[ES] El proyecto describe a través de un breve documental y una serie de diez cuadros el antes y el después del sector vitivinícola en la zona de La Mancha, concretamente en el pueblo de Tomelloso (Ciudad Real). Con ello se muestra lo que todavía perdura de la tradición contrastado con los grandes cambios técnicos que se acusan hasta el presente. De esos diez cuadros, se dividen dos bloques de cinco cada uno, el primero, pinturas de fotografías en blanco y negro de los años 40 comparadas con otras del 2018. El material audiovisual al igual que cada pareja de obras pictóricas, guardan un tema entre los que encontramos: (I) la cuadrilla (cómo la mano de obra pasa de ser familiar a jornaleros de otras zonas de España o inmigrantes en su mayoría) ; (II) logística y transporte de la materia prima (la fuerza de trabajo animal y manual es sustituida por tractores o máquinas cosechadoras); (III) el papel de la mujer en el campo (las terreras que trabajaban codo con codo con los hombres para cavar las bodegas y que en la actualidad se ha visto sustituido por mano de obra masculina en su mayoría); (IV) los avances tecnológicos (grandes macrocooperativas de gran especialización tecnológica); y (V) el folclore. Todo esto enfatizado con referencias a importantes personajes como el pintor Antonio López Torres, tío y mentor de Antonio López García, introduciéndolo en alguna escena o tomando los puntos de vista que utilizaba este personaje en su producción artística al aire libre., [EN] This project describes through a short documentary and a series of ten pictures taken from photographical references from family and relatives, the changes throughout time within the wine sector in La Mancha, specifically, the town of Tomelloso (Ciudad Real). This work shows that some of the traditions pervail despite the current great technical changes. These ten paintings are divided in two blocks of five pictures. On the first block, we can find black and white pictures inspired in 1940s photographs compared with current snapshots from 2018. The audiovisual material together with each pair of pictorial works have a particular theme, where we can find: (I) the cuadrilla, (how family labor disappears in favour of migrants from other regions of Spain or immigrants); (II) logistics and transportation of raw material (manual and animal workforce replaced by tractors and harvesters); (III) the role of women in fields and vineyards (las terreras, women that worked elbow-to-elbow with men to dig wine cellars. Nowadays these traditions has been replaced by a majority of male workforce); (IV) technological advances (great cooperatives with a high level of specialization); or (V) cultural traditions. All this highlighted by reference to cultural celebrities such as painter Antonio López Torres (Antonio López García¿s uncle and mentor), by introducing him in some scenes or capturing the artist point of view on his outdoors artistic production.

La tradición de la Tía Norica constituye uno de los pocos ejemplos peninsulares del teatro de muñecos, actualmente activos, que hunde sus raíces en la tradición del títere dieciochesco, de orígenes italianos. Su repertorio básico lo constituye los Autos de Navidad, de ámbito religioso y cuya ascendencia literaria se encuentra en la tradición textual de obras del siglo XVI como Las astucias de Luzbel contra las divinas profecías, de Juan de Quiroga Faxardo, y El diablo predicador y mayor contrario amigo, de Luis de Belmonte Bermúdez; y para el siglo XVIII en el poema dramático La infancia de Jesu-Christo, de Gaspar Fernández. La otra parte importante de su repertorio es el Sainete de la Tía Norica, que remite de un lado al sainete costumbrista de Juan Ignacio González del Castillo y, por otro, a la tradición paródica del testamento burlesco. The tradition of Tia Norica is one of the few examples of currently active peninsular puppet theater, whose roots stem from an eighteenth-century tradition of Italian origin. The basic repertory consists of Autos de Navidad, of a religious nature and whose literary origin is found in the textual tradition of 18th century Works like Juan de Quiroga Faxardo’s Las astucias de Luzbel contra las divinas profecías, and Luis de Belmonte Bermúdez’s El diablo predicador y mayor contrario amigo, as well as the 18th century dramatic poem La infancia de Jesu-Christo by Gaspar Fernández. Antother important part of the repertory is the Sainete de la Tía Norica, which refers back on one hand to the costumbrista sainetes by Juan Ignacio González del Castillo y, on another hand, to the parodic tradition of the farcical or burlesque will or testament.

