Aims: In this paper we propose the first syntaxonomic classification for the mesophilous scrub vegetation in Tajikistan with some remarks on their environmental variability. Methods: Altogether 120 relevés were sampled using the standard, seven-degree cover-abundance scale of Braun-Blanquet, in 2015–2021. They were classified by the modified TWINSPAN method using the four step interval scale with cutoff levels of 0%, 2%, 5% and 10% and total inertia as a measure of cluster heterogeneity. Diagnostic species were identified using the phi coefficient as a fidelity measure. Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) was used to determine the relationship between the sampled plots, vegetation units and major gradients in species composition. Results: Plant communities known so far as šhiblyak and including xeric and mesophilic shrublands seral or marginal to broad-leaved forests in the nemoral zone of the Irano-Turanian region are described herein. Numerical analyses of vegetation data allowed distinguishing five associations representing the Ranunculo tenuilobi-Cotoneasterion hissarici alliance. The new associations include: Eremuro comosi-Rhuidetum coriariae, Calophacetum grandiflorae, Fraxinetum raibocarpae, Pruno sogdianae-Crataegetum turkestanicae, Aflatunio ulmifoliae-Caraganetum turkestanicae. For the latter association, two habitat variants (with Ferula clematidifolia and Malus sieversii) are proposed. The main factors determining the species composition of the studied vegetation include: elevation, mean annual temperature and sum of annual precipitation. Conclusions: The research results herein presented fill the gap in knowledge about the shrubland vegetation of Tajikistan. Studies in neighbouring countries and a focus on subalpine scrubs in dry habitats are needed to complete the classification of shrubland vegetation of Middle Asia.

New floristic zoning of Central Asia is demonstrated briefly consuming the original map. Essential features of floras’ composition and similarity, their endemism level, peculiarities of floristic complexes and florocenotypes and furthermore the analysis of taxa included to the flora determine the zoning. Some particularities of large regions of Central Asia are described briefly., В тезисной форме и на оригинальной карте продемонстрировано новое флористическое районирование Средней Азии, в основу которого положены важные признаки состава и общности флор, их эндемизма, особенностей флористических комплексов и флороценотипов, а также анализ ареалов входящих во флору таксонов. Кратко рассмотрены черты флоры отдельных выделенных крупных регионов Средней Азии.

A new species, Allium sunhangiisp. nov., of the Middle Asiatic section Brevidentia F.O.Khass. & Iengal., (subgenus Allium, tribe Allioideae, Amaryllidaceae) is described. The species is a small plant from the Babatag Ridge in the Surkhandarya province of Uzbekistan. It is morphologically close to Allium brevidens Vved. in having initially dark violet filaments and three-cuspidate inner filaments, but differs by its small size and visibly unequal tepals as well as in the phylogenetic analysis based on ITS data.

We validate eleven syntaxa (eight associations and three alliances) of tall-forb vegetation that were published earlier as nomina provisoria according to the International Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature. The validation concerns syntaxa of tall-forb vegetation of the class Prangetea ulopterae Klein 1987 reported from Pamir-Alai and western Tian Shan Mountains (Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan). Taxonomic reference: Cherepanov (1995). Abbreviations: ICPN = International Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature.

The Palaearctic genus Mannerheimia Mäklin, 1880 (Anthophagini) is redescribed. The taxonomic and faunistic data for ten species, including (re-)descriptions of M. arctica (Erichson, 1840), M. asiatica Kastcheev, 1999, M. brevipennis (Motschulsky, 1860), M. pleshanovi sp.n. (Russia: East Siberia, Khamar-Daban Mts.) and M. zanettii sp.n. (Pakistan: Hazara Kaghan Valley) are provided. These species, and M. afghanica Coiffait, 1982, M. japonica Watanabe, 1990, M. obscura Coiffait, 1982, and M. yasudai Watanabe, 1990 are illustrated. A new synonymy is established: M. brevipennis (Motschulsky, 1860) = M. micros (Fauvel, 1900) syn.n. The checklist and a key to the described 23 species of Mannerheimia are provided. The distributions of seven species are mapped: M. arctica, M. asiatica, M. brevipennis, M. obscura, M. pleshanovi sp. n. and M. zanettii. Several species are recorded for the first time from certain regions: M. arctica from Yamalo-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi and Taymyr autonomous regions, Evenkia and Tuva, M. brevipennis from Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi autonomous regions, Kemerovo Area, Evenkia, Khakassia and Tuva, M. obscura from Pakistan, and M. yasudai from Sakhalin Island.

