Rainfall, especially local concentrated heavy rainfall, is one of the major factors triggering sudden geological hazards such as landslides and debris flow. According to historical disaster statistics in China, locally short-term concentrated heavy rainfall is the primary triggering factor for debris flows, accounting for approximately 70% of the total number of landslides. Recent alterations in seasonal rainfall patterns, with accelerated spring floods and plum rain in southern China, as well as delayed autumn rain in the northern regions, have led to an increase in geological disasters, expanded risk-prone areas, and prolonged risk management periods. Therefore, conducting rainfall monitoring is of great significance for landslides and debris flow early warning and prediction. To ensure precise early warnings and predictions, the accuracy, sensitivity, stability, and scientifically grounded installation of rainfall monitoring equipment are prerequisites. This study, comparing two types of rain gauges-- tipping bucket and piezoelectric—in terms of measurement principles, technical specifications, installation methods, and operational maintenance, conducted both indoor simulated rainfall experiments and field tests within complex scenes. The results reveal that the piezoelectric rain gauge maintains an error range within 4%. These findings highlight that in the context of complex geological hazard monitoring scenarios, the piezoelectric rain gauge proves more suitable than the tipping bucket rain gauge, regardless of measurement range, accuracy, installation, or post-installation maintenance considerations

Research was conducted to examine the influence of lattice stress relaxation on the microstructures of epitaxial thin films through domain structure investigations of epitaxial SrRuO3 thin films developed on vicinal (001) SrTiO3 substrates using transmission electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction. Results indicate that the lattice strain relaxation has a crucial effect on the microstructures and characteristics of epitaxial thin films when the substrate material is taken.

Abstract Background Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age that still lacks effective treatment. Inflammation is one of the important features of PCOS. Asparagus (ASP) has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-aging pharmacological effects, and its anti-tumor effects have been demonstrated in a variety of tumors. However, the role and mechanism of ASP in PCOS remain unclear. Methods The active components of ASP and the key therapeutic targets for PCOS were obtained by network pharmacology. Molecular docking was used to simulate the binding of PRKCA to the active components of ASP. The effects of ASP on inflammatory and oxidative stress pathways in PCOS, and the regulation of PRKCA were examined by KGN, a human derived granulosa cell line. PCOS mouse model validated the results of in vivo experiments. Results Network pharmacology identified 9 major active ingredients of ASP with 73 therapeutic targets for PCOS. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment yielded 101 PCOS-related signaling pathways. The hub gene PRKCA was obtained after taking the gene intersection of the top 4 pathways. Molecular docking showed the binding of PRKCA to the 7 active components in ASP. In vitro and in vivo experiments showed that ASP alleviated the course of PCOS through antioxidant, anti-inflammatory effects. ASP can partially restore the low expression of PRKCA in the PCOS models. Conclusion The therapeutic effect of ASP on PCOS is mainly achieved by targeting PRKCA through the 7 active components of ASP. Mechanistically, ASP alleviated the course of PCOS through antioxidant, anti-inflammatory effects, and PRKCA was its potential target.

The cardiac output varies in rats after the introduction of cocaine in the blood stream, despite identical heart rates and arterial pressures in all the rats. Cocaine or tension causes a reduction in the cardiac output, which causes death attributed to natural or surgical stress. The rats accept the stimulant under possible stressful conditions which influence the effects of cocaine on the cardiovascular system. Cocaine is resisted by anesthesia in most cases. Cocaine influences the cardiovascular system, while it is controlled by the central nervous system.

