- Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of overweight, obesity, physical activity levels, and self-esteem of the school children population of San Pedro Sula. The sample was 825 children aged 9-13 years, which were divided into 416 girls and 409 boys. Measurements of BMI (kg/H^2), Physical Activity level (PAQ-C) and Self-esteem (LAWSEQ) were made. A factorial analysis (ANOVA) was performed to observe differences between groups and the Pearson correlation for the study of the relationship of variables with 95% confidence intervals. It was found that 79.8% are in a healthy weight state; 14.8% in overweight and obesity, and 5.3% in malnutrition. It was also found that a moderate level of physical activity predominates in most of the children and a low self-esteem level in 46.9% and average self-esteem of 50.5%. Another finding was that the level of physical activity has a highly positive correlation with sex, being higher in boys than in girls; also physical activity has a very high positive correlation (r = 0.81, p=0.001) with self-esteem. Our results indicate that children in Honduras show a greater practice of physical activity by children than that of girls. In addition, it was found that a higher level of physical activity could be associated with better self-esteem in children.

- Abstract
As Husserl announced with emphasis on the final words of his famous Vienna conference on (May 10, 1935), “the crisis of European existence has only two exits: the decadence of Europe, alienated from its own rational sense of life, [and thus] the fall into the hatred of spirit and barbarism, or the rebirth of Europe from the spirit of philosophy through a heroism of reason that will definitely outgrow naturalism” (Husserl 1991: 358). There are many elements that lead us to think that the advanced postmodern Europe -and with it also the Spanish society- continues today in that dangerous situation, characterized by a radical distrust in reason that can in the mid-term return us to barbarism.

- Abstract
Different ferrosilicate samples have been prepared with varying degrees of crystallinity, porous texture, and speciation of the Fe sites by both hydrothermal and sol–gel procedures: Fe-silicalite-1 with microcrystals (2–10 µm) and nanocrystals (180 nm), Fe-containing composite material consisting of silicalite-1 and amorphous silica, and two samples of mesoporous Fe-containing amorphous silica Fe–SiO2. The resulting solids have been tested for their potential as organic pollutants removal under Fenton-like conditions in heterogeneous catalytic wet peroxide oxidation of phenol and clarithromycin lactobionate. Our results indicate that the three aforementioned parameters show a strong interplay towards the abatement of pollutants in liquid phase. Thus, samples with high crystallinity show an improved performance in the oxidation of organic contaminants over amorphous samples in which the Fe speciation is very well controlled.

- Abstract
Multiwall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with cobalt oxide (CoOx) nanoparticles (NPs) are prepared in various synthesis conditions to investigate their capability as oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts for fuel cells in alkaline media. The synthesis conditions include the use of protecting, reducing or complexing agents and heat treatment. Higher ORR activity is possible for smaller size of Co NPs catalysts due to the enlarged interfaces between Co species and CNTs. The addition of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as protecting agent and NaBH4 during the preparation procedure is necessary for obtaining the highest activity since it favors the formation of lower oxidation states for Co species and the incorporation of N groups which improve ORR activity. CNTs loaded with only 1 wt.% of Co NPs prepared by a facile method using PVP, NaBH4 and subsequent heat treatment at 500 °C under N2 atmosphere, demonstrates both similar catalytic activity and stability than Pt/Vulcan (20 wt.% Pt on Vulcan). The synergic chemical coupling effects between CNTs and CoOx NPs and the presence of carbon material with pyridinic N and quaternary N groups formed from the protecting agent decomposition, seem to be the main factors responsible for the remarkable electrocatalytic activity.

- Abstract
Simple, cost-effective, and reproducible devices have been prepared for the detection of H2 at room temperature. Pd, Cu and bimetallic Cu-Pd nanoparticles (prepared by the reduction-by-solvent method) have been loaded on a MWCNT deposit avoiding the use of surfactants or complicated techniques. The devices based on pure Pd nanoparticles have shown a high H2 sensitivity in the studied H2 concentration range with low response and recovery times. However, the addition of Cu in the metallic nanoparticles does not result in a considerable improvement. Furthermore, the Pd and Cu-Pd/MWCNTs-based sensors have kept part of their H2 sensitivity when they have been tested in an O2-depleted atmospheres, which is an altogether new finding compared to Pd-based systems. Through these experiments it has been possible to conclude how the main H2 detection mechanism is the electron transfer from the nanoparticles (when the PdHx is formed) to the carbon nanotubes.