RESUMEN: En el trabajo se presenta un análisis de un caso particular de interferencia entre elementos etnográficos y textos literarios costumbristas, el de las marzas del valle de Campoo en el sur de Cantabria. Se analizan los diferentes textos de los escritores costumbristas que recogieron esta costumbre popular de pedir dádivas por las casas acompañándose de un canto particular, el de marzas, y cómo estos textos incluyeron elementos etnográficos que los escritores mezclaron con otros literarios. ABSTRACT: The paper presents an analysis of a particular case of interference between ethnographic elements and literary literary texts, that of the Marzas of the Campoo Valley in southern Cantabria. The different texts of the customs writers who collected this popular custom of asking for gifts for the houses accompanied by a particular song, that of marzas, and how these texts included ethnographic elements that the writers mixed with other literary ones, are analyzed.

Cultural expression and creativity contribute to shape national identity; movie experience reflects society. The way in which Pedro Almodóvar’s films facilitates a greater understanding of Spanish culture is the main thesis in this research. This study follows a double methodology: a descriptive documentary phase and an analysis of the filmmaker’s work. The latter includes two substages: a qualitative analysis based on a pattern dealing with different variables related to stereotype perception of Spain abroad; and a quantitative one, which highlights further procedures to approach the national culture. The insight provided by this research proves that Almodóvar actually spreads Spanish identity through his creative universe and empowers its stereotypes, yet by making them more modern: he points out the role of family, but he goes against the traditional model; he turns Madrid, Spain symbolic sight in the international standard about Spanish identity, into the kernel of his work; and he introduces some elements of Spanish popular culture like folklore, gastronomy, bullfighting or rural Spain. This investigation seeks to comprehend the evolution of the ‘Home angel’ figure which appears in a formal way in 1881, but is presented in Colombian literature with costumbrist novel. With that type of novel, a woman who submits to her husband, who has no Access to education and whose role is mainly held by the obligation of taking care of the household chores and the values education to her children. That analysis is developed from the novel María by Jorge Isaacs (1867), studying other novels from centuries XIX, XX and XXI, observing the evolution of the figure mentioned, analyzing three different stages: social, politic and religious. For this purpose, this investigation analyzes the literature that formally establishes the existence and recognition of the ‘Home angel’ role, for the one it is found a purpose and necessity in the society of the moment if was first presented, which worked as a strategy to control women but that, with the passing of time, has been kept in the third world societies as Colombia. La presente investigación busca comprender la evolución de la figura ‘ángel del hogar’, la cual aparece formalmente en 1881, pero lo hace por primera vez en la literatura con la novela costumbrista en Colombia. Con dicho tipo de novela, se revela una mujer sujeta a su marido, que no tiene acceso a la educación y cuyo rol busca netamente el cuidado de la casa y la educación en valores de sus hijos. Dicho análisis se hace partiendo de la novela María de Jorge Isaacs (1867), recorriendo obras de los siglos XIX, XX y XXI, observando la evolución de la figura mencionada desde los puntos de vista social, político y religioso. Para lo anterior, esta investigación hace el análisis de la literatura que establece formalmente la existencia y reconocimiento de este rol, para el cual se halla un propósito y necesidad en la sociedad del momento. Dicho rol funcionó como una estrategia de control del género femenino de la época, pero que, a pesar del paso del tiempo, se ha mantenido en las sociedades latinoamericanas tercermundistas, como es el caso de Colombia.

