Con su fin e inicio trajo importantes acontecimientos, el surgimiento de cambios políticos, sociales y culturales. Un gran aporte al desarrollo de la educación superior como hoy la conocemos, tuvo sus inicios precisamente en la edad media, donde las primeras instituciones educativas nacieron en Europa. (L. P. M. 2013, 2 agosto). Afirma que estas surgen como respuesta de los sectores dominantes de la época. De preparar eclesiásticos, juristas y médicos, con el objetivo de presentar a la sociedad un ser supremo, el anhelo de justicia y el requerimiento a la salud corporal. Cabe mencionar que las universidades tienen antecedentes en las culturas avanzadas de la antigüedad “Academia”, esta fue fundada en Atenas por Platón (428-347 a.n.e). El año 387 antes de nuestra era, de igual forma existieron escuelas filosóficas semejantes en la India, China y Alejandría. El imperio romano también tuvo su aporte en las escuelas jurídicas de la época, las escuelas de medicina del siglo VI en el sur de Italia (480-570), por los monjes Benedicto Benito y Casiodoro. En Colombia el tema de educación superior tuvo sus inicios en el periodo colonial, siglos XVI y XVII, la universidad santo Tomás, san francisco de Javier, conocida hoy como la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana y el colegio Mayor de nuestra señora del rosario, fueron las pioneras en el desarrollo y enseñanza de temas como; teología, filosofía, jurisprudencia y medicina. En el departamento de Córdoba el tema de la educación superior nace con el fin de responder ante una necesidad que se estaba presentando con los jóvenes bachilleres de la región, ya que estos tenían que viajar a otras regiones del país, para seguir con sus estudios superiores. Los cuales no tenían o contaban con el dinero necesario para los viajes. Fue el Doctor Elías Bechara Zainum, quien presentó la propuesta de forjar una universidad en el departamento, con calidad y pertinencia a las necesidades de la región. De esta forma se fue fundado en 1962 en la ciudad de Montería, sus primeras facultades fueron las de Ingeniería Agronómica y Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, bajo la ley 103 del 1962. Desde entonces la Universidad cuenta con grandes reconocimientos, siendo esta la mejor universidad pública del país. Sin duda la universidad ha generado gran desarrollo e impacto en la región, esta sigue creciendo y a su vez, las Áreas que han permitido el buen funcionamientos y coordinación de las mismas. Un área muy importante ha sido la Vicerrectoría de Investigación y Extensión, creada con el propósito de integrar, articular y gestionar los procesos formativos, académicos, docentes, científicos y culturales. En el área de Investigación la cual estoy haciendo las prácticas profesionales. Con este informe de seguimiento se plantea la importancia de la dependencia en la universidad, el rol que ejerce en la participación de los estudiantes y del docente, el impacto positivo que genera, como creador de conocimiento y fuente de implementación de los mismos. Al ser un área tan importante de la universidad, se llevará debidamente los procesos y manejos de información, buscando cumplir con los objetivos propuestos, y a través de ellos generar aportes que contribuyan a la creación de nuevos conocimientos, de igual forma llevar la información organizada y debidamente actualizada apoyándonos en los sistemas tecnológicos e informáticos. La Secretaría de Competitividad y Cooperación Internacional es una Dependencia de la gobernación de Córdoba que ejerce la coordinación interinstitucional de todas las estrategias, planes, programas y proyectos concernientes a la productividad, a la competitividad en el departamento de Córdoba y a la cooperación internacional; diseña políticas orientadas a sacar adelante proyectos de gran impacto para el desarrollo, teniendo en cuenta el Plan de Desarrollo Departamental, el Plan Regional de Competitividad, e Innovación, los proyectos regionales y la cooperación internacional. Cabe agregar que esta Dependencia cuenta con poca experiencia dentro de la Gobernación de Córdoba ya que fue constituida en el 2016, por tal razón, es necesario aun reorganizar muchas actividades para poder obtener el impacto deseado, no obstante, la secretaria en Cabeza del secretaria actual Roder Ramos Mellao en articulación con los profesionales de planta y contratistas, vienen realizando un arduo trabajo para garantizar la Productividad y Competitividad en el departamento de córdoba a través de convocatorias que permitan la atracción de recursos del gobierno nacional, Sistema general de regalías y cooperación internacional, con los que se apoyan las iniciativas