The article formulates a modern concept of competencies in pathological physiology for more effective implementation in the scientific and educational process of higher medical educational institutions in Ukraine, as well as for the unification of education at the departments of pathological physiology. All competencies are divided into integral, general and special. The features of each group of competencies, their importance for successful training, particularly at the Department of Pathological Physiology, are separately highlighted. Presented ways of special competencies formation of students who studying at the Department of Pathological Physiology of DSMU, including in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Successful mastering of competencies during training in the discipline of “pathological physiology” contributes to the formation of a highly qualified doctor, because it forms the skills of clinical thinking, analysis, communication, deduction and others necessary for the work of a doctor of any specialty. In fact, that pathological physiology is “opening the door” for students to the concepts of “disease”, “etiology”, “pathogenesis”, forming general basic knowledge about various diseases of systems and organs. Independent work of students is important for the formation of self-education skills. This is critical to being competitive and fitting to modern requirements. Therefore, a doctor must constantly improve his skills, supplement his knowledge with new data, and develops new preventive and therapeutic measures. Attracting students to a scientific society is an important link in training, because under the guidance of a teacher, a student masters elaborate medical literature, writing scientific articles, reports at society meetings, participates in experimental research carried out according to the planned department research work. All this together creates original and conceptual medical thinking, critical under-standing of problems. The competence-based approach was taken into training program developing in pathological physiology for masters of medicine and introduced into lectures, practical classes and independent work of students.

The purpose of the research is weapon analysis and refinement of gun attribution from Lviv Historical Museum Collection. The research methodology is based on empirical approaches to historical weapon science, laser scanning method has been used. The source base is the weapon of assets and inventory books of Lviv Historical Museum and Museum of Scientific Society named after T. Shevchenko. The Scientific Novelty. The paper offers a detailed analysis of a short-barrelled wrought iron firearm of the end of the XIVth – beginning of the XVth centuries preserved in the collection of LHM. The history, development and dissemination of this type of guns has been analyzed. Furthermore, the museum history of the gun has been dealt with and its possible provenance has been proposed. The Conclusions. A thorough research of military artifacts of the museum collections enables to expand the horizons of scientific knowledge, open new aspects of the issue. In addition to documental items, the remnants of armed artifacts are considered as important historical source. Nowadays, another important issue is given to the history of guns in the museum collections. Skilled reading of morphology of a barrel is particularly important in the study of a gun. Each saved artillery item has a historical, scientific, cultural, antique and ethnographic value and requires a thorough and comprehensive research. Considering the absence of a documental background, every single gun of that period is invaluable for science. Since the gunpowder implementation for military purposes, the era of experimentational gunsmiths had launched. There were produced extremely large as well as small artillery guns. The original handmade guns differed just in size, weight and caliber from the first artillery systems. On the basis of analysis and comparison of a number of sources and facts, it was suggested that the guns could be manufactured in Belz at the end of the XIVth – beginning of the XVth centuries.