- Abstract
Many catalytic applications use conventional heating to increase the temperature to allow the desired reaction. A novel methodology is presented for the preparation of magnetic zeolite-based catalysts, allowing more efficient radiofrequency heating. These nanoreactors are tested in the isomerisation of citronellal with successful results and without any apparent deactivation.

- Abstract
In the propylene epoxidation reaction with Fe-SiO2 catalysts the presence of iron oxide particles has a detrimental effect due to the total combustion of propylene on these iron species. Thus, the complete elimination of the iron oxide particles is presented as a preliminary strategy in order to increase the selectivity towards propylene oxide in iron-based catalysts. In this sense, a simple post-treatment of the catalysts with alkali or alkaline-earth elements (such as K or Ca, respectively) has proven effective in the total elimination of these iron oxide particles. Furthermore, the addition of K and Ca has modified the physico-chemical properties of the catalysts, decreasing their superficial acidity and (for higher K or Ca loadings) masking/blocking the active sites responsible for the catalytic reaction. With all this, it is shown that K has a higher efficiency removing the iron oxide particles compared with Ca (for the same molar ratios) and that a higher amount of K (compared to Fe) is required for the complete elimination of the iron oxide particles. A considerable propylene oxide selectivity enhancement (up to 65%) has been obtained for the K-promoted Fe0.005SiO2 and Fe0.01SiO2 catalysts using O2 as sole oxidant.

- Abstract
Theater groups in Puebla have been slowly but steadily proliferating shortly after the academy of dramatic art at the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP). This paper aimed to point out some adverse environments that are considered determinants to counteract the performance of individuals in dramatic art. The response, faced with this unfavorable context, has been a defensive and survival reaction that manifests itself through the formation of groups, in order to regain autonomy, meaning and identity. Through the deduction, specialists in behavior of the mass society, born in postmodernity, are analyzed who criticize the reasons of life focused on the consumption. This general characteristic rests in the poblana society to the detriment of aspirants and professionals of dramatic art of the BUAP, by a clear rejection to their expectations as artists. In reviewing some consumer society tendencies, such as obtaining material goods, devaluing the arts to the sciences and technology or public policies, all of which constitutes an obstacle to achieving the realization of the subject, (the direct experience in the work done with theater groups) that the initiatives for the grouping seek the vindication of the students as individuals. This result, as one might suppose, does not cover the economic requirements, but the need to find that sense of existence and identity that has been lost by the inertia of consumption. In contrast to a consumer society that imposes economic, axiological and aesthetic perceptions, theatrical grouping is created around the small spaces (formal and alternative) that allow to claim the profession, resisting the norms and culture that prevail. From being possible actors or directors dedicated, in addition, to other activities and with multiple identities, the academization of the arts has gradually managed to combine the personal fulfillment and the singularity of the subject. - Abstract
Palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs) were synthesized by the reduction-by-solvent method using polyvinylpirrolidone (PVP) as capping agent. The nonstatic interaction between PVP and the metallic surface may change the properties of the NPs due to the different possible interactions, through either the O or N atoms of the PVP. In order to analyze these effects and their repercussions in their catalytic performance, Pd NPs with various PVP/Pd molar ratios (1, 10, and 20) were prepared, deposited on silica, and tested in the formic acid decomposition reaction. The catalytic tests were conducted using catalysts prepared by loading NPs with three different time lapses between their purification and their deposition on the silica support (1 day, 1 month, and 6 months). CO adsorption, FTIR spectroscopy, XPS, and TEM characterization were used to determine the accessibility of the Pd NPs surface sites, the electronic state of Pd, and the average NPs size, respectively. The H2production from the formic acid decomposition reaction has a strong dependence on the Pd surface features, which in turn are related to the NPs aging time due to the progressive removal of the PVP.