y el desarrollo de todos los emprendedores, Empresas en Edad temprana y MiPymes. Para mí fue de gran valor obtener y aportar nuevos conocimientos a la secretaría, con un trabajo conjunto logramos crear bases de datos de emprendedores, sociedades, Empresas en Edad Temprana, y MiPymes; realizar eventos presenciales con los representantes de proyectos y entidades, para hacer llegar de modo general y particular las convocatorias y toda la información sobre ellas para que estos puedan participar y obtener el apoyo de recursos económico que necesitan para su buen desarrollo, y que por cierto ese mismo desarrollo que impactará en los indicadores de Competitividad y Productividad de nuestro departamento. 1. La Gobernación de Sucre y su actual gobernador Héctor Olimpo Espinosa, ha implementado el lema Sucre emprende diferente donde se trabaja en la subsecretaria de la gestión de la productividad e innovación EPI, la estrategia de productividad e innovación se encarga de atender las líneas de los sectores productivos. En cabeza de la gestora de productividad Marianela Peñaranda Villamizar y la subsecretaria Liz Torres Sierra. Debido a la necesidad que existe de tener una caracterización de los emprendedores de pequeñas y medianas empresas del departamento de Sucre y su debido diagnostico empresarial junto a su clasificación en el sector productivo al que pertenezca como la gastronomía, el calzado, tecnología, turismo sostenible, economías verdes reciclables, economía naranja, agroindustria, artesanías y la moda y demás formas de generar empresas en el departamento se es necesario trabajar en la identificación de cada uno de ellos. Capsule Great Cormorants Phalacrocorax carbo sinensis use vocal communication during the breeding season, with males being particularly vocal earlier in the breeding cycle and showing individual variation in some calls, which could be used for individual recognition. Aims To identify and describe vocal behaviour of Great Cormorants, to link calls with observed behaviours and to explore if the calls had potential for individual recognition. Methods We followed 21 nesting pairs of Great Cormorants by videoing and recording their vocal behaviour throughout the breeding season. We linked calls with observed behaviours, and measured the acoustic characteristics of the calls using signal analysis tools in Matlab. Results We identified and measured acoustic characteristics of six different call types: courtship, landing, nest building, nest relief, jumping, and chick begging calls. Five of these call types were linked to distinctive breeding behaviours. Vocal signalling occurred between the male and female, and between parents and offspring. Males showed higher vocal activity than females and used a larger repertoire of calls. The courtship call was the most common call type in both sexes. These calls also differed acoustically between the sexes; male calls were longer in duration than female calls (617 ms versus 323 ms) and had wider bandwidth (763 Hz versus 473 Hz). Conclusion Great Cormorants use vocal communication for social interactions. Males were vocally more active and had a larger repertoire of calls than females, and calls differed between the sexes. Calls of males also differed individually and could, therefore, function for individual recognition in this species.

Asian black francolin (Francolinus francolinus asiae) is an important bird species in the North Western Himalayan region, inhabiting diverse subtropical to lower temperate habitat types. The relative abundance, habitat preference and some aspects of breeding ecology are studied here at eleven sites in different habitat types along elevation gradient. The abundance of species at different altitude was worked both through transect trails of different lengths and point counts at some spots. At each study site maximum activity habitats were marked and selected for breeding ecology study. Sighting of black francolin was minimal in April (0.585±0.185 birds/Km) and maximum in May (2.339±0.015 birds/Km). Data on breeding timings, nest site selection, clutch size, incubation period and hatching success was collected. Breeding period of black francolin extended from March up to late July with peak egg-laying between May to June. Twelve nests were monitored throughout the breeding season using binoculars from a distance and camera traps, wherever possible and without disturbing the species. The average size of nest was 20.063±1.452 cm ranging from of 18.80 cm to 22.30 cm in width. Mean clutch size was 5.417±0.793 eggs/nest. The hatching success was 86.15% with 56 successfully hatched eggs while the fledging success was 83.92%.

