The article reports that Carolina-rigged lizards, jig and pig in black, red/Brown; 3/8- to 1/2-ounce white spinnerbaits with Colorado blade are the best baits for Largemouth bass in Lake O' the Pines. Bass use the deeper water in this area to begin staging for the spawn. Part of staging is putting on the feedbag, so the fish can be aggressive. Spinnerbaits do the trick when fish are active; a jig/pig combo or black lizard will do the trick when bass are sluggish. Bass use the old riverbed as a thoroughfare to get to their feeding grounds. They will also be using it to stage for the spawn. Work a jig and pig along the dropoff to find bass, or a crankbait along the flat to locate active fish.
