Chlorantraniliprole (CAP) is an insecticide widely used to control the small white butterfly (SWB), Pieris rapae. Exposure to CAP can cause oxidative injury in SWB; however, it is unclear if antioxidant enzymes are involved in the defense process. In this study, a thioredoxin peroxidase (PrTPX1) gene was identified from SWB by using a homology search method. The gene encoded a 195 amino-acid PrTPX1 protein. Sequence characteristics and phylogenetic analysis indicated that PrTPX1 was a typical "2-Cys" TPX, and the PrTPX1 gene consisted of four exons and three introns. Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis indicated that the messenger RNA levels of PrTPX1 were highest in third-, fourth- and fifth-instar larval stages and in the larval midgut. 53. [Temporal and Spatial Variation Characteristics and Source Analysis of Agricultural Non-point Source Pollution Load in Guangdong During the Past 20 Years]

The agricultural non-point source pollution (ANPSP) load in Guangdong province is very large and has a serious impact on the regional ecological environment. Inventory analysis was used to assess and analyze the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of the ANPSP load of Guangdong province during 1999-2019, and the sources of ANPSP were discussed, as well as the relationship between them. The results showed that, during the past 20 years, the total ANPSP pollution loads of Guangdong province decreased by 6.08%, and the pollution loads of chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) increased by -11.88%, 4.99%, and 26.17%, respectively. The input intensity of chemical fertilizers and pesticides increased by 112.19% and 60.38%, respectively. The Pearl River Delta had the highest ANPSP loads in Guangdong province, followed by those in northern, western, and eastern Guangdong. Livestock and poultry breeding were the main sources of COD, the total percent fertilizers and livestock and poultry breeding were the main sources of TN, and livestock and poultry breeding and aquaculture were the main sources of TP. In addition, the contribution of pollutants discharged from aquaculture showed an obvious increasing trend. There were certain differences in the pollution sources in different regions. In western Guangdong, northern Guangdong, and eastern Guangdong, livestock and poultry breeding were the main sources of COD and TP, and fertilizer was the main source of TN; by contrast in the Pearl River Delta, aquaculture had become the main source of TN and TP pollution loads. The correlation results showed that the decline in the total ANPSP in Guangdong province was mainly due to the increase in high urbanization rate and the decrease in the proportion of rural population. In general, there were stage changes in the time and differences in spatial characteristics and sources of ANPSP in Guangdong province. A combination of comprehensive treatment and targeted pollution treatment should be adopted, and fertilizer reduction measures and pollution treatment in the aquaculture should be strengthened in an all-around way, focusing on strengthening the treatment of pollution from aquaculture in the Pearl River Delta region and the treatment of rural life pollution in northern Guangdong.

The quantitative efficacy of L-carnitine on fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients were evaluated by maximal effect (EIn the model of FPG, EIt was the first time to provide valuable quantitative information for efficacy of L-carnitine supplementation on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.

Ferroelectric materials are promising for solar energy conversion due to the unique spontaneous polarization effect, leading to effective control of electron-hole recombination and potentially high power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells. Herein, the ultrathin ferroelectric hafnia alumina (HfAlO) films were obtained by atomic layer deposition and applied to modify the electron transport layer of PSCs. The XPS and AFM characterizations indicate that the Hf0.39Al0.10O films feature smooth, dense, and compact surface morphology. For the devices incorporating the ultrathin HfAlO films, the oriented ferroelectric effect-induced spontaneous polarization and internal electric field are crucial factors to enhance the charge separation during charge transfer. Accordingly, the short circuit current, open-circuit voltage, and power conversion efficiency (PCE) are increased by 11.8%, 9.0%, and 29.8%, respectively. Moreover, the HfAlO incorporating devices retained ~ 80% of the original PCE after 500 h ageing, much better than that of the pristine devices showing the retention of only ~ 50% of the original PCE.

