In recent years Saudi Arabia has launched many campaigns to promote a model of global excellence to be a pioneer in future growth. As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's National Vision 2030, the country encourages the improvement of national quality services based on the commitment of the government to build up a prosperous country, starting with the valorisation of local traditions. In particular, the Saudi, Arab, and Islamic heritage, built by an ancient civilisation and deeply rooted in the country's history, is currently valorised to strengthen the national identity of local Arab values. The country aspires to preserve heritage sites and the local environment by promoting hospitality services for tourism. In the last years, Muslim pilgrims and all visitors to heritage sites entering the country from abroad have reached eight million people, tripling the numbers in the last decade. The government has started many initiatives and promoted many urban planning processes, programmes, and projects to enhance the touristic offer. The intent is to reach a sustainable approach to target the healthy growth of the country and the Saudi Arabian cities. The article presents some interventions that are currently under development to pursue the Saudi Vision 2030 and its goals. The recent third expansion of the Two Holy Mosques, the modernization of national airports, and the Mecca Metro project to complement the railroad and train public transportation offer will be presented and discussed as part of the national strategy to achieve a sustainable economy and tourism. The demand for rubber gloves has significantly increased in both medical and non-medical fields due to the spread of the coronavirus in 2019. It is challenging for rubber glove manufacturing industries to balance the production and demand for the product. Additionally, they must determine techniques to decrease the production costs so as to make rubber gloves more economical for consumers. Generally, natural gas, fossil fuels, and renewable energy sources are used worldwide in the manufacturing of rubber gloves. In addition, Thailand uses biomass energy for rubber glove production, but biomass utilization is not economically friendly. This study used different biomasses as fuel in rubber glove production so as to reduce production costs and make the process more environmentally friendly. Wood chip (WC), palm kernel shells (PKS), and oil palm mesocarp fiber (OPMF) biomass were collected from local regions and used in different ratios. The samples of WC, PKS, and OPMF were prepared in four different ratios, namely, 88:12:0, 85:15:0, 85:13:2, and 85:10:5, for efficient biomass utilization. The 85:10:5 (WC: PKS: OPMF) ratio was found to be the optimal ratio as the annual production costs of rubber gloves significantly decreased to USD 1.64 per 1000 units of gloves. Furthermore, this biomass ratio also showed the best boiler efficiency of 74.87%. Therefore, WC, PKS, and OPMF biomass are recommended as fuel for rubber glove industries to make sustainable and economical production processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A set of newly defined environmental principles can advance the sustainability performance of economic frameworks such as industrial ecology, cradle-to-cradle, and the circular economy. Currently, the environmental sustainability of these frameworks is mainly derived from the application of efficiency principles such as waste reduction, or closing and narrowing production, and consumption loops. However, these same principles can bring, in some cases, unintended outcomes that are detrimental to the environment. Efficiency principles also fall short of environmental sustainability aspirations, doing little to contribute to addressing the causes of current global environmental crises. This paper examines 7 widely applicable principles aimed at explicit environmental sustainability: doing no harm to nature, minimising environmental damage, restoring/remediating environmental damage, net-positive impact, no net loss, maintaining the health of ecosystems, and continual environmental improvement. These principles could markedly improve efforts to actively pursue sustainability and foster new economic forms that address our current unsustainable trajectories. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The impact of government assistance, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, conceptual development support, and educational development support on green entrepreneurial aspirations through university curriculum during the COVID-19 epidemic is explored in this research. It is the first of its kind in Egypt and is based on a sample population of 502 undergraduate students from various faculties at five Egyptian universities (two public, two private, and one institution with international cooperation). It employs structural equation modelling via SmartPLS. This study can assist other Egyptian universities in creating strategic plans for environmental initiatives and ensuring that students are given the necessary skills to succeed. The study aims to evaluate the impact of conceptual development support offered by universities in terms of fostering interest and presenting novel ideas to students to start a new project, government support provided in terms of laws and programs to encourage entrepreneurship, development of university curriculum to promote entrepreneurial self-efficacy through regular courses, postgraduate practices, and networking with entrepreneurs. Academics, especially those in universities in Egypt or other Arab or African nations, as well as policymakers, can gain from this research's potential to build new standards to support green entrepreneurship and sustainable economies. Various approaches to the implementation of the concept of extended producer responsibility in the European Union are considered, and the features of the introduction and use of the closed-cycle economy in European countries are determined. Some examples of the impact of waste legislation on the production cycle of a product in the European Union are considered, as well as the main obstacles that manufacturers had to face when trying to introduce the extended producer responsibility concept in its current form into production. The key problems of using and implementing the concept under consideration in the economy are highlighted. The interrelation of ESG factors as guidelines for strategic development with the need for the development of mechanisms of extended producer responsibility is shown. The prospects for the development of extended producer responsibility in Russian production are also outlined.

