The aim of the study was to determine the species composition of the intestinal parasite fauna of foxes from the Pomerania region, with a particular emphasis on helminth species considered dangerous to humans, and to determine their prevalence and intensity of infection. In total, 165 digestive systems from foxes inhabiting the Pomeranian region were examined. The prevalence of intestinal parasites among the studied foxes was 61.8%. Our findings confirm that foxes in Pomerania carry various parasites, some of which pose a direct threat to human health. As such, constant monitoring of their infestation is essential. Particular attention should be paid to parasite species with potential for transmission to humans, such as Echinococcus multilocularis, Alaria alata and Toxocara canis, whose respective prevalence was found to be 10.9%, 17.6% and 28.5%. Introduction. In the conditions of martial law, an important role belongs to modern military equipment, which includes unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Оperators of UAS in the course of combat missions are significantly affected by the stress factor. It provokes the occurrence of stress-associated diseases in them, therefore, studying the specifics of the impact of stress-associated diseases on the psychophysiological state of operators determines the relevance of this study. The purpose of the study. To establish the patterns of influence of stress-associated diseases of the digestive organs on the psychophysiological state of the operators of unmanned aircraft systems. Obesity and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are widespread among the children and have common developmental mechanisms. The article provides a literature review on the relationships between certain pathological conditions of the digestive system (gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastritis, functional intestinal disorders, Crohn’s disease, diverticular disease) in children with overweight and obesity. Excess body weight and obesity can become risk factors for the development of gastrointestinal pathology. The data available in modern literature on changes in the composition of the intestinal and stomach microbiocenosis with increasing body weight are summarized (changes in enterotype, increase in the Firmicutеs/Bacteroides ratio, increase in the number of bacteria Methanobrevibacter, Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii and Lactobacillus reuteri). The strains of bacteria that contribute to the anorexigenic effect are considered: Lactobacillus gasseri, some strains of Bifidobacterium, Saccharomyces, Streptococcus and Enterococcus. The pathogenetic aspects of obesity and overweight caused by microbiota are presented: activation of lipid synthesis, breakdown of polysaccharides, absorption of mono- and disaccharides, development of metabolic endotoxemia, etc. Features of the functioning of the autonomic nervous system in obesity in children are presented, indicating the predominance of the hypersympathicotonic variant of autonomic reactivity.

Digestive system tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Despite ongoing research, our understanding of their mechanisms and treatment remain inadequate. One promising tool for clinical applications is the use of gastrointestinal tract tumor organoids, which serve as an important in vitro model. Tumor organoids exhibit a genotype similar to the patient's tumor and effectively mimic various biological processes, including tissue renewal, stem cell, and ecological niche functions, and tissue response to drugs, mutations, or injury. As such, they are valuable for drug screening, developing novel drugs, assessing patient outcomes, and supporting immunotherapy. In addition, innovative materials and techniques can be used to optimize tumor organoid culture systems. Several applications of digestive system tumor organoids have been described and have shown promising results in related aspects. As a traditional Chinesemedicinal herb with a long history, Codonopsis pilosula (CP) has attracted much attention from the medical community in recent years. This review summarizes the research progress of CP in the medical field in the past 5 years. By searching and analyzing the literature, and combining with Cytoscape software, we comprehensively examined the role and mechanism of action of CP in individual application, combination drug application, and the role andmechanism of action of codonopsis pilosula's active ingredients in a variety of diseases. It also analyzes the medicinal use of CP and its application value in medicine. This review found that CP mainly manifests important roles in several diseases, such as cardiovascular system, nervous system, digestive system, immune system, etc., and regulates the development of many diseases mainly through the mechanisms of inflammation regulation, oxidative stress, immunomodulation and apoptosis. Its rich pharmacological activities and diverse medicinal effects endow CP with broad prospects and application values. Various clinical symptoms of digestive system, such as infectious, inflammatory, and malignant disorders, have a profound impact on the quality of life and overall health of patients. Therefore, the chase for more potent medicines is both highly significant and urgent. Nanozymes, a novel class of nanomaterials, amalgamate the biological properties of nanomaterials with the catalytic activity of enzymes, and have been engineered for various biomedical applications, including complex gastrointestinal diseases (GI). Particularly, because of their distinctive metal coordination structure and ability to maximize atom use efficiency, single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes) with atomically scattered metal centers are becoming a more viable substitute for natural enzymes. Traditional nanozyme design strategies are no longer able to meet the current requirements for efficient and diverse SAzymes design due to the diversification and complexity of preparation processes. As a result, this review emphasizes the design concept and the synthesis strategy of SAzymes, and corresponding bioenzyme-like activities, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), oxidase (OXD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx). Background: The Daur people are one of the 55 minority ethnic groups in China and have lived in Northern China for 300 years. In traditional Daur medicine, medicinal and edible plants (MEPs) are utilised for health benefits and therapeutic purposes; however, related ethnobotanical knowledge is rarely reported, which is disadvantageous for the sustainable development of these MEPs. Methods: Semi-structured interviews with 122 informants, six focus group discussions, and a resource survey were conducted in a Daur minority nationality area in Inner Mongolia from 2015 to 2020, and the data statistics were analysed. In this study, we simulated a system dynamics model aimed at understanding the multiple feedback mechanisms involved in the relationships between the cultural influences and socioeconomic factors, sustainable environment, and development of MEPs. Results: A total of 52 species of MEPs were identified and relevant ethnobotanical knowledge was assessed using Daur medicinal species data from Inner Mongolia and the Xinjiang region, with the literature and Ewenki ethnic group data used for comparison. The most commonly used medicinal plant species by the Daur were found to be Betula pendula subsp. mandshurica, Artemisia integrifolia, Crataegus