The article describes several topics of joint Russian-Tajik research conducted since 2013 in the Khatlon velayat of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the N. N. Miklukho-Maklay Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of Russian Academy of Sciences and the A. Donish Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. Th e text includes several interconnected blocks: archaeological excavations, ethnoecological study of the subsistence systems of the modern and medieval populations, and collection and analysis of human remains. Th e article gives brief information about the archaeological excavations of the Shakhidon burial ground of the 7th–8th centuries (Baljuvan jamoat), anthropological characteristics of the population buried in it and information about the economy of the population of the dekh Shaidon, where the site is located, as well as materials on other regions of the Republic., В статье описывается несколько направлений совместных российско-таджикских исследований, проводимых начиная с 2013 г. в Хатлонском вилояте Республики Таджикистан в рамках Меморандума о сотрудничестве между Институтом этнологии и антропологии им. Н. Н. Миклухо-Маклая РАН и Институтом истории, археологии и этнографии им. А. Дониша Национальной академии наук Таджикистана. Текст включает несколько взаимосвязанных блоков: археологические раскопки, этноэкологическое изучение систем жизнеобеспечения современного и средневекового населения и сбор и анализ палеоантропологических данных. Приведена краткая информация о раскопках могильника VII–VIII вв. Шахидон (Балджуванский джамоат), антропологическая характеристика населения, захороненного в нем, и сведения о хозяйстве населения деха Шайдон, где памятник расположен, а также сравнительные материалы по другим районам республики.

Using microsatellite markers, the genetic diversity, family ties, and genetic drift were studied in three breeds and seven populations of wool (fleece-bearing) goats of Central and Middle Asia. The parameters of allelic and genetic diversity of indigenous populations of Mongolian goats (Gurvan Egch, Darkhat, Burakh Zavkhan, Ulgiy Uulan, Altai Uulan), two populations of local Tuvan goats, Soviet and Tajik wool breeds of goat, and Orenburg fleece-bearing goat were obtained. Using a principal component analysis, two main groups of goats were detected, in one of which mainly Mongolian native populations are united, while in the other are Middle Asian breeds of goats. The populations of Tuvan local goat were divided between the appropriate groups. At the same time, Mongolian goats were characterized by a high intrapopulation diversity and a fairly low level of genetic differences between the populations. Data obtained indicate the existence of a correlation of genetic relations between the considered populations and breeds of fleece-bearing goats and their geographical distribution.

Aim. The study of the genus Melanotus from the collection of the Institute of Zoology of the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia taking into account new taxonomic and chorological data.Material and Methods. Scientific material was identified after desktop processing and preparation of genitalia according to current data on the genus Melanotus.Results and Conclusion. We determined 21 species of the genus Melanotus in the collection from Europe, the Caucasus and Middle Asia, 12 species being recorded from the territory of Armenia. The collection of the genus Мelanotus in the Institute of Zoology includes species endemic to Armenia (M. gedeoni Mardjanyan, 2015, M. platiai Mardjanyan, 2015, M. khnzoriani Mardjanyan, 2015), to Tajikistan (M. fragilloides Dolin, 1988, M. vidualis Gurjeva, 1988) and to Iran (M. dichroides Platia & Gudenzi, 1999, M. richterae Mardjanyan, 2015). Three species, M. castanipes Paykull, 1800, M. fulvus Reitter, 1891 and M. sladkovi Dolin & Atamuradov, 1986 are recorded for the first time for Armenia. M. rustamovi Dolin & Atamuradov, 1987 is the first record for Tajikistan and M. persimilis Dolin & Latifi, 1988 for Turkmenistan.

