The article discusses responses to the outbreak of the virus known as Ebola in West Africa, particularly in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, during the early 21st century. According to the article, the Ebola crisis emerged following the intersection of economic, social, and political injustices that included weak health systems, insufficient development policies, and failed global health governance by groups such as the World Health Organization and United Nations. The article discusses the concept of structural violence, and incorrect assumptions about West Africa.
