Loss of any part of the body is seen mostly due to trauma, diseases or congenital malformations which causes psychological trauma along with functional, and esthetic impairment. Amputed finger can be surgically reconstructed but when not feasible the patient reports to a prosthetist for replacement of the lost part. The patient’s expectations must be met by the prosthetist by mimicking the opposite digit as closely as possible which helps regains the patient’s lost confidence. This article proposes a technique for rehabilitation of an amputated finger using Rapid prototyping technique as compared to the conventional technique which is time consuming, requires manual skills, lacks precision and finesse making digitally fabricated prosthetic digit a reality.

Background: The goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of eight -week therapy in a patient with writer’s cramp. Study design: A single case study. Method: A 28-year-old adolescent who has been diagnosed with writer's cramp attends an eight-week exercise programme. VAS and ADDS were used as outcome measures in this study. Result: As a result of the study, the patient demonstrated improvements in physical examination, which was evaluated before and after the intervention and included the PNF, Stretching and Task-based activities. Conclusion: The results of this case suggest that the exercise program using PNF, and task based activities may improve the ability to write and do the tasks using his right hand in a patient with Writer's cramp. &nbsp

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With this research, the authors aimed to better comprehend the obstacles faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during a pandemic, the digital reforms that emerged as a result of COVID-19, and the preventive measures that SMEs can take to withstand the crisis. They reviewed a wide range of secondary materials, including scholarly journals, books, internet resources, and blogs. They conclude that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can benefit from digital transformation because it allows them to rethink their decision-making processes and their use of technology. To overcome the challenges posed by COVID-19 to SMEs, it is necessary to examine a set of policy measures that could aid the recovery of MSMEs.

This article discusses the conditions surrounding the production and reception of Pardhan-Gond art as book illustration and visual narrative in Bhajju Shyam's The London Jungle Book (2004). It argues for the need for new frameworks and approaches to understand the poetics and politics of the narrative which depend on the visual art by the artist, as well as the paratextual elements of the print form and the collaborative-creative process of publishing. While the narrative makes an important argument regarding the social structures and power relations affecting the production and reception of non-western art forms in the west, the form of the narrative also holds important clues for understanding and experiencing the unique conditions of the production and adaptation of the art form as crossover picturebook.

A metal-oxidant-solvent-free domino reaction of 3-chloropropiophenones, enolizable ketones and NH4OAc under an open atmosphere has been developed. This process generates a series of di- and trisubstituted pyridines regioselectively.

Current non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) algorithms are reasonably accurate when the sampling rate is high. However, in practical scenarios, when the sampling frequency is low, the performance of most algorithms deteriorates. This work proposes a solution for low-frequency NILM. We propose to modify the smart-meter such that it can transmit at low frequency using principles of compressed sensing (CS). From such CS samples, we propose to detect the state of the appliance by using a multi-label consistent version of deep blind compressed sensing. Comparison with existing techniques shows that our proposed approach yields considerably better results.

The effect of global warming on the proliferation of carrier dependent infectious diseases is exigent. In this paper, we have proposed and analysed a non-linear mathematical model to study the deleterious effect of rise in global temperature on the spread of carrier dependent infectious diseases due to increased carrier immigration. The model comprises five dependent variables, namely, the density of susceptible population, the density of infected population, the density of carrier population, the concentration of carbon dioxide and the global average temperature. Driven by existing literature and data, the global average temperature is assumed to be proportional to the increased level of CO2 . The natural as well as anthropogenic emissions that result in the upward climb of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere are considered in the model. The carrier population is assumed to grow logistically. The long-term behaviour of the model is estimated through the stability theory of differential equations. A basic differential sensitivity analysis is also conducted to assess the sensitivity of model solutions with respect to key parameters of the dynamical system. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the analytical results.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological problem which mainly affects the children and is a frequent reason of physical inability. It affects both motor as well as sensory system. Due to physical disability quality treatment is required for CP children. For an effective treatment proper assessment and selection of correct assessment tool is necessary. This review was aimed to recognize the various assessment scales which are available to assess different domains in person of cerebral palsy patient along with their psychometric properties. We had done a review of literature through Cochrane library, Ovid MEDLINE and GOOGLE SCHOLAR, CINAHL till March 2020. The studies in English-language related to the assessment scales for the cerebral palsy were reviewed. Many scales were evaluated for different symptoms and good psychometric properties in CP child. We reviewed many research and review article related to assessment for CP. Various titles, abstracts, and references were checked for the relevancy.Review was done for the assessment of alteration in muscle tone, impaired voluntary movement, pain, gross motor function, balance, cognition and gait. Cerebral palsy was the primary goal of findings in 198 studies. Out of these, 58 studies were not proved the definition of cerebral palsy. 96 studies reported assessment of cerebral palsy for different domain, 25 studies used etiology and incidence and 19 studies for other domain which are related to CP. Many cerebral palsy scales are available, but only a very small number of scales were thoroughly validated for use in clinical practice in India. This review will help therapist in selection of appropriate tool and study of various symptoms in CP child before starting the treatment..