In this paper, we complete the syntaxonomical scheme for halophytic vegetation and adjoining plant communities of the lowland, montane and alpine zones in the Pamir-Alai and western Tian Shan in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with some remarks on its environmental predictors. A total of 217 relevés were sampled in 2014–2019 using the seven-degree cover-abundance scale of the Braun-Blanquet approach. Modified TWlNSPAN was used to classify plant communities based on species composition. The cover-abundance scale was transformed using the four-step interval scale with cut-off levels at 0%, 5% and 25%. Diagnostic species were identified using the phi coefficient as a fidelity measure. Non-metric Multidimensional Scaling (NMDS) was used to explore the relationships between the distin- guished groups. A total of five halophytic or subhalophytic grasslands, five halophytic thermophilous scrub communities, three hypersaline alluvial temporary flooded swards, and one riparian scrub com-munity were distinguished in the study area, grouped in four orders. Four plant communities have been established as new associations: Knorringietum sibiricae, Puccinellietum pamiricae, Carici physodis- Zygophylletum gontscharovii and Zygophylletum ferganensis. The Taraxacion murgabici is described as new alliance of high-altitude halophytic vegetation in arid environments. The hypersaline alluvial temporary flooded swards were included in a new order – the Psylliostachyetalia spicato-leptostachyae. The main factors differentiating the species composition of the researched vegetation seem to be: the share and number of annual vs. perennial species, coverage of shrub layer, number and share of Irano-Turanian plants, mean annual temperature, and altitudinal position. This is the first time we have initi- ated research on halophytic vegetation in Middle Asia. However, further geobotanical studies in this part of the world are needed, because the syntaxonomical position of some of the distinguished communities still remains vague.

Aims: To complete the syntaxonomic scheme for tall-forb vegetation of the montane and alpine belts in the Pamir-Alai and western Tian Shan Mountains in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with some remarks on its environmental predictors. Study area: Middle Asia: Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Methods: A total of 244 relevés were sampled in 2013–2019 using the seven-degree cover-abundance scale of the Braun-Blanquet approach. These were classified with a modified TWINSPAN algorithm with pseudospecies cut-levels 0%, 5% and 25%, and total inertia as a measure of cluster heterogeneity. Diagnostic species were identified using the phi coefficient as a fidelity measure. NMDS was used to explore the relationships between the distinguished groups. Results: Our classification revealed 19 clusters of tall-forb vegetation in Middle Asia. Among others we found forb communities typical for Tian Shan, western Pamir-Alai, forb-scree vegetation of Pamir-Alai, dry tall-forbs and typical forbs of the alpine belt. A total of eight new tall-forb associations and five communities were distinguished. The forb vegetation of Middle Asia has been assigned to the class Prangetea ulopterae Klein. The main factors differentiating the species composition of the researched vegetation are elevation, mean annual temperature, sum of annual precipitation and inclination of the slope. Conclusions: The paper presents the first insight into the comprehensive classification of the alpine forb vegetation in Middle Asia and fosters progress in explaining the relationship of boreo-temperate and Mediterranean-like (Irano-Turanian) vegetation in western Asian and central Asian subregions of the Irano-Turanian phytogeographical region. This article presents the results of comparative study of leaf structure in species Komarovia anisosperma,Sphaerosciadium denaense, Kamelinia tianschanica, Korshinskya olgae и Autumnalia innopinata of the Apiaceae Lindlfamily. For the studied species, a close relationship between the anatomical structure of the leaf and environmental conditions has been revealed. The diagnostic leaf-blade features are: for Komarovia anisosperma, single layer of the palisadeparenchyma with tightly closed or in places loosely located rather elongated cells and the presence of 3 secretory ducts onthe abaxial side (under the central and marginal lateral vascular bundles); for Sphaerosciadium denaense, marginal partswrapped to adaxial side, 2(3) secretory ducts above the main bundle at the abaxial side, one larger at the adaxial side,above and below lateral bundles they locate one by one, and a single duct at the adaxial part of the leaf top; for Kamelinia tianschanica, two and above the central bundle three-layer palisades and the presence of a single secretory duct underthe central bundle; Korshinskya olgae, two-layer palisade and the presence on the abaxial side of 3 (4) secretory ducts (1or 2 large under the central and median lateral vascular bundles); Autumnalia innopinata, isopalisade mesophyll and thepresence of a 2–3-layer aquifer parenchyma.