This study identifies the trends in the literature related to Sustainable Finance by means of an exhaustive literature review and a bibliometric analysis of publications taken from the Web of Science database (WoS). A search in WoS for the associated terms came up with a total of 9294 entries, showing a particularly noticeable growth in scientific production in the aftermath of the Paris Agreement of 2015. The analysis of the bibliometric networks was performed using VOSviewer (VOSviewer is a software tool for constructing and visualizing bibliometric networks), from which the analysis of key words was obtained. Using this analysis five cluster groups were identified, showing the main themes of research: Climate risk and adaptation, Low carbon energy economy or Low carbon economy, Environment, finance and governance, Low carbon emission technologies, Economic model and social cost. Further research is recommended into the themes of Low carbon energy economy and Environment, social and governance, considered key issues in the future.

Starting from studies conducted in the field, the authors define sustainable economy as a global trend and identify co-creation power of circular ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova. Attention is paid to sustainable economy as based on managing resources in interest of not only contemporary generations, but also the future ones. The implementation of policies related to business interests should be closely linked to sustainable development of natural and socio-cultural ecosystems. The technologies of circular economy directly contribute to sustainable economy. The ecological crisis and the current pandemic situation are leading to a revision of socio-economic values that result in the need to form circular global ecosystem. The round table of 18.12.2020, organized by the authors within ASEM, confirmed that activists, entrepreneurs, academics and political decision makers, being driving forces of sustainable economy, capitalize on this global trend, co-creating the circular ecosystem.

In sustainable development, infrastructure has an important role, although infrastructure growth and investment have positive and negative impacts. Indonesia has a strategic program in the form of infrastructure improvement. However, due to the condition of Indonesia which is an archipelago, infrastructure development has only concentrated on Java, especially in Jakarta City. This resulted in a gap in infrastructure development outside of Java. This study identifies the relationship between infrastructure and the regional economy in Indonesia. Indonesia is an archipelagic country so that long-distance transportation, such as using airports, is an absolute necessity to support equitable economic activities and support sustainable development. The relationship between traffic on airports and regional economies is still debating and growing. Therefore, by looking at the characteristics of the archipelagic country, it is interesting to see the relationship between infrastructure and the regional economy in Indonesia. This research aims to provide an understanding of the effect of economic growth in airports and be able to be a stakeholder consideration to making policies about air transportation and regional economic growth evenly on island geography conditions such as Indonesia. The relationship between the two in this study is shown by looking at traffic in airports and 17 economic sectors of GRDP in six different regencies with similar characteristics. The model show the relationship in this study. This model built using a regression approach. The results of this model show the relationship between traffic in airports with regional economic sectors, especially outside the island of Java. The results of this study can be concluded that the effect is found between the economic sectors of the region on the existence of airports