In order to optimize the application of Al electrodes in pyrochemical reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, the feasibility of porous Al electrodes to separate actinides-lanthanides (An-Ln) in LiCl-KCl eutectic melt was explored. The separation efficiencies and rates of U and lanthanides (La, Ce, Sm) on Al electrodes with regular and irregular and without pores were compared. U was selectively recovered in the form of U-Al alloys by controlling the potential (−1.2 V) on both Al rod and porous Al electrodes. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) showed that the obtained granular alloys were mainly Al3U and Al4U, and inductive coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) indicated that there was almost no Ln in the electrolysis products. Positively, the required separation time was greatly shortened, and the separation rate was effectively improved when porous Al electrodes were used. In addition, the Al honeycomb electrode with regular pores has better kinetic performance compared with Al foam electrodes with irregular pores. The results indicate that the specially designed porous Al electrodes may have a good application prospect for the separation of An-Ln in the pyrochemical reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel.

Approximately 10% of bone fractures do not heal satisfactorily, leading to significant clinical and socioeconomic implications. Recently, the role of macrophages in regulating bone marrow stem cell (BMSC) differentiation through the osteogenic pathway during fracture healing has attracted much attention. Methods: The tibial monocortical defect model was employed to determine the critical role of macrophage scavenger receptor 1 (MSR1) during intramembranous ossification (IO) in vivo. The potential functions and mechanisms of MSR1 were explored in a co-culture system of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs), RAW264.7 cells, and BMSCs using qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and RNA sequencing. Results: In this study, using the tibial monocortical defect model, we observed delayed IO in MSR1 knockout (KO) mice compared to MSR1 wild-type (WT) mice. Furthermore, macrophage MSR1 mediated PI3K/AKT/GSK3β/β-catenin signaling increased ability to promote osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs in the co-culture system. We also identified proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC1α) as the target gene for macrophage MSR1-activated PI3K/AKT/GSK3β/β-catenin pathway in the co-culture system that facilitated M2-like polarization by enhancing mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. Conclusion: Our findings revealed a previously unrecognized function of MSR1 in macrophages during fracture repair. Targeting MSR1 might, therefore, be a new therapeutic strategy for fracture repair.

A new biflavone (philonotisflavone-3′′′-methyl ether), three diterpenes (lupulin G, lupulin H, lupulin I), a new ecdysteroid (ajugasterone E), and four known compounds were isolated from the whole plant of Ajuga lupulina Maxim. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis, including MS, NMR and ECD spectral data. Compounds 1-3 has DPPH radical scavenging ability, and compound 1 has stronger activity than vitamin C. Compounds 2, 3, 7 and 8 have potential cytotoxic activity against Hela, with IC50 values less than 20.0 μM. Abietane diterpenes 2, 3, 7 and 8 are also found to have NO inhibitory effects with IC50 values less than 40.0 μM.

In this case, the acupuncture treatment for open-angle glaucoma patient achieved a significant result. The acupoints Jīngming (睛明BL1), Qiuhou (球后Extra), Fēngchi (风池GB20), and Taichōng (太冲LR3) were used as the main ones plus some symptomatic acupoints. After one course of treatment, the left eye pressure decreased by 12 mmHg compared with that before treatment, the left eye vision improved, and the fundus oozing was significantly reduced. After two courses of treatment, the left eye pressure was below 20 mmHg, left eye vision obviously improved, and the fundus oozing completely disappeared.

Purpose: The study aimed to explore the effects of l-carnitine, acetyl-l-carnitine, and propionyl-l-carnitine on Body Mass in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.Methods: Randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies of l-carnitine, acetyl-l-carnitine, and propionyl-l-carnitine in T2DM patients were searched. The change rates of Body Mass index (BMI) from baseline values were used as an evaluation indicator. The maximal effect (Emax) model by non-linear mixed-effect modeling (NONMEM) was used as the evaluation method.Results: A total of 10 RCT studies, 1239 T2DM patients were included for analysis, including eight studies of l-carnitine, one study of acetyl-l-carnitine, and one study of propionyl-l-carnitine. The study found that l-carnitine could reduce the Body Mass of T2DM patients. Based on only one study each for acetyl-l-carnitine and propionyl-l-carnitine, no significant effects were found in acetyl-l-carnitine or propionyl-l-carnitine. In addition, in order to achieve a plateau of efficacy (80% Emax), 2 g/day l-carnitine was required for at least 2 weeks.Conclusions: Two g/day l-carnitine was required for at least 2 weeks to affect Body Mass in T2DM patients, and no significant effects were found in acetyl-l-carnitine or propionyl-l-carnitine.