This article focuses on the phenomenon of Korean diaspora in Kazakhstan – a unique phenomenon in the diaspora studies. Having a racial-anthropological homogeneity with the inhabitants of Korean Peninsula, the Koreans of Kazakhstan have lost multiple ethnic traits: native language, anthroponymy, blood relationships on their historical homeland. Despite this fact, the representatives of Korean ethnos identify themselves as part of the ancient Korean culture, honor their native traditions, and state their nationality as “Korean” in the population census. An important role in conveyance of culture and spiritual values of the diaspora is played by public organizations. The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Association of the Koreans of Kazakhstan, State Republican Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy, and Korean House are the anchors that support the diaspora and contribute to preservation of historical belonging and self-consciousness. Methodological framework is comprised of historiographical analysis of the works of Korean studies scholars dedicated to the history of Korean diaspora in Central Asia, monitoring of the legislative framework of Kazakhstan and news agenda, interviews of individual representatives of the diaspora. The conducted research proves that diasporality is a more vital form of preservation of ethnocultural identity than the ethnic attribution by linguistic or anthropological principle. Living far from their historical homeland for centuries, the representatives of Koryo-Saram continue identifying themselves as Koreans. They have gone through the key stages of assimilation, integrated into the system of social relations, and consider themselves Kazakhs of Korean descent. As long as the indicated ethnocultural group acknowledges its uniqueness and difference from other ethnic groups of Kazakhstan, the diasporic self-consciousness, Korean diaspora and its institutions would exists.

This article presents a new checklist of Scrophularia in Uzbekistan. The synopsis includes 21 species; one of them is national endemic, and seven species were newly recorded for Uzbekistan as a result of field collecting missions, studies, and examination of Tashkent (TASH), St.-Petersburg (LE), Almaty (AA), and Moscow (MW) herbarium collections. The geographical distribution of Scrophularia in Uzbekistan was mapped and analyzed. The identification key, a table of comparative diagnostic characters, nomenclatural types, and ecological data are provided. The subject of the work is the relationship between Russia and Turkmenistan during the existence of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The purpose of the work is to undertake a comprehensive study of the history of establishing relations between Russia and Central Asian Turkestan, with a special emphasis on the times of the existence of the USSR, on the basis of existing scientific works and factual material. In accordance with the goal, the following tasks are defined: – To study the history of the formation of Turkmenistan; – Determine the role of Turkmenistan in the first half of the 20th century; – Describe the emergence of the Turkmen SSR and the relationship between Turkmenistan and Russia; – Describe the relationship between Turkmenistan and Russia in different periods of time. Methodology: in the course of studying this topic, a systematic approach, analysis, generalization, idealization, description, comparison was used. As well as historical methods such as establishing the chronology of events and their relationship. The conclusions made in the thesis: Due to the fact that this problem has been studied for many years and is still being studied, it has a fairly high degree of development of the problem, but it requires further study.

Mountain areas are very often considered to be biodiversity hotspots. Rocks are one of the most unique habitats and serve as a suitable biotope for many endemic and specialized plant species. Here we present the results of the vegetation studies conducted in central and eastern Pamir-Alai and the south-western Tian Shan mountains in 2013‒2019. Based on 334 phytosociological relevés we propose a synopsis of the rock communities of the montane and colline zones of eastern Middle Asia. As a result of our research, we distinguish 17 communities defined into five groups of petrophytic vegetation within the Caricion koshewnikowii alliance. We describe 11 new associations: Feruletum bucharicae, Scrophularietum glabellae, Asperulo albiflorae–Kafirniganietum hissaricae, Scutellarietum immaculatae, Campanuletum eugeniae, Silenetum kuschakewiczii, Rosularietum platyphyllae, Spireaetum pilosae, Silenetum lithophilae, Campanuletum albertii, and Rhinactinidietum limoniifoliae. Distinctiveness of environmental conditions together with the species composition of the phytocoenoses within the montane and colline belts of eastern Middle and Central Asia make the investigated vegetation among those with the highest specific diversity and richness of endemisms in the whole area. The main factors that determine the species composition of the investigated vegetation seem to be phytogeography, altitude, bedrock type, and exposition. Alliumsunhangii, sp. nov., of the Middle Asiatic section Brevidentia F.O. Khass. & Iengal., (subgenus Allium, tribe Allioideae, Amaryllidaceae) is a small species from the Babatag area in the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan. The genus Hissarica Viidalepp (Geometridae, Geometrinae) is restored from synonymy with Xenochlorodes Warren. The moths and their male and female genitalia are illustrated and characterized in comparison with those of Hierochthonia Prout and Xenochlorodes. Taxonomic positions of “Hierochthonia” alexandraria Prout and Eucrostes petitaria Christoph are discussed and the new genus Ratsa Viidalepp & Kostjuk gen. nov. is established for them, creating the new combinations Ratsa alexandraria Prout and Ratsa petitaria Christoph.