The main objective of this work is to analyze the resurgence of the costumbrista genre in Spain during the 1960s, when reports of daily scenes and portraits of urban characters started to be accompanied by documentart photographs. In this period, the relationship between the literary text and the photography was widely developed through the publication of a series of booklets, both in Spain and in Latin America. The main corpus of this research is the new book Nuevas escenas matritenses, which brings together photographs by Enrique Palazuelo and texts by Camilo José Cela. In this work, the approximation between word and image either enhaces the storytelling process or generates tension between the two media. In order to carry out this analysis, we resorted to the reflections of Joan Fontcuberta and André Rouillé on the limits and transformative power of photographic realism, as well as to the observations of Christoph Rodiek on the work of Camilo José Cela and Karl Erik Schøllhammer about the relations between word and image. O principal objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o ressurgimento do gênero costumbrista na Espanha da década de 1960, quando relatos de cenas do cotidiano e retratos de tipos urbanos passaram a ser acompanhados de fotografias-documento. Nesse período, a relação entre texto literário e fotografia foi amplamente cultivada através da publicação de uma série de fotolivros, tanto na Espanha quanto na América Latina. O corpus principal desta pesquisa é o fotolivro Nuevas escenas matritenses, que reúne fotografias de Enrique Palazuelo e textos de Camilo José Cela, no qual a aproximação entre palavra e imagem ora potencializa o processo de fabulação, ora gera tensão entre os dois meios. Para a realização dessa análise, recorreu-se às reflexões de Joan Fontcuberta e André Rouillé sobre os limites e o poder transformador do realismo fotográfico, assim como às observações de Christoph Rodiek sobre a obra de Camilo José Cela e às de Karl Erik Schøllhammer sobre a relação entre palavra e imagem.

El objeto principal en este trabajo fue investigar la compleja dinámica que existía entre los tipos de medicina vigentes en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX en Costa Rica vista a través del género literario de los cuadros de costumbres, con énfasis en los discursos que los escritores compartían y reproducían al respeto. Los cuadros de costumbres fueron originalmente publicados en periódicos costarricenses y escritos por letrados de la élite intelectual del país y ofrecen, aparte de valiosas descripciones de los distintos practicantes de la salud —médicos, curanderos, boticarios y dentistas; así como remedios—, una oportunidad para investigar la complicada relación que había entre la medicina convencional y la medicina popular en una manera que no se puede hacer utilizando otros tipos de fuentes. Todos los cuatro cuadros de costumbres que se analizan en esta investigación; “Sea Usted Médico” (1854), “Muletillas” (1890), “Dolor de Muelas” (1893) y “Personas Serviciales” (1900), contienen crítica hacia la medicina popular; pero más importante, tenían una función en la lucha por las reformas liberales que los letrados opinaban fueron necesarias para promover el progreso, la modernización y el desarrollo de una joven nación que en aquella época se encontraba en formación. A pesar de que hay un patrón de rivalidad entre la medicina convencional y la medicina popular, resulta que estos dos campos principales, en apariencia opuestos, en realidad convivían en Costa Rica durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. The main purpose of this work was to investigate the complex dynamic that existed between the different medical practices active in the second half of the nineteenth century in Costa Rica; seen through the literary genre of sketches of manner with emphasis on the discourses which the writers shared and reproduced about the subject. The sketches of manner were originally published in Costa Rican newspapers and written by literates of the country's intellectual elite. Apart from valuable descriptions of the different health practitioners – such as doctors, healers, apothecaries and dentists; as well as remedies — they offer an opportunity to investigate the complicated relationship between conventional medicine and popular medicine in a way that cannot be done using other sources. All four of the sketches of manner that are analyzed in this investigation; "Sea Usted Médico" (1854), "Muletillas" (1890), "Dolor de muelas" (1893), and "Personas serviciales" (1900), contain criticism of popular medicine; but more importantly, they had a role in the fight for liberal reforms that the literates believed were necessary in order to promote progress, modernization and development in a young nation´s formative years. Although there is a pattern of rivalry between conventional medicine and popular medicine, it turns out that these two seemingly opposing fields actually coexisted in Costa Rica during the second half of the nineteenth century. El quehacer diario de ciudades que cambian de fisonomía con los tiempos y costumbres.

L’œuvre du francophile et médiateur culturel Jacinto Octavio Picón (1852-1923) explore les filiations entre le costumbrismo et le realismo espagnol, qui intègrent le discours nationaliste créé à partir du questionnement littéraire soulevé par la représentation du réel social. Picón s’est toujours revendiqué romancier des mœurs et a porté des projets esthétiques et sociaux modernes : il défendait un roman de mœurs pleinement artistique et revendiquait une plus grande justice sociale et légale pour la femme espagnole.