• Enhanced renewable energy market predictive accuracy using hybridizing RNNs and CNNs. • Efficient feature selection using MHC algorithm to enhance model efficiency. • Robust generalization using hybrid model integrates RNNs, CNNs, and MHC. Our research introduces a novel hybrid model aimed at driving the sustainable economy by innovating efficiency in forecasting renewable resource market trends for recovery. The fusion of Hierarchical Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and LeNet-5 Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) capitalizes on the distinct advantages of both architectures. RNNs capture temporal dependencies, while CNNs identify spatial patterns, providing a holistic understanding of market dynamics. This symbiosis significantly enhances predictive accuracy, empowering stakeholders with more reliable insights into the trajectory of renewable resource markets. Efficient feature selection is achieved through the incorporation of the Modified Hill Climbing (MHC) algorithm. As an evolutionary feature selection technique, MHC dynamically refines input features during the learning process, adapting to the evolving nature of renewable resource markets. This adaptive feature selection not only improves computational efficiency and interpretability but also ensures a focus on the most relevant information, aligning with the goal of driving sustainable circular economic recovery. The fortified hybrid model, harmonizing RNNs, CNNs, and MHC, showcases heightened robustness and generalization across diverse market conditions. By effectively merging deep learning architectures with an evolutionary feature selection process, the model adeptly captures intricate patterns while mitigating overfitting. This contribution underscores the applicability of the proposed approach to real-world scenarios, positioning it as a catalyst for innovative efficiency in renewable resource markets—a pivotal driver for the recovery of the sustainable economy. The links between the real and financial spheres are well recognized in the literature. However, under the conditions of sustainability, both the perception of the real and financial spheres, as well as the relations between them, change. The aim of this article is to show that sustainable finance has an impact on building a sustainable economy, and the model of sustainable finance increases the degree of adjustment of the financial sphere to the real economy. The research was conducted based on 86 articles. The methodology is based on log-linear models. As a result, it was proved that sustainable enterprises and finances are the factors that most frequently interact with other variables describing a sustainable economy. The study proposes the financial model for sustainable economy, this is the main novelty and contribution of the study. The original contribution of the study includes: the comprehensive analysis of the factors and relationships between sustainability, economy and finance; building a triple layered finance model for sustainable economy taking into account governance, society and environment from sustainable perspective; proposing the model of financing for the circular economy in terms of sustainability in terms of the process and defining the model of sustainable finance 4.0. Abstract Background Terpenes are remarkably diverse natural structures, which can be formed via two different pathways leading to two common intermediates. Among those, sesquiterpenes represent a variety of industrially relevant products. One important industrially produced product is β-farnesene as a precursor for a jet fuel additive. So far, microbial terpene production has been mostly limited to known production hosts, which are only able to grow on heterotrophic substrates. Results In this paper, we for the first time describe β-farnesene production by the versatile bacterial host Cupriavidus necator on fructose, which is known to grow hetero- and autotrophically and even in bioelectrochemical systems. We were able to show a growth-dependent production of β-farnesene by expressing the β-farnesene synthase from Artemisia annua in C. necator H16 PHB-4. Additionally, we performed a scale-up in a parallel reactor system with production titers of 26.3 ± 1.3 µM β-farnesene with a fed-batch process. Conclusions The β-farnesene production titers reported in this paper are not in the same range as titers published with known heterotrophic producers E. coli or S. cerevisiae. However, this proof-of-principle study with C. necator as production host opens new synthesis routes toward a sustainable economy and leaves room for further optimizations, which have been already performed with the known production strains.

Sustainable development represents one of the key items on the agenda of governments across the globe. In parallel, numerous important acts on sustainable development have been adopted on both international and national levels, proclaiming ambitious targets on building fossil-fuel-free economies, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and environmental protection. However, some countries, particularly the Scandinavian region, significantly lead when it comes to the fulfilment of sustainable development targets, hence being a useful example for other countries to follow. On the other side, Serbia, a developing Southeast European country aiming to become an EU member state, is still at the early phase of transition towards a greener economy. Therefore, in this study, a comparative analysis between Serbia and Denmark has been conducted in the fields of clean energy production, sustainable manufacturing, and investments in green technology, to derive some useful lessons that can be applied to Serbia. Results suggest that, opposite to Serbia, broader inclusion of different stakeholder groups was implemented in Denmark, thereby ensuring decentralisation and democratisation of the whole process. Exactly in these areas could be found points for further improvements in Serbia, related to the wider political debate and stakeholders' inclusion, regulatory changes, decentralisation of energy sector, and broader involvement of financial institutions.