WHAT IS KNOWN AND OBJECTIVES Dapagliflozin was the first oral treatment approved in type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) patients, simultaneously improving body weight. However, the time course and dose effect of dapagliflozin on loss of weight in T1DM patients was still unknown. The present study aimed to investigate quantitative relationship between dapagliflozin and loss of weight in T1DM patients based on Model-based Meta-analysis. METHODS Five dapagliflozin dosage groups, two of them were 5 mg/day and three of them were 10 mg/day, 1612 T1DM patients were analysed with maximal effect (Emax ) model, and evaluation index was change rate of body weight from baseline value. RESULTS In these T1DM patients, dosages were not incorporated into model, indicating no significant dose-response relationship between 5 and 10 mg/day affecting loss of weight. Emax and the treatment duration to reach half of the maximal effects (ET50 ) of dapagliflozin influencing loss of weight in T1DM patients were -4.9% and 10.4 weeks, and the duration to achieve 25%, 50%, 75%, and 80% (plateau) of Emax were 3.5, 10.4, 31.2, and 41.6 weeks. WHAT IS NEW AND CONCLUSIONS It was the first time to explore quantitative relationship between dapagliflozin and loss of weight in T1DM patients. To achieve the plateau period in loss of weight, 5 mg/day dapagliflozin was required for at least 41.6 weeks.

Beneficial effects of parent-administered pediatric tuina on ADHD in children have been reported in previous studies, but no rigorously designed randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have been conducted on it.To assess the feasibility and preliminary effects of parent-administered pediatric tuina for ADHD symptoms in preschoolers.This project was a two-arm, parallel, open-label, pilot RCT. Sixty-four participants were randomized into two groups at a 1:1 ratio. Parents in the parent-administered tuina group (n = 32) attended an online training program on pediatric tuina for ADHD and conduct this intervention on their children at home. Parents in the parent-child interaction group (n = 32) attended an online training about progressive muscle relaxation exercise and carried out parent-child interactive physical activities with their children at home. Both interventions were carried out every other day during a two-month intervention period, with each manipulation for at least 20 min. Feasibility outcomes included recruitment rate, consent rate, participants' adherence, retention rate, and adverse event. Outcomes were assessed at baseline, week 4, and week 8. The primary outcome measure was the Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham parent scale (SNAP); the secondary outcomes included preschool anxiety scale, children's sleep habits questionnaire, and parental stress scale. A mixed-method process evaluation embedded within the outcome evaluation was performed.The recruitment rate was 12.8 per month. The consent rate was 98.5%. Good adherence was shown from the parent logbook. Four participants withdraw from the study. No severe adverse event was reported. For the SNAP total score, both groups showed improvement with moderate within-group effect size (Cohen's d0.5, all p0.001) and the between-group effect size was minimal (dThe study design and the parent-administered pediatric tuina intervention were feasible. Parent-administered pediatric tuina provided beneficial effects on improving core hyperactivity/impulsivity symptoms in preschool children. Parents perceived improvements on children's appetite and sleep quality. Further large-scale are warranted.

71. Association between P-Selectin Autoantibody Positive and Response to Steroid Treatment in Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia Patients

Objective: This study aimed to detect the association between P-selectin autoantibody positive and response to steroid treatment in newly diagnosed immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) patients. Methods: The data from 105 newly diagnosed adult ITP patients administered with first-line of steroid treatment from October 2016 to May 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Treatment responses were evaluated within 3 months after the onset of treatment. Results: Among the 105 patients, 80.00% (84/105) of patients presented with platelet glycoprotein-specific antibody positive; 44.76% (47/105) patients were anti-P-selectin positive, while 35.24% (37/105) were anti-P-selectin negative. No significant difference in overall response was observed between patients who were anti-P-selectin positive and those who were anti-P-selectin negative (74.47% vs. 89.19, χ2 = 2.910, p = 0.088). But patients who were anti-P-selectin negative had significantly higher complete response rate, compared to those who were anti-P-selectin positive (72.97% vs. 48.94%, χ2 = 4,965, p = 0.026). Logistic regression analysis revealed that anti-GP IIb/IIIa positive (OR = 3.114, p = 0.010, 95% CI: 1.313–7.388) and anti-P-selectin positive (OR = 0.309, p = 0.036, 95% CI: 0.127–0.753) were two factors that could affect patients’ response. Conclusions: Our study found that ITP patients with anti-GP IIb/IIIa may have a higher response to steroid treatment, but anti-P-selectin-mediated-ITP might be less responsive to steroid treatment. In adults with ITP, the presence of anti-P-selectin autoantibodies is a predictive factor for poor response to steroid treatment.