Né dans les années 1830, en plein élan romantique, le costumbrismo se définit tout d'abord par sa forme courte d'article de presse croquant les mœurs régionales ; il lui faudra attendre le milieu du siècle pour acquérir véritablement le statut de roman en tant que tel. C'est cette forme littéraire qui lui conférera ses lettres de noblesse dans les dernières décennies avec les grands romans réalistes et naturalistes des auteurs de « la génération 68 ».

Daremos en este artículo un repaso a la labor de las mujeres periodistas en el siglo XIX en España, sus ideas, del tradicionalismo al progresismo, y algunas de las principales publicaciones de la prensa ilustrada en las que publicaron su trabajo, y analizaremos a continuación algunas contribuciones de Emilia Serrano a esta, entre los años 1857-1874. Junto a apuntes costumbristas describiendo fiestas y vestidos, esta autora critica ciertas costumbres y la situación de la mujer en la época. We will review the role of journalist women in the Spain of the 19th century, their ideas, from traditionalism to progressivism, and some of the main publications of the illustrated press, where some of them published their work. Then, we will analyze some contributions done between 1857 and 1874 by Emilia Serrano. Along with some costumbrist articles where she describes parties and dresses, this author criticizes the situations of women in that time.

Ambrosio Menjón fue capellán en los vapores de la Compañía Transatlántica y estuvo a cargo de una parroquia en Cuba. Retirado en Santander escribió unos relatos en los que evocaba el Santander de su niñez y el del presente, y sus viajes a América. Estos relatos, casi desconocidos hasta ahora, tienen gran sabor costumbrista y están escritos desde la perspectiva de un testigo. Ambrosio Menjón was a Chaplain on the steamships of the Compañía Transatlántica and was in charge of a parish in Cuba. After retiring to Santander, he wrote stories that evoked the Santander of his youth as well as of his present days, and his voyages to America. These stories, practically unknown until now, have local color flavor, and are written from the point a view of a witnes.

Ce livre propose une réflexion sur l'émergence du médium photographique dans la littérature espagnole marquée du sceau du costumbrismo, dans une période allant de 1839 au début des années 1870. La lecture qui a été menée à travers le prisme de la photographie s'est nourrie d'études à la fois littéraires, esthétiques et historiques. Il a été nécessaire, au préalable, afin de mieux comprendre l'insertion de la photographie dans le domaine des lettres, de s'intéresser également aux instruments d'optique exploités par la littérature. Dans ce panorama, le choix s'est porté, entre autres, sur des œuvres comme Madrid al daguerreotipo (1849), sur des ouvrages collectifs : Los españoles pintados por sí mismos (1843-1844), Los españoles de ogaño (1872), Madrid por dentro y por fuera (1873), ou encore sur les écrits de deux auteurs considérés comme proprement costumbristas : Ramón de Mesonero Romanos et Antonio Flores. D'autres textes, moins connus, ont été retenus également, en particulier ceux qui composent l'Almanach du photographe Eusebio Juliá, ainsi que des articles extraits de journaux et de revues. Cette étude s'intéresse à la naissance et à la mise en place d'un système de représentation photographique (lexique, métaphore, illustration d'après photo) dans une littérature profondément imprégnée du modèle pictural. Si la photographie se présente comme une nouvelle source d'inspiration littéraire régénérant images et procédés, elle n'échappe pas, néanmoins, à la critique des auteurs qui la mettent en scène. C'est ce regard ambivalent des écrivains sur la photographie, considérée à la fois comme fascinante et repoussante, qui est questionné dans cet ouvrage. Révélatrice d'une oscillation entre modernité et tradition, l'étude de la rencontre entre littérature espagnole et photographie au XIXe siècle a permis de déceler ce qui était en germe dans les rapports entre ces deux domaines, ce que les auteurs des XXe et XXIe siècles exploiteront pleinement.

