Search

The search for productive methods of learning foreign languages is urgent for increasing communication needs of society due to globalization. The aim of the research was to find, introduce into the educational process and test the productivity of interactive methods that can be used in the study of foreign languages and the development of basic competencies. The study involved theoretical and empirical methods, pedagogical experiment and observation. The ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model was also used in the research. Linguodidactic tests were used to assess the skills acquired by students, which are part of the basic competencies. Mathematical methods for processing experimental data, Pearson's criterion and Cohen's coefficient were also used. The following were chosen among the 20 interactive methods: project method, discussion, conversation, collective analysis of the situation, role play, work in pairs, work in small groups and the use of mobile applications. Their effectiveness was investigated in learning the following foreign languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Polish. It was found that they have a positive effect on improving the correctness of language, its purity, clarity, accuracy, logic, expressiveness, conciseness. They also contribute to the development of skills to structure the report, analyse information, formulate and voice opinions, use language tools. Listening and reading improve the results, they develop the ability to correctly answer questions, express oneself in accordance with the given topic etc. Further research can be focused on identifying and developing new effective interactive teaching methods for development of foreign language competencies in students.

The article examines the advantages and perspectives of distance education development in the Ukrainian higher education system. One of the innovations in the process of organizing education in Ukraine, as a country that actively implements the demands of time and the Bologna process, is the actualization of distance learning, that meets the needs of the modern society, the society that needs a mobile professional who can implement the skills and knowledge in the globalized society, not only limited to the norms and standards of their own country. Distance learning is one of the promising and effective forms of higher education, which ensures the expansion of professional contacts, as well as greater use of the scientific and methodological potential of higher education. The authors consider the open educational resources to ensure the further effectiveness of the education system in Ukraine (in the context of society digitalization), to adapt it to the process of global integration. Open educational resources, both worldwide and Ukrainian, are the means for the development of skills and knowledge, due to which future professionals in a particular field have the opportunity to become more competitive at the labor market in the period of society globalization, achieving more significant goals.

The article analyzes the effective electronic resources used in teaching Ukrainian as a second language. The authors highlight informational, educational, and controlling resources. Using electronic resources in the Ukrainian language teaching and learning process facilitates the development of an active vocabulary and critical thinking of the international students, lexical and linguistic competence, intensive study of phonetics, spelling, grammatical features of the language, and the diversity of the educational process. The significant effect of these resources in learning a foreign language is related to digitization and how it has affected the modern young generation, who cannot imagine their lives without varieties of gadgets. Mobile applications, which can be downloaded to any device, are designed for students to learn the lexical minimum, develop the correct pronunciation, improve their spelling and vocabulary, and practice making sentences. At the same time, the use of electronic resources when studying Ukrainian as a second language requires the students to be thoroughly self-organized and motivated. They are programmed only to reproduce a certain lexical or grammatical field, have no student-teacher or student-student feedback, aimed at checking the level of knowledge assimilation at a certain stage. Electronic resources should be used, under the control of a teacher, as a simulator for mastering the lexical minimum and grammar. These resources cannot replace communicative situations and speech cases, during which students actively use vocabulary and master speech constructions, and thus acquire lexical competence.

The article reveals the problem of empirical research of training higher education institutions teachers in the context of the master's degree programme. This study specifies and adapts the methods of diagnostics, criteria for conducting teacher training which are reasonable, psychologically and pedagogically approved and could be implemented in the institutions of higher education of different profiles. It was found out that the training of a teacher within the boundaries of the master's degree programme of institutions of higher education is an actual task of three-level training of a specialist in Ukraine and requires a differentiated approach for institutions of higher education of various profiles. The components of the programme, based on their comparative characteristics, the status of teacher training in higher education institutions of different profiles with the application of certain criteria, indicators and levels were determined. Comparative analysis of the results of determining the levels of activity empathy and pedagogical reflection formation at the final stage of the study showed objective differences in teacher training in the context of the master's degree programme of institutions of higher education of different profiles. The perspective directions of the problem under consideration are the study of the didactic conditions of effective teacher training for the master's degree in higher education and the development of the concept of master's training in higher education institutions on this basis, the analysis of the influence of the main factors on the formation of a teacher of a higher educational institution in the context of a master's degree programme, in the profile professional training.

