The article offers information regarding the short-term and long-term statistics of the intentional homicides in Estonia. It mentions that the principles for the compilation of the homicide statistics were revised and changes were done to the corpus delicti of the intentional homicide wherein four corpus delicti was composed of the Penal Code which include manslaughter, murder, and the infanticide. It explores the level of the intentional homicide through the comparison of three periods including the Republic of Estonia before the Soviet occupation and the period of Soviet occupation. It says that the high level of the intentional homicide in the country was contributed by the social changes and the poor performance of the law enforcement authorities.