This paper sheds the first light on the phylogeny of the Central Asian genus Turanium Baeckmann, 1922. By applying an integrative taxonomy approach, we revealed and described a new species from Kyrgyzstan—Turanium losi Karpiński, Plewa & Hilszczański sp. nov. Distinguishing characters from closely related Turanium pilosum (Reitter, 1891) are presented and their ecological associations are discussed. The key characters, including the male terminalia, were examined by means of scanning electron microscopy. High-quality stacked photographs of the habitus of the specimens are presented for both species and their geographical distributions are mapped. While the new species shows stable morphological characters that allow its differentiation from T. pilosum and the COI genetic distance between them is approx. 3%, the different species delimitation methods gave discordant results. Although the new species remained unrecognized for so long, it seems that these cerambycids are common in the region and both can be considered potentially invasive as they are apparently highly polyphagous. It has also been documented that they occur sympatrically in Kyrgyzstan. Both the Bayesian and maximum likelihood analyses of COI sequences confirmed the monophyly of the genus Turanium with strong support (PP 1 and BS 90, respectively). Moreover, the recently revealed polyphyly of the tribe Callidiini was supported by our analyses and, consequently, the discussion on the establishment of a new tribe Ropalopini is raised. This study further corroborates the effectiveness of DNA barcoding as a tool in detecting new species and provides some of the first sequences for Central Asian cerambycids, which remain almost completely unknown in terms of molecular studies.

The aim of our study was to complete the syntaxonomical scheme for grassland vegetation of the lowland, montane and alpine zones in the Pamir-Alai and western Tian Shan Mts in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with some remarks on its environmental predictors. A total of 198 relevés were sampled in 2013–2018 using the seven-degree cover-abundance scale of the Braun-Blanquet approach. They were classified with k-means algorithm with tranforming cover values to three level scale of the following intervals 0%, 5% and 25% and total inertia as a measure of cluster heterogeneity. Diagnostic species were identified using the phi coefficient as a fidelity measure. Non-metric Multidimensional Scaling (NMDS) was used to explore the relationships between the distinguished groups. A total of 7 pseudosteppe, three typical steppe and three meadow communities were distinguished in the study area, grouped in four orders. Seven of them are established as new associations: Brayo pamiricae-Stipetum glareosae, Eremuretum bucharici, Hordeo bulbosi-Astragaletum retamocarpi, Potentillo orientalis-Eremuretum fusci, Achnathero caraganae-Delphinietum semibarbati, Eremuro tianschanici-Delphinietum biternati and Cryptosporo falcatae-Brachypodietum distachyi. The pseudosteppes were included in a new alliance – the Vulpio persicae-Caricion pachystylidis. The meadows have been divided into three communities: Ligularia alpigena-Euphorbia alatavica comm., Euphorbia lamprocarpa comm. and Carum carvi-Hordeum turkestanicum comm. The main factors differentiating the species composition of the researched vegetation are altitude, share of annual vs. perennial species, proportion of Euro-Siberian to Irano-Turanian plants and latitudinal position. We have completed the vegetation survey of the dry and mesic grasslands in the middle and western part of Middle Asia and have fostered the progress in finding the borderland between the boreo-temperate and mediterranean-like (Irano-Turanian) grasslands of the western Asian and central Asian subregions of the Irano-Turanian region.

A review of the tenebrionid genus Podhomala Solier, 1836 is given. In total, eight species from Kazakhstan and Middle Asia are listed: P. (s. str.) lucidula (Krynicki, 1832), P. The following synonymy is established: Podhomala Solier, 1836 = Uriela Reitter, 1887, syn. n., = Pterocomodes Reitter, 1901, syn. n.;Podhomala (s. str.) lucidula Krynicki, 1832 = P. (s. str.) suturalis Solier, 1836, syn. resurr. A key to species, images, review of morphological adaptations, and distribution map of the genus Podhomala are given.

