/wheel system use unrealistic load collectives. Therefore, the results of these design methods are often inaccurate. The BS EN 13001-3-3 introduces a more realistic load collective, called the contact force spectrum factor. However, in practice the contact force spectrum factor is difficult to compute, since all contact forces over the considered stacker crane's life cycle need to be known. One way to overcome this obstacle is to run a simulation. However, this approach is computationally expensive. Therefore, this paper introduces machine learning models for predicting the contact force spectrum factor. For data generation a simulation model is used. The presented machine learning models are compared to the standard approach for computing load collectives. In comparison to this standard approach the machine learning models' predictions are significantly more accurate. The presented results make it possible to predict realistic load collectives for the rail/wheel system of stacker cranes. Hence, with this paper's results the efficient application of the BS EN 13001-3-3 for stacker cranes becomes possible.

The article is devoted to the study of the basis for determining the methods of design - designing the interiors of the premises of cinemas in the style of postmodernism.The features of postmodernism in this context include humor, a combination of styles, vibrant colors, metaphor. On the basis of the studied data, the features and specific properties of the postmodernism style, the features of its use in the design of movie theater interiors, and the ideas of creating receptions are determined. The analysis used the possibilities of applying some of the three trends within the postmodern movement: marginal modernism; metaphorical, humorous, entertaining, gaming. Of the additional considered: deconstructive; non-authentic, eсlectic; parody. The primitivization of the use of classical forms with the activation of the cinemas indicated on the exterior is noted.The analysis of the premises of cinemas and the style of postmodernism was implemented. Among the mandatory elements there is a need for decoration in the postmodern style of the following movie theater premises: a cash register lobby with ticket rooms, an entrance lobby, a lobby or distribution lobbies, a buffet with utility rooms, sanitary facilities, a demonstration complex, an auditorium and a director’s office. З додаткових розглядалися: деконструктивний; неовернакулярний, еклектичний; пародійний. відзначено примітивізація використання класичних форм з активізацією вказаного на екстер'єрі кінотеатру.Проведено аналіз приміщень кінотеатрів і стилю постмодернізм.Серед обов’язкових приміщень є необхідність оформлення в стилі постмодернізм наступних приміщень кінотеатру: касовий вестибюль з приміщеннями кас, вхідний вестибюль, фойє або розподільні кулуари, буфет з підсобними приміщеннями, санітарні вузли, приміщення демонстраційного комплексу, глядацька зала, кабінет директора. Найбільшої уваги потребує цілісність інтер'єрів глядацькой зали, вхідного вестибюля та фойє. Проведено короткий історіографічний аналіз розвитку кінотеатрів, вимог до їх проектування. Наукова новизна: Визначено основні ідеї прийомів концептуального дизайн-проектування кінотеатру у стилі постмодернізм: гра стилістичними формулами; поєднання реального і умовно ігрового; гіперболізація, ефект спотворення об'єкта; гра з простором; трактування середовищної композиції як сцени; іронічне обігрування традицій, використання іронії другого рівня: ігри іронії, гри над іронією; гра жанровими моделями в певному історичному інтервалі.

The trend of initiating art design carrying wayang as the theme, is an attempt initiated by young generation that is worth-appreciated. However, the process of at design-making itself mostly does not genuinely pay attention to the essentials that each wayang figure has. Omitting or replacing one of the elements of Wayang Purwa could possibly change the values of wayang itself. This study is conducted to arrange a representative figure of Wayang Purwa, which is, Pandawa gagrak Surakarta as the principle of the design making without excluding the meanings and identities of the character. The method used in this study is qualitative, obtained from various references, such as; books, articles, and journals related to the Pandawa gagrak Surakarta figure, and interview with Bambang Suwarno, as a puppeteer as well as a leather wayang crafter. The result of this research is a reference of the Pandawa Lima and Gatotkaca figures design, as mostly used in various media.

