The animal species to be listed for AMR E. cecorum according to Article 8 criteria are mostly birds belonging to the families of Anatidae, Columbidae and Phasianidae.

The assessment has been performed following a methodology composed of information collection and compilation, and expert judgement on each criterion at individual and collective level. The outcome is the median of the probability ranges provided by the experts, which indicates whether the criterion is fulfilled (66–100%) or not (0–33%), or whether there is uncertainty about fulfilment (33–66%). For the questions where no consensus was reached, the different supporting views are reported. According to the assessment performed, Equine Herpesvirus‐1 infection can be considered eligible to be listed for Union intervention according to Article 5 of the Animal Health Law with 33–90% certainty. According to the criteria as in Annex IV of the AHL related to Article 9 of the AHL for the categorisation of diseases according to the level of prevention and control, it was assessed with less than 1% certainty that EHV‐1 fulfils the criteria as in Section 1 (category A), 1–5% for the criteria as in Section 2 (category B), 10–66% for the criteria as in Section 3 (category C), 66–90% for the criteria as in Section 4 (category D) and 33–90% for the criteria as in Section 5 (category E). Using quarterly data from 2010 to 2019, this paper investigates the impact of listing status on the performance of the National Commercial Bank (NCB), the largest commercial bank in Saudi Arabia, by applying a combination of financial ratios analysis and efficient frontier analysis with a mix of parametric and non-parametric tests. The overall results show that although the NCB performance is superior compared to their counterparts, this superiority has deteriorated after the bank was listed in 2014. This result was captured by the deterioration in the efficiency measures of NCB, indicating the significance of using the efficient frontier analysis as an additional monitoring tool by the Saudi regulators. The financial ratios analysis also shows that even though the NCB profitability has increased, there is an increase in the bank’s overall risk after being listed. Therefore, Saudi regulators should closely monitor their listed banks as these banks are directed toward high-risk assets.

Abstract To combat biodiversity loss in the United States, imperiled species are protected under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), which is currently threatened by political initiatives seeking to weaken it and potentially transfer substantial authority to the states. To assess the conservation capacity of current state laws, we conducted a quantitative analysis of imperiled species protection within all 50 states by compiling data on all state‐listed species, ESA‐listed species, and IUCN Red List species in each state. We found that currently 16% of ESA‐listed species and 52% of IUCN imperiled species are not protected by any state law, and if the ESA were repealed these numbers could increase to 73% of ESA‐listed species and 81% of IUCN imperiled species unprotected. Although protection varies widely among states, our results suggest that revoking the ESA would be highly detrimental to imperiled species conservation and recovery in the United States.

The study of IPO as a source of financial resources meets the current needs of the corporate sector in conditions of disintermediation and securitization trends of the financial market. In developed economies, there is a process of shifting the emphasis in the direction of capital attraction precisely on the stock market segment of the financial market, which has a number of advantages over the banking system that are also connected with the innovation and investment development of the national economy. The formation of the proper basis for the development of IPO market determines the timeliness of the consideration of this issue because it didn’t obtain a sufficient spread. The emergence of new instruments is the feature that characterizes the modern stage of the development of the Ukrainian and world economy. Their application is a condition for the further development and use of the potential opportunities for the improvement of economic systems. Enterprises are able to meet current market needs and challenges due to orientation to modern trends and timely reaction to the latest achievements. One of them is the IPO (initial public offering), which is the primary public offering of shares. Participants of the Ukrainian market face a number of obstacles during IPO on the domestic and foreign stock exchanges. It necessitates a comprehensive review of this issue for a further developing of this method of accumulating financial resources. The purpose of this article is to identify the IPO market as a system of interrelated components that form its essence, and on the basis of a generalization of the constraining factors of development – providing recommendations on the perspective lines of improving the IPO market, taking into consideration the peculiarities of the Ukrainian and world stock market. Methodology. Analytical market reviews, materials of periodicals, resources of the Internet are the informational and methodological basis of the investigation. To achieve the goal set, the following general scientific and special methods were used: economic and mathematical methods, structural-logical analysis, analogy, synthesis, comparison and integration, factor analysis. Results. The factors that should be taken into account by the issuer for the success of the IPO procedure are justified. Problematic aspects and directions of their elimination are determined for every concrete stage of the IPO. The model for the domestic companies to enter the IPO market is proposed that has a special significance in the context of increasing the volume of financing innovative activity. Directions for reforming the regulatory and legislative framework are considered. Practical implications. Directions for improving the process of passing through the IPO stages can be applied by issuers, taking into account the peculiarities of the domestic and world stock market. Value/originality. The biggest part of the scientific works is devoted to the theoretical aspects of IPO, clarifying the essence of this process, structuring its participants, the advantages of carrying out. At the same time, a part of the works is devoted to the consideration of IPO as an instrument for attracting financial resources by corporations. The authors reviewed IPO in a system that combines the above aspects with its procedure stages and propositions to cancel out constraining factors that have a place on each step of IPO. The presented integrated approach will allow expanding the use of the IPO in the financial market as a source of financial resources for the corporative sector. It is also important to consider the impact of the planned legislative reforms on the development of the IPO market in Ukraine. Taking into account all the components of the IPO market and existing features of the IPO within the framework of the national financial market and world stock exchanges will highlight directions of the IPO market spread.