pinnatifida, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Artemisia argyi, and Jacobaea cannabifolia. The MEPs most frequently targeted the digestive and rheumatic immunity systems, as well as infectious diseases or parasitic infections and other common diseases and basic health issues. MEP knowledge was primarily limited to older generations; thus, the valuable ethnobotanical knowledge on traditional medicines must be protected from future losses. Conclusions: Our findings provide insights for future research aimed at exploiting the rich phytochemical diversity in traditional medicine and promote its use in modern lifestyles. Gastric ulcers and gastric cancer are brought on by the Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which colonizes under the stomach mucous membrane. Summary: Background: Telehealth is a growing model of care, greatly accelerated with the demands of the COVID‐19 pandemic. Telecare is a synchronous audio‐visual or audio‐only format of health delivery. Aims: To evaluate the existing literature on telecare within adult gastroenterology subspecialties to determine if outcomes are comparable to traditional in‐person consultations and to highlight the Pokapū Network, a local initiative in the Lakes Region of New Zealand, amongst these international findings. Methods: We completed an OVID MEDLINE search using the terms gastroenterology, endoscopy, digestive system, inflammatory bowel disease, functional, hepatology, liver, telemedicine, telehealth, videoconferencing, remote consultation, video clinic and telephone clinic. Results: Patients showed positive attitudes towards telecare and, in several reports, would elect to have telecare consults in the future. Telecare reduces travel time and out‐of‐pocket costs for patients and the need for patients to take time off work. Generally, patients engaging with telecare show equivalent health outcomes to patients engaging with traditional models of care. Patients from ethnic minority groups or lower socio‐economic backgrounds, or who are older, are less likely to complete a 'successful' telecare consult. Conclusion: Telecare is a useful model of care to allow gastroenterology centres to function within the context of COVID‐19 isolation and beyond. It has significant benefits for patients who face geographical and financial barriers to accessing healthcare. Telecare models such as the Pokapū Network hold promise in reducing inequities for gastroenterology patients. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a highly prevalent malignancy affecting the digestive system on a global scale. This study aimed to explore the previously unexplored role of CHPF in the progression of CRC. Our results revealed a significant upregulation of CHPF expression in CRC tumour tissues compared to normal tissues, with its levels correlating with tumour malignancy. In vitro experiments using CRC cell lines demonstrated that inhibiting CHPF expression suppressed cell proliferation, colony formation and cell migration, while promoting apoptosis. Conversely, overexpressing CHPF had the opposite effect. Additionally, our xenograft models in mice confirmed the inhibitory impact of CHPF knockdown on CRC progression using various cell models. Mechanistic investigations unveiled that CHPF may enhance VEGFB expression through E2F1‐mediated transcription. Functionally, suppressing VEGFB expression successfully mitigated the oncogenic effects induced by CHPF overexpression. Collectively, these findings suggest that CHPF may act as a tumour promoter in CRC, operating in a VEGFB‐dependent manner and could be a potential target for therapeutic interventions in CRC treatment. The spotted seatrout (Cynoscion nebulosus)—an important commercial species—has a high potential for aquaculture in the Gulf of Mexico. To optimize its feeding during larval rearing, this study aims to evaluate the primary gastric (pepsin), intestinal (leucine aminopeptidase and alkaline phosphatase), and pancreatic (alkaline protease, trypsin, chymotrypsin, amylase, and lipase) enzyme activities from hatching to day 30. A multivariate analysis identified three digestive enzyme development stages during the spotted seatrout larval transformation. The first stage occurred between 1 (mean ± standard error (SE) = 1.73 ± 0.14 millimeter (mm) standard length (SL)) and 3 (2.14 ± 0.07 mm SL) days after hatching (DAH); a period of digestive stability showed the highest activity in amylase and bile salt-dependent lipase. The second stage (from 4 (2.53 ± 0.09 mm SL) to 20 (10.92 ± 0.51 mm SL) DAH) was a period of digestive transition, during which leucine aminopeptidase, chymotrypsin, and alkaline proteases were identified as the predominant enzymes from 4 to 5 DAH. In the third stage—a period of digestive stability—pepsin was the major enzyme that occurred between 25 (16.51 ± 0.81 mm SL) and 30 (25.91 ± 0.82 mm SL) DAH. These results indicate that the spotted seatrout larvae have a digestive system adapted to lipids and carbohydrates at the onset of feeding, with an immediate transition to protein digestion when exogenous feeding begins. Additionally, the digestive system of the spotted seatrout may be considered mature at 25 DAH. The expanding geriatric population, whose predisposition toward disabling morbidities and age-related diseases (ARD) is well-documented, has become a paramount social issue, exerting an onerous burden on both the healthcare industry and wider society. ARD manifest as the progressive deterioration of bodily tissues and organs, eventually resulting in the failure of these vital components. At present, no efficacious measures exist to hinder the onset of ARD. Copper, an essential trace element, is involved in a wide range of physiological processes across different cell types. In recent research, a novel variant of copper-dependent cell death, termed cuproptosis, has been identified. This mode of cellular demise stands apart from previously recognized types of cell death. Cuproptosis occurs when copper binds with acyl-CoA synthetase in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, resulting in protein aggregation and protein toxicity stress, ultimately leading to cell death. In this paper, we provide a concise overview of the current understanding concerning the metabolism of copper, copper-related diseases, the hallmarks of copper toxicity, and the mechanisms that regulate copper toxicity. Additionally, we discuss the implications of cuproptosis mutations in the development of ARD, as well as the potential for targeting cuproptosis as a treatment for ARD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study explores the interplay between digestive tract traits, food intake, and assimilation in omnivorous tetra fishes (Psalidodon bifasciatus, P. aff. gymnodontus, and Bryconamericus ikaa) from the Iguaçu River basin, an ecologically significant region known for high endemism. We hypothesize that variations in digestive tracts across species would be associated with differences in diet, isotopic composition in fish tissues, and overall diet assimilation. To test this, we employed stereoscopic and light microscopy to characterize the gross anatomy, histomorphology, and histochemistry of fish digestive tracts. Additionally, we used stomach content and stable isotope analyses to trace fish diets. While these tetra fishes shared histological structures, disparities were noted in anatomical digestive traits and diet preferences. The smallest species, B. ikaa, with a shorter intestine, had fewer pyloric caeca and primarily consumed animal‐based