In the context of current debates on access and participation in the visual arts, the nature of art discourse and the value of creative subjects within the curriculum, what impact do the existing requirements have on students, teachers and the broader arena of the visual arts? This article presents the findings-to-date of an ongoing pilot study which set out to explore these questions. Drawing on interviews with teachers and exam board representatives, and a review of student texts and exam board documents and resources, the study found that even though writing is only a minor part of what is an essentially practice-based subject, it was a source of significant concern and confusion. A marked disconnect was revealed between intent and practice, which in turn highlighted a series of underlying values and beliefs that seemed to further drive this disconnect. The study calls for a wider discussion of the way writing is framed, used, supported and assessed in the art & design classroom, and the need to ensure that any pedagogy and resources developed align with the values as well as curriculum of art & design. It also previews how strategies created in the context of developing more inclusive and flexible writing skills among curators and other art museum professionals may offer a useful model. The study is part of a larger investigation into the discourse/s of the visual arts, with a focus on issues of access and participation.

The Temperature-Stress Testing Machine (TSTM) is a powerful test setup that allows to holistically study several key performance characteristics of concrete from very early ages. In this paper, key features of existing TSTMs are first reviewed, together with their remaining drawbacks. On that basis, the paper provides insights into the detailed design of the new TSTM at The University of Queensland (UQ), including: efficient heat transfer and thermal regulating system, advanced deformation control and capturing devices and automatic control algorithm. Such detailed information on the design and performance of TSTM is aimed to address the current lack of such critical information, facilitating further improvements of TSTMs. Evidence demonstrating the reliability and repeatability of the new TSTM is also presented. Finally, to further demonstrate its capability, the paper presents several aspects of an on-going study at UQ utilising the new TSTM to study autogenous shrinkage under realistic temperature histories, thermal coefficients of expansion and contraction, tensile creep and zero-stress temperature, as well as their combined effects on early-age cracking risk of concrete structures. The resulting improved knowledge is expected to lead to better guidelines for effective crack control that will enable significant cost savings and more sustainable construction industry.

This article emphasizes approaches to design which are centered on democratic and disruptive practices. By focusing on artists and designers who embrace a critical edge of the discipline, it begins describinga few themes explored in the symposium Matters of Art & Design Education (MADE), at the Pennsylvania State University, and examines some of the theoretical horizons they point to. In the second part of the article, the author interviews the artist and designer Carlos Rosas, who helped develop, and is currently the Professsor in Charge of the IDS—Interdisciplinary Digital Studio program, a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program in the School of Visual Arts, at that prestigious research University. Some artists peel citrus fruits into a variety of elegant 2D shapes, depicting animals, plants, and cartoons. It is a creative art form, called Citrus Peeling Art. This art form follows the conservation principle, i.e., each shape must be created using one entire peel. Central to this art is finding optimal cut lines so that the citruses can be cut and unfolded into the desired shapes. However, it is extremely difficult for users to imagine and generate cuts for their desired shapes. To this end, we present a computational method for citrus peeling art designs. Our key insight is that instead of solving the difficult cut generation problem, we map a designed input shape onto a citrus in an attempt to cover the entire citrus and use the mapped boundary to generate the cut paths. Sometimes, a mapped shape is unable to completely cover a citrus. Consequently, we have developed five customized ways of interaction that are used to rectify the input shape so that it is suitable for citrus peeling art. The mapping process and user interactions are iteratively conducted to satisfy a user's design intentions. A large number of experiments, including a formative user study, demonstrate the capability and practicability of our method for peeling art design and construction.

This article analyses how Mastika magazine, one of the oldest and most established lifestyle magazines in Malaysia, framed the Malay interest throughout its 77 years of publication. The study applies framing theory and design principles to examine how the magazine presented the interests of its Malay audiences through the designs of its covers. A visual analysis of 80 covers from 1941 to 2018 was performed, comparing several aspects concerning both the content of the magazine and the art design. Results showed that the evolution of Mastika can be explained through 6-time phases that captured a dynamic use of images and graphics to define and represent the interest of the Malay audiences.

This cross-disciplinary course bridging the disciplines of art and chemistry provides an exceptional environment in which first-year students and beyond are engaged and challenged in new ways. This dual lab/studio-based course, titled “Art in the Anthropocene: Greener Art through Greener Chemistry,” enables students to use their imagination, creativity, and innovation to respond to environmental issues and concerns through art. Students are asked to reflect on the nature and implications of the actual physical materials that artists use and to achieve a renewed sense of social and ethical responsibility through the content of their artwork. The curriculum is designed so that teachers guide students on how chemical processes are used to make art materials in an environmentally friendly way. The overall goal is to apply green chemistry principles in the making of artworks that can be crafted with reclaimed, recycled, and naturally available materials, non-toxic solvents and paints, and using sustainable forms of energy while keeping ethical values in mind.