This note describes the advertisement calls of Rhaebo haematiticus, recorded in Tobar Donoso, province of Carchi‒Ecuador, providing for the first time a quantitative analysis of its spectral and temporal variables. The calls of three populations were analyzed and compared with calls of Rhaebo blombergi and Rhaebo guttatus, two species of the genus Rhaebo present in Ecuador for which acoustic descriptions were available. The results indicate unique interspecific features and intraspecific variations in the advertisement calls, which should suggest the revision of the R. haematiticus as a complex of cryptic species.

Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, la Gerencia de Ciencia, Innovación y Cooperación es el eje focal de los procesos de cooperación internacional del departamento del Meta, dado que se encarga de ser el puente que conecta a los actores cooperantes internacionales con la comunidad, de modo que es la encargada de recibir los procesos de convocatoria a nivel nacional y los destinados a la Orinoquia. Por consiguiente, al asignarme esta actividad y sus diversas funciones me llevan a poner en práctica lo que aprendí en mi Pregrado de Negocios Internaciones, igualmente, a responder frente a las obligaciones y responsabilidades que llevo a cabo para que la Gerencia de a conocer la información de manera oportuna a la comunidad regional y a la cooperante. The growing availability of long-term and large-scale passive acoustic recordings open the possibility of monitoring the vocal activity of elusive oceanic species, such as fin whales (Balaenoptera physalus), in order to acquire knowledge on their distribution, behavior, population structure and abundance. Fin whales produce low-frequency and high-intensity pulses, both as single vocalizations and as song sequences (only males) which can be detected over large distances. Numerous distant fin whales producing these pulses generate a so-called chorus, by spectrally and temporally overlapping single vocalizations. Both fin whale pulses and fin whale chorus provide a distinct source of information on fin whales present at different distances to the recording location. The manual review of vast amounts of passive acoustic data for the presence of single vocalizations and chorus by human experts is, however, time-consuming, often suffers from low reproducibility and in its entirety, it is practically impossible. In this publication, we present and compare robust algorithms for the automatic detection of fin whale choruses and pulses which yield good performance results (i.e., false positive rates < 3% and true positive rates > 76%) when applied to real-world passive acoustic datasets characterized by vast amounts of data, with only a small proportion of the data containing the target sounds, and diverse soundscapes from the Southern Ocean.

Background Achieving changing needs, advancing knowledge, and innovations in higher education require the constant changes of medical school curricula and successfully applying the new reforms requires some modifications in the medical educators’ core beliefs. The purpose of this study was to describe the medical educators’ beliefs about the alignment of the learning goals with teaching and assessment processes in the context of the curriculum changes. Method A qualitative method was used to study the medical educators’ beliefs through selecting the faculty participants via a purposeful sampling strategy. The study was conducted at a Medical School in Iran. For the individual interviews, we invited both the professors of the basic sciences and the clinical professors who had thought medical students for at least 5 years. Ten educators were interviewed. Result The results of the research showed that, in the professors’ viewpoints, the development of competencies in the students has been abandoned and this is due to the priority of treatment to education in the clinical courses and the limited learning experiences. Moreover, the gap between the content and the context and the attendance of the students in the hospitals instead of the clinics to pass their internship courses has reduced the provision of authentic learning experiences. These conditions have affected the quality of education negatively. The non-systematic assessment has also worsened the situation. Conclusion Despite the changes in the curriculum, the compartmentalization of the curriculum and the structure of the medical education have caused the professors’ beliefs to be in line with the past perspectives. Some modifications in the structure of the curriculum seem to be necessary.