diets. Conversely, P. bifasciatus and P. aff. gymnodontus, with longer intestines, displayed numerous pyloric caeca and consumed a balanced mix of animal and plant items. Despite anatomical and dietary differences, all three species predominantly assimilated animal‐origin food. The tetra fishes had histological variations among digestive tract segments, with the esophagus having the thickest muscular layer, gradually thinning towards the posterior intestine. The final portion of the intestine exhibited a significant expansion in the lumen perimeter, while the esophagus had the smallest lumen area. Goblet cells were most concentrated in the posterior intestine for all species. The gross anatomy of these tetra fishes aligns with their omnivorous habit, while diet assimilation was dominated by animal‐origin food. These findings provide crucial insights into the structural and tissue characteristics of their digestive systems, laying the groundwork for deeper exploration into the physiological aspects of their digestive tracts and enhancing our understanding of their feeding strategies. • Nanoscale zinc oxide (n-ZnO) transformed into amorphous Zn 3 (PO 4) 2 in the synthetic saliva. • The transformation and toxicity of n-ZnO was dependent on the exposed facet. • The {1010} relative to {0001} facet had superior dissolution due to lower vacancy formation energy. • Compared to {0001} facet, the {1010} facet resulted in lower viability of Caco-2 cells. • DFT calculations illusrated the facet-dependent transformation and toxicity. The nanoscale zinc oxide (n-ZnO) was used in food packages due to its superior antibacterial activity, resulting in potential intake of n-ZnO through the digestive system, wherein n-ZnO interacted with saliva. In recent, facet engineering, a technique for controlling the exposed facets, was applied to n-ZnO, whereas risk of n-ZnO with specific exposed facets in saliva was ignored. ZnO nanoflakes (ZnO-0001) and nanoneedles (ZnO-1010) with the primary exposed facets of {0001} and {1010} respectively were prepared in this study, investigating stability and toxicity of ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 in synthetic saliva. Both ZnO-0001 and ZnO-1010 partially transformed into amorphous Zn 3 (PO 4) 2 within 1 hr in the saliva even containing orgnaic components, forming a ZnO-Zn 3 (PO 4) 2 core-shell structure. Nevertheless, ZnO-1010 relative to ZnO-0001 would likely transform into Zn 3 (PO 4) 2 , being attributed to superior dissolution of {1010} facet due to its lower vacancy formation energy (1.15 eV) than {0001} facet (3.90 eV). The toxicity of n-ZnO to Caco-2 cells was also dependent on the primary exposed facet; ZnO-0001 caused cell toxicity through oxidative stress, whereas ZnO-1010 resulted in lower cells viability than ZnO-0001 through oxidative stress and membrane damage. Density functional theory calculations illustrated that ·O 2 − was formed and released on {1010} facet, yet O 2 2− instead of ·O 2 − was generated on {0001} facet, leading to low oxidative stress from ZnO-0001. All findings demonstrated that stability and toxicity of n-ZnO were dependent on the primary exposed facet, improving our understanding of health risk of nanomaterials. We investigated the geographical distribution and feeding habits of Arabesque greenling Pleurogrammus azonus larvae along the Tatehama coast of Hokkaido Japan and its eastern waters from November to February. The goal was to gain insights into choice of spawning grounds and early life history. Yolk-sac larvae were predominantly found in the surface water layer near the Tatehama coast during late January to late February, and they were transported to the offshore regions by the Tsushima-Tsugaru Warm Current. During the early developmental stages, the yolk-sac larvae primarily fed on Oithona similis copepodites, which are larger than the copepod nauplii consumed by other marine fish species. Our observations of high feeding activity in the surface layer in offshore deep-water areas led us to hypothesize that the Tatehama coast may serve as a spawning ground for adult P. azonus due to its proximity to offshore areas, allowing larvae to quickly reach suitable feeding grounds after hatching. The larger egg diameter, longer body length, larger eyes with guanine pigmentation, coiled digestive system, and heavy body pigmentation of P. azonus suggest their ability to prey on copepodites and maintain sustained feeding intensity. Phytosterols are a large group of substances belonging to sterols—compounds naturally occurring in the tissues of plants, animals, and humans. The most well-known animal sterol is cholesterol. Among phytosterols, the most significant compounds are β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol. At present, they are mainly employed in functional food products designed to counteract cardiovascular disorders by lowering levels of 'bad' cholesterol, which stands as their most extensively studied purpose. It is currently understood that phytosterols may also alleviate conditions associated with the gastrointestinal system. Their beneficial pharmacological properties in relation to gastrointestinal tract include anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective activity. Also, the anti-cancer properties as well as the impact on the gut microbiome could be a very interesting area of research, which might potentially lead to the discovery of their new application. This article provides consolidated knowledge on a new potential use of phytosterols, namely the treatment or prevention of gastrointestinal diseases. The cited studies indicate high therapeutic efficacy in conditions such as peptic ulcer disease, IBD or liver failure caused by hepatotoxic xenobiotics, however, these are mainly in vitro or in vivo studies. Nevertheless, studies to date indicate their therapeutic potential as adjunctive treatments to conventional therapies, which often exhibit unsatisfactory efficacy or serious side effects. To compare real-world treatment persistence, dose escalation, rates of opportunistic or serious infections, and healthcare costs in patients with Crohn's disease (CD) receiving vedolizumab (VDZ) vs ustekinumab (UST) in the United States. A retrospective observational study in adults with CD initiated on VDZ or UST on/after 26 September 2016, was performed using the IBM Truven Health MarketScan databases (1 January 2009–30 September 2018). Rates of treatment persistence, dose escalation, opportunistic or serious infection–related encounters, and healthcare costs per patient per month (PPPM) were evaluated. Entropy balancing was used to balance patient characteristics between cohorts. Event rates were assessed using weighted Kaplan-Meier analyses and compared between cohorts using log-rank tests. Healthcare costs were compared between cohorts using weighted 2-part models. 