El género de la comedia (en sus versiones satíricas, románticas, costumbristas, grotescas, de enredos, dramáticas) atraviesa un conjunto de películas argentinasque a lo largo de los últimos años giran en torno a la vida cotidiana en espacios interiores y exteriores, domésticos y no domésticos. En este contexto, Rompecabezas(2009), la ópera prima de Natalia Smirnoff, participa de un retorno de la comedia de costumbres, con vetas grotescas, que plantea un horizonte moral renovado a tono con las transformaciones contemporáneas del modelo social y familiar. Las principales características del costumbrismo como resultado deliberado de la búsqueda de un “realismo aumentado” proceden de la demarcación de los personajes, los espacios, las músicas y los encuadres. The genre of comedy (in its different versions:satirical, romantic, of customs, grotesque, entanglements, dramatic) crosses a set of Argentine films that are built around everyday life in interiors and open spaces, domestic and non-domestic areas. In this context, Rompecabezas(2009), Natalia Smirnoff’s opera prima, participates in a return of the comedy of customs with grotesque nuances. This film constructs a moral horizon in tune with contemporary transformations of the social and family model. The main characteristics of the comedy of customs as a deliberate result of the search for an “increased realism” come from the demarcation of characters, spaces, music and framings. Hacia una poética del artículo de costumbres (1830-1850) constituye una exploración del mapa del artículo de costumbres publicado en España durante la primera mitad del siglo XIX, así como una aproximación panorámica inicial a su poética. La investigación desarrollada se centra en el artículo de costumbres español publicado entre 1830 y 1850 y, más concretamente, en la poética que lo anima. Su principal objetivo es paliar la ausencia de un estudio específico en torno a este intergénero literario, manifestación paradigmática del multiforme costumbrismo. Finalmente, la investigación doctoral desarrollada se enmarca en el contexto de la construcción de una teoría del costumbrismo capaz de ofrecer una visión amplia de este fenómeno estético-literario., Towards a Poetics of the Sketch of Manners (1830-1850) constitutes an exploration of the map of the sketch of manners published in Spain during the first half of the 19th century, as well as an initial panoramic approach to its poetics. The research focuses on the Spanish sketch of manners and, more specifically, on the poetics of the sketch of manners published between 1830 and 1850. Its main purpose is to cover the absence of a specific study on this literary intergenre, one of the most paradigmatic formulations of multiform costumbrismo. Finally, the developed doctoral research is framed in the context of the construction of a theory of costumbrismo able to provide a comprehensive overview of this aesthetic and literary phenomenon.

El ensayo establece una comparación entre el relato del Inca Garcilaso sobre Aguirre, y el relato que Ricardo Palma denomina Las orejas del alcalde. Igualmente, se establece una comparación entre el relato sobre los melones y los nativos que creyeron haber sido delatados por una carta; y el relato de Palma que se titula Carta canta. Al comparar se podrá advertir las similitudes en la trama narrativa y la imagen de los personajes históricos; aunque también las notorias diferencias en el tratamiento del relato y el estilo discursivo. Se menciona un posible motivo por el que el escritor de las tradiciones no menciona al Inca Garcilaso siendo que fue el antecesor de la propuesta narrativa. The essay establishes a comparison between the story of the Inca Garcilaso about Aguirre, and the story that Ricardo Palma calls “The ears of the mayor.” Likewise, a comparison is made between the account of the melons and the natives who believed they had been betrayed by a letter; and the story of Palma that are titled “Carta sings”. When comparing it will be possible to notice the similarities in the narrative plot and the image of the historical personages; But also the notorious differences in the treatment of the story and the discursive style. It mentions why, probably, the writer of the traditions does not mention the Inca Garcilaso being that was the predecessor of the narrative proposal.

Biografía del escritor Ramón de Mesonero Romanos para la Encyclopedia of Romantic Nationalism in Europe (ERNiE) en su versión en papel, una enciclopedia monumental que tiene como objetivo principal documentar la presencia y los efectos del surgimiento de una conciencia cultural en las primeras décadas del nacionalismo europeo.