The article summarizes that the establishment and development of common language educational space of the EU were caused by an aggregated impact of external factors in the form of social, economic, and political processes within European integration as well as by intra-system factors. Both the institutional and legal base and the open method of coordination in the sphere of language education at the EU level create difficult intra-system and external ties, providing the integrity of the educational space. The creation of a common language educational space is based on conceptual frameworks determining the content of educational policy at European and national levels. Modern trends of higher education have been analysed through the multicultural aspect of society. The assumption about the appropriateness of continuous language training of students as the basis to form skills for intercultural communication has also been made. To check the credibility of results achieved during research and development works methods of mathematical statistics have been used. They included non-parametric methods of results comparison, which according to Kyveryalg are the most appropriate while professional analysis of pedagogical phenomena. It is explained by the fact that there is a limited number of quantity indicators obtained as a result of pedagogical studies (four levels of intercultural communication skills) in the science of pedagogy. The results proved the effectiveness of the developed methodology, which is based on the implementation of context-based learning techniques while learning a foreign language (English) by students.

The article addresses potential issues surrounding the development of the integrative readiness of pre-service teachers to work in inclusive classrooms in Ukraine. Integrative readiness is an open, dynamic, synergistic system functioning of cognitive, motivational, affective, and selective processes which is developed through the purposeful training of future teachers for work in inclusive, which is included in the educational social environment as a tool for acquiring productive knowledge, forming integrative skills. The structure of integrative readiness includes personality orientation; ability to perform their duties, professional competences; productive knowledge that the student receives from environmental information based on personal prior knowledge, skills, personal and professional qualities, and integrative skills that demonstrate the ability of an individual to make independent decisions and appropriate actions in unpredictable new situations. The levels of integrative readiness were investigated, covering the following interrelated stages: theoretical analysis, synthesis, comparison; modelling and technological design; generalization; observational; pedagogical experiment. A study was conducted. The research involved 285 pre-service teachers from the Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, enrolled in the Speciality 016: Special Education unit. A structural model of the formation of integrative readiness of future teachers for professional activity was developed which consisting of the following blocks: target, content and procedural, and resultant. The research finding reported that the effectiveness of corrective, developmental, and educational work in the educational inclusive space largely depended upon the quality of training of the pre-service teacher, and the use of active and interactive training.

