W niniejszej publikacji przybliżamy historie największych zakładów przemysłowych okresu PRL i łódzkiego świata pracy – codziennego doświadczenia pracownic i pracowników. Mamy nadzieję, że książka pozwoli lepiej zrozumieć Łódź i jej przemysłowe dziedzictwo. Jest to także podsumowanie kilkuletniej pracy interdyscyplinarnego zespołu osób związanych z Łódzkim Stowarzyszeniem Inicjatyw Miejskich Topografie, które od dekady tworzy Cyfrowe Archiwum Łodzian Miastograf.pl i stara się zachować pamięć o ostatnich etapach trwania wielkiej przemysłowej Łodzi. Żyjąc i pracując w postindustrialnych realiach, każdego dnia zdajemy sobie sprawę, jak silnie tamten czas oddziałuje na losy miasta i jego mieszkańców. Projekt został dofinansowany z Programu Patriotyzm Jutra – Muzeum Historii Polski oraz przez Urząd Miasta Łodzi.

The aim of the study was to design a weather station dedicated for applications in the forestry. The device is thought to be used to measure temperature, pressure, humidity and sunlight and to record that data to the microSD memory card supplementing also the information on the time of measurement. The objective of the field part of the study was to gather accurate meteorological data from the interior of the forest to the geostatistical analysis, necessary for breeding purposes. Here we present the assumptions for technical equipment and describe the components of the device, including the systems of sensor and control. In the further stage of the study we performed the comparative test of the prototype with a professional weather station. The results show a very strong correlation between data form both devices, while the average error relative is at a very satisfactory level: temperature (0.15°C), relative humidity (–3.73%), pressure (–3.37 hPa) and light intensity (–0.82 klx). The project proved that it is possible to construct simple and economically grounded weather station. The total cost of presented prototype does not exceed 500 PLN (ca. 110 US$). We suggest to continue further research and development of the network of similar weather stations. Granulomatosis with polyangiitis is autoimmune and rare disease. It affects many organs, but the most often affected organs are the nose, lungs, and kidneys. It is part of vasculitis and causes an autoimmune attack by an abnormal type of circulating antibody termed ANCAs against small blood vessels. Disease concerns both men and women with a peak age of presentation in the sixth and seven decades. Typically upper and lower respiratory tract and kidneys are involved. Otitis externa, otitis media, or mastoiditis rarely occurs in granulomatosis with polyangiitis. Deafness is the most dangerous aural complication. Histological examination of biopsy is often not specific. A case of GPA with bilateral otitis media, bilateral deafness, and bilateral facial palsy with fatal course is presented.

Ostatnia dekada historii Sojuszu Północnoatlantyckiego wypełniona była wyzwaniami o niespotykanej dotąd skali różnorodności, co stało się przyczyną strategicznej debaty zainicjowanej na szczeblach polityczno-wojskowych struktur dowodzenia i kierowania NATO. Dyskusje oscylowały wokół złożoności natury współczesnych konfliktów oraz wpływu tego stanu rzeczy na doktryny sojuszu. Reagowanie kryzysowe w dobie XXI stulecia, zgodnie ze zidentyfikowanymi trendami, wymaga wirtuozerii w dziedzinie posługiwania się instrumentami siły. Kombinacja tak zwanej hard power i soft power w narracji teoretyków doktryn zyskała miano smart power. Termin odnoszący się do pojęcia wielowymiarowych kampanii reagowania kryzysowego wywołał liczne refl eksje, których skutkiem stały się konsultacje oraz studia współczesnych strategii NATO. Reformatorskie tendencje po raz pierwszy zostały formalnie zdefiniowane na szczycie Sojuszu w Rydze w 2006 r. Inspirowane naturą współczesnych konfl iktów badania zaowocowały powstaniem nurtu strategicznego zwanego comprehensive approach (CA). Jego geneza sięga korzeni teorii smart power oraz effects based operations, natura natomiast jest mocno osadzona w skoordynowanym aplikowaniu militarnych, cywilnych i ekonomicznych instrumentów siły. Autor poddaje analizie genezę oraz okoliczności powstania filozofi i CA; ukazuje strategiczny kontekst budowy nowego nurtu w dziedzinie reagowania kryzysowego i naturę CA, przytaczając różne perspektywy narodowe. Analizie poddano aparat pojęciowy funkcjonujący obecnie w Sojuszu. W celu ukazania stopnia implementacji strategii na grunt doktryn operacyjnych różnych szczebli NATO. Autor przytacza przykłady rozwiązań strukturalnych w systemie dowodzenia Sojuszu, wynikających z konieczności dostosowania kształtu instytucji do nowej fi lozofi i działania. Opracowanie ilustruje również praktyczne zastosowanie CA na podstawie wybranych przykładów koncepcji wdrażanych w ramach operacji NATO w Afganistanie. Podsumowanie to refleksja dotycząca adekwatności comprehensive approach do wyzwań, które zdefiniowano na szycie Sojuszu w Walii. Słowa kluczowe: kompleksowe podejście, reagowanie kryzysowe, NATO, bezpieczeństwo międzynarodowe, bezpieczeństwo globalne, bezpieczeństwo europejskie, doktryna, strategia.