With the development in the technologies and modern equipment the level of the pollution has increased significantly. Air pollution caused due to the factories and the automobiles contributes a large share in this pollution and also one of the most challenging because the Particulate matters are released directly in to the air. So, this project is based on solving the global problem of air pollution by designing an air purifier that brings the increased level of air pollution to its lowest level. In this air purifier HEPA filters is used to purify the air and to make it smart sensors and IOTs are used. To make this whole process automatic Arduino based microcontroller (Node MCU ESP12e) is used which makes this whole system self-operating .This model will also use air quality sensor (MQ135 ),temperature sensor (DHT11) and humidity sensor (DHT11) for its working. Along-with this for energy requirements solar panels are used but for future scope electricity generation using piezo-electric plates has also been suggested.

Withania somnifera, a herb used in Ayurveda since ancient times, is commonly found in the Himalayan belt. Withania somnifera is reported to be useful in fever, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, and cancers. Its leaves are found to be effective against swelling, chest pain, sores, and ulcers. Withania possesses antioxidant, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, anti-bacterial, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, anti-tumor, adaptogenic, and memory-enhancing properties. Among the bioactive compounds present in Withania, Withaferin A is the most important and well-explored compound having anti-cancer activity among several other activities. Many studies have reported the anti-inflammatory action of Withania somnifera and isolated Withaferin A. In this chapter, we have summarized the antiinflammatory activities exhibited by this multifaceted medicinal plant.

Tinospora cordifolia (TC, Giloy, Guduchi, or Amrita) is a valuable medicinal herb in the Indian System of Medicine (ISM), Chinese, and other traditional systems of medicine. TC contains a broad array of therapeutic phytoconstituents like alkaloids, glycosides, steroids, terpenoids, aliphatic compounds, diterpene lactones, phenolics, and flavonoids. TC is hailed for its therapeutic use with anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, cardiac disease, anti-arthritis, and anti-microbial properties. TC induces immunomodulatory effects through the induction of macrophage activation, pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, lymphocyte proliferation, and also secretion of interleukins. The present chapter highlights the biological properties, therapeutic use, and immunomodulatory pathways of Tinospora cordifolia.

Not your typical GPCR Among the large family of G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) are many orphans, so called because their signaling reactions remain poorly understood. Among these is GPR158 which is highly expressed in the nervous system and implicated in processes from cognition to memory to mood. Patil et al . determined a high-resolution structure of GPR158 alone and bound to a regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) complex. GPR158 has an unusual dimerization mode with an extensive interaction interface that locks it in a conformation that likely prevents G protein activation. RGS binds to the homodimer at a site that substantially overlaps the surface that binds G proteins, again preventing canonical G protein signaling. Binding of a ligand to the extracellular domain may regulate signaling through the RGS complex. —VV

There are limited data to provide better understanding of the knowledge/awareness of general population towards liver health in Asia. We sought to identify the knowledge gaps and attitudes towards liver health and liver diseases as well as evaluate associated individual-level and macro-level factors based on contextual analysis. An online survey assessing knowledge, awareness and attitudes towards liver health and disease was conducted among 7500 respondents across 11 countries/territories in Asia. A liver index was created to measure the respondents' knowledge level and the degree of awareness and attitudes. Multilevel logistic regression was performed to identify individual factors and contextual effects that were associated with liver index. The overall liver index (0-100-point scale) was 62.4 with 6 countries/territories' liver indices greater than this. In the multilevel model, the inclusion of geographical information could explain for 9.6% of the variation. Residing in a country/territory with higher HBV prevalence (80% IOR: 1.20-2.79) or higher HCV death rate (80% IOR: 1.35-3.13) increased the individual probability of obtaining a high overall liver index. Individual factors like age, gender, education, household income, disease history and health screening behaviour were also associated with liver index (all p-values0.001). The overall liver index was positively associated with the two macro-level factors viz. HBV prevalence and HCV death rate. There is a need to formulate policies especially in regions of lower HBV prevalence and HCV death rate to further improve the knowledge, awareness and attitudes of the general public towards liver diseases.