Electric vehicles have been identified as a viable option for optimization of the energy structure to foster energy conservation and a reduction in emissions, as well as to promote the development of a sustainable economy. Recently, China announced that the financial subsidies for electric vehicles will be gradually withdrawn, and many incentive policies will be revised, indicating that the electric vehicle market has transformed from a policy-driven to a market-driven structure. Therefore, we study the elements affecting consumers' purchase intention in the early stage of electric vehicle availability to provide a theoretical reference that can be used in China to continue to stimulate market diffusion of electric vehicles based on the innovation diffusion theory and planned behavior theory. The current study explains the associations among the innovation characteristics, perceived risk, and purchase intention in relation to electric vehicles and details the moderating effect of lifestyle on fashion consciousness, environmental consciousness, and price consciousness. This paper investigates 529 potential consumers in Beijing, Shanghai, and other places, and AMOS and SPSS were used to perform quantitative analyses. The results show that innovation characteristics exert an obvious effect on purchase intention based on the mediating variable of perceived risk. Fashion consciousness significantly moderates the relationship between relative advantage and perceived risk, and environmental consciousness has a significant influence on the relationship between technology compatibility and perceived risk. Price consciousness plays the smallest role in this process. In practice, the findings suggest that practitioners can promote electric vehicle consumer purchase intention by using psychological activation techniques to improve the attitude and educational interest in relation to this product. The silk industry has played an important role in encouraging investment in infrastructure, generating revenue for the government, and creating direct and indirect employment throughout the country. One of the strategies for sustainable rural development is the development and expansion of industries in rural areas. Noghandari industry in Iran exists in both industrial and traditional forms andthe share of the traditional sector in this profession is more than 70%, which is currently common in the villages of Natanz city in Isfahan province as a main occupation among the residents of this region. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and survey method. The statistical population of the study was 1050 Noghans of Natanz city in ten exploiting villages of Noghan, which include 372 exploiting families and the sample size was 189 by Cochran method. In this study, factor analysis model and Pearson test were used to analyze the data. The results show that economic efficiency and the existence of the required basic infrastructure (18.36% variance), social promotion and product quality improvement of (8.64% variance) and further adherence to the principles of sustainable agriculture, which is an environmental effect(0.68% of variance) has the secondary effect of noghandari on the rural environment and residents and activists in this area. Also, the policy of holding training and extension courses did not have any constructive effect. The initial policies for equipping as well as guaranteed purchase have a positive effect on the production of wet silk cocoons in Natanz city. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Economic diversification is vital in achieving sustainable economic development. This diversification is chiefly important for countries relying on natural resources for their economy, such as Qatar. Private enterprises, mainly through small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), have been recognized as crucial and effective means for healthy economic diversification, stimulating economic development, and ensuring equal sharing and distribution of wealth. Recognizing the vulnerabilities within the current economic model has motivated Qatar to relentlessly diversify away from its heavy reliance on natural gas exports. Such diversified and sustainable development cannot be achieved without the contribution of women, who make up a significant percentage of the educated and talented population in this country. However, despite the conspicuous support the state has been providing them with in an aim to promote for their active economic participation as part of Qatar National Vision 2030, women's full potential to contribute both socially and economically is either hindered or not fully acknowledged due to several socio-economic factors. There is a dearth of studies reporting on the perceived status, challenges, and access to needed resources by women entrepreneurs in Qatar. To address such scarcity, this study builds, in a first step, on a systematic literature review (SLR) to unlock themes related to women and entrepreneurship by analyzing 23 peer-reviewed articles concentrating on the cases of Qatar and the MENA region. Subsequently, a qualitative approach is followed to investigate and examine current successes and obstacles by interviewing 25 actual and aspiring women entrepreneurs in Qatar as well as 5 incubators and government representatives. In a final stage, and based on a design thinking approach and applying the gender-aware framework (known as the 5Ms framework), the paper proposes a preliminary conceptual framework to address the pertaining barriers and pave the way for more progressive policies to cater to the needs of women entrepreneurs and to further promote for sustainable development. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to answer the question: does the pandemic affect the ability to achieve the sustainable development goals? Design/methodology/approach: The article analyzes selected, available literature on sustainable development, from the genesis of the phenomenon to the current situation. It invoked, among other things, the idea of the European Green Deal. The most current issues related to the pandemic reality were addressed. The themes and changes highlighted are based on data from available reports and statistical analyses. Findings: By the time the pandemic broke out, the sustainability goals had been achieved gradually. But the pandemic has forced policymakers to think long-term. The conditions for transition to the green economy, i.e. the green transition, have also become crucial. In many countries, including Poland, the need for better achievement of social goals in addition to economic or environmental ones has become apparent. Further work is needed to achieve the sustainable development goals. Research limitations/implications: The text refers to a limited number of studies. The problems presented in the paper still need to be empirically confirmed in relation to a greater number of examples, which should result in the publication of subsequent studies. It will also be necessary to fully diagnose the post-pandemic situation and retrace the threads taken up. Sustainable management of natural resources is one of the major objectives of society. The well-being of the planet depends on the use of these resources. Based on these needs, the circular economy is an economic concept that interacts with sustainability and whose goal is to keep the value of products, materials and resources in the economy for as long as possible and to minimize waste production. The basic principle of the circular economy is the "closing of the life cycle" of goods, services, waste, materials, water and energy. In this paper we aim to bring to the fore the importance of efficient use of resources for sustainable economic growth, starting from the concept of circulating economy. At the same time, we will analyze the main indicators underlying the new economic model supported by the European Union.