Please visit: http://krzysztoffirlej.pl/ Streszczenie: Artykuł przedstawia ewaluację zagrożenia upadłością przedsiębiorstw przemysłu spo- żywczego, notowanych na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie. Głównym celem badań było wyłonienie przedsiębiorstw zagrożonych upadłością spośród wszystkich przedsiębiorstw wybranych do analizy. Realizacji powyższego zamierzenia badawczego posłużyły wybrane modele analizy dyskryminacyjnej. Obliczenia zostały dokonane na podstawie wyników finansowych wyselekcjonowanych spółek za rok 2012. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła sformułować następujące wnioski: przetwórstwo przemysłowe rozpatrywane jako całość, nie jest wolne od problemu upadłości; 3 spośród 25 wyselekcjonowanych przedsiębiorstw należałoby uznać za zagrożone upadłością; choć zazwyczaj to brak płynności finansowej wymusza na przedsiębiorstwach ogłoszenie upadłości, to niska efektywność gospodarowania posiadanym majątkiem jest tym czynnikiem, który spycha je na jej skraj. Summary: Article presents evaluation of the risk of failure of the food producing companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange. The main objective of this study was to identify companies that are at risk of bankruptcy. In order to achieve this goal some discriminant models were chosen. The calculations were made based on financial results published by the chosen companies for year 2012. Subjects of the survey were group of 25 companies, listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange, creating WIG-Food Industry Index. The analysis allowed to conclude that food industry (considered as a whole) is not free from risk of failure. 3 out of 25 selected companies should be classified as in danger of failure. Even though lack of liquidity is the factor that forces companies to declare bankruptcy, lack of efficiency of using own assets is the factor that moves them on the brink of failure. Introduction: Extracranial meningioma might be primary (ectopic), without any connection to the cranial cavity or it might be secondary as an extracranial extension of intracranial tumor. The aim of the study: The aim of the study was to evaluate clinical presentation and results of treatment of secondary extracranial meningioma. Material and methods: The group included 4 patients with the tumor of the nasal cavity and sinuses, and 7 patients with the tumor involving the infratemporal fossa. Patient notes were reviewed to collect required data. Apart from one case all the patients were operated first in a Department of Neurosurgery 6months – 13 years before presentation to our institution. CT and/or MRI were performed and the radiograms well demonstrated location and extension of the tumor. For nasal and sinus tumors endonasal or sublabial approach was used. In a patient with infratemporal fossa, orbit and sphenoid sinus tumor sublabial transantral removal was performed. Other meningiomas invading the infratemporal space from the middle cranial fossa were removed via infratemporal fossa approach. Results: Two patients with massive cavernous sinus involvement died 7 and 11 years after the first surgery. Other patients are alive without disease. Conclusion: Imaging radiography well demonstrates extension of extracranial meningioma.