589 VDZ and 599 UST patients were included (172 [29.2%] and 117 [19.5%] were bio-naïve, respectively). After weighting, baseline characteristics were comparable between cohorts. No significant difference in rates of treatment persistence (12-month: VDZ, 76.5%; UST, 82.1%; p =.17), dose escalation (12-month: VDZ, 29.3%; UST, 32.7%; p =.97), or opportunistic or serious infection–related encounters were observed between VDZ and UST. Total mean healthcare costs were significantly lower for patients treated with VDZ vs UST (mean cost difference = –$5051 PPPM; p <.01). Findings were consistent in bio-naïve patients. In this real-world study, similar treatment persistence, dose escalation, and rates of opportunistic or serious infections were observed with VDZ- and UST-treated patients with CD. However, VDZ was associated with a significantly lower cost outlay for healthcare systems. Crohn's disease (CD) causes inflammation in the digestive system. Vedolizumab (VDZ) and ustekinumab (UST) are therapies for patients with CD. Little is known about the clinical outcomes and healthcare costs of VDZ versus UST in the real world in the United States. We used health claims data and found that VDZ and UST had comparable real-world clinical outcomes. After 12 months of treatment, the proportions of patients with CD who stayed on treatment and those who needed to increase therapy dose were similar with VDZ and UST. The rate of infection was also similar between the two groups of patients. However, the monthly healthcare costs were $5051 less for patients treated with VDZ than with UST. This was mainly due to the lower cost of VDZ, which was almost half of that of UST. The lower treatment costs with VDZ may provide substantial savings for the healthcare system and patients specifically. Summary: Adult female entomoparasitic nematodes of the order Tylenchida have degenerate digestive organs and body surfaces that lack cuticles and are covered with microvilli. These morphologic features indicate that tylenchids absorb nutrients via the integument. A previous study hypothesised that the nutrient intake of entomoparasitic tylenchids evolved from oral to transdermal in a step-by-step manner, and this evolutionary process is reflected in the development of the integument ultrastructure of these species. However, the evolution of the nutrient absorption of entomoparasitic tylenchids remains unclear. This evolution has not been phylogenetically examined because of a lack of information on the integument structure associated with phylogenetic relationships. In the present study, we examined the integument ultrastructure and molecular sequence of four entomoparasitic tylenchids: Bradynema sp., Contortylenchus sp., C. genitalicola and Deladenus sp. The body surface of Bradynema sp. was covered with microvilli, suggesting that Bradynema sp. absorbs nutrients via the integument. By contrast, the body surfaces of Contortylenchus sp., C. genitalicola and Deladenus sp. were covered with a thin cuticle-like layer and well-developed epidermis without microvilli, suggesting that these species absorb nutrients only partially via the integument. We also classified the nutrient absorption mode based on the integument ultrastructure and molecular phylogenetic analysis of entomoparasitic tylenchids in previous studies. Our maximum parsimony analysis supported the step-by-step evolution hypothesised in the previous study. Grain polyphenols are known to possess several health properties. However, their digestive stability and intestinal absorption have not been fully elucidated. This study investigated the fate of pigmented grain polyphenols in the digestive system. Purple rice, purple barley, purple wheat, and blue wheat extracts were subjected to simulated gastric and intestinal phase digestion, followed by Caco‐2 cellular transport. Phenolic profiling and antioxidant activity were determined using benchtop assays and an ultra‐high‐performance liquid chromatography–2,2′‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid free radical) (UHPLC‐ABTS•+) system. The results demonstrated a decrease in the total phenolic content of extracts after digestion, with purple rice extract retaining the highest phenolic content (79%) and ABTS•+antioxidant activity (31%). Antioxidant activity was retained the most during the gastric phase; however, dominant antioxidant compounds were not detected after intestinal digestion. Significant variations in phenolic composition and radical scavenging activity were detected after digestion. Protocatechuic acid, vanillic acid, apigenin, and chrysoeriol were all transported across the intestinal barrier. Our gastrointestinal system, often referred to as our "second brain," is grappling with the devastating effects of COVID-19, a disease that has plagued recent years. Researchers are investigating how bacteria in the intestinal microflora may contribute to or mitigate liver damage caused by COVID-19. Despite the limited number of studies, the fight against liver organ damage by the gastrointestinal system, which is our second brain is important. All original articles published in English until March 01, 2020, were retrieved via a library-assisted literature search from PubMed/MEDLINE, Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), and Web of Science. A total of nine articles (2.188 patients) were found eligible for inclusion. Effect size and 95% confidence interval were evaluated in this study. The randomized trials exhibit a noteworthy level of heterogeneity (p<0.05), and upon scrutinizing the funnel plot, there is no discernible indication of publication bias. According to the meta-analysis tree graph, the weights of the studies are significantly to the right of the 2 vertical lines. The confidence interval of each study has significant weights. According to the study findings, the interaction of the intestinal flora and the immune system showed us that there is an area that we need to investigate against the COVID-19 disease. For many years, research has tried to explain how the signaling pathways in the intestinal tract are related to the brain. The leptin receptor, encoded by the LEPR gene, is involved in tumorigenesis. A potential functional variant of LEPR , rs1137101 (Gln223Arg), has been extensively investigated for its contribution to the risk of digestive system (DS) cancers, but results remain conflicting rather than conclusive. Here, we performed a case–control study and subsequent meta-analysis to examine the association between rs1137101 and DS cancer risk. A total of 1,727 patients with cancer (gastric/liver/colorectal: 460/480/787) and 800 healthy controls were recruited. Genotyping of rs1137101 was conducted using a polymerase chain reactionrestriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) assay and confirmed using Sanger sequencing. Twenty-four eligible studies were included in the meta-analysis. After Bonferroni correction, the case–control study revealed that rs1137101 was significantly associated with the risk of liver cancer in the Hubei Chinese population. The meta-analysis suggested that rs1137101 is significantly associated with the risk of overall DS, gastric, and liver cancer in the Chinese population. Background: The COBLL1 gene has been implicated in human central obesity, fasting insulin levels, type 2 diabetes, and blood lipid profiles. However, its molecular mechanisms remain largely unexplored. Methods: In this study, we established cobll1a mutant lines using the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene knockout technique. To further dissect the molecular underpinnings of cobll1a during early development, transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis was employed. Results: Our study showed that compared to the control, cobll1a-/-zebrafish embryos exhibited impaired development of digestive organs, including the liver, intestine, and pancreas, at 4 days post-fertilization (dpf). Transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis results showed that in cobll1a knockout group, the expression level of genes in the Retinoic Acid (RA) signaling pathway was affected, and the expression level of lipid metabolismrelated genes (fasn, scd, elovl2, elovl6, dgat1a, srebf1 and srebf2) were