This article emphasises the need to improve the level of financial literacy of the population, which is a qualifying driver of the harmonious development of the state's financial system and has particular relevance in the post-war economic recovery. The impact of the war on financial behaviour and the use of FinTech innovations by Ukrainians is determined. The purpose of the article is to clarify the peculiarities of assessing financial literacy and financial behaviour of Ukrainians during the war, taking into account the specifics of the impact of financial technologies (Fintech) on the economic development and welfare of Ukraine. The conceptual framework for assessing financial literacy and financial behaviour of the population is formed, which is presented as a set of interrelated elements. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted among Ukrainians, including those with IDP status, within the framework of the UK-Ukraine twinning grants scheme (Project UUT23 "Fintech as a fence for the shock and fuel for the recovery? Lessons from the war"). The results of the survey allowed us to formulate a set of recommendations both at the macro level and at the level of an individual provider to ensure that the financial market and fintech tools perform the function of economic recovery after the social trauma suffered by consumers of financial services. The relevance of the article is due to the emergence of new challenges in PhD training in higher education institutions in the conditions of martial law. The purpose of the article is to determine the peculiarities of PhD training in higher education institutions of Ukraine in the conditions of martial law on the example of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko. The systems approach was the leading one applied for identifying the factors, difficulties and types of support of the future Doctors of Philosophy. The article highlights the peculiarities of PhD training in Ukraine under the martial law; it distinguishes several aspects of PhD training; problems that arose in the implementation of the individual plan of educational-scientific work of a post-graduate student; support for post-graduate students. The materials of the article can be used by teachers involved in PhD training, who are forced to adapt to the new conditions of professional activity, for the heads of departments of post-graduate and doctoral studies. The relevance of the study is due to the need to study innovations in the system of higher music education. In this regard, this article is aimed at identifying the main factors influencing the quality of higher music education, disclosing methods of modernizing and monitoring curricula in institutions of higher music education, describing the main aspects of the formation of innovative education in the aspect of higher music education, predicting and justifying the possible consequences of introducing various innovative teaching methods not only in music, but also in other classes, for the preparation of future specialists for the education system and society as a whole. The leading method in this study is systems analysis, which can be used to decompose innovation in higher music education into elements. Also, in the process of writing this article, such research methods were used as: the method of logical analysis, the comparative method, methods of synthesis and deduction, the method of classification. The results of the analysis are presented in the article. Modern students independently and unconsciously innovate in their learning process. These include using a variety of online learning platforms, communicating and sharing experience with students and teachers of higher music institutions from all over the world via the Internet, using digital methods of information consumption to expand their range of knowledge about music, and so on. The article analyzes the effectiveness of financial management of the development of territorial communities in terms of assessing their investment potential. The paper covers resource potential disparity in different regions of Ukraine. The main attention is paid to macroeconomic factors affecting the level of territorial development. The government's limited financial capacity has resulted in uneven development of regions diminishing their benefits. The degree of social differentiation in different regions is reflected in the dynamics and structure of employment, the level of unemployment, the levels of income and consumption. The ways of creating favorable conditions for territorial development, gaining modern infrastructure, high living standards, and high-quality services are discussed in the paper. The purpose of the article is to consider the empirical calculations of the level of de-shadowization of tax gaps in the system-compositional model of the fiscal policy of the state. The methodological approach to cointegration of the level of de-shadowization of tax gaps into the system-compositional model of fiscal policy is substantiated, taking into account the strategic determinants of financial and economic development of the state. The method of calculation of the integrated indicator of strategic alternatives is presented and represents the configuration of the modified system of fiscal innovations in relation to the taxation of economic entities. A methodical approach to estimating the level of de-shadowization of the tax gap on the income tax of economic entities is proposed. The level of unit testing of variables of de-shadowization of tax gaps from indicators of financial and economic development of the EU and Ukraine is analyzed. It is concluded that one of the most influential factors today is the de-shadowization of the economy. The future directions are the research of the ways to improve Ukraine’s fiscal policy. Objective: Aim: To investigate the dynamics of law enforcement officers' physical and mental health components while performing their duties during the war in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and Methods: The research, which was conducted in 2022-2024, involved 114 law enforcement officers (male) from the Kharkiv oblast (Ukraine) of different ages: under 30 (n = 35), under 40 (n = 41), over 40 (n = 38). To test law enforcement officers' physical and mental health indicators, we used 3 methods: 1) "Fatigue-Monotony-Oversaturation-Stress"; 2) "Well-being-Activity-Mood"; 3) "Assessment of Nervous and Emotional Stress"., Results: Results: The negative dynamics of most components of the physical and mental health of law enforcement officers of all three groups while performing their duties during the martial law were revealed. The most pronounced significant changes occurred in such components as "Fatigue", "Oversaturation", "Stress", "Well-being", "Mood", "Nervous and Emotional Stress". The most pronounced negative changes in most components occurred in law enforcement officers over 40 years old, which is due to both the age characteristics of the subjects and their length of service., Conclusion: Conclusions: The research confirms the high complexity and extremity of law enforcement officers' service activities during the martial law, as well as the high requirements for law enforcement officers' readiness to perform tasks in the context of a significant expansion of the National Police's powers. The results obtained also necessitate the search for effective ways to preserve and maintain the physical and mental health of law enforcement officers.