The green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer), is a serious agricultural pest with a worldwide distribution. Catalase (CAT), which is encoded by the catalase (Cat) gene, is an extremely important antioxidant enzyme that plays a pivotal role in protecting cells against the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. The Cat gene has not been characterized in M. persicae; therefore, this study describes the identification of the Cat (MpCat) gene from M. persicae. MpCat contains an open reading frame of 1515 bp and encodes a MpCAT protein consisting of 504 amino-acid residues. MpCAT possesses features typical of other insect catalases, including 7 conserved amino acids involved in binding heme and 15 involved in binding nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate. Phylogenetic analysis showed that MpCAT was closely related to orthologs from other aphid species. MpCat consisted of nine exons and eight introns, and the number and insertion sites of introns are consistent with those of Cat genes from Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) and Aphis gossypii Glover. The mRNA transcripts of MpCat were detected at all tested developmental stages, with the highest mRNA level in alate adults. The expression of MpCat was significantly upregulated when M. persicae was exposed to low and high temperatures, ultraviolet radiation, Beauveria bassiana, and permethrin. The transcription of MpCat and the activity of catalase were suppressed by RNA interference, and knockdown of MpCat significantly reduced the survival rate in M. persicae under heat stress. The results provide valuable information for further study on the physiological functions of MpCat.

Various plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) ceramic coatings were fabricated on aluminum in the electrolytes with different concentrations of Na2SiO3·9H2O. The morphology of fractured cross-section and coating/substrate (C/S) interface, phase compositions, and corrosion behavior of these ceramic coatings were characterized employing field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The results showed that adding Na2SiO3·9H2O in the electrolyte could reduce the decrease amplitude of the voltage-time curve, and it can affect the types of the anodic film before the beginning of plasma discharges. A novel phenomenon was recorded as PEO treatment was carried out in the electrolyte with 1.85 g l−1 Na2SiO3·9H2O that the substrate was first covered by a barrier-type anodic film, and then a porous-type anodic film appeared after the barrier-type anodic film was broken down. The anodic film continued to grow for a long duration in the PEO process after being broken down. Characteristics of PEO ceramic coatings with a similar thickness acquired in various electrolytes were also evaluated. XRD results indicated that these ceramic coatings of similar thickness were mainly composed of α-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3, and the α-Al2O3 proportion decreased with increasing Na2SiO3·9H2O concentration. The electrochemical data showed that the corrosion resistance of these PEO ceramic coatings of similar thickness decreased by adding Na2SiO3·9H2O in the electrolyte.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) of Al was carried out in dilute alkaline sodium tripolyphosphate (Na5P3O10) electrolyte. Surface and cross-section morphologies, elemental and phase compositions were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The results revealed that a severe thinning of the anodic film resulted in the voltage decrease at the initial stage of the PEO process. Porous-type anodic film with uniform pore diameter were fabricated at the initial stage of PEO process. Subsequently, detachments and cracks took place on the anodic films, and served as weak regions occurring dielectric breakdown preferentially due to the concentration of electric current at these sites. Two origins of PEO coatings, the transformation of anodic films and the normal generation of PEO coatings through the plasma discharges, were proposed. The results also indicated that P element mainly participated in the anodic oxidation and existed as amorphous phase in the inner side areas of anodic films except the barrier layer. Based on the analyses of the microstructure evolution and the chemical composition, a schematic of coating growth mechanism was proposed in the end.

A plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coating was fabricated on AA1060 alloy in an alkaline sodium hexametaphosphate ((NaPO3)6) electrolyte. The growth characteristic of the PEO coating was investigated by means of a substrate-detachment technique, Scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Mott-Schottky analysis. The results showed that an ordered and porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) film was formed at the anodic oxidation stage by the influence of (NaPO3)6 in the electrolyte, and the microstructure of the AAO film induced the plasma discharge events to initiate inside the AAO film. The Mott-Schottky analysis showed that the PEO coated samples were all represented n-type semiconducting behavior. The microstructures of detached coatings showed that the coating/substrate interfaces formed at the anodic oxidation stage and sparking stage consist of numerous hemispherical cap structures, but with different sizes. It was also revealed that the inward growth of the hemispherical cap structures is dependent on the diffusion of oxygen from the electrolyte or plasma gases to substrate, and P atoms mainly exist in the amorphous phase of the PEO coating.

Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences of the genus Sphingobium showed the presence of four distinguishable clusters, in each of which the species shared almost the same evolutionary distance. They were Sphingobium indicum , Sphinogbium lucknowense, Sphinogbium chinhatense, Sphinogbium francense and Sphinogbium japonicum in cluster I, Sphinogbium barthaii and Sphinogbium fuliginis in cluster II, Sphinogbium hydrophobicum and Sphinogbium xenophagum in cluster III and Sphinogbium czechense and Sphinogbium cupriresistens in cluster IV. The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities between the species in each cluster were all higher than 98 %. Genome-based average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA–DNA hybridization (dDDH) relatedness values between the species of each cluster were all higher than the threshold values of 95–96 % ANI and 70 % dDDH for species discrimination, respectively, suggesting that each cluster represents only one species of the genus Sphingobium . Due to priority of publication, S. lucknowense , S. chinhatense , S. francense and S. japonicum should be taken as later heterotypic synonyms of S. indicum , S. barthaii as a later heterotypic synonym of S. fuliginis , S. hydrophobicum as a later heterotypic synonym of S. xenophagum and S. czechense as a later heterotypic synonym of S. cupriresistens . Correspondingly, the descriptions of S. indicum , S. fuliginis , S. xenophagum and S. cupriresistens are also emended based on this study.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coatings were fabricated on the aluminum in silicate electrolyte. Microstructures and elemental compositions of these PEO coatings were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with an energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Corrosion resistances of the coated samples were evaluated using the measurements of open-circuit potential (OCP), repetitive polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. The results indicated that the PEO coatings not only act as a physical shield limiting the penetration of corrosive solution, but also establish an anodic location with high concentration of H+ ions and other product ions as pitting corrosion begins. With the development of pitting corrosion, the accumulation of corrosion products inside the pits and pores of the coatings decreases the corrosion process effectively.

Macrophage-orchestrated, low-grade chronic inflammation plays a pivotal role in obesity and atherogenesis. However, the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify major vault protein (MVP), the main component of unique cellular ribonucleoprotein particles, as a suppressor for NF-κB signaling in macrophages. Both global and myeloid-specific MVP gene knockout aggravates high-fat diet induced obesity, insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis and atherosclerosis in mice. The exacerbated metabolic disorders caused by MVP deficiency are accompanied with increased macrophage infiltration and heightened inflammatory responses in the microenvironments. In vitro studies reveal that MVP interacts with TRAF6 preventing its recruitment to IRAK1 and subsequent oligomerization and ubiquitination. Overexpression of MVP and its α-helical domain inhibits the activity of TRAF6 and suppresses macrophage inflammation. Our results demonstrate that macrophage MVP constitutes a key constraint of NF-κB signaling thereby suppressing metabolic diseases., Metabolic diseases are associated with chronic, low-grade inflammation. Here the authors show that major vault protein (MVP) suppresses NF-κB signalling in macrophages via an IRAK1–TRAF6 axis and that loss of MVP in myeloid cells exacerbates the inflammatory response in mice fed a high fat diet.

The present study aimed to explore the effects of cimetidine on ciclosporin population pharmacokinetics and initial dose optimization in aplastic anemia patients. Aplastic anemia patients were used to establish a population pharmacokinetic model by the nonlinear mixed effect (NONMEM), and concentrations of ciclosporin were simulated by Monte Carlo method. With the same weight, the ciclosporin clearance rates were 0.387:1 in patients with or without cimetidine, respectively. In the measured ciclosporin concentrations, compared to aplastic anemia patients without cimetidine, ciclosporin concentrations were higher in patients with cimetidine (P0.01). Further research found that at the same body weight and same dose, ciclosporin concentrations in aplastic anemia patients with cimetidine were indeed higher than those in patients without cimetidine (P0.01). The initial recommended ciclosporin dose for patients without cimetidine were 7mg/kg splited into two doses for weight of 40-60kg, and 6mg/kg splited into two doses for weight of 60-100kg. The patients with cimetidine were recommended to take 3mg/kg ciclosporin splited into two doses for weight of 40-100kg. It was the first time to explore the effects of cimetidine on ciclosporin population pharmacokinetics and initial dose optimization in aplastic anemia patients. Patients coadministration of cimetidine, may need low ciclosporin dose.

