The objective of this article is to investigate the space-time dynamics of vegetation cover and land use and the Environmental State of the landscape regions of the southwestern portion of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso.The vegetation cover and land use maps were generated from the Landsat 5 satellite images from 1984, and Landsat 8 from 2013 in the SPRING software. Map quantifications and layouts were elaborated withArcGis. The regionalization and analysis of the environmental state of the landscape were made through a regional geoecological matrix. From the results obtained, it was verified that the anthropic uses in the period of study were expanded by 134.08% while the vegetal coverings were reduced by 21.66% and the water bodies by 39%. Pasture is the predominant land use in the region, 24.09% (31,335.86 km²), mainly occupying the flat and smooth wavy terrain. Forest cover totaled 66.36% (84,967.12 km2), being found mainly in forest fragments, in which the larger territorial dimensions are either protected by environmental legislation or located in indigenous lands. Eight landscape regions were delimited in the southwest portion of Mato Grosso, including the Paraguay River Depression, which presents the landscape with the highest percentage of anthropic uses, predominantly the Degraded Environmental State. It was concluded that there is a need to adopt land use practices that minimize the environmental degradation of landscape regions, considering that during the period under investigation, the expansion of anthropic uses, mainly Livestock, directly influenced the suppression of vegetation cover. Analyzing the urban space related to its own growth allows to identify the identification of the dynamics of the natural elements and the way the intensified anthropic action shapes and at the same time degrades the landscape, which in the present study is the Pantanal biome. The objective of this study is to use high resolution images and vegetation cover indexes to analyze the urban expansion of Cáceres/MT, and to generate financial support for municipal planning and management. For the execution of this research, remote sensing images and a Geographic Information System (GIS) were used, as well as demographic census data. The urban expansion contributed to the removal of 19.62% of the vegetation and to the increase of 15.28% of anthropic use. The Caceres Vegetation Cover Index is high, with vegetation percentages above 30% occurring in 74.42% of the neighborhoods. From the date of the study on the Index of Vegetation Cover for Inhabitant (ICVH) decreased by 37.20%, remained at 32.55% and increased by 30.25%. It was concluded that an increase in the use of urban space contributed to the reduction of vegetation, as well as the decrease of the population associated to the vegetation of the neighborhoods influenced on the decrease of the ICVH. Munchausenu2019s syndrome is a psychiatric disorder in which patients intentionally produce symptoms with the aim to assume the sick role and gain medical attention.Early recognition can avoid unnecessary treatments and invasive diagnostic studies, with their inherent risk of complications.Objectives: Description of a clinical case highlighting the challenging diagnosis and clinical management of the disorder.Methods: Clinical case report and review of the literature on the topic.Results: E., a patient of 47 years with a history of depression, maladaptive personality traits and multiple somatic complaints. Followed in Psychiatry consultations for a somatoform disorder in an irregular way (the patient missed many appointments). This patient has a background of multiple visits to the Urgency room, the commonest complaint being diarrhoea. A comprehensive investigation conducted by Gastroenterology revealed non-specific mucosal lesions of the intestine, of idiopathic aetiology, possibly attributed to diarrhea per se. The patient is suspected to have been taking laxatives to cause the symptoms. She was prescribed amitriptyline and was encouraged to keep follow-up in Psychiatric consultation.Conclusions: After multiple exams, no disease has been confirmed, which leads us to suspect that she intentionally simulates the symptoms.No direct gains from this behaviour were unveiled, apart from obtaining medical and nursing care, thus placing it Munchausen Syndrome as the most likely diagnosis. The most important factor in a successful approach is the early recognition of the disorder, avoiding severe complications such as organ failure or mortality and unnecessary medical exams and treatments.

O escopo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a vulnerabilidade ambiental e os confl itos decorrentes da utilização da terra da municipalidade de Mirassol D?Oeste, na perspectiva da geração de subsídios para o planejamento municipal. O estudo foi desenvolvido através da utilização de metodologias que avaliam o potencial à erosão hídrica laminar, a capacidade de uso da terra e o confl ito de uso da terra para a obtenção da vulnerabilidade ambiental. Foram individualizados 12 morfocompartimentos, sendo que destes os de número 5, 8 e 10 são os que apresentam maior susceptibilidade à erosão devido a declividades superiores a 45% e a presença de Neossolos Quartzarênicos. Em geral o município apresenta médio potencial à erosão laminar, sendo que esta classe ocupa aproximadamente 70% da extensão territorial municipal. Na área de estudo a capacidade de uso com maior representatividade foi a IV, esta classe é composta por terras que são cultiváveis ocasionalmente, onde são encontrados problemas complexos de conservação. A classe de confl ito baixo é a de maior ocorrência (84,95%) na área pesquisada. In our society today technology is already part of the normal day life, but it is something still not available to everyone. There are some that cannot reach it the same way as others do, either because of less resources or because learning can be quite a challenge. After the development of several works with a partnership between VFabLab and EPIS that involved basic level schools, the workshop that will be explained, describes how students in special learning programs get in touch with subjects like digital fabrication; interactive architecture, design, and programing.