Background The article reviews the history of the study, development and application of the method of transosseous osteosynthesis in the Middle Urals. G.A. Ilizarov first presented his device and the results of its use in fracture repair at a meeting of the Trauma and Orthopedic Scientific Society in Sverdlovsk in December 1952. The report was met with great interest. Prof. F.R. Bogdanov invited him to conduct research on bone regeneration during compression osteosynthesis at the Ural Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics. The work initiated by G.A. Ilizarov and V.I. Stetsula gave rise to a large and longterm research on transosseous osteosynthesis at the Institute. The study focused on regeneration of bone, muscles, blood vessels and nerves, development and justification of compression-distraction osteosynthesis in fractures, limb shortening, nonunions, bone deformities, severe injuries to the pelvis, spine and spinal cord. Basic research was conducted to explore the role of the blood system and immune reactions involved in bone formation during limb lengthening. Material and methods Databases of scientific works and technical solutions registered with authorship certificates and patents of the USSR and the Russian Federation by fellow workers of the VOSKHITO, SNIITO, the Ural Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics, the holdings of the Institute's scientific archive facility were used for the article. The search depth is 68 years. Results The Ural V.D. Chaklin Research Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedics has been studying and using the method of G.A. Ilizarov for many years and has made a significant contribution through theoretical rationale, development of new technologies of transosseous osteosynthesis, introduction and spread of the techniques over the vast territory of the Middle Urals and neighboring regions. Conclusion Despite the fact that in the recent years, transosseous osteosynthesis has to a certain extent been replaced in Russia by modern techniques with constructs of internal osteosynthesis, but there is no alternative to the method of G.A. Ilizarov in the treatment of gunshot wounds, open fractures, polytrauma, extensive bone defects, achondroplasia and many other disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Although great advances have been made on large-scale manufacturing of vaccines and antiviral-based drugs, viruses persist as the major cause of human diseases nowadays. The recent pandemic of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) mounts a lot of stress on the healthcare sector and the scientific society to search continuously for novel components with antiviral possibility. Herein, we narrated the different tactics of using biopeptides as antiviral molecules that could be used as an interesting alternative to treat COVID-19 patients. The number of peptides with antiviral effects is still low, but such peptides already displayed huge potentials to become pharmaceutically obtainable as antiviral medications. Studies showed that animal venoms, mammals, plant, and artificial sources are the main sources of antiviral peptides, when bioinformatics tools are used. This review spotlights bioactive peptides with antiviral activities against human viruses, especially the coronaviruses such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) virus, and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2 or SARS-nCOV19). We also showed the data about well-recognized peptides that are still under investigations, while presenting the most potent ones that may become medications for clinical use.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW To clarify a lingering issue, the true incidence of repeated implantation failures (RIF) in women undergoing successive frozen euploid single embryo transfers (FE-SET). RECENT FINDINGS As not all Assisted reproductive techinique (ART) attempts are crowned by success, it has been questioned since incept of ART whether failures resulted from an embryonic or endometrial cause. RIF has received no precise definition but a trend has existed toward setting a more stringent definition, as reproductive biology has become more effective and ART success rates improved. No scientific society has yet convened on a universally accepted definition. The advent of effective and well tolerated pregestational testing of embryos for aneuploidy (PGT-A) has allowed to not transfer aneuploid embryos, which are bound not to succeed. This, therefore, justify revisiting the concept of RIF when only euploid embryos are transferred. SUMMARY Contrary to lingering beliefs, the results of our study indicate that RIF following three successive euploid embryo transfers in a morphologically normal endometrium is a rare occurrence (

Emerged from the German Association for Cannabis as Medicine (ACM), a handful of enthusiastic medical doctors from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria supported by experts from other countries established the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines (IACM) in March 2000. During the past 20 years until today, it evolved toward the most important scientific society for clinical research in the field of cannabis-based medicines. The overarching aim of the IACM is to advance the knowledge on cannabis, cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, and related topics especially with regard to their therapeutic potential, which would allow more patients to profit from a treatment with cannabis-based medicines and ease legislators to adopt their policies. To reach this goal, the IACM organizes international scientific conferences, biweekly publishes the IACM-Bulletin—currently in six different languages—reaching more than 5000 people worldwide, and is working closely together with patient associations, international partner organizations, and IACM ambassadors. In 2019, a collaborative partnership with the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research was established.