Eight undescribed diterpenoids, euphorfinoids E-L, together with twelve known analogues, were isolated from the roots of wild Euphorbia fischeriana. Microinvasive carcinoma (MIC) of the breast is a rare lesion. The clinicopathologic features and biologic behavior of MIC are unclear. Whether MIC is a distinct entity or an interim stage in the progression from ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to invasive breast carcinoma (IBC) remains to be determined. A retrospective review of clinicopathologic features and analysis of the expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), and Ki-67 in patients with MIC (90 cases), DCIS (268 cases) and IBC (1504 cases) was performed. Most MICs (93.3%) exhibited an intermediate to high nuclear grade, and this proportion was larger than that of DCIS (62.7%, P < 0.001) or IBC (85.4%, P = 0.036). The incidence of sentinel lymph node metastasis in MIC (12.5%) was higher than that of DCIS (1.6%, P < 0.001), but much lower than that of IBC (39.7%, P < 0.001). MICs had higher expression of HER-2 and lower expression of ER and PR compared to DCIS and IBC; and MIC was more likely to present with a HER-2+ subtype. Furthermore, DCIS exhibited greater HER-2 overexpression or gene amplification (P < 0.001) levels and lower proliferation index of Ki-67 (P < 0.001) compared to IBC. Our results suggest that the clinicopathologic and molecular phenotype of MIC are different from DCIS and IBC. Thus, MIC may be a distinct entity rather than an interim stage in the progression from DCIS to IBC. The prognosis of MIC and the biologic behavior of this uncommon subset need to be further explored.

Six new lignanoids, Glalignin A-E (1–5) and Glaneolignin A (6), together with four analogues, (+)-isolariciresinol (7), (+)-syringaresinol (8), dihydrodehydrodiconiferyl alcohol (9) and tribulusamide A (10), were obtained from the aerial parts of Sigesbeckia glabrescens Makino and also isolated for the first time from the Sigesbeckia genus. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by the interpretation of HRESIMS, 1D NMR, 2D NMR data and chemical evidence. The cytotoxic activities of the compounds were evaluated by testing their inhibition in several tumor cells using the MTT assay. New compound 2 and 5 displayed cytotoxicity against the human cancer cell lines human lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549) with IC50 values of 32.89 ± 6.83 and 35.86 ± 6.83 μM.

Coatings prepared by different electrolyte additives were investigated on AZ31 magnesium alloy by plasma electrolytic oxidation. In this study, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis were employed to assess the morphologies, chemical and phase compositions of the plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coatings, respectively. Furthermore, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to evaluate the corrosion behavior of the composite coating. The investigation of the effect of electrolyte additives in the base electrolyte showed that the PEO specimens exhibit different surface and cross-sectional morphologies, and phase compositions. The results showed that SiO32&minus, was conducive to the growth of the ceramic layer, and the ceramic layer developing in the electrolyte which contained AlO2&minus, showed a typical double-layer structure. The corrosion resistance of coating formed in a phosphate bath was higher than that of the coating formed in silicate bath and coating formed in an aluminate bath. Moreover, the corrosion resistance of the coating formed in the fluoride bath was the highest.