Neuropsychiatric symptoms are widely reported in association with both hepatitis C and IFNα treatment [1]its sequelae, and its treatment. In particular, interferon, a primary component of treatment for chronic hepatitis C, has been strongly associated with depressive symptoms. This review summarizes current knowledge about the etiology, course, and treatment of europsychiatric problems associated with hepatitis C and interferon alpha (IFN-alpha and lead to discontinuation of interferon in up to 13% of cases [2]. When on interferon treatment, cognitive, affective and behavioral symptoms are not easily distinguished from each other or from depression [2,3] mechanism, course, and treatment of neuropsychiatric problems associated with interferon alfa (IFN-alpha. The challenge is even higher if in somatoform cases. We describe a case of somatoform disorder while on classic therapy for hepatitis C and discuss the management of the patient main complaints and evolution.

Prestam diversos serviços ecossistêmicos e são reconhecidos ambientes de alta produtividade, constituindo um sistema autossustentável. No Espírito Santo esses ambientes possuem sedimento inconsolidado depositados sobre os recifes, composto predominantemente por material bioclástico como fragmentos de conchas e algas, como os rodolitos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a transgressão ambiental com base no código florestal de 1965 e suas alterações na Área de Preservação Permanente e Reserva Legal na bacia hidrográfica do Rio Queima-Pé/MT. Foram utilizadas imagens do satélite GeoEye com resolução espacial de 3m para identificação das áreas antrópicas e de vegetação natural e determinação das áreas de preservação permanente, apoiado num sistema de informação geográfica. Os buffers das áreas de preservação permanente foram gerados automaticamente no sistema de informação geográfica considerando as nascentes, rede de drenagem e reservatórios artificiais, em seguida foram confrontados com o mapa de atividades antrópicas e vegetação natural elaborado. Os resultados mostram que na região fitoecológica Floresta Semidecidual, a vegetação presente na Reserva Legal é de 7,18% e na Savana (Cerrado) a vegetação natural presente é 7,82%. As áreas de Preservação Permanente estão ocupadas por vegetação ciliar em 64,107% da área. De modo geral a bacia apresenta uma transgressão ambiental de 8.009,81 hectares.

O presente trabalho pretende identificar estruturas arqueológicas enterradas no povoado de Outeiro do Circo (Mombeja, Beja), cruzando dois métodos de prospecção geofísica: georradar e magnetometria. Para concretizar o objectivo da missão realizaram-se ensaios dos dois métodos em áreas distintas. O processamento dos dados registados permitiu identificar estruturas enterradas, nomeadamente os vestígios da muralha que rodeava o povoado e edifícios que terão existido no seu interior. Os resultados de ambos os métodos permitem inferir a existência de estruturas arqueológicas no local, que em breve serão confirmadas pelas escavações arqueológicas em curso.

The aim of this communication is to present the velocity models of propagation of seismic waves P and S using geophysical methods, such as refraction surveys and MASW (Multichannel analysis of surface waves). After determining the velocity models, the results were compared for the same location, with the lithology of the island. These results provide important physical parameters used for a near surface characterization of the soil structure and to predict seismic ground motion in this region.

Interstitial lung diseases (ILD), including those related to connective tissue disease (CTD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) carry high morbidity and mortality. Great efforts are under way to develop and investigate meaningful treatments in the context of clinical trials. However, efforts have been challenged by a lack of validated outcome measures and by inconsistent use of measures in clinical trials. Lack of consensus has fragmented effective use of strategies in CTD-ILD and IPF, with a history of resultant difficulties in obtaining agency approval of treatment interventions. Until recently, the patient perspective to determine domains and outcome measures in CTD-ILD and IPF had never been applied. Efforts described here demonstrate unequivocally the value and influence of patient involvement on core set development. Regarding CTD-ILD, this is the first OMERACT working group to directly address a manifestation/comorbidity of a rheumatic disease (ILD) as well as a disease not considered rheumatic (IPF). The OMERACT 11 proceedings of the CTD-ILD Working Group describe the forward and lateral process to include both the medical and patient perspectives in the urgently needed identification of a core set of preliminary domains and outcome measures in CTD-ILD and IPF.

Resumo: Este trabalho objetivou realizar a caracterização e o diagnóstico ambiental da paisagem na Unidade de Planejamento e Gerenciamento (UPG) Aporé/MS, na perspectiva de contribuir com informações que subsidiem o planejamento ambiental e desenvolvimento territorial. A metodologia foi constituída pela pesquisa bibliográfica; geração dos mapas de uso da terra e cobertura vegetal e vulnerabilidade ambiental; diagnóstico ambiental utilizando na análise o modelo estrutural PER. Os resultados evidenciaram que a UPG apresenta 89,50% de sua área territorial com potencial de vulnerabilidade alto a médio; Não ocorreu ou são baixos os conflitos ambientais derivados do uso em 75,45% da área investigada, sendo que 32,97% da área da UPG são indicados para uso na agricultura, de acordo com a análise da capacidade dos solos; e o elevado potencial erosivo dos solos da UPG pode comprometer a produtividade agropecuária, assim como contaminar e assorear os seus cursos d?água, podendo comprometer a qualidade e a conservação dos elementos ambientais constituintes da paisagem. Assim, a predominância de áreas antrópicas na UPG Aporé demanda a necessidade de monitoramento da cobertura vegetal e uso da terra, visando prevenir e reduzir os impactos causados pelas atividades agropecuárias, agroindustriais e industriais.

