Abstract
- Each spring, a dramatic change takes place at Lake Fork in Texas: The bass simply stop hitting spinnerbaits. Bass become accustomed to seeing or hearing certain lures and start ignoring them, acknowledges Richard McCarty, the senior guide on Lake Fork. Spinnerbaits, especially, are very flashy and noisy and instantly make themselves known to bass, points out Kelly Jordon, another longtime guide on Lake Fork. Anglers can change this tendency by employing severaldifferent tactics. The easiest change to make is in lure presentation, and the very first change should be to slow down and try to create a more natural effect.