Objective: The aim: To obtain the first national estimates of the current prevalence rate of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) after caesarean section (CSEC) and antimicrobial resistance of causing pathogens in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: Prospective multicentre surveillance was conducted from January 2020 to December 2022 in 15 women hospitals of Ukraine. Definitions of CAUTIs were adapted from the CDC/NHSN. Antibiotic susceptibility was done by the disc diffusion test as recommended by European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing guidelines., Results: Results: A total of 15,892 catheterized women undergoing primary CSEC and 13.6% CAUTI were identified. The most common uropathogen was Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Enterococcus species followed by Providencia stuartii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Many uropathogens isolated from CAUTI cases were found to be multidrug resistant., Conclusion: Conclusions: This study showed that CAUTIs in catheterized women undergoing primary CSEC in Ukraine is a common occurrence and many cases are caused by pathogens that are resistant to antibiotics. Optimizing the management and empirical antimicrobial therapy may reduce the burden of CAUTIs in catheterized women undergoing primary CSEC, but prevention is the key element.

Objective: The aim: To assess and compare the risk of maternal/perinatal complications and adverse outcomes in pregnancy and childbirth conceived by ART with those conceived naturally in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective multicenter cohort study from January 1st, 2019 to December 31st, 2021. This study included pregnant women who delivered at 14 Women's Hospitals from 8 regions of Ukraine., Results: Results: A total of 21,162 pregnancies were included. Of these, there were 19,801 natural pregnancies and 1,361 pregnancies after ART. The proportion of ART. pregnancies has increased every year in during study period, peaking in 2021 (6.7%). Data analysis showed that the risks of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, moderate or severe anemia, liver-related diseases, thyroid-related diseases, preterm birth, placenta previa, postpartum hemorrhage, and cesarean section were significantly increased in ART pregnancy. For neonatal outcomes, women conceived by ART were more likely to have twins. The effects of ART on the risk of premature rupture of membrane, cord entanglement, intrapartum fever, and cesarean section were more pronounced in singletons pregnancies., Conclusion: Conclusions: Women conceived by ART were at increased risks of several adverse pregnancy outcomes compared with women conceived naturally. Therefore, prenatal and intrapartum monitoring should be strengthened, and neonatal outcomes should be closely observed for ART pregnancy.

Objective: The aim: To obtain the first national estimates of the current prevalence rate of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in pregnant women and antimicrobial resistance of causing pathogens in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: Prospective multicentre cohort study was conducted from January 2020 to December 2022. The study population consisted of 36,876 pregnant women from 17 regions of Ukraine. Antibiotic susceptibility was done by the disc diffusion test as recommended by European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing guidelines., Results: Results: A total 29.5% pregnant women were found to have UTIs. Among these cases, 36.5% Asymptomatic bacteriuria, 51.7% Cystitis and 11.8% Pyelonephritis were observed. Of all cases, 87.9% were defined as healthcare-acquired UTIs and 12.1% community-acquired UTIs. The most common uropathogen was Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Many uropathogens isolated from UTI cases were found to be multidrug resistant., Conclusion: Conclusions: UTIs in pregnant women in Ukraine is a common occurrence and many cases are caused by pathogens that are resistant to antibiotics. Optimizing the management and empirical antimicrobial therapy may reduce the burden of UTIs in pregnant women, but prevention is the key element.

Objective: The aim: Of the work was to develop clinical and organizational regulations ensuring infectious safety and epidemiological response in the work process (the case of COVID-19) based on the current legislative acts of Ukraine to combat the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), as well as on the data from international practices., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: The research objective was carried out in accordance with the Methodology for the development of medical and technological documents for the standardization of medical care., Results: Results: The Protocol includes organizational elements to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, such as "The development of general provisions on infectious safety and antiepidemic measures during the COVID-19 pandemic in the company's workplaces, taking into account the legislative acts of Ukraine and international practices", which include: the development of "Health Questionnaire" (epidemiological data questionnaire) for daily monitoring of the company employee health; the development of "Checklist for self-assessment of the workplace", "Checklist for self-assessment of the public space"; the development of "Analytical report on compliance with the infectious safety rules in the workplace and in the public space on the basis of self-assessment", thirteen Appendices., Conclusion: Conclusions: "The Protocol for infectious safety and antiepidemic measures in the work process" is a detailed instruction that provides a balance of compliance with medical standards and reasonable needs of employees and employers through the implementation of scientific evidence base in antiepidemic and infectious safety measures in the workplace.