The social division of labor within the honeybee colony is closely related to the age of the bees, and the age structure is essential to the development and survival of the colony. Differences in tolerance to pesticides and other external stresses among worker bees of different ages may be related to their social division of labor and corresponding physiological states. Pyraclostrobin was widely used to control the fungal diseases of nectar and pollen plants, though it was not friend to honey bees and other pollinators. This work aimed to determine the effects of field recommended concentrations of pyraclostrobin on the activities of protective and detoxifying enzymes, on the expression of genes involved in nutrient metabolism, and immune response in worker bees of different ages determined to investigate the physiological and biochemical differences in sensitivity to pyraclostrobin among different age of worker bees. The result demonstrates that the tolerance of adult worker bees to pyraclostrobin was negatively correlated with their age, and the significantly reduced survival rate of forager bees (21 day-old) with continued fungicide exposure. The activities of protective enzymes (CAT and SOD) and detoxifying enzymes (CarE, GSTs and CYP450) in different ages of adult worker bees were significantly altered, indicating the physiological response and the regulatory capacity of worker bees of different ages to fungicide stress was variation. Compared with 1 and 8 day-old worker bees, the expression of nutrient-related genes (ilp1 and ilp2) and immunity-related genes (apidaecin and defensin1) in forager bees (21 day-old) was gradually downregulated with increasing pyraclostrobin concentrations. Moreover, the expression of vitellogenin and hymenoptaecin in forager bees (21 day-old) was also decreased in high concentration treatment groups (250 and 313 mg/L). The present study confirmed the findings of the chronic toxicity of pyraclostrobin on the physiology and biochemistry of worker bees of different ages, especially to forager bees (21 day-old). These results would provide important physiological and biochemical insight for better understanding the potential risks of pyraclostrobin on honeybees and other non-target pollinators.

The identification and analysis of the deposit slope stability is the focus of geological disaster prevention and control. Taking dense-fine grained slopes and loose gravel slopes as examples, a series of flume tests under rainfall infiltration were carried out. The effects of density, material composition, slope angle and vegetation coverage on slope stability and rainfall threshold were systematically analyzed. The results show that under rainfall infiltration, the dense-fine grained slope with uniform material composition and high density was more stable, resulting in a higher rainfall threshold and a lower catastrophability. The slope with non-uniformmaterial composition and loose gravel was more likely to fail than the slope with dense fine particles. The influence of the stone content on the stability of the slope is greater than that of the slope gradient. The critical rainfall of landslides increases first and then decreases with an increasing vegetation coverage; that is, when rainfall infiltration causes the slope soil to be supersaturated, the higher vegetation coverage will trigger the whole deformation of slope and vegetation due to the strong development of vegetation roots, which increases the catastrophability of the slope.The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the instability mechanism and stability evaluation of deposit slopes.

Online oil chromatography monitoring devices can be used for early warning of abnormalities in large oil-filled equipment. Therefore， they are now widely used in 110 kV and above transformers. Through principle analysis， test investigation， and simulation reproduction of the transformer body and the oil chromatography monitoring device in a light gas alarm of a 500 kV transformer， the reason of the defect is cleared up： the online oil chromatography monitoring device generates bubbles in the process of oil circulation due to a program error. The air is continuously injected into the transformer body during long-term operation and overflows to the gas relay when the oil is saturated， eventually leading to a light gas alarm. The causes of such defects are thoroughly analyzed， and corresponding suggestions on operation and maintenance are offered： the manufacturer of the online oil chromatography monitoring device should design a logic blocking to ensure that no abnormal gas generates； the operation and maintenance department should step up admittance testing， device calibration and regularly test the content of the air in the oil.

This paper presents a complex valued radial basis function (RBF) network for equalization of fast time varying channels. A new method for calculating the centers of the RBF network is given. The method allows fixing the number of RBF centers even as the equalizer order is increased so that a good performance is obtained by a high-order RBF equalizer with small number of centers. Simulations are performed on time varying channels using a Rayleigh fading channel model to compare the performance of our RBF with an adaptive maximum-likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE) consisting of a channel estimator and a MLSE implemented by the Viterbi algorithm. The results show that the RBF equalizer produces superior performance with less computational complexity. Index Terms - Channel equalization, RBF networks.

The effects of epitaxial strain on magnetic anisotropy were studied, particularly the observed uniaxial anisotropy of single domain epitaxial SrRuO3 (110) films grown on (001) SrTiO3 substrates. Structural analysis indicated that the epitaxial strain in the film has further distorted the lattice structure of SrRuO3 from orthorhombic to triclinic. This led to a shortening of lattice along (100) and lengthening along (010).

Fructose was popularly used in diet due to its high sweetness and low impact on blood sugar levels. High fructose diets are common in Western countries. With economic development, the per capita fructose intake in China has been increasing year by year, and the relationship between fructose and health has become a research hotspot. The absorption and metabolism of fructose in vivo can activate multiple signaling pathways including PI3K/Akt, NF- κ B, JAK-STAT, AMPK, MAPK and toll like receptors etc., which could down or up regulate the level of downstream signaling molecules, and cause the occurrence of metabolic syndrome such as obesity and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. The absorption and metabolism molecular signal pathways involved in fructose induced metabolic syndrome were summarized and reviewed in this paper, which could provide reference for the rational consumption and further research of biological effects of fructose.

