The aim of the study is to describe the images that accompanied information about the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccination and treatment of the virus in the following digital news media: ABC, Deia, EITB.eus, El Correo, elDiario.es, El Mundo, La Razón, La Vanguardia, Naiz and Público (20202022). A sample of 15,654 single images was studied, of which 15 clusters were identified with Artificial Intelligence techniques, including the algorithm Inception V3. The analysis is based on the combined use of a series of innovative techniques within the field of Communication. This methodology involves a large data set of images, along with the use of AI techniques such as embeddings. We opted for an unsupervised strategy, typical of exploratory and inductive research. Among the results, the identification of different typologies of images used by the medical and health-oriented media, representations of death and of the human drama caused by the pandemic, linked to the more political and economic dimension of the vaccination campaign, stands out. The images analyzed are part of 'political communication': a communication model that seeks and reinforces the relationship between the government and the media, and vice versa, to generate confidence in the management and in the system itself. The diversity of approaches observed is a positive value as it contributes to establish a more multifaceted and richer operational social reality. The media show different preferences when it comes to visually representing the issues, which translates into an unequal distribution of the same. The objective of this article is to carry out a case study of 10 documentaries from Spain and Latin America to show how the reality of women is represented. The methodology of content analysis is used through formal, content and aesthetic variables. These are personal stories of women from low social class, middle age, in rural areas, who denounce injustices related to mistreatment, exploitation or abortion, compared to historical documentaries starring women from high social class who are pioneers in their field. This study looks at OpenCourseWare (OCW) in Spain, a country where most public universities have tried to promote that particular model of open educational resources (OER) provision among academics. Using three universities with varying levels of OCW activity as a case study, this article examines key drivers behind the implementation of OCW initiatives and unpacks what it means, as an academic practice, to engage in OCW authoring. Following a qualitative case study approach and a multi-methods design, this study offers a basis for theoretical generalisations that can be useful for understanding similar dynamics taking place within different organisational contexts in Spain and beyond. The findings reveal a major disconnect between the drive to implement OCW initiatives in Spain and actual opportunities for academics to engage with them as part of their work. The author concludes that the extrapolation of a highly prescriptive model of OER provision into institutional realities different from the context where it was originally devised--in this case, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States--is rather problematic. The article also provides some recommendations to university leaders and policy makers, encouraging the creation of alternative models that are mindful of the institutional and cultural specificities of their own contexts and also to take into consideration the social and material realities of the communities they aim to provide with lifelong learning opportunities. In this article, a descriptive synthesis of the activities carried out by the Landscape Group of the Spanish Association of Geography is made. Special attention is paid to the field and debate sessions organized on the occasion of the Landscape Work Sessions held during the 2017-2022 time period. The following article explores the activity developed by the online petition platform CitizenGo during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. This digital platform was created to "defend and promote, in a useful and effective way, life, family and freedom" by means of petitions and online actions. Through the analysis of 19 campaigns deployed by this organization during the state of alarm (between the months of March and June 2020), the organisation's discourses are identified, as well as the strategies and resources used online. The final objective is to identify the features of the campaigns, as well as the narrative configurations of this association and to determine the pattern in the elaboration and dissemination of ultra-conservative narratives on the Internet. In conclusion, we can extract how the coronavirus pandemic provided a discursive opportunity for CitizenGo to disseminate its agenda through strategies of polarisation and conflictive and antagonistic narratives of social reality. Traditional festivals in Andalusia, far from suffering diminished importance, seem to have experienced in recent times an unexpected revival, adapting to different social circumstances in order to continue generating enthusiasm, in spite of the pressures of the globalization that threatened to diminish their functionality. Evidence of this festival impulse is the proliferation of pilgrimages throughout the autonomous community of Andalusia, especially in the province of Huelva (Spain), as forms of collective expression of popular religiosity. Departing from a frame of functionalist analysis, the author establishes the usefulness of this analysis of religious ritual as a strategy to move closer to social reality. In this sense, the pilgrimage is analyzed as proof that participation in these rituals fulfills a function that goes beyond the strictly religious; it reinforces interpersonal social integration and strengthens social belief, at the same time highlighting the symbolic identification of the local participants with the patronage of certain images. The media participates in the creation and reinforcement of mental models, through which people interpret social realities, especially those that are distant and unknown. News making involves the use of certain frames that highlight some aspects of the information and downplay or silence other elements. In this context, the objective of this article is to analyse how China is portrayed on the Spanish news, and identify the organising ideas and value judgments that are used in the frames used in this process. Based on the application of the content analysis technique, the results show that the portrayal of China, its institutions and citizens, on television is carried out through four main frames: "Capacity, potential, development;" "Gloom, shadow and darkness;" "Dangerous environment" and "Exotic organisation." From the Western perspective, Chinese economic growth is accepted, but at the same time China is presented