Exactly young people became motive force in the civilization choice of Ukraine. The countries of ES attract young people from the whole world, especially prospects are seen in studies and employment. Sexual dimorphisms are widespread in the animal kingdom. At the behavioral level, there is evidence for sex differences in social play behavior. In rats, males typically engage more in rough-and-tumble play than females. One prominent component of the rough-and-tumble play repertoire in rats is the emission of 50-kHz ultrasonic vocalizations (USV). Such 50-kHz USV reflect the rewarding nature of play and serve as socioaffective signals. Here, we provide evidence for sexual dimorphisms within rough-and-tumble play-induced 50-kHz USV in juvenile rats. Specifically, females displayed reduced 50-kHz USV emission during playful interactions. This reduction was associated with changes in 50-kHz USV emission rates and subtype profiles during specific rough-and-tumble components, i.e., pinning, wrestling, and chasing, as well as differences in acoustic parameters. Interestingly, sex differences were modulated by Cacna1c, a gene strongly implicated in major neuropsychiatric disorders, often characterized by prominent sex biases, most notably autism. Specifically, Cacna1c haploinsufficiency affected the emission of 50-kHz USV during rough-and-tumble play in female rats and we provide evidence supporting the notion that such effects of Cacna1c haploinsufficiency are driven by male-typical features of 50-kHz USV emission. Urbanization drives changes in acoustic communication systems in some animal species. Noise and light pollution are among the main urban factors known to disrupt the timing and structure of avian singing behaviour. Despite our understanding of the ways in which urbanization can drive variations in avian acoustic communication, our ability to generalize the underlying causes of such variation and its consequences is still limited. Here, we reviewed the literature focused on the study of avian dawn choruses in urban settings at a global scale. Our findings reveal that avian dawn chorus research has focused on the impact of anthropogenic noise on dawn chorus traits (i.e. timing, peak, song output, song frequencies); relationships between light pollution and chorus timing; the effects of temperature, cloudiness, moonlight and natural light on chorus timing; relationships between nocturnal noise and light, and dawn chorus timing; the effects of chemical pollution and supplementary feeding on dawn chorus activity; and ecological patterns of dawn choruses in soundscapes across urban-non-urban gradients. We identified important knowledge gaps in the study of avian dawn choruses in urban settings and thus suggest future research directions, including frameworks (e.g. the urbanization intensity gradient) and consideration of a wider array of urban conditions and variables. Given the complexity of urban settings, we encourage further studies to address the role that all sources of pollution can have on avian acoustic communication at dawn. Additionally, a central question to resolve is whether the function of avian dawn choruses in urban areas differs, and if so how, from non-urban counterparts. Given that most research has been performed across Holarctic cities and towns, studies from tropical and subtropical regions are needed if we aim to understand the phenomenon globally. Finally, studies at the community- and soundscape-level across cities could advance understanding of the way in which urban birds use the acoustic space during the most critical singing time period, dawn.

Noise affects the recognition of acoustic signals by masking information. To compensate for increased noise, individuals often increase the minimum frequency of their vocalization to reduce noise interference. Our goal was to analyze the effect of noise on the characteristics of different bird vocalizations, through a comparative study of vocalizations on the same bird species. We analyzed the effects of noise variation on the fine spectrotemporal characteristics of calls, songs, and duets of White-eared Ground-sparrows (Melozone leucotis) across three populations over a three-year period. We recorded vocalizations and noise levels simultaneously from 41 territories between 2012 and 2014. We measured the duration, minimum, maximum, and maximum amplitude frequency, and counted the number of songs elements for each vocalization recorded. As we predicted, noise influences the minimum frequency of song, but did not have an effect on the fine spectrotemporal characteristics for calls and duets. We did, however, find that low and high frequency of calls and duets increased with noisepopulation-year interaction. Our results suggest that differences in noise values at each population were inadequate to observe changes in vocalization characteristics. In conclusion, evaluating responses to different noise levels on different vocalization types for the same species expands our understanding of the flexibility of birds to adjust vocalizations in response to anthropogenic noise. The purpose of this study was to explore differences in characteristics of missions dispatched by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) between rural and urban areas of Riyadh province in Saudi Arabia (SA). It also aimed at identifying weaknesses related to utilization and Response Time (RT). The study retrospectively evaluated 146,639 completed missions in 2018 by measuring the utilization rate in rural and urban areas. The study shows there are six times more ambulance crews available for rural areas compared to urban. There were 22.1 missions per 1000 urban inhabitants and 11.2 missions per 1000 in rural areas. The median RT for high urgent trauma cases was 20.2 min in rural compared to 15.2 min in urban areas (p &lt, 0.001). In urban areas, the median RT for high urgent medical cases was 16.1 min, while it was 15.2 min for high urgent trauma cases. Around 62.3% of emergency cases in urban and 56.5% in rural areas were responded to within 20.00 min. Women utilized EMS less frequently. The RT was increased in urban areas compared to previous studies. The RT in the central region of SA has been identified as equal, or less than 20.00 min in 62.4% of all emergency cases. To further improve adherence to the 20&prime, target, reorganizing the lowest urgent cases in the rural areas seems necessary.