SrRu0(sub3) is an itinerant ferromagnet, having a Curie temperature of around 160 K in the bulk material. Single crystal epitaxial SrRu0(sub3) thin films were grown on miscut SrTi0(sub3) substrates to study intrinsic anisotropic materials behaviour. The films grow by two-dimensional nucleation and step flow when the miscut angle is small, but complete step flow growth occurs when the miscut angle is increased, leading to single domain thin films.

Myeloid RNA regulator of Bim-induced death (Morrbid) is a newly identified leukocyte-specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA). However, the expression and biological functions of Morrbid in cardiomyocytes and heart disease are currently unclear. This study was meant to determine the role of cardiac Morrbid in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and to identify the potential cellular and molecular mechanisms involved. We found that both human and mouse cardiomyocytes could express a significant amount of Morrbid and that its expression was increased in cardiomyocytes with hypoxia or oxidative stress as well as in mouse hearts with AMI. Overexpression of Morrbid reduced the myocardial infarct size and cardiac dysfunction, whereas the infarct size and cardiac dysfunction deteriorated in cardiomyocyte-specific Morrbid-KO (Morrbidfl/fl/Myh6-Cre) mice. We identified that Morrbid had a protective effect against hypoxia- or H2O2-induced apoptosis; this was also confirmed in vivo in mouse hearts after AMI. We further discovered that serpine1 was a direct target gene of Morrbid that was involved in the Morrbid-mediated protective effect on cardiomyocytes. In summary, we have found, for the first time to our knowledge, that the cardiac Morrbid is a stress-enhanced lncRNA that protects hearts from AMI via antiapoptosis through its target gene serpine1. Morrbid may be a novel promising therapeutic target for ischemic heart diseases such as AMI.

BackgroundDue to the specific imaging structure of neutron imaging system, the geometric unsharpness is unavoidable in neutron photographic images after imaging.PurposeThis study aims to design a geometric unsharpness correction method for neutron photographic image based on improved Richardson–Lucy (RL) algorithm.MethodsFirst, according to the geometric unsharpness of the neutron photographic image, the mathematical model of the point spread function (PSF) was established. Then, the Laplace operator and median filter were used to remove the PSF related gamma spots noise (GSN) in the image, and the neutron photographic image was restored by RL algorithm. Finally, the restoration quality of neutron photographic images of the line-pair sample was evaluated using average gradient (AG) and spatial frequency (SF).ResultsThe results of the line-pair sample demonstrate that compared with four existing correction algorithms of geometric unsharpness, the proposed method improves AG and SF by 60.23% and 29.90%, respectively.ConclusionsThe proposed method of this study can effectively correct the geometric unsharpness caused by the amplification of gamma spots noise in the process of neutron photographic image restoration, providing an important technical support for performing high-resolution neutron radiography.

Abstract Micelle Encapsulation Zinc‐doped copper oxide nanocomposites (MEnZn‐CuO NPs) is a novel doped metal nanomaterial prepared by our group based on Zinc doped copper oxide nanocomposites (Zn‐CuO NPs) using non‐micellar beam. Compared with Zn‐CuO NPs, MEnZn‐CuO NPs have uniform nanoproperties and high stability. In this study, we explored the anticancer effects of MEnZn‐CuO NPs on human ovarian cancer cells. In addition to affecting cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis and autophagy, MEnZn‐CuO NPs have a greater potential for clinical application by inducing HR repair defects in ovarian cancer cells in combination with poly (ADP‐ribose) polymerase inhibitors for lethal effects.