significantly changed (p < 0.01), leading to increased lipid synthesis and decreased lipid catabolism. The expression level of apolipoprotein genes (apoa1a, apoa1b, apoa2, apoa4a, apoa4b, and apoea) genes were downregulated. Conclusion: Our study suggest that the loss of cobll1a resulted in disrupted RA metabolism, reduced lipoprotein expression, and abnormal lipid transport, therefore contributing to lipid accumulation and deleterious effects on early liver development. Understanding heat‐related impacts is crucial to improving public awareness of addressing urban heat challenges and enabling decision makers to mainstream heat action plans. This study explores heat‐related physiological and psychological impacts, symptoms, and demographic determinants based on 4210 questionnaires across nine large Chinese cities, including Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Xi'an in August 2020. The results indicate that heat‐related psychological impacts are equally severe as physiological impacts. Chongqing is under the most severe heat‐related health impact on both the physiological and psychological aspects. Skin heat damage (SKI), digestive system illnesses (DIG), respiratory illnesses (RES), and cardiovascular illnesses (CAR) are prominent physiological illnesses in all cities, while emotional irritability (EMO), easy to lose control temper (EAS), low mood (LOW), and insomnia (INS) are prominent psychological symptoms. Chongqing and Guangzhou are the most vulnerable cities in terms of physiological and psychological symptoms. Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Shanghai are more resilient in terms of physiological symptoms, whereas Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Shanghai are more resistant to psychological symptoms. Heat‐related health impacts, symptoms, and demographic determinants are spatially heterogeneous. The elderly and patients are more vulnerable, while such a conclusion is not always true. Chymotrypsin from the digestive organs of bigfin reef squid, a major commercial squid species in Thailand, was purified to 41-fold with 5.7% yield by a sequential purification process including ammonium sulfate precipitation, size exclusion, and ion exchange chromatography. According to SDS-PAGE, the molecular weight of purified chymotrypsin was 43 kDa. Native-PAGE analysis revealed a single band for this purified enzyme. The optimum pH and temperature for chymotrypsin activity of the purified enzyme were a pH of 7.0 with a temperature of 55 °C. The purified chymotrypsin remained stable throughout a wide range of pH levels (6–11) and at relatively high temperature (55 °C). It was significantly inhibited by PMSF and TPCK. The values of the kinetic constants Km and Kcat were found to be 1.33 mM and 31.46 s−1, respectively. The purified chymotrypsin has the N-terminal amino acid IVGGQEATPGEWPWQAALQV. This study provided new information about the biochemical properties of pure chymotrypsin from bigfin reef squid, which will be useful in the future investigation, aquaculture, and application of bigfin reef squid. Diagnosing gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, which affect parts of the digestive system such as the stomach and intestines, can be difficult even for experienced gastroenterologists due to the variety of ways these conditions present. Early diagnosis is critical for successful treatment, but the review process is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) methods provide a solution by automating diagnosis, saving time, reducing workload, and lowering the likelihood of missing critical signs. In recent years, machine learning and deep learning approaches have been used to develop many CAD systems to address this issue. However, existing systems need to be improved for better safety and reliability on larger datasets before they can be used in medical diagnostics. In our study, we developed an effective CAD system for classifying eight types of GI images by combining transfer learning with an attention mechanism. Our experimental results show that ConvNeXt is an effective pre-trained network for feature extraction, and ConvNeXt+Attention (our proposed method) is a robust CAD system that outperforms other cutting-edge approaches. Our proposed method had an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.9997 and an area under the precision-recall curve of 0.9973, indicating excellent performance. Oral administration is a convenient drug delivery method in our daily lives. However, it remains a challenge to achieve precise target delivery and ensure the efficacy of medications in extreme environments within the digestive system with complex environments. This paper proposes an oral multilayer magnetic hydrogel microrobot for targeted delivery and on-demand release driven by a gradient magnetic field. The inner hydrogel shells enclose designated drugs and magnetic microparticles. The outer hydrogel shells enclose the inner hydrogel shells, magnetic microparticles, and pH neutralizers. The drug release procedure is remotely implemented layer-by-layer. When the required gradient magnetic field is applied, the outer hydrogel shells are destroyed to release their inclusions. The enclosed pH neutralizers scour the surrounding environment to avoid damaging drugs by the pH environment. Subsequently, the inner hydrogel shells are destroyed to release the drugs. A set of experiments are conducted to demonstrate the wirelessly controllable target delivery and release in a Petri dish and biological tissues. The results demonstrated attractive advantages of the reported microrobot in microcargo delivery with almost no loss, remote controllable release, and drug protection by the pH neutralizers. Purpose: To investigate and systematically describe the mechanism of action of Prunella vulgaris (P. vulgaris) against digestive system tumors and related toxicity reduction. Methods: This study briefly describes the history of medicinal food and the pharmacological effects of P. vulgaris, focusing on the review of the anti-digestive tumor effects of the active ingredients of P. vulgaris and the mechanism of its toxicity reduction. Results: The active ingredients of P. vulgaris may exert anti-tumor effects by inducing the apoptosis of cancer cells, inhibiting angiogenesis, inhibiting the migration and invasion of tumor cells, and inhibiting autophagy. In addition, P. vulgaris active ingredients inhibit the release of inflammatory factors and macrophages and increase the level of indicators of oxidative stress through the modulation of target genes in the pathway to achieve the effect of toxicity reduction. Conclusion: The active ingredients in the medicine food homology plant P. vulgaris not only treat digestive system tumors through different mechanisms but also reduce the toxic effects. Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a severe digestive system disorder with a significant risk of progressing to sepsis, a major cause of mortality. Unraveling the immunological pathways in AP is essential for developing effective treatments, particularly understanding the role of specific immune cell traits in this progression. Methods: Employing a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) approach, this study first examined the causal relationship between AP and 731 immune cell traits to identify those significantly associated with AP. Subsequently, we explored the causal associations between 731 immune cell traits and sepsis. The analysis utilized extensive genome-wide association studies (GWAS) summary datasets, with a focus on identifying common immune cell traits with statistically significant causal associations between AP and sepsis. Results: Our investigation identified 44 immune cell traits unidirectionally associated with AP and 36 traits unidirectionally associated with sepsis. Among these, CD127 on CD28+ CD45RA- CD8+ T cells emerged as a common mediator, accounting for 5.296% of the increased risk of sepsis in AP patients. This finding highlights the significant role of specific memory CD8+ T cells in the pathophysiology of AP and its progression to sepsis. Conclusion: This study elucidates the critical role of specific immune cell traits, particularly CD127hi memory CD8+ T cells, in the progression of AP to sepsis. Our findings provide a foundation for future research into targeted immune-modulatory therapies, potentially improving patient outcomes in AP-related sepsis and offering new insights into the complex immunological dynamics of this condition. Background: Multiple studies have confirmed the significant role of cathepsins in the development and progression of digestive system tumors. However, further investigation is needed to determine the causal relationships. Methods: We conducted a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) study using pooled data from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to assess the causal associations between nine cathepsins (cathepsin B, E, F, G, H, L2, O, S, and Z) and six types of digestive system tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), pancreatic cancer (PCa), biliary tract cancer (BTC), colorectal cancer (CRC), gastric carcinoma (GC), and esophageal cancer (EC). We employed the following methods including inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger, weighted median (WM), Cochran's Q, MR-PRESSO, MR-Egger intercept test and leave-one-out sensitivity analysis. The STROBE-MR checklist for the reporting of MR studies was used in this study. Results: The risk of HCC increased with high levels of cathepsin G (IVW: p = 0.029, odds ratio (OR) = 1.369, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.033-1.814). Similarly, BTC was associated with elevated cathepsin B levels (IVW: p = 0.025, OR = 1.693, 95% CI = 1.070-2.681). Conversely, a reduction in PCa risk was associated with increased cathepsin H levels (IVW: p = 0.027, OR = 0.896, 95% CI = 0.8120.988). Lastly, high levels of cathepsin L2 were found to lower the risk of CRC (IVW: p = 0.034, OR = 0.814, 95% CI = 0.674-0.985). Conclusion: Our findings confirm the causal relationship between cathepsins and digestive system tumors, which can offer valuable insights for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system tumors. Introduction: Colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) is one of the most frequently identified cancers of the digestive system. It is worth noting that the 5-year survival rates for patients diagnosed early are approximately 90%, whereas for patients with advanced diagnosis it is only 10%. It may indicate that metastasis is a critical cause of death for cancer patients. Aim: The current study investigated the immunohistochemical expression of MnSOD in individuals living in Poland, who were diagnosed as colon adenocarcinoma patients, to assess its prognostic significance by correlating its expression with the clinicopathological factors and overall survival (OS). Material and methods: Paraffin-embedded adenocarcinoma samples were assessed immunohistochemically for MnSOD protein. The relationship between MnSOD immunoexpression and clinicopathological factors including the 5-year overall survival (OS) were evaluated. Results: Immunohistochemical expression of MnSOD protein was detected in colon adenocarcinoma samples and non-pathological samples of colon tissues. As demonstrated, the level of the MnSOD immunohistochemical reactivity was not correlated with clinicopathological factors. A multivariate analysis demonstrated that the grade of tumour differentiation and MnSOD immunoexpression in healthy tissues were independent risk factors for worse survival of patients. Conclusions: The high level of MnSOD immunoexpression in cancerous tissue was not associated with malignancy-related clinicopathological factors and 5-year overall survival of patients. The digestive system (DS) is a fundamental topic in biological science teaching. However, the literature indicates that students have difficulties in learning about it. In the present work, we focus on how early childhood Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs) develop their understanding of the DS regarding the CMP (Components-Mechanisms-Phenomena) framework of systems thinking. A teaching sequence was designed, implemented and iteratively improved over the course of three years, and in Year 3 included the construction of a physical model and the design and performance of a role-play. Data collection was performed using individual questionnaires before and after participating in the practical activities. The physical models and the role-plays were also analysed. The results show that participation in the sequence improved the understanding of the DS in all dimensions of systems thinking, especially in Year 3. The construction of physical models mainly fostered learning Components and the role-play seemed to facilitate a deeper understanding of Mechanisms. The effect of feeding greater amberjack with copepod nauplii (Acartia tonsa) on the ontogeny of the digestive system was observed until 40 days after hatching (DAH). Copepods are part of the diet of fish larvae in nature, and they are rich in highly unsaturated fatty acids and free amino acids that enhance the digestive capacity of the fish. In a marine hatchery, four cylindroconical tanks of 2,700 L were stocked with about 150 × 103 greater amberjack larvae (Seriola dumerili) in each. The larvae were initially fed from 3 to 17 DAH in two tanks with copepod nauplii and rotifers (Brachionus sp.; Copepods group), while in the other two tanks, they were fed only with rotifers (Control group) during the same period. All the tanks were fed with rotifers (3–27 DAH), Artemia nauplii (12–22 DAH), enriched Artemia metanauplii (20–30 DAH), and formulated diet (25–40 DAH). Fish samples were taken regularly (every 2 or 4 days) for histological analysis and every day for the measurement of total length (TL). The TL was 3.7, 4.5 ± 0.1, 6.1, 11, 17.3 ± 0.1 and 20.3 ± 2.3 mm at 4, 10, 16, 22, 30, and 40 DAH, respectively. Copepod-fed fish showed higher TL in the last 2 days of the trial (p < 0.05), while mortality rates were lower in the beginning of the trial 10–17 DAH, (p < 0.05). In addition, copepods-fed fish had less skeletal deformities (p < 0.05). Pyloric caeca appeared earlier in the Copepods group compared with the Control, while the length and surface of the villi, the abundance of goblet cells/100 μm of intestine length, and the area covered with lipid vacuoles in the liver were significantly higher in the Copepods group (p < 0.05). The pre-starter diet is critical for providing adequate nutrition to newly hatched chicks, whose digestive systems are not yet fully developed to handle solid feeds. Different levels of dietary energy can impact the growth and development of broilers. Hence, providing the right energy to meet their requirements is necessary. A study was conducted to examine the effect of different levels of metabolizable energy (ME) (3025, 2904, and 2783 kcal/kg) in the pre-starter diet (1 to 10 days) of broiler chickens on their growth performance traits. The