Objective: The aim: To obtain the estimates of the сurrent incidence rate of perinatal infections, risk factors, as well as their associated impact on mortality and determine the antimicrobial resistance of responsible pathogens in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: We performed a multicentre retrospective cohort study was based on surveillance data. This study included infants aged 0 to 6 days delivered in 2017-2019 at 11 Ukrainian regional perinatal centers. Definitions of perinatal infections and mortality were used from the CDC/WHO/UNICEF., Results: Results: Of 18,348 liveborn infants, 472 (2.6%) perinatal infections were detected. The incidence of perinatal infection was 25.7 per 1000 live births. The most frequently identified types of infections were: bloodstream infections, 35.6 %, lower respiratory tract infections, 21.4%, Meningitis, 18.2%, Conjunctivitis, 11.9%, skin and soft tissue infections, 6.6%, Dacryocystitis, 3.8%, and urinary tract infections, 2.5%. Early mortality rates from perinatai infections was 51.1%, with an incidence of 13.1 deaths/1000 live births. Potential risk factors the development of perinatal infections and mortality were low birth weight, prematurity, low gestasional age, mode of delivery (manual aid), premature rupture of membranes, preterm premature rupture of membranes, prolonged rupture of membranes, turbid and meconeal amniotic fluid, infection of the mother during labor. resuscitation during delivery, invasive procedure, asphyxia. Main causative agents of perinatal infections were Escherichia coli, Streptococcus agalactiae, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, CoNS, Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa., Conclusion: Conclusions: This study showing that the high incidence rate of perinatal bacterial infections, as well as their associated impact on mortality, and presents a significant burden to the Ukraine.

Objective: The aim: Based on the statistics study of the consequences of road accidents for human potential of Ukraine and quantitative indicators of criminal offenses in the field of road safety for the period 2016-2021, as well as assessing the risks to public health of Ukrainian society to carry out socio-legal and criminological analysis of the problem and identify key areas of the national approach to the implementation of the tasks of the Second Decade of Action to ensure road safety (2021-2030)., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: The study is based on the results of a survey of ordinary citizens of Ukraine on the state of road safety on the roads of Ukraine; information posted on the WHO website for 2009-2020; statistical reports of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, specialized literature on law, etc. The methodological basis of the research is dialectical, comparative, logical, analytical, synthetic, statistical, and concrete-sociological research methods., Results: Results: In Ukraine, among adolescents and young people at the age of 15-24, the first and main cause of death from external circumstances is death in an accident. Among young people aged 25-29 years, this is the second leading cause of death (after suicide). Every third child, being in the status of passengers, dies due to the fault of relatives and friends. One-third of all victims are pedestrians. It is estimated that Ukraine lost more than USD 308 million in GDP as a result of the deaths of road accident victims in 2020., Conclusion: Conclusions: In Ukraine, road accidents are a significant cause of death and disability due to external circumstances, and therefore pose a threat to the public health of the population. The death and disability of people as a result of road accidents cause huge material and human losses to Ukraine. An unsatisfactory state of legal awareness of Ukrainian citizens is a direct threat to public health and a source of the perpetuation of the generally unfavorable trend with the level of criminally punished violations of traffic rules. An important task of the Ukrainian state is to create a service of emergency specialized care according to world standards of so-called disaster medicine.

Objective: The aim: To study the dietary peculiarities of Ukrainian adolescents with obesity and to identify the eating disorders on the background of metabolic syndrome., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: A survey on the nutrition of Ukrainian adolescents was conducted at O. Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute for Social Research within the framework of the international project Health and Behavioral Orientations of Student Youth (HBSC), 2018. As a result, a sample of 200 adolescents with obesity (age 14-18 years: 100 boys and 100 girls) was formed, with the following examination by the Institute of Children and Adolescents Health Care of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine., Results: Results: A survey conducted revealed the problem of irrational and unbalanced diet in Ukrainian adolescents. Thus, irregular and unbalanced diet naturally causes digestive disorders and contributes to the formation of comorbid pathologies such as obesity and metabolic syndrome. The general analysis of the DEBQ survey results revealed that patients with metabolic syndrome were twice as likely to have abnormalities in eating behavior (71.8 ± 3.7)% than in patients without them (39.4 ± 4.1)%, (φ < 0.05). Adolescents with obesity experienced significant zinc and magnesium deficiency in the body (φ < 0.05)., Conclusion: Conclusions: Modification of eating behaviour through healthy balanced nutrition and psychological support is one of the most important tasks in the treatment of patients with obesity and metabolic syndrome.