The experiment entitled effect of nitrogen and foliar application of naphthaleneacetic acid on growth and yield of Baby corn (Zea mays L.) was conducted during the Rabi season of 2020 at the Fodder Production Farm of Livestock Research Station, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Lam Farm, Guntur. Andhra Pradesh. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with 10treatments and each replicated thrice. Treatments consisted of a combination of three levels of nitrogen (60.0, 90.0, 120.0kg/ha) and three levels of naphthalene acetic acid (20,40,60 ppm). It was found that an application of 120 kg Nitrogen/ha as basal along with foliar spray of 40 ppm naphthalene acetic acid at 25 and 35 days after sowing, was the most suitable treatment for obtaining growth and yield attributes such as plant height (177.60 cm), number of leaves (11.33), plant dry weight (113.58g/plant), chlorophyll content (68.43), Leaf Area Index (8.65) and green fodder yield (20333 kg/ha) with net return (83,701.88 Rs/ha) and B:C ratio (1.68). On the basis of one-year experimentation it is concluded that the application of 120 kg Nitrogen/ha + 40 ppm naphthalene acetic acid, on baby corn improved cob yield by 25 % and was found more productive than the recommended dose of fertilizer.

This paper explores the barriers which hamper the utilization and the routinization of product lifecycle management (PLM) practices in manufacturing organizations. The paper aims to confirm the barriers and their rank in order to improve the PLM institutionalization status in firms. Core barriers have been explored in an automotive firm by applying multicriteria decision-making techniques. Further, the significance of these barriers were corroborated with the executives in the broader PLM domain through a t-test. This study confirmes the “lack of advanced IT infrastructure,” “lack of integration and interoperability,” and “training on the PLM systems” as the top three barriers to PLM utilization and routinization in manufacturing firms in India.

A series of novel naphthophenanthridine derivatives are synthesized via N-annulation of hexabutoxytriphenylene-1-amine with various aliphatic aldehydes through the Pictet-Spengler reaction. The synthesized derivatives have been found to self-assemble into a columnar hexagonal mesophase over a wide temperature range, as validated through polarized optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction experiments. The photophysical properties of these compounds were studied using UV-visible and emission spectroscopy. The synthesized compounds exhibit ambipolar charge transport, showing temperature-independent electron and hole mobility on the order of 3 × 10-4 cm2/V s, as evaluated by the time-of-flight technique. These novel N-annulated derivatives can be of immense potential toward semiconducting applications of self-assembling supramolecular systems.

For the growth and production of agriculture, it is crucial to implement new technology. Farmers' adoption of the technology was influenced by their socioeconomic situation. Therefore, it is crucial to research the social standing of the farmer. Data from a survey of 60 farm homes served as the basis for the analysis. Using a straightforward random procedure, a sample was chosen from the list of mushroom growers. Based on the quantity of bags produced, all mushroom farmers were divided into three categories: Small Category (300), Medium Category (301–500), and Large Category (>500). The study's findings showed that every farmer and the majority of their families were literate. Studying households' literacy levels revealed that, on average, 80.25 percent of family members were literate, with a literacy index of 2.39. Based on landholding, all of the farmers fell into one of the three categories. Therefore, only small farmers liked mushroom growing, and the majority of farmers had an orchard. It has been determined that the farmer's primary source of revenue is the mushroom industry. In the case of the medium and large categories, mushrooms contributed the most to total farm income, accounting for 43.44 percent and 70.18 percent, respectively. Its overall contribution to farm revenue was found to be 49.42%. A mushroom producer makes more than $30,000 a month from less than 500 bags of mushrooms, which is significantly more than the average Indian.

International audience; This work addresses the problem of hyperspectral image classification when the number of labeled samples is very small (few shot learning). Our work is based on the recently proposed framework of convolutional transform learning. In this work, we propose a semisupervised version of deep convolutional transform learning. We compare with four recent studies which are tailored for solving the few-shot learning problem in hyperspectral classification. Results show that our method can improve over the state-of-the-art.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is caused by mutations in a chloride channel called the human Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (hCFTR). We used cryo-EM global conformational ensemble reconstruction to characterize the mechanism by which the breakthrough drug VX445 (Elexacaftor) simultaneously corrects both protein-folding and channel-gating defects caused by CF mutations. VX445 drives hCFTR molecules harboring the gating-defective G551D mutation towards the open-channel conformation by binding to a site in the first transmembrane domain. This binding interaction reverses the usual pathway of allosteric structural communication by which ATP binding activates channel conductance, which is blocked by the G551D mutation. Our ensemble reconstructions include a 3.4 Å non-native structure demonstrating that detachment of the first nucleotide-binding domain of hCFTR is directly coupled to local unfolding of the VX445 binding site. Reversal of this unfolding transition likely contributes to its corrector activity by cooperatively stabilizing NBD1 and the transmembrane domains of hCFTR during biogenesis.SummaryCryo-EM global conformational ensemble reconstruction has been used to characterize the mechanism-of-action of a breakthrough pharmaceutical that corrects fatal protein-folding and channel-gating defects in the human cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR).

Most surgical procedure articles throughout the last three decades, especially those dealing with newer techniques, have included explanations of indications and contraindications, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of individual treatments. However, only a few authors have recently focused on periodontal surgical indications. In light of our current understanding of periodontal disease and therapy, this review will examine the indications for certain periodontal surgical procedures.