La práctica empresarial en la Gerencia de Ciencia, Innovación y Cooperación de la Gobernación del Meta, ha sido muy constructiva en mil aspectos, las labores que se hacen día a día son muy importantes y aportan en gran valor a la Secretaría de Competitividad y Desarrollo Económico. El gran fuerte de la oficina ha sido el tema de la cooperación internacional, donde se ha llevado un seguimiento detallado de cada intervención por parte de las agencias de cooperación que trabajan en el departamento, destacando que este es el Departamento que en el año 2018 más recibió aportes de cooperación internacional en el país, debido a la cercanía del departamento y al impacto que ha tenido en relación al conflicto armado de más de 50 años. Como principal herramienta la Gerencia ha implementado un software de cooperación llamado el SISCOOPMETA, donde refleja cada detalle de las operaciones de las agencias de cooperación internacional, detalles como: descripción del programa, líneas del programa, sub-líneas, municipios, financiación, entre otros datos, los cuales son importantes a la hora de realizar los informes de gestión y para brindar esta información al cooperante que la requiera. Por otra parte las reuniones y actividades de articulación realizadas por la Gerencia, donde se destaca esa intención de relacionar no solamente a las agencias de cooperación con la institucionalidad, sino a los demás entes que participan en el departamento, como lo son: la academia, el sector privado, el sector agro, sector turismo, en conjunto con los cooperantes, donde se tiene en cuenta el punto de vista de cada uno para así crear soluciones conjuntas; por último se realizan reuniones de transferencia de conocimiento junto con otros departamentos por la modalidad Col-Col para fortalecer relaciones institucionales y crear procesos más eficientes con la información aprendida. Las convocatorias internacionales son muy importantes en el proceso de las prácticas ya que manejar ese tema me correspondió a mí, el cual es indagar en agencias de cooperación y/o en páginas web del gobierno nacional convocatorias a nivel internacional las cuales puedan aplicar grupos de interés del departamento, donde se les comparte la información y se les hace un acompañamiento al proceso de postulación para que puedan aplicar de forma eficiente. Por último y uno de los temas más trascendentes es el tema de la política pública de internacionalización, la cual se trabajó intensamente durante el segundo semestre del año 2019, en su fase diagnóstico y en la preparación para la fase de construcción de política, donde cada viernes se hacían reuniones de avances y socialización de resultados, donde como resultado final se realizó la 1ra Socialización de la Política Pública de internacionalización del Meta la cual dio como resultado el documento consolidado para la realización de la construcción de la política pública, esto en conjunto con los siguientes sectores: instituciones estatales, productivo-gremial, academia y cooperantes. Vocal learning often results in distinct dialects among individuals or groups, but the forces selecting for these phenomena remain unclear. Female sperm whales, Physeter macrocephalus, and their dependent offspring live in matrilineally based social units, and the units associate within sympatric clans.