This paper discusses the solar cycle variation of the DE3 and DE2 nonmigrating tides in the nitric oxide (NO) 5.3 μm and carbon dioxide (CO2) 15 μm infrared cooling between 100 and 150 km altitude and ±40° latitude. Tidal diagnostics of SABER NO and CO2 cooling rate data (2002–2013) indicate DE3 (DE2) amplitudes during solar maximum are on the order of 1 (0.5) nW/m3 in NO near 125 km, and on the order of 60 (30) nW/m3 in CO2 at 100 km, which translates into roughly 15–30% relative to the monthly zonal mean. The NO cooling shows a pronounced (factor of 10) solar cycle dependence (lower during solar minimum) while the CO2 cooling does not vary much from solar min to solar max. Photochemical modeling reproduces the observed solar cycle variability and allows one to delineate the physical reasons for the observed solar flux dependence of the tides in the infrared cooling, particularly in terms of warmer/colder background temperature versus smaller/larger tidal temperatures during solar max/min, in addition to cooling rate variations due to vertical tidal advection and tidal density variations. Our results suggest that (i) tides caused by tropospheric weather impose a substantial—and in the NO 5.3 μm case solar cycle dependent—modulation of the infrared cooling, mainly due to tidal temperature, and (ii) observed tides in the infrared cooling are a suitable proxy for tidal activity including its solar cycle dependence in a part of Earth's atmosphere where direct global temperature observations are lacking. Discovery of drugs rapidly and effectively is an important aspect for Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this study, a novel high-throughput screening (HTS) method aims at screening the small-molecules with amyloid-β (Aβ) binding affinity from natural medicines, based on the combinational use of biolayer interferometry (BLI) and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode-array detector and quadrupole/time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC−DAD-Q/TOF-MS/MS) has been firstly developed. Briefly, the components in natural medicines disassociated from biotinylated Aβ were collected to analyze their potential Aβ binding affinity by UHPLC−DAD-Q/TOF-MS/MS. Here, baicalein was confirmed to exhibit the highest binding affinity with Aβ in Scutellaria baicalensis. Moreover, polyporenic acid C (PPAC), dehydrotumulosic acid (DTA), and tumulosic acid (TA) in Kai-Xin-San (KXS) were also identified as potent Aβ inhibitors. Further bioactivity validations indicated that these compounds could inhibit Aβ fibrillation, improve the viability in Aβ-induced PC-12 cells, and decrease the Aβ content and improve the behavioral ability in Caenorhabditis elegans. The molecular docking results confirmed that PPAC, DTA, and TA possessed good binding properties with Aβ. Collectively, the present study has provided a novel and effective HTS method for the identification of natural inhibitors on Aβ fibrillation, which may accelerate the process on anti-AD drugs discovery and development.

Objective. To study the morphofunctional characteristics of basketball players aged 17-20 years, taking into account their game role, and to substantiate the possibility of using them as criteria for selection and orientation at the stage of preparation for higher achievements. Materials and methods. The study participants were 200 basketball players (17-20 years old). The following methods were used: theoretical analysis, pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment with the use of instrumental methods of functional diagnostics (ergometry, chronometry, spirometry, gas analysis, and pulsometry), anthropometric methods, statistical methods. Results. The study determined statistically significant differences in height and weight in all playing positions: the point guard is characterized by statistically significantly shorter body height compared to the shooting guard (U = 46.5; z = -6.88; p < 0.01), the shooting guard is statistically significantly shorter than the small forward (U = 51.0; z = -5.58; p < 0.01), the latter is shorter compared to the power forward (U = 38.0; z = -5.56; p < 0.01). The center was found to be statistically significantly taller than the power forward (U = 82.0; z = 4.24; p < 0.01). The model height indicators of centers at this stage of improvement are 205.9 ± 3.53 cm. Groups of athletes, depending on their roles, statistically significantly differ in body weight (F = 64.304; p < 0.01). Centers are the heaviest and point guards – the lightest basketball players. The dynamics of body height and weight indicators of basketball players from 16 to 20 years were determined. Point guards and shooting guards have a statistically significantly higher level of VO2max compared to centers and power forwards. The average level of VO2max of players in the point guard position was 57.05 ± 3.78 ml.kg.-1min. In centers, this indicator is on average 49.10 ± 4.63 ml.kg-1.min-1. Centers had the VLC in the range of 9.38 ± 0.76 l, power forwards – 8.72 ± 0.80 l, defensive players – 7.5-8 l. No statistically significant differences were found in players with different roles in the level of AnT as a percentage of VO2max. Conclusions. Morphological and functional characteristics serve as informative criteria for monitoring the individual condition of players, are dynamic and can be used in different age groups, taking into account the specifics of team training and individual qualities.