The article reflects the main historical stages of the formation of Ukrainian Pentecostal theology over the past thirty years: from the “birth” of the first church schools to the defense dissertations of doctoral level. Author has presented connection between post-soviet Pentecostal dogmatic system with evangelical traditional of dispensationalism and literal hermeneutic method in study of the Bible. Obviously, that Pentecostal Churches were strongly influenced through the Baptist Bible Courses in Moscow, because many Pentecostal leaders completed them. The author demonstrated the role of Bible Seminaries founded in independent Ukraine by western missioners of leading church`s unions, like the Assembly of God and the Church of God. The article identifies two models of the Pentecostal education (“church” and “academic” approaches) that address to the different needs of church society. “Church” type of theological education tries to teach important topics connected with applied questions of church ministry. However, this approach has a weak side hidden in methodology of research. As a result, not all research papers completed by graduates of the church-oriented school are interesting for Ukrainian scientific society. For control of quality in Ukrainian theological schools, EAAA was founded. Another direction of the development of the Ukrainian pentecostal theological model thinking is the “academic model” of theological education, that today develops in cooperation with state institutions. Through the analysis of the topics of defended dissertations, the author identifies key trends in the development of the Ukrainian Pentecostal movement. Among key topics, there is introspective research of the own roots, reasons of spreading alternative church movement in USSR, and its place on the World religious map. Like prognostic conclusion of all the text, the author identified several topics that may be interesting for Western academic partners, like “theology of Maidan”, “Church peaceful strategies for East of Ukraine” and “Ecological theology in light of Chernobyl’s tragedy”.

Almost 10 years ago, clinicians at multiple locations all over Europe observed an increased number of antenatally undiagnosed cases of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) resulting in significant morbidity and the occasional maternal death. Even with an improvement in antenatal imaging, the management of severe PAS remains challenging. One solution to improve understanding in rare but potentially lethal conditions is international collaboration. Consequently, a European working group was formed, which over the next few years grew into an international society, the IS-PAS. The collective goals are to develop a large shared database of cases, generate high-quality research into all aspects of PAS, and improve education of both healthcare professionals and patients. The first results of this collaboration are presented within this supplement. Non

The article is devoted to understanding the essence of learning technology through research and training of future teachers to use it in practice activities. The use of elements of this technology in primary school allows students to join in creative activities, to be interested in activities. Many educators believe that the use of learning technologies in the study needs necessity, because the teacher must be the organizer, observer, researcher of the team and each child individually. Therefore, it is very important that students acquire research skills while still in an educational institution. Analyzing the formation and development stages of research work, we can say that the origin came from the creation of scientific circles, which initially had a scientific, entertainment or political nature. Later, scientific offices, laboratories, and libraries began to be established. After the university reform, scientific societies were organized to stimulate students' scientific and cognitive activities, the purpose of which was to deepen the study of various aspects of science. Writing of term papers, diploma theses, participation in conferences, round tables, competitions of scientific works is widely used in modern institutions of higher education. All this contributes to the activation of the creative scientific potential of each student. The main directions of work and student`s preparation for the implementation of learning technology through research in working with primary school children are analyzed on the example of the student scientific society “Academy” of The Municipal Higher Educational Institution “Lutsk Pedagogical College” of the Volyn Regional Council . It is noted that the number of participants increases every year, which indicates the interest of students and the desire to learn. It is determined that the teacher should promote the development of children's abilities, involve in research work, not be afraid to experiment, create favorable conditions for learning. This is possible when he is able to research and use this technology in practice by himself.

- Abstract
A group of intellectuals, predominantly lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine, founded in Rijeka on May 29, 1966 the branch of the Yugoslav Scientific Society for the History of Health Culture, which after the independence of Croatia in 1991 continues its work under the name Croatian Scientific Society for the History of Health Culture. Over the past 50 years, within activities of the Society more than 250 professional and scientific conferences have been held in Rijeka and other Croatian cities. In addition, a dozen of professional-scientific trips to neighbouring countries were organized. From the original activities are highlighted the science conventions with international participation "Rijeka and Its Citizens in Medical History", where, since 2001, have been regularly presented free topics from other regions. Another important activity is the international journal "AMHA - Acta medico-historica Adriatica", which has been published since 2003 with two issues per year. Today, this is an established journal present on Medline - PubMed Service, and indexed in several respectable international databases, which guarantees quality and enables access to the world's research community. In 2005, the accompanying "AMHA Library" was launched - a series of monographs devoted to the most important medical historians, scientific conferences dedicated to individual medical laureates, and similar subjects. Ten years ago, the Society's work has been refined by the activities of a group of medical students who, under the motto "In honour of Asclepius and Orpheus", strive to affirm the links between medicine and art. Of the many performances the most significant is the traditional humanitarian concert, attended by students from all faculties of medicine from Croatia and Ljubljana. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article is a survey of the Russian translation of “Laws of the Great Ming dynasty” in four volumes published since 1997 to 2019. The introduction of this legal monument to the Russian scientific society is of great importance as it substantially expands contemporary idea on Chinese traditional legal system and meets a lack in the history of law ofChinain 14th–17th cc.To survey the legal monument there special legal scientific methods were used. Historical legal approach allowed to trace the creation and acting of this codification in the specific historical circumstances, value its urgency for the epoch of Ming dynasty (1368–1644). Comparative legal method gave an opportunity to compare this legal monument with other codifications of traditional Chinese law since the ancient times to the legislation of Qing, last dynasty of the imperialChina(1644–1911). Formal legal approach provided the analysis of the legal technique of the document, specific features of its structure and content, characteristic of legal terminology, etc.The analysis allowed to appreciate the “Laws of the Great Ming dynasty” at its high value as a source on history, state and law of medievalChina. It had similarities and differences with other sources of traditional Chinese law. Besides, it is of great importance for the further development of legislation of imperialChina. The codification is an important document on statehood and law of the Ming China as it contains valuable information on power system and competence of authorities, basic fields of legal relations in the medieval Chinese society. Its structure is traditional (based on the example of codification of Tang dynasty, 618–907), at the same time it has larger volume and regulates new fields of legal relations, takes into account changes in the internal and externaln status ofChinaafter the expelling the Mongolian Yuan dynasty (1271–1368) and foundation of “national” Ming dynasty. Some principles of domestic and foreign policy of Qing dynasty were legally fixed during the epoch of Ming. The analyzed legal monument is of great interest for researchers of the history ofChina, its state and law. In fact, each chapter as well as specific articles and supplement statements could be a subject of investigation. “Laws of the Great Ming dynasty” also could be used by lecturers of history of state and law and for students who study this discipline.

Argentina was able to anticipate public health interventions in order to flatten the contagion curve of CoViD-19. Eighty-three surgeons answered an online survey to assess the impact of the pandemic on bariatric surgery (BS) in Argentina. Most of them showed a high economic dependence on BS. Near 90% of health institutions were on phase 0 or I. While 90% still performed other laparoscopic surgeries, BS was suspended. In many surgeries for nonsuspected CoViD-19 patients, high personnel protection resources were applied. Ninety-five percent offered virtual consults. Most surgeons would not change usual algorithms or techniques. To restart BS a scientific society recommendation was expected, including patient selection criteria. The opinions gathered by this survey were taken into account to elaborate official recommendations for restarting elective BS.

In regards to the Cannizzaro reaction and its peculiar mechanism, some researchers have presented a free radical mechanism for the Cannizzaro reaction, while others have found that it is feasible through an ionic mechanism, but the actual mechanism has not been finalized yet. The researchers have given the proof of both the mechanisms through their papers published. Actually, Cannizzaro reaction may occur through both mechanisms depending on both molecular structure and different conditions which are yet to be explained. Recently published papers describe that free radical mechanism occurs only in a heterogeneous medium, while an ionic mechanism occurs in a homogeneous medium. We revealed no explanation of the molecular structure-based reason, responsible for a radical or an ionic mechanism. The present paper reviews not only homogeneous/heterogeneous medium conditions but also molecular structure-based facts, which may be responsible for the Cannizzaro reaction to occur through the radical or ionic mechanism, and that may be acceptable to the scientific society. Besides, Density Functional Theory study using Gaussian software was also involved in the explanation of the molecular structure, responsible for one of the two mechanisms. Also, the present paper specifies all points related to future perspectives on which additional studies are required to understand the actual mechanism with a definite molecular structure in the different reaction media.

This paper presents a technical assessment of wind power potential for five promising wind sites in Jordan: Tafila, Zabda, Royal Scientific Society, Al-Alia and Al-Reesha wind sites. This assessment is based on developing a new methodology of estimating the wind energy by estimating the main wind parameters for a specific wind site. The developed methodology is originally based on a website data provided by the national wind energy atlas. Microsoft excel environment is used to estimate the total wind energy, the maximum repetition wind speed and the wind speed contributing the maximum energy in a specific wind regime. The validation process for this methodology has been carried out using measured wind speed data provided by the Energy Research Centre. The error between the estimated wind energy and the measured value is less than 10% for all cases. The highest energy is available in Tafilah wind site with around 6 MWh. In order to obtain an accurate comparison for the selected sites, the wind energy was estimated at uniform height, selected to be the standard height (10m). The importance of this model is that it can be utilized routinely to assess the wind energy potential in a specific location, so a decision can be made whether a wind farm can be built or not in that location without any need to install anemometers.

The object of this research is the reflection in Siberian press of the last quarter of XIX – beginning of XX centuries of civil educational initiatives in Eastern Siberia. In this time, local press created the image of Siberian reality, and actively formed public opinion on the new sociocultural phenomena. The subject of this research is the public educational initiatives in the sphere of culture of Eastern Siberia on the pages of Siberian newspapers in the last quarter of XIX – beginning of XX centuries. The goal consists in determination of substantive components that frame public opinion on the implementation of educational initiatives in the sphere of culture. The relevance of the selected topic is defined by the fact that periodical press contributed not only to information awareness, but also to mobilization of intelligentsia to resolve topical issues of education. Historiography is based on the newspaper materials, published and archival materials. Newspapers of liberal trend enjoyed most popularity, since they not only reflected the modernization processes in the sphere of culture, but also framed public opinion. The author outlines several themes that became thematic dominants based on the frequency of mentioning: the urgent need for Eastern Siberia (in the context of absence of Zemstvo) to show public and private initiative in the sphere of culture and its reliance on the number of educated people; characteristics of government policy; role of officialdom; discreteness of public initiatives and its factors; higher purpose of educational institutions; need for active innovative leader; need for systematic and coordinated work of various voluntary organizations in the sphere of culture. According to the press, successful realization of civil sociocultural initiatives required the presence of several factors; each of them to a greater or lesser degree determined the consolidation of innovations in sociocultural environment and dynamics in the development of civil initiatives in the sphere of culture.

The Society of Physical sciences (phisycs, chemistry and mineralogy) has been an important Romanian scientific society since its establishment, in 1890 until the middle of the twentieth century. This paper seeks to provide an analysis of its activity in the first two decades of existence, a less studied period, namely how its enterprises contributed to the dissemination and spread of the latest scientific ideas within Romania’s culture. The society was founded at the initiative of some of the most proeminent Romanian scientists of that period and, until the end of the nineteenth century, it expanded its sphere of activity by including sections on mathemathics and natural history. Therefore, its activity, exemplified by public conferences, presentation of members’ personal scientific endeavors, intellectual debates or scientific missions, reflected the general development of physical sciences in Romania in that epoch. This research is based mostly on a close scrutiny of society’s scientific journal.

He invested “all his savings” into the development and improvement of his Belarusian estate and created a strong household with a beautiful park. For Ya. F. Golovatsky, Votnya gradually became a vibrant research laboratory to study both the past and the present of Belarusians. This was reflected, for example, in his assessment of the famous “Dictionary of the Belarusian dialect” by I. I. Nosovich. For many years after the death of the owner of Votnya in 1888, his widow and daughters lived in the estate. It brought income that was also used to create a special scholarship foundation named after Yakov Golovatsky in the framework of the Shevchenko Scientific society in Lviv. For citationLabyntsev Yu.