A balanced corporate financing plays an important role in maintaining financial stability, and it is therefore advisable to focus on reducing existing imbalances regarding the significant predominance of banking crediting compared to market financing. In terms of this direction of modernization of financial system it is very important to implement measures to create an effective system of primary public offering of shares and their further circulation in the market. The development of public market of shares of large companies may include the following stages: 1) placement of small stocks of shares of public banks; 2) public offering of shares of large State-owned companies; 3) placement of shares of large private companies. To maintain the secondary market of shares it is expedient to define the criteria of listing of shares at the stock exchange, which should not be too rigoristic and should conform to international norms taking account of the domestic corporate realities. In order to increase the protection against possible corporate raiding, it is necessary to review the legal rules on the procedure for acquiring large stocks of shares. The second direction of IPO development is the creation of an alternative trading platform for small and medium-sized companies. To reduce the costs of issuers in this segment of the market it is expedient to introduce the information document reduced by volume, rather than the norm on disclosure of the not wide prospectus of issue.

The last 20 years or so have seen a sharp decline in public equity. I present a framework that explains the forces that cause the listing propensity of firms to change over time. This framework highlights the benefits and costs of a public listing compared to the benefits and costs of financing with private equity. With this framework, the decline in public equity is explained by the increased supply of funds for private equity and changes in the nature of firms. The increase in the importance of intangible assets makes it costlier for young firms to be public when the alternative is funding through private equity from investors who have specialized knowledge that enables them to better understand the business model of young firms and contribute to the development of that business model in contrast to passive public equity investors. The purpose of the study is to improve the students writing ability for paragraph writing class. The subjects of the study were 37 students of English Education Study Program who joined the paragraph writing class. The design of the study was Classroom Action Research with two cycles. Cycle 1 consisted of three meetings, and cycle 2 consisted of two meetings. The types of explicit planning used in the action research were word listing and word mapping with phrases and sentence for detail. The instruments used were direct writing test, observation, and documentation of students’ reflective essay. To score the students’ writing, two raters were asked to rate the composition by using Jacobs ESL Composition profile scoring rubric. The finding shows that the use of explicit planning was able to improve the students’ paragraph writing performance, indicated with the achievement of the criteria of success. The students’ mean improved from cycle 1 (74.62) to cycle2 (76.78). Although explicit planning instruction was able to help the students to write better, data from their self-reflection essay showed that many of the students preferred to use free writing instead of explicit planning instruction.

Reputation is a strategic asset for firms, but has been poorly studied in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in relation to their financial and stock-market performance. This work aimed to predict the probability of a firm being included in a pharmaceutical reputation index (Merco and PatientView), and the position it occupies, according to its economic–financial and stock-market outcomes and its geographical location. Fifty firms with excellent sales in 2019 and their rankings in 2017–2019 were employed. The methodology followed was logistic regression. Their research and development (R&D) expenditures and dividends strongly influenced them being included in both rankings. Non-Asian pharmaceutical companies were more likely to belong to the two reputation indices than Asian ones, and to occupy the best positions in the Merco ranking. Although no large differences appeared in the firms in both indices, differences were found in the position that pharmaceutical companies occupied in rankings and in the variables that contribute to them occupying these positions. Being in PatientView influenced dividends, sales, and income, while appearing in Merco showed accounting aspects like value in books and debt ratio.

The purpose of the article is to improve monitoring and control in the system of state regulation of the stock market and to develop practical recommendations for an integrated mechanism, which is aimed at stabilizing and improving the functioning of its state regulators. Methodology. The following research methods were used: analysis and synthesis – to identify the most important factors affecting the operation of the stock market, consolidation of trends and evaluation the effectiveness of individual measures of government regulation; statistical analysis, comparison and generalization – to study the effectiveness of the regulatory bodies of the stock market in Ukraine. Results. It’s necessary to introduce deoffshorization, which is a tool of economic mechanism of the development of state regulation of the stock market and optimal combination of the tax burden, comfortable business environment and the country’s stock market capitalization. Practical significance. Practical recommendations on the need to introduce deoffshorization in the stock market of Ukraine are seen as a tool of economic mechanism for further state regulation development of the stock market, used in the formation of proposals to introduce deoffshorization in the stock market in the Regulations of the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market. Value/originality. Implementation of the deoffshorization in the stock market will allow the State to strengthen the protection of investors’ rights, it is a strategic goal of Ukraine, as well as to strengthen the local stock market and increase its credibility among the population.