New localities and data on distribution of darkling beetles of the tribe Helopini are presented. In total, 46 species from 12 genera (Adelphinus Fairmaire et Coquerel, 1866, Catomus Allard, 1876, Euboeus Boieldieu, 1865 (Pelorinus Vauloger, 1900), Helops Fabricius, 1775, Raiboscelis Allard, 1876, Entomogonus Solier, 1848, Hedyphanes Fischer von Waldheim, 1820, Nalassus Mulsant, 1854, Eustenomacidius Nabozhenko, 2006, Zophohelops Reitter, 1902, Cylindrinotus Faldermann, 1837, Odocnemis Allard, 1876) are reviewed. A brief review of taxonomic works for each genus is given. The following new taxa are described: Adelphinus (s. str.) baehri sp. n. from Morocco (differs from all congeners by the presence of erect black spine-like setae on elytra), Euboeus (Pelorinus) kopetzi sp. n. from Western Turkey (belongs to the obesus species-group, differs from all similar species with wrinkled prohypomera by the dorsally dark-blue body, and the structure of the aedeagus), Zophohelops (s. str.) staveni sp. n. from Eastern Turkey (similar to Z. montanatolicus Nabozhenko et Keskin, 2014, from which it differs by the coarsely and densely puncturated pronotum, coarsely wrinkled prohypomera with sparse punctures, absence of hair brush at middle of male abdominal ventrite 1 and not beaded abdominal ventrite 5). The following new combination is proposed: Euboeus (Pelorinus) globicollis (Seidlitz, 1896), comb. n. (transferred from Probaticus Seidlitz, 1896). Hedyphanes koltzei Heyden, 1892 is recorded for Kazakhstan for the first time. The distribution of Entomogonus saphyrinus (Allard, 1876) and Entomogonus duchoni Reitter, 1903 is corrected, both species occur only in Turkey. The species Catomus fulvipes (Reiche et Saulcy, 1857) is distributed in Syria and Israel, but not in Turkey

The Iranian plateau has been the place of many tribes and nations who lived adjacent to each other over centuries. Iranian tribes settled in Iran almost at the beginning of the first millennium BC and put their name on it. In the 7th-8th centuries BC, one of Iranian tribes called Maday established Ma’ad government in the northwest of Iran. Then another Persian tribe called Parseh established the Achaemenid Empire in the southwest of Iran that embraced the entire Iranian plateau, Asia Minor, and a part of middle Asia. In recent historical periods, non-Iranian tribes entered this territory and continued to live alongside Iranians. Armenians are among these tribes which were mentioned for the first time in the Achamaenid Cossacks. This tribe has always had a spiritual and material relationship with Persia. The existence of Armenian Churches in various parts of Iran such as different churcheds in Tehran, Isfahan, Qara church, the church of Holy Stefanos in Jolfa Aras (9th century AD), the Holy Mosropol Church in northern Iran are signs of the presence of Armenians in this territory.

The archaeomagnetic studies conducted at the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPE RAS) have made a significant contribution to the international studies of the main magnetic field of the Earth for the past few thousand years. These studies have yielded extensive data on the intensity of the geomagnetic field in the past 8000 years. Four of the most representative and long time series of the data have been constructed for Eurasia: for the Iberian Peninsula, the Caucasus, Middle Asia, and Siberia. Unique studies of rapid variations of the geomagnetic field intensity (with the characteristic times starting from several tens of years) have been carried out which have no analogues in international research. The analysis of the international data on the ancient geomagnetic field made it possible to obtain a spectrum of the variations of the geomagnetic field intensity in the range from decades to millennia and to determine the characteristics of the variations whose superposition can describe the pattern of the changes of the geomagnetic field intensity. It was established that variations with different characteristic times have differently directed the drift and the “main oscillation” (with a characteristic time of 8000 years) has an eastern drift.

Приводится краткий очерк истории Института ботаники и перечень важнейших публикаций за 80 лет (1940–2020 гг.)., The article is devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the 130th anniversary of one of its founders and leaders, prominent botanist and academician Yevgeniy Petrovich Korovin. A brief essay of the history of the Institute of Botany and a list of the most important publications for 80 years (1940–2020) are given.