experiment involved 450 broilers of the Ross 308 breed, divided into three treatments and six replications. The results of the study showed that reducing dietary energy levels increased the feed intake (FI) and body weight (BW) of broiler chickens, although it did not affect their feed conversion factor (FCR). Based on the results of the current study, reducing the recommended energy levels by up to 5% had no negative impact on growth performance. Nemerteans, or ribbon worms, possess tetrodotoxin and its analogues (TTXs), neurotoxins of bacterial origin, which they presumably use for capturing prey and self-defense. Most TTXs-containing nemertean species have low levels of these toxins and, therefore, have usually been neglected in studies of TTXs functions and accumulation. In the present study, Kulikovia alborostrata and K. manchenkoi, two closely related species, were analyzed for TTXs distribution in the body using the HPLC–MS/MS and fluorescence microscopy methods. The abundance of TTXs-positive cells was determined in the proboscis, integument, and digestive system epithelium. As a result, six TTXs-positive cell types were identified in each species; however, only four were common. Moreover, the proportions of the toxins in different body parts were estimated. According to the HPLC–MS/MS analysis, the TTXs concentrations in K. alborostrata varied from 0.91 ng/g in the proboscis to 5.52 ng/g in the precerebral region; in K. manchenkoi, the concentrations ranged from 7.47 ng/g in the proboscis to 72.32 ng/g in the posterior body region. The differences observed between the two nemerteans in the distribution of the TTXs were consistent with the differences in the localization of TTXs-positive cells. In addition, TTXs-positive glandular cell types were found in the intestine and characterized for the first time. Potassium permanganate (KMnO4) solution, a potent oxidizing agent, has been extensively employed in veterinary medicine for uterine washing, wound cleansing, and many other therapeutic purposes. However, its related toxicity and adverse effects often remain unnoticed due to its extensive use as an antiseptic and disinfectant. This review aims to explore the potential risks and harmful effects of using potassium permanganate in veterinary medicine. Through an indepth review of the scientific literature and authoritative analysis, this article discusses the significance of various antiseptics, the mode of action of potassium permanganate, its pharmacokinetics, dosage, toxicity, allergenicity and historical use in the human and veterinary practices. As a vital constituent of numerous commercially important chemical entities, including medicines, potassium permanganate is used for wound cleansing and uterine flushing because it can effectively disrupt cell wall and damage DNA of pathogenic organisms, effectively mitigating bacterial and fungal infections. However, it can also adversely affect living cells, leading to inflammation, oxidative stress, and ulcerative injury. Excessive and prolonged exposure of body tissue to potassium permanganate can cause damage to vital organs such as the liver and kidneys, induce digestive system malfunctions and provoke reproductive disorders. Furthermore, it can contaminate milk and meat, and potentially instigate a reduction in milk production of the animal. The present review primarily aims to enhance veterinarians' understanding regarding the therapeutic applications and potential hazards of KMnO4, as well as to highlight the importance of its judicious use to minimize its negative repercussions on animal and human health. In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of morbidity associated with digestive organ pathology in the pediatric population. The oral cavity is the digestive tract opening, sharing a common ectodermal origin with it. The changes in the cytogram of the oral mucous membranes can signal about exacerbation of pathological processes in the gastrointestinal tract. The aim of this work: to identify the features of gingival cellular composition in school-age patients with chronic gastritis and duodenitis in order to improve diagnostic methods at the disease stages. Examinations of the gingival cytogram in children aged 12-17 years with chronic gastritis and duodenitis (27 individuals with the disease in acute stage, 30 – in remission) were carried out. The control group included 28 children who did not have any somatic pathology by the results of the examination. For cytological examination, imprint smears from the gingival vestibular surface of the upper and lower jaws were made. The smears were fixed and stained by the May-Grunwald Pappenheim method, and then examined using a microscope with an immersion system. The percentage of epithelial cells and connective tissue cells was calculated per 100 cells. The number of pathologically altered epithelial cells was determined: with vacuolated cytoplasm, with nucleus deformation. In children with chronic gastritis and duodenitis disorders in the gingival cellular composition with a predominance of dystrophic components were found, that was manifested by a decrease in the proportion of epithelial cells at terminal stages of differentiation, an increase in the proportion of cells with cytopathological phenomena, polymorphonuclear leukocytes and lymphocytes. Changes in the cytogram were especially expressed in the phase of disease exacerbation. Knowing the phases of the wound process, based on the timing and sequence of the cellular ensembles seen in the cytogram, it is possible to control the disease periods, and timely apply measures to prevent exacerbations. Emulsion‐filled hydrogels are a growing system in the food industry for delivering bioactive compounds. In this study, Baneh gum (BG) particles were prepared as a Pickering emulsion stabilizer for curcumin delivery. Then, BG Pickering emulsion was added to the chitosan solution (1.5%, 2.0%, and 2.5% w/w) in different Pickering emulsion (PE):hydrogel (HYD) ratios (1:3, 1:5, and 1:7) to create an emulsion‐filled gel. The highest amount of Cur stability after the 3rd week of storage was observed in the sample containing 2.0% CS and a 1:7 PE:HYD ratio (97.36%). Pickering emulsion and emulsion‐filled gel significantly protected the antioxidant activity of curcumin against the thermal process (p <.05). Curcumin loading in the emulsion‐filled gel provided better protection against the gastric condition compared to the emulsion system. The chitosan hydrogel swells in an acidic environment, but its combination with the anionic structure of the emulsion causes a lower release of curcumin in the stomach environment, which can help the stability of curcumin in the digestive system and have a controlled release in the gastrointestinal tract. Background: Congenital malformations of the digestive system (CMDS) are one of the major causes of newborn mortality, particularly in developing countries. This study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence, pattern, gender distribution of CMDS as well as ethnicity status among newborns in Golestan Province, northern Iran. Methods: This descriptive and analytical study was conducted on 36,156 live births to identify all newborns with CMDS, born between March 2018 and March 2019 in Golestan Province, north of Iran. The type of CMDS according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), the gender and ethnicity status of the newborns were recorded. The prevalence rate was estimated and compared using the exact Poisson method and odds ratio with a 