Srečko Kosovel Ajdovščina men's choir is one of the most important men's choirs in Slovenian singing landscape and one of the most important societies in the area of Regional Archives Nova Gorica. The society created and preserved comprehensive archives attesting to rich and successful activities in more than seventy years of operation. It was decided that these archives should be arranged and recorded. To achieve this, they needed to secure the help of a historian who is also a curator. The organizational skills of the latter and his extremely detailed and comprehensive list of material in particular is a special example of an approach to the task entrusted to him. Although the appraisal and selection of archives were not performed, and the arrangement and recording of archives have individual weaknesses, the acquisition of archives with such an aid for its use is a valuable addition to the archives service in Nova Gorica and for the users of this archival fond. The Endangered Species Act of 1973 continues to be the subject of intense political acrimony. Opponents believe the law is a failure and call for significant changes, whereas proponents resist changes and argue for more funding to implement the statute. We suggest the law has been successful in meeting its core mission of preventing human-caused extinctions, but there are significant challenges with how the law is applied that limit its success. We recommend improvements in implementation that could lessen political controversy while making the act a more effective tool for conservation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Using monthly data on national housing prices from July 1998 to June 2015, we investigate the effect of the 'Tender, Auction and Listing' (hereafter TAL) system on housing prices in land, implemented on 31 August 2004. We apply the additional polynomial regression discontinuity method which effectively eliminates the effects of several confounding factors such as financial crisis, 'New National Ten Provisions' and '9.30 New Regime'. We find that, although the TAL has caused the national average housing prices to go up by 10%, accounting for 11% of total increase in housing prices in the last year, it does not constitute the major driver for housing prices. Furthermore, our results indicate that TAL has exerted a larger impact on commercial and residential properties, especially in the middle and west regions. By examining the transmission mechanisms, we find that the effects of TAL are mainly via government's starvation-style land supply effect and market-reshuffling effect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this study is to describe identifiable risk factors, complications, and pitfalls while listing pediatric patients for heart transplantation, which is the standard of care for end-stage heart disease in children. Since the introduction of cyclosporine in the 1980s, the management in pediatric heart transplantation has shown consistent improvement, mainly because of technological advances and the integration of multidisciplinary teams in the field. However, the complexity of this patient population makes medical providers vulnerable to complications as a result of undesirable mistakes. Transplant survival is impacted negatively when mistakes from health-care providers compound the high-risk status of the patient. The identification of multiple risk factors and undesirable miscalculations may help transplant teams make decisions before allocating organs, intervene or minimize morbidity, and provide the best quality of life to recipients. This article serves as an introduction to this Special Issue on the banning or proscription of terrorist organisations around the world. It begins by arguing for greater attention to proscription powers because of their contemporary ubiquity, considerable historical lineage, implications for political life, and ambiguous effectiveness. Following an overview of the Issue’s questions and ambitions, the article discusses five themes: key moments of continuity and change within proscription regimes around the world; the significance of domestic political and legal contexts and institutions; the value of this power in countering terrorism and beyond; a range of prominent criticisms of proscription, including around civil liberties; and the significance of language and other symbolic practices in the justification and extension of proscription powers. Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal) has been assessed according to the criteria of the Animal Health Law (AHL), in particular criteria of Article 7 on disease profile and impacts, Article 5 on the eligibility of Bsal to be listed, Article 9 for the categorisation of Bsal according to disease prevention and control rules as in Annex IV, and Article 8 on the list of animal species related to Bsal. The assessment has been performed following a methodology composed of information collection and compilation, expert judgement on each criterion at individual and, if no consensus was reached before, also at collective level. The output is composed of the categorical answer, and for the questions where no consensus was reached, the different supporting views are reported. Details on the methodology used for this assessment are explained in a separate opinion. According to the assessment performed, Bsal can be considered eligible to be listed for Union intervention as laid down in Article 5(3) of the AHL. The disease would comply with the criteria as in sections 4 and 5 of Annex IV of the AHL, for the application of the disease prevention and control rules referred to in points (d) and (e) of Article 9(1). The assessment here performed on compliance with the criteria as in Section 1 of Annex IV referred to in point (a) of Article 9(1) is inconclusive. The animal species to be listed for Bsal according to Article 8 (3) criteria are species of the families Salamandridae and Plethodontidae as susceptible and Salamandridae and Hynobiidae as reservoirs.