West Nile Fever (WNF) is the most common arbovirus infection caused by West Nile Virus (WNV), which has been responsible for numerous epidemic outbreaks of disease among humans, birds and horses on all continents, with the exception of Antarctica, over the past two decades. On the territory of Ukraine, the earliest reports of cases of WNV circulation in humans and birds relate to the 70s of the XX century. In Poltava region WNF was first registered in 2011. Though the epidemiological and clinical patterns of WNF in Ukraine and Poltava region remain understudied, primarily due to the lack of alertness of practitioners to the problem of WNF and to broader access to laboratory diagnosis of the disease. The first clinical case of West Nile Viral encephalitis, registered on the territory of Poltava region, has been given and analyzed.

Objective: The aim: The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of recreational lands on human health and determine the priority forms of their use and protection., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: International acts, data of international organizations and findings of scientists have been examined and used in the study. The article also summarizes information from scientific journals and monographs from a medical and legal point of view on the basis of scientific methods. This article is based on dialectical, comparative, analytic, synthetic, and comprehensive research methods., Conclusion: Conclusions: Recreational lands positively influence human health through a powerful effect of natural healing resources in combination with health-improving and therapeutic procedures on the body, which is becoming increasingly popular, and in some cases, it is the most effective treatment of all. Recreational lands are an independent category of land with a special legal regime of use, characterized by a developed or undeveloped natural area containing natural resources for treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and prevention of diseases, which are under the special protection of the state and territorial communities. Special protection of the state in today's conditions is extremely important because there has been a negative trend in Ukraine regarding raider attacks. The objects of such attacks are exclusively those companies that are competitive in the market, have achieved significant profits, and continue to develop their activities by creating new branches and introducing new technologies. In particular, attacks on the property of agricultural enterprises and business entities that carry out activities in the field of IT services have become frequent inrecent years [1, p. 172]. The main target of attacks by raiders on agricultural enterprises is their land. Similarly, without state support and protection, recreational land can be the object of raider attacks. The priority form of using recreational land is the placement of resorts and sanatoriums that provide recreational services. Recreational lands can also be used for health improvement in the "wellness" form or within the framework of health tourism.

Objective: Introduction: Bloodstream infections (BSIs) are associated with high morbidity and mortality worldwide. However data of BSI from Ukraine are scarce. The aim: To obtain the first national estimates of the current incidence of BSI and antimicrobial resistance of responsible pathogens, and associated mortality in Ukraine., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: A retrospective multicenter cohort study was conducted at the 14 hospitals of Ukraine between January 2013 to December 2015. Definitions of BSIs were adapted from the CDC. The identification and antimicrobial susceptibility of cultures were determined, using automated microbiology analyzer. Some antimicrobial susceptibility test used Kirby - Bauer antibiotic testing., Results: Results: Among 20,544 patients, 3816 (18.6%) BSIs were observed. The rate of health care associated BSI was 92.4%. Death was reported in 68.4% BSI cases. The predominant pathogens were: Klebsiella pneumoniae (25.1%), Escherichia coli (17.5%), Staphylococcus aureus (9.9%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (8.9%), and Acinetobacter spp.(8.5%). The overall proportion of extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) production among Enterobacteriaceae was 24.8% and of methicillin-resistance in S. aureus (MRSA) 38.2%. Vancomycin resistance was observwd in 9.2% of isolated enterococci (VRE). Carbapenem resistance was identified in 33.1% of P.aeruginosa isolates and 63.2% of A. baumannii isolates. Resistance to third-generation cephalosporins was observed in 14.2% K. pneumoniae and E.coli 55% isolates., Conclusion: Conclusions: Healthcare-associated BSIs and antimicrobial resistance of responsible pathogens together with their associated impact on mortality, presents a significant burden to the Ukraine hospital system. Surveillance of BSIs may help to delineate the requirements for infection prevention and control.