95% confidence interval. Data were analyzed using STATA 14.0 software. Results: The prevalence rate of CMDS in newborns was 2.13 per 1000 live births. The risk of CMDS was significantly higher in males compared to females (OR=1.78, 95% CI: 1.12-2.85). The most common anomaly was Ankyloglossia (19.28%). The prevalence rate of CMDS among native Fars, Turkmen and Sistani ethnic groups was 2.15 [95% CI: 1.50- 2.99], 3.05 [95% CI: 2.06-4.35] and 1.48 [95% CI: 0.64-2.91] per 1000 live births, respectively. Conclusion: Due to the prevalence rate of CMDS and ethnic diversity in this region, effective prevention planning, early diagnosis and thorough screening are particularly important, especially in high-risk groups. Probiotics, like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, benefit health by populating the digestive system, which houses numerous microbial species. Studies demonstrate their ability to inhibit biofilm formation, crucial in preventing oral conditions like dental caries. Our research evaluated a probiotic strain's anti-biofilm efficacy against oral pathogens in 45 individuals' saliva, alongside its biofilmforming potential. Analysis revealed significant biofilm inhibition in 36 samples. Comparisons based on age, gender, and geography further supported these findings. We propose further exploration of probiotics tailored to specific demographics to enhance oral health outcomes, suggesting a promising avenue for preventing oral microbial diseases. Ecologists strive for laws that explain interactions between organisms. Myriad hypotheses have been fundamental in increasing our understanding of plant–herbivore interactions, including the forage maturation hypothesis (FMH). The FMH has recently been extended to include contingencies of body size and digestive system: selection for greater energy potential should be negatively correlated with body mass and selection for proximity to surface water should be greater for hindgut fermenters compared to foregut fermenters or ruminants. While these general trends hold at a broad scale, intrapopulation variability still exists. For feral species that did not coevolve within their current ecological context, variability in habitat selection among populations may be greater. Consequently, understanding habitat selection of each population is imperative to properly inform management. For the case of feral horses, Equus ferus caballus , a large-bodied hindgut fermenter, understanding how they compare in habitat selection to sympatric species is of particular interest due to habitat alteration and potential competition. Across much of their range in western North America, horses are sympatric with the smaller-bodied ruminant pronghorn, Antilocapra americana. The two species overlap in space use, but we lack information on how each species selects resources within areas of overlap. Accordingly, we compared habitat selection between these two species during the growing season to understand how each responded to predictions of the FMH and to better guide potential management actions. Horses followed FMH predictions by selecting proximity to surface water and greater forage biomass. Meanwhile, pronghorn did not follow predictions of the FMH; pronghorn selected greater forage biomass but did not select greater energy potential. Both species selected greater herbaceous cover, flatter slopes and farther distances from oil and gas well pads. BACKGROUND: Receipt of guideline-concordant treatment (GCT) is associated with improved prognosis in foregut cancers. Studies show that patients living in areas of high neighborhood deprivation have worse healthcare outcomes; however, its effect on GCT in foregut cancers has not been evaluated. We studied the impact of the area deprivation index (ADI) as a barrier to GCT. STUDY DESIGN: A single-institution retrospective review of 498 foregut cancer patients (gastric, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary adenocarcinoma) from 2018 to 2022 was performed. GCT was defined based on National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. ADI, a validated measure of neighborhood disadvantage was divided into terciles (low, medium, and high) with high ADI indicating the most disadvantage. RESULTS: Of 498 patients, 328 (66%) received GCT: 66%, 72%, and 59% in pancreatic, gastric, and hepatobiliary cancers, respectively. Median (interquartile range) time from symptoms to workup was 6 (3 to 13) weeks, from diagnosis to oncology appointment was 4 (1 to 10) weeks, and from oncology appointment to treatment was 4 (2 to 10) weeks. Forty-six percent were diagnosed in the emergency department. On multivariable analyses, age 75 years or older (odds ratio [OR] 0.39 [95% CI 0.18 to 0.87]), Black race (OR 0.52 [95% CI 0.31 to 0.86]), high ADI (OR 0.25 (95% CI 0.14 to 0.48]), 6 weeks or more from symptoms to workup (OR 0.44 [95% CI 0.27 to 0.73]), 4 weeks or more from diagnosis to oncology appointment (OR 0.76 [95% CI 0.46 to 0.93]), and 4 weeks or more from oncology appointment to treatment (OR 0.63 [95% CI 0.36 to 0.98]) were independently associated with nonreceipt of GCT. CONCLUSIONS: Residence in an area of high deprivation predicts nonreceipt of GCT. This is due to multiple individual- and system-level barriers. Identifying these barriers and developing effective interventions, including community outreach and collaboration, leveraging telehealth, and increasing oncologic expertise in underserved areas, may improve access to GCT. The relevance of this study is conditioned by the lack of detailed information on the structure and topography of the digestive organs of the Yemeni chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus). The purpose of this study was to find out the specific features of changes in body weight, topography, and structure of the digestive organs of the Yemeni chameleon, to determine their morphometric parameters in animals from 1 day to 1 year of age. The research material included the tongue, oesophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas of chameleons of different sexes of 9 age groups. The data obtained were processed by one-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA). According to the topography, macroscopic structure and surface of the mucous membrane, there are three intestines in the small intestine: duodenum, jejunum, and ileum, and two intestines in the large intestine: the colon with a diverticulum and the rectum, which passes into the cloaca. A feature of the serous membrane of the chameleon intestine is that it is coloured black by melanin. From 1 day to 1 year of age, the body weight of chameleons increased 185.9 times, the snout-vent length (SVL) increased 6.7 times, the length of the digestive tract increased 3.8 times, and the ratio of the length of the digestive tract to SVL decreased from 3.2 to 1.8 times. The most intensive increase in body weight and SVL occurred during the second and third months of life. The relative length of the small intestine in chameleons of different age groups was 65.1-81.6%, with the longest part being the jejunum. The increase in the morphometric parameters of the stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas was asynchronous. The most pronounced changes in their relative weight were determined in animals of 2-3 months of age. The obtained materials supplement and clarify the information on the topography and structure of the digestive organs of the Yemeni chameleon, and therefore they will be useful in X-ray and ultrasound examination during veterinary manipulations.