Efficient and accurate classification of the microseismic data obtained in coal mine production is of great significance for the guidance of coal mine production safety, disaster prevention and early warning. In the early stage, the classification of microseismic events relies on human experiences, which is not only inefficient but also often causes some misclassifications. In recent years, the neural network-based classification method has become more favored by people because of its advantages in modeling procedures. A microseismic signal is a kind of time-series signal and the application of the classification method is widely optimistic. The number and the balance of the training data samples have an important impact on the accuracy of the classification result. However, the quality of the training data set obtained from the production cannot be guaranteed. A long short-term memory (LSTM) network can analyze the time-series input data, where the image classification at the pixel level can be achieved by the fully convolutional network (FCN). The two structures in the network can not only use the advantages of the FCN for extracting signal details but also use the characteristics of LSTM for conveying and expressing the long time-series information effectively. In this paper, a time-series data enhancement combination process is proposed for the actual poor microseismic data. A hybrid FCN-LSTM network structure was built, the optimal network parameters were obtained by experiments, and finally a reasonable microseismic data classifier was obtained.

As a novel type of green energy storage device, supercapacitors exhibit several orders of magnitude higher capacities than the traditional dielectric capacitors and significantly higher power density than the traditional secondary batteries. Supercapacitors have been widely applied in energy storage fields. Electrode materials, as pivotal components of supercapacitors, play an important role in electrochemical performance. Molybdenum-based materials have attracted widespread attention for their high theoretical capacitance, abundant resources, and facile synthesis tactics. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically summarize the application of Mo-based electrode materials in high-performance supercapacitors and unveil their developmental direction and trends. In this paper, we provide a review of binary Mo-based materials, ternary Mo-based materials, nanocomposites of Mo-based materials, and Mo-based MOFs and derivative materials. In addition, we further point out the key issues on the development of Mo-based materials in supercapacitors. This review may inspire more insightful works and enlighten other electrochemical areas concerning Mo-based materials.

The strobilurin fungicide pyraclostrobin is widely used to prevent and control the fungal diseases of various nectar and pollen plants. Honeybees also directly or indirectly contact this fungicide with a long-term exposure period. However, the effects of pyraclostrobin on the development and physiology of Apis mellifera larvae and pupae during continuous exposure have been rarely known. To investigate the effects of field-realistic concentrations of pyraclostrobin on honeybee survival and development, the 2-day-old larvae were continuously fed with different pyraclostrobin solutions (100 mg/L and 83.3 mg/L), and the expression of development-, nutrient-, and immune-related genes in larvae and pupae were examined. The results showed that two field-realistic concentrations of pyraclostrobin (100 and 83.3 mg/L) significantly decreased the survival and capped rate of larvae, the weight of pupae and newly emerged adults, and such decrease was a positive correlation to the treatment concentrations. qPCR results showed that pyraclostrobin could induce the expression of Usp, ILP2, Vg, Defensin1, and Hymenoptaecin, decrease the expression of Hex100, Apidaecin, and Abaecin in larvae, could increase the expression of Ecr, Usp, Hex70b, Vg, Apidaecin, and Hymenoptaecin, and decreased the expression of ILP1, Hex100 and Defensin1in pupae. These results reflect pyraclostrobin could decrease nutrient metabolism, immune competence and seriously affect the development of honeybees. It should be used cautiously in agricultural practices, especially in the process of bee pollination.

Backgroud: Protein kinases play an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation, mobility and cell cycle arrest etc. These enzymes act as important targets in developing anticancer agents. Over the years, a large number of protein kinase inhibitors have been discovered and developed as anticancer agents for the treatment of cancers clinically. However, the drug-resiatance and off-targeting limit their effeciancy for the treatment of human cancer. Materials and methods: Alkaloids are an important class of natural products with broad spectrum biological activities. In the past decades, numerus alkaloids with significant anticancer activity by inhibiting protein kinases were identified. In the present mini-review, we will present the key enzymes including mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin (PI3K/AKT/mTOR) and janus-activated kinases/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) targeted by alkaloids and highlight the special sites targeted by alkaloids on protein kinases and/or reversing drug resistance. Additionally, the challenge and prospect of developing alkaloids as new anticancer agents are also discussed. Conclusion: Alkaloids suppressed tumor growth through targeting different signaling pathways mediated by protein kinases of cancer cells. It is conceivable that novel alkaloids anticancer agents with promising clinical value will be developed in the future.