Background Medication and behavior therapy are the conventional treatments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but they have limitations for preschool children. Evidence suggests that pediatric tuina, which is a modality of traditional Chinese medicine, might have beneficial effects on this condition. Objective To assess the feasibility of conducting an RCT in terms of recruitment, use, and acceptability of the parent-administered pediatric tuina for ADHD symptoms in preschoolers. Methods It is a single-center, two-arm, parallel, open-label, pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT). Sixty children with pre-specified ADHD symptoms (hyperactivity, anxiety, and sleep disturbance) together with one of their parents will be recruited and randomized into two groups at a 1:1 ratio. Parents in the parent-administered tuina group (intervention group, n = 30) will attend an online training program to learn pediatric tuina skills for ADHD symptoms and conduct this treatment on their children at home. Parents in the parent-child interaction group (comparison group, n = 30) will attend an online training about progressive muscle relaxation exercise and do this exercise with their children at home. Additional teaching materials will be provided to the participants in both groups. Both interventions should be carried out every other day during a 2-month treatment period, with each time around 20 min. Assessment will be performed at baseline, week 4, and week 8. The primary outcome measure is the Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham parent scale; the secondary outcomes include preschool anxiety scale, children’s sleep habits questionnaire, and parental stress scale. A process evaluation embedded within the outcome evaluation will be performed. Differences in the scale scores and test parameters between groups will be examined using a linear mixed-effects model. Qualitative data will be analyzed using thematic content analysis, facilitated by QSR NVivo. Discussion This study will provide evidence on the acceptability and feasibility of pediatric tuina for ADHD in preschool children. The process evaluation will help to better understand the facilitators and barriers of the intervention functioning. Inflammation occurs after acute ischemic stroke (AIS), and complement C1q is involved in inflammation. However, studies about the association of complement C1q with AIS are still rare. The aim of our study is to investigate the relationship between serum C1q concentration and the clinical severity of AIS.A total of 1294 patients were enrolled in our study, including 647 patients with AIS and 647 non-stroke controls. The infarction volume of AIS was assessed by the diameter of maximum transverse section (DMTS) based on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of brain magnetic resonance imaging. Neurological impairment was assessed by the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The association of serum C1q levels with DMTS or NIHSS was investigated by Pearson's or Spearman's correlation analysis.Serum C1q levels of patients with AIS were significantly higher than those of individuals without AIS. Serum levels of C1q were associated with DMTS (r=0.511, p0.001) and NIHSS (r=0.433, p0.001) among patients with AIS.Serum C1q concentration was positively associated with DMTS and NIHSS of patients with AIS.

Background Aging and the chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) challenge the Chinese government in the process of providing hospitalization services fairly and reasonably. The Chinese government has developed the basic medical insurance system to solve the problem of “expensive medical cost and difficult medical services” for vulnerable groups and alleviate the unfair phenomenon. However, few studies have confirmed its effect through longitudinal comparison. This study aimed to explore the trend in the inequity of inpatient use among middle-aged and elderly individuals with NCDs in China. Methods This longitudinal comparative study was based on CHARLS data in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Concentration index (CI) was used to measure the variation trend of inequity of inpatient services utilization, while the decomposition method of the CI was applied to measure the factors contributing to inequity in inpatient services utilization. The effect of each factor on the change of inequity in inpatient services utilization was divided into the change of the elasticity and the change of inequality using the Oaxaca-type decomposition method. Results The affluent middle-aged and elderly patients with NCDs used more inpatient services than poor groups. The per capita household consumption expenditure (PCE) and Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance (UEBMI) contributed to the decline in pro-rich inequality of inpatient use, while the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme (NRCMS) contributed to the decline in pro-poor inequality of inpatient use. Conclusions There was a certain degree of pro-rich unfairness in the probability and frequency of inpatient services utilization for middle-aged and elderly individuals with NCDs in China. The decrease of pro-wealth contribution of PCE and UEBMI offset the decrease of pro-poor contribution of NRCMS, and improved the equity of inpatient services utilization, favoring poor people.

Novel graphene oxide on polystyrene microspheres were fabricated via layer-by-layer assembly and initially applied to extract four bisphenol endocrine disruptors (bisphenol A, bisphenol B, bisphenol AF, tetrabromobisphenol A) in various environmental water samples following high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry determination. The as-synthesized adsorbent was then applied for dispersive solid-phase extraction. The as-prepared GO@PS was characterized using scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Furthermore, the main parameters governing the extraction efficiency were optimized in detail, and under the optimized conditions, attractive results were obtained. The developed method exhibited high enrichment factors ranging from 73 (BPB) to103 (BPA), low detection limits (0.02-0.11 μg·L-1) and wide linear ranges (0.1-1000 μg·L-1) for enriching and detecting the four bisphenol endocrine disruptors. Meanwhile, acceptable results were obtained when the developed technique was used to determine four target pollutants in real water samples, with spiked recoveries in the range of 71.1%-104.8%. This indicated that GO@PS was a powerful material for the enrichment and determination of bisphenols in complex matrices.