At present, awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability is increasingly widespread. The global community has also realized that this earth does not belong to this generation alone. In each period, various kinds of movements were introduced to encourage sustainable development. But what exactly is the difference between these proposed movements? This research with the literature review method will identify sustainable business movements from 1990 to the present. From the results of existing identification, this study will recommend which movements are realistic to implement in Indonesia, which has a unique character than other countries in the world.

Implying a technology-driven approach to wealth generation from organic materials, the term has taken hold with so far limited critical engagement. It is a contestable rather than contested term. Noting the rise of numerous other ‘economies’ (blue, green, circular) on a similar timeframe, this paper undertakes a critical discourse analysis of academic literature and UK/EU policy documents using the term ‘bioeconomy’ to produce a contextualised understanding of how it is used in both theoretical and practical contexts. Our analysis shows that bioeconomy, as with the other ‘sustainability’ economies, which we term the ‘S-economies’, prioritises the economy and the markets as the solution brokers for the environmental and economic problems they seek to address. The apparent fragmentation of the theory and policy concerning the environmental sustainability of economic activity is expressed through the variability of terms that aspire to establish multiple economies functioning at the same time. Limited empirical analysis of the existing ‘bioeconomy’ is symptomatic of the dissociation between theory and practice, emphasizing technological approaches favouring capital intensive approaches over local solutions. The S-economies, including the bioeconomy, are an attempt to bypass economic structural realities that otherwise would need to be addressed.

Entrepreneurial innovations lead to transformations in the existing business model, involving them integrating the new knowledge into the established entrepreneurial activities. The current study combines marketing strategies, entrepreneurial innovation, absorptive capacity, and consumer purchasing behavior in the health sector. This study investigates the impact of packaging and labeling strategies on entrepreneurial innovation and consumer purchasing behavior. Therefore, this study also investigates the mediating effect of entrepreneurial innovation between packaging and labeling strategies and consumer purchasing behavior. The study examines the moderating role of absorptive capacity between entrepreneurial innovation and consumer purchasing behavior. While using convenience sampling, this study used the consumer of medications as a sample from China. The research adopted a quantitative method to conduct the study analysis. A well-structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale has used for the study analysis. The adopted questionnaires were utilized in data collection with 702 with a 70% response rate, and Smart PLS was used to analyze the data. The findings of this study indicate that packaging and labeling strategies significantly influence entrepreneurial innovation and consumer purchasing behavior. Entrepreneurial innovation significantly mediates the packaging and labeling strategies and consumer purchasing behavior. The moderating role of absorptive capacity significantly affects entrepreneurial innovation and consumer purchasing behavior. The implications of the investigated model with innovative marketing strategies give new insights for managerial, policymakers, and research perspectives.

Nowadays, the pedestrian streets in Hanoi have been invested and expanded by the city government, not only a place to organize commercial services, shopping, tourism, food, entertainment, recreation but also an important factor contributing to improving living conditions and promoting local economic development. Through the method of surveying, map, and experts, it shows remarkable achievements of the pedestrian streets in Hanoi. The huge economic benefits and the potential to increase the outstanding real estate value that the pedestrian streets bring many small and medium enterprises, especially family businesses to find a suitable way to develop business models. The pedestrian streets’ success is proven by the rise of real estate in the area. The pedestrian streets have really become a level to help increase the value of real estate in Hanoi. This article will clarify the value of real estate when forming pedestrian streets in Hanoi, especially in the historic inner city. From there, make recommendations on the organization of architectural space and landscape of the pedestrian streets to enhance the value of real estate in the future.

The paper contains the author’s definition of a sustainable economy as a concept of post-globalism; models of countries’ transition to sustainable economic, taking into account the required institutional and infrastructural transformations of the state regulation of the economy; methodology for assessing the economic stability of states in the dynamics of world economic relations. Paper defines the concept of modernizing the principles of state economic regulation; proves statistically that the geographical factor is a main determinant of the traditional and environmental predictors of capital sustainability; based on the results of comparative analysis of the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators of the world during the pandemic, the adequacy of the authors’ assessment of the economic stability of states is substantiates.