In this paper a Power– and Variability–Aware Nonvolatile RRAM Cell (4CNFET2M) is presented. Memristor is used as a nonvolatile memory element. We have compared our proposed cell with standard 6T SRAM (S6T) cell and 2T2M RRAM cell (state of the art design based on memristor). The proposed cell shows 1.26 × /3.61 × shorter read delay/write delay variability compared to 2T2M. 4CNFET2M also shows 1.39 × narrower read delay variability compared to S6T. Furthermore, the proposed cell shows 6.4 × shorter write delay in comparison to 2T2M RRAM cell. 4CNFET2M consumes 106 × /2.02 × lower power during hold mode compared to conventional S6T SRAM/2T2M RRAM cell. Furthermore, the proposed cell also shows improvement in hold power variability compared to both the cells. All the simulated data, presented here, are for 1 V supply voltage. These improvements are achieved because of using the memristor and CNFET technology. These benefits are obtained at a cost of slightly longer read delay compared to 2T2M/S6T and 33.6 × longer write delay compared to S6T.

With rapid development of 3D virtual scene, virtual reality (VR) technology starts to be applied in teaching practice. Because of its conception and innovation, VR technology has certain advantage in art creation learning and teaching. In traditional art course teaching, theoretical knowledge is more than design practice, and the depth of design cases is insufficient. Thus, students lack driving force of art creation. On this basis, wall painting technology and VR technology were combined and applied in the course of Illustration Design in this paper. According to the course requirement of Illustration Design – many design cases, Illustration Design teaching mode based on virtual wall painting technology was constructed. The study result showed that, students more approved the new teaching mode, their interest improved greatly and teaching efficiency boosted significantly. The teaching mode can make up for defects of traditional art design teaching mode and contributes to cultivating students’ art creation ability.

Achieving harmonious colour relationship for visual expression is of prime importance in art and design. Mixing pigment colours is often unwieldy, ambiguous, confusing and problematic. Therefore, as a panacea, this paper proposes a mathematical model that would serve heuristic, descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive, and predictive functions. It used a triangulation of the Critical-Historical-Analytical Examination, Artistic Exploration and Content Analysis methods. The paper started with the need for model to satisfactorily resolve problems associated with mixing colours in harmony. Furthermore, the fundamental features of colour were highlighted. Moreover, it discussed the adoption and adaptation of the Colour Wheel into a set of alphanumeric codes and mathematical proposition: nH(I+V) =1, where n is a number of a code that represents a type of colour harmony, H:Hue, I: Intensity and V: Value. The alphanumeric codes: M(1), A(1,2,3), DC(1,7), SC(1,6,8), NC(1,6 or 8), TR(1,5,9), B(1,6,10) and TD(1,3,7,9 or 1,4,7,10) represent Monochromatic, Analogous, Direct Complementary, Split Complementary, Near Complementary, Triadic, Balance, and Tetrad schemes respectively. And the paper ended with suggestions that artists and designers should internalize and employ these codes and formula, which with practice, become intuitive and useful. In order to cultivate more excellent talents in art and design majors following the requirements of the "13th Five-Year Plan" national education development, this paper analyzes in-depth on the current status of higher vocational education in art design profession under the background of the "Double High" plan and the challenges faced, and proposes the building of school-enterprise "Double Subject" education system and the establishment of a "diversified" evaluation system. Deepening the integration of industry and education, schools and enterprises jointly explore modern apprenticeship talent training models for innovative art and design majors, and provide a strong guarantee for the implementation of the "Double High" plan modern apprenticeship talent training model.

Training talents for the society is the responsibility of colleges and universities. The society needs applied and innovative art design majors. In order to cultivate talents needed by society and keep up with the development plan of the Ministry of Education, higher vocational colleges need to reform. This paper adopts the method of theoretical analysis to elaborate from the four aspects of focusing equally on science and education, promote learning by competition; integrating industry and education, nurturing talents together; keeping the mission in mind while serving students; and finding the right positioning, giving full play to the advantages.