Methods A total of 31,417 people from the Han, Hui, Tibetan, Yugu, Dongxiang and Baoan ethnic groups in Gansu province, China were selected by stratified cluster random sampling, and the prevalence and risk factors of adult dyslipidemia were analyzed based on such sample. In the current investigation, plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) ceramic coatings on Al are galvanostatically synthesized at various processing stages in an alkaline silicate system. The resultant coatings are systematically surveyed in terms of the following respects: the applied voltage and surface sparking evolution over the studied course of PEO are recorded by the signal acquisition system and the real time imaging, respectively; the phase constitution, the surface morphology, polished cross section of the coated specimens, the fractured cross section and coating/substrate interface of the detached coatings are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) assisted with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS), respectively. In particular, the coatings detached by an in-house developed electrochemical way disclose the coating microstructure in a new angle, which allows the cross section and the coating/substrate interface to come clearly into focus. The microstructure evolution of the oxide ceramic coatings and the correspondences among the characteristic microstructures of the free surface, the fractured cross section and the coating/substrate interface are presented and discussed. Further, based on the present PEO coating microstructure, a model of the coating growth that evolves over time is proposed.

Background With the rise of the aging population, it is particularly important for health services to be used fairly and reasonably in the elderly. This study aimed to assess the present inequality and horizontal inequity for health service use among the elderly in China and to identify the main determinants associated with the disparity. Methods This cross-sectional study was based on the sample of the survey of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) for 2015. The elderly was defined as individuals aged 60 and above, with a total of 7836 participants. We used the concentration index (CI) and the horizontal inequity (HI) to measure the inequity of the utilization of health services. The method of concentration index decomposition was utilized to measure the contribution of various influential factors to the overall unfairness. Results The CI for the probability and the frequency of outpatient use were 0.1102 and 0.1015, respectively, and the corresponding values of inpatient use were 0.2777 and 0.2980, respectively. The household consumption expenditure disparity was the greatest inequality factor favoring the better-off. The Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance made a pro-wealth contribution to inequality in frequency of health services utilization (17.58% for outpatient and 13.40% for inpatient). The contributions of New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme on reducing unfairness in inpatient use were limited (− 2.23% for probability of inpatient use and − 5.89% for frequency of inpatient use). Conclusions There was a strong pro-rich inequality in both the probability and the frequency of use for health services among the elderly in China. The medical insurance was not enough to address this inequity, and different medical insurance schemes had different effects on the unfairness of health service utilization.

100. Genome-based reclassification of Sphingopyxis ummariensis as a later heterotypic synonym of Sphingopyxis terrae, with the descriptions of Sphingopyxis terrae subsp. terrae subsp. nov. and Sphingopyxis terrae subsp. ummariensis subsp. nov

During the phylogenetic analysis of the genus Sphingopyxis , we found that an incorrect 16S rRNA gene sequence (accession number: D13727) was provided in the original description of Sphingopyxisterrae NBRC 15098T and the wrong sequence has been adopted and used for a long time. It should be replaced by the new correct 16S rRNA gene sequence (accession number: MF618306). The new sequence shared the highest similarity (99.8 %) with that of Sphingopyxisummariensis DSM 24316T. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) (96.87 %) and digital DNA–DNA hybridization (75.30 %) values based on the whole-genome sequences and almost the same phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics of the two type strains revealed that Sphingopyxis ummariensis should be a later heterotypic synonym of Sphingopyxis terrae . However, the distinctions in the genome size, hydrolysis of aesculin, α-glucosidase and particularly the fatty acid profiles strongly support that strain DSM 24316T should be considered to represent a novel subspecies of Sphingopyxis terrae. Two novel subspecies are therefore proposed, namely Sphingopyxisterrae subsp. terrae subsp. nov. (type strain E-1-AT=NBRC 15098T=JCM 10195T=DSM 8831T=LMG 17326T) and Sphingopyxisterrae subsp. ummariensis subsp. nov. (type strain UI2T=DSM 24316T=CCM 7428T=MTCC 8591T).