as a problematic country in which natural disasters, accidents, and criminal acts abound, highlighting its systemic political deficiencies and systemic deficiencies. This mostly negative image of China does not correspond with its current and historical relationship with Spain, nor with the relevant position that this emerging power has reached on a global scale. This study aims to analyse the acceptance of gender violence in Spanish and Cuban populations. We analysed the influence of sexist beliefs and other ideologies that justify unequal gender relationships. A total of 230 men and women from Spain and 200 from Cuba participated by answering a questionnaire. The results showed the effect of participants' gender and nationality as well as ideological variables (sexism, beliefs in a just world and codes of honour) that legitimise the status quo of gender violence. The male participants and the Cuban participants accepted violence against women more than the female participants and the Spanish participants. What is more, the results showed a pattern in the influence of the ideological variables that differed depending on the participants' nationality. In Spain, the relationship between participants' benevolent sexism and the justification of violence was mediated by codes of honour. Forty-nine Spanish cities form part of the Spanish Smart City Network (SSCN), in the confidence that improved competitiveness in Spain requires increased intervention by its city councils. The conversion of a city into a smart city requires a new model of administration adapted to the social reality and one in which public-private partnerships prevail. In this study, I examine the extent to which technical education served to form a new middle class of industrial technicians during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera in Spain. The principal means of achieving this, the Industrial Education Statute of 1924 and the Vocational Training Statute of 1928, were aimed at the working classes and the petty bourgeoisie. The intention was that both groups would support the State's social and corporative system whilst at the same time promoting the country's modernization. In this paper, we focus on the southern cross-border area between Spain and Portugal, which includes eighteen different municipalities on both sides of the border. We gathered information using a number of different techniques from a wide range of informants, including politicians, experts on cross-border cooperation, a broad range of civil society organizations and common citizens. Our objectives were to make a broad diagnosis of social reality in this area, to understand the dynamics of territorial development, including the possibilities and limitations of community development, and to obtain clear insight into the characteristics of the social networks that Portuguese and Spanish citizens are currently building. Our results contrast with existing assumptions on these issues, particularly regarding the relationships built by Spanish and Portuguese citizens, the social network arrangements they establish, the relative importance of the spaces of places and the spaces of flows and the sense of community on both sides of the border. We also question more general notions regarding the importance of cross-border cooperation, especially insofar as this concept usually emphasizes institutional relationships while overlooking non-formal and informal relationships between people. These latter relationships, we argue, may have greater potential to influence the sustainable development of the cross-border area between southern Portugal and Spain. We highlight the role of bottom-up activities that would promote closer relationships between Spanish and Portuguese citizens and communities and would change the typical social networks they establish. In modern societies, the media have a role in the social construction of reality. The negative representation of the Spanish media that make immigration, strongly influences the perception of it as a problem. In this speech, have practically no fitted for the cultural and economic contribution of the phenomenon, although sometimes it does specify their rejection of racism and discrimination, is insufficient to predominantly an avalanche of conflicting events. Try to illustrate what is said through the analysis of journalistic accounts from newspapers such as ABC and El País. Gossip magazines in Spain have evolved and adapted their reasoning to the new social reality, the demand for other types of information not only that of "tabloids" but also in terms of practicality and directed at a specifically feminine audience. A change that has been stimulated by the decline in terms of audience and the propagation of such magazines, by competition from other weekly publications which have flagged the pattern of new contents and by the various business changes which have taken all the magazines analysed, with the exception of ¡Hola!/Hello!, to be absorbed and thus, moving away from being family enterprises becoming multinationals in the publishing industry. A quantitative analysis of broadcasted violence by the main television (TV) channels transmitting for Madrid (Spain) was carried out using a novel method that randomly selects fragments of delimited duration from TV broadcasts. The device selects acts of aggression shown in those TV extracts, and classifies them according to their type. There was a high incidence of aggressive acts, especially physical (particularly leading to death), in TV fiction: films, serials and promos. The device also allowed examination of the prominence of aggression in children's programs, as well as showing minimal variation in the number of aggressive acts over screened time intervals. The pattern of the collected data suggests that the broadcasting of violence on TV emphasizes the conflicting elements of social reality, reproducing it in fiction, news reports and children's shows. Business ethics is not a novelty: it has important antecedents, among which we find the Spanish "Salamanca School". Its most brilliant period was during the sixteenth and early seventeenth century, a historical epoch when Spain was one of the principal centers of commerce in Europe. In this article, we present a panoramic view of business ethics as developed by this school and discuss its potential contributions to new developments in business ethics. The Salamanca School was primarily focused on action, yet ultimately oriented to the agent. The Salamanca School's authors were theologians seeking to harmonize faith, reason and social reality. Many of them were very well-acquainted with the business dynamics of their day and issued precise assessments of them. In their writings, they also considered fundamental aspects of the market economy (property, prices, monopolies, profit, etc.). Their moral reasoning follows the natural-law of Thomas Aquinas, but