Objetivou-se realizar uma análise multitemporal do uso da terra e da cobertura vegetal, avaliando os desdobramentos das ações antrópicas na vegetação ciliar dos cursos hídricos da bacia do Rio Queima-Pé/Mato Grosso. Utilizou-se imagens dos anos de 1991, 2001 e 2011 do Satélite Landsat 5. Para a quantificação do grau de antropização da bacia foi calculado o ITA. Os resultados mostraram a intensificação da agricultura (cana-de-açúcar e soja), que expandiram a cada data investigada. A pecuária decresceu, principalmente nos anos de 1991 a 2001; Houve aumento das classes influência urbana e reflorestamento. Enquanto na Floresta ocorreu decréscimo e as massas d?águas nos dois primeiros anos investigados mostraram aumento de área, mas não houve avanço no ano de 2011. O ITA da bacia apresentou duas classificações: 1991 e 2011 Regular e em 2011 Degradada, resultados que podem ser devido a pastagem e ao cultivo em larga escala da cana-de-açúcar.

Background Nintedanib (formerly known as BIBF 1120) is an intracellular inhibitor that targets multiple tyrosine kinases. A phase 2 trial suggested that treatment with 150 mg of nintedanib twice daily reduced lung-function decline and acute exacerbations in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Methods We conducted two replicate 52-week, randomized, double-blind, phase 3 trials (INPULSIS-1 and INPULSIS-2) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 150 mg of nintedanib twice daily as compared with placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The primary end point was the annual rate of decline in forced vital capacity (FVC). Key secondary end points were the time to the first acute exacerbation and the change from baseline in the total score on the St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaire, both assessed over a 52-week period. Results A total of 1066 patients were randomly assigned in a 3:2 ratio to receive nintedanib or placebo. Resumo: O objetivo deste artigo é caracterizar o meio físico da Unidade de Planejamento e Gestão (UPG) do rio Amambaí e analisar a cobertura vegetal e uso da terra do ano de 2007. Foram utilizados dados secundários para a caracterização física além do mapeamento da cobertura vegetal e uso da terra efetuado no projeto GeoMS. A altitude varia de 187 a 688 metros e a geologia, a geomorfologia e o solo são diversificados. A vegetação natural ocorre em apenas 19% da UPG e predomina a vegetação ciliar (protegida por lei), ao longo dos flúvios. A área antrópica ocorre em 80% da UPG, com pastagem plantada (pecuária) e agricultura anual ocupado 91% desta área. Conclui-se que desmatamento está além do permitido pela legislação atual, portanto sugere-se que o Governo adote medidas para reverter o atual quadro de degradação ambiental na região.

Na introdução os autores procedem a uma revisão histórica e conceptual dos instrumentos psicométricos que têm como objectivo a avaliação do risco de suicídio em indivíduos que apenas verbalizam ideação suicida. Nas secções seguintes é apresentado todo o processo de desenvolvimento do IRIS (Índice de Risco de Suicídio) - um novo índice com o mesmo objectivo de avaliação mas construído utilizando metodologias que proporcionam avanços qualitativos em relação aos índices existentes, bem como uma melhor adequação a contingências e características da realidade portuguesa. The introduction contains a historical and conceptual review of psychometric tools that aim at assessing the risk of suicide in individuals presenting suicidal ideation. In the following sections the whole process of development of IRIS (“Índice de Risco de Suicídio” – Suicide Risk Index) is presented - a new tool with the same objective but built using methods that provide qualitative advances over existing indexes, while better accounting for the contingencies and characteristics of the Portuguese reality.

Rationale: Clinical trial design in interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) has been hampered by lack of consensus on appropriate outcome measures for reliably assessing treatment response. In the setting of connective tissue diseases (CTDs), some measures of ILD disease activity and severity may be confounded by non-pulmonary comorbidities. Methods: The Connective Tissue Disease associated Interstitial Lung Disease (CTD-ILD) working group of Outcome Measures in Rheumatology-a non-profit international organisation dedicated to consensus methodology in identification of outcome measures-conducted a series of investigations which included a Delphi process including >248 ILD medical experts as well as patient focus groups culminating in a nominal group panel of ILD experts and patients. The goal was to define and develop a consensus on the status of outcome measure candidates for use in randomised controlled trials in CTD-ILD and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Results: A core set comprising specific measures in the domains of lung physiology, lung imaging, survival, dyspnoea, cough and health-related quality of life is proposed as appropriate for consideration for use in a hypothetical 1-year multicentre clinical trial for either CTD-ILD or IPF. As many widely used instruments were found to lack full validation, an agenda for future research is proposed. Conclusion: Identification of consensus preliminary domains and instruments to measure them was attained and is a major advance anticipated to facilitate multicentre RCTs in the field.