Objective: Introduction: Severe intraventricular hemorrhages (IVH) in preterm infants are one of the major public health problems, as they can cause neurological and cognitive impairment, as well as lethal outcomes. The aim: To prevent the development of IVH in preterm infants by developing an algorithm for identification of high risk infants and a bundle for the prediction and prevention of this pathology., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: A multicenter study (2013-2016) was conducted, which included 117 premature babies who were on treatment in 4 medical institutions in the Poltava region (Ukraine). The group of children with severe IVH included 76 children (weight 1037.8 ± 43.7 g, gestational age (GA) 27.1 ± 0.27 weeks; girls 36/47, 37 %), with IVH III-IV st. by Papile L.A. The comparison group consisted of 41 children (weight 1758 ± 59.8, GA 32.1 ± 0.30 weeks, girls 15/38, 46 %) without IVH. The effectiveness of a bundle for the prediction and prevention severe IVH was studied in the Poltava Regional Perinatal Center (high level, 2000 births per year) during 2014 - 2017., Results: Results: The significant risk factors due to multiple regression logistic analysis are: gestational age (OR =0.28, р=0.000), anhydrous period less than 24 hours (OR =83,29; р=0.020), infusion of 0.9% sodium chloride solution during primary resuscitation (OR =16.73; р=0.042), episodes of arterial hypertension (OR =32.3; р=0.026), the number of leukocytes is ≥15x109/l at birth (OR=17.6; р=0.028). After the implementation of the Bundle, which included: an interdisciplinary check-list (between the obstetrician and the neonatologist), the algorithm for identifying children with high risk of IVH, a check-list for monitoring of the state of the child immediately after birth and an interprofessional check-list (between the doctor and the nurse), the IVH incidence decreased from 18.9 % to 11.4 %, p = 0.038, and the disability from 9.6 % to 2.4 %, p = 0.046., Conclusion: Conclusions: The Bundle is an effective tool for preventing of severe IVH in preterm infants.

Objective: Introduction: At present, the world faces an extremely heterogeneous situation in providing population with access to intensive care. In healthcare systems of different countries, there are significant differences in the number of available ICU beds per 10 thousand population. Even in the united Europe, the indicator is extremely variable and ranges from 0.42 ICU beds per 10.000 population in Portugal to 2.92 ICU beds per 10.000 population in Germany (a difference of almost 7 times), amounting to an average of 1.15 ICU beds per 10 thousand population The aim: To identify major trends in the number of ICU beds, the number of ICU patients and the rates of ICU mortality in Ukraine over the period of time from 2007 to 2015 based on the analysis of available data on the national intensive care service., Patients and Methods: Materials and methods: The data from the 2007 nationwide audit of the domestic intensive care service and the summarized 2015 annual reports from the regional intensive care services, encompassing all the healthcare facilities that provide intensive care to population (819 hospitals in total) and represent 22 out of 26 administrative territories (regions) of the country, have been used to carry out comparative, 2015 vs. 2007, analysis and establish major trends in the indicators of interest., Results: Results: The negligible increase in the number of ICU beds on referential territories in absolute (from 4.765 to 5.049) and relative (from 1.4 to 1.5 per 10 thousand population) figures have been found within the period of time from 2007 to 2015. In contrast, more prominent increase in the number of ICU patients (from 385.068 to 462.395 in absolute figures and from 111.6 to 138.2 per 10 thousand population) and in ICU mortality rates (from 8.4% to 8.7%) have been established. The average Ukrainian figure of the number of ICU beds per 10 thousand population for the year 2015 (1.5) seems to be roughly comparable with the corresponding European one for the year 2012 (1.15)., Conclusion: Conclusions: The inclining trends in the number of ICU patients and ICU mortality rates, against the background of negligible growth in the bed capacity of the national intensive care service, indicate the need in the increase in the number of ICU beds in Ukraine.