- Abstract
Pd and CoxPd1−x nanoparticles (NPs), synthesized using the reduction by solvent method, were loaded on SiO2 and Ti–SiO2 supports. The resulting catalysts were tested in the ammonia-borane decomposition reaction under dark and UV-vis conditions. The synergistic promotion by Co (in the NPs) and Ti (in the support), combined with the UV-vis light irradiation, enhanced the catalytic activity showing very promising TOFs values for this kind of catalysis, from 1.53 to 49.5 mol H2 per mol Pd per min.

- Abstract
This paper focuses on the synthesis of nanocomposite materials, TiO2/SAPO-34, using the sol–gel method, which involves preparing a mixture between as-synthesized or calcined SAPO-34 zeolite and TiO2 gel under hydrothermal crystallization and then calcining it at 400 °C for the formation of the TiO2 anatase phase. The structural and textural features of the obtained materials were determined by various physico-chemical techniques such as thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy, nitrogen sorption at 77 K, energy dispersive X-ray analysis and ultraviolet–visible spectrometry. The DRX results showed that calcination at 400 °C of the mixture between the calcined SAPO-34 and TiO2 gel led to the collapse of the original framework of zeolite, but formed the anatase TiO2 in a nano-spherical morphology; however, the use of as-synthesized SAPO-34 supports provides a mixture phase between SAPO-34 and TiO2 anatase after calcination. The photocatalytic properties of the SAPO-34/TiO2 and TiO2-type materials were tested for the removal of methylene blue (MB) dye. The MB degradation proved to increase as a function of contact time, catalyst mass and the initial concentration of MB.

- Abstract
Well dispersed iron catalysts were synthesized in silica (Fe0.0XSiO2) by a one-step synthesis procedure. These materials were tested in the propylene epoxidation reaction with gaseous O2. The influence of the iron metal loading on the iron incorporation and distribution in the support (both influenced by the synthetic procedure) were thoroughly studied (conversion, generation and selectivity). Electron Microscopy and UltraViolet–Visible (UV–VIS), Raman and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy techniques were used to analyze the iron distribution in the catalysts and to probe its incorporation into the silica framework. In situ FTIR was also used to analyze the interaction between propylene and iron-based catalysts. Computational calculations considering a single-site iron catalyst incorporated into the silica structure show a possible interaction between O2 and the incorporated iron atom and the olefin bond and the acidic proton neighboring the iron species which favor the reaction between the two molecules near the iron atom.

- Abstract
This article demonstrates how feminism welcomed and was influenced by the pragmatism of John Dewey. While in real terms his impact on European feminism has been minimal, this was not the case in contemporary America. In this article we study both how Dewey’s ideas were received amongst American feminists, as well as certain aspects of his thinking that could be enormously useful in present-day debates between critical and postmodern feminists. We compare the Deweyan and feminist arguments against the traditional dualisms that acted as philosophical support for social inequality, paying particular attention to mind–body dualism, and the consequent undervaluation of physical and emotional wellbeing. We also show that John Dewey’s proposals were, in fact, more radical than those of the feminists of the day. Indeed, democracy has to be understood as a way of life that affects every dimension of experience, and is crucial to the personal and social growth that enables the unjust social inequalities between men and women to be overcome., El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar la influencia y acogida del pragmatismo de John Dewey en el feminismo contemporáneo.

- Abstract
Novel hierarchical SiO2 monolithic microreactors loaded with either Pd or Pt nanoparticles have been prepared in fused silica capillaries and tested in the Preferential Oxidation of CO (PrOx) reaction. Pd and Pt nanoparticles were prepared by the reduction by solvent method and the support used was a mesoporous SiO2 monolith prepared by a well-established sol–gel methodology. Comparison of the activity with an equivalent powder catalyst indicated that the microreactors show an enhanced catalytic behavior (both in terms of CO conversion and selectivity) due to the superior mass and heat transfer processes that take place inside the microchannel. TOF values at low CO conversions have been found to be ∼2.5 times higher in the microreactors than in the powder catalyst and the residence time seems to have a noticeable influence over the selectivity of the catalysts designed for this reaction. The Pd and Pt flexible microreactors developed in this work have proven to be effective for the CO oxidation reaction both in the presence and absence of H2, standing out as a very interesting and suitable option for the development of CO purification systems of small dimensions for portable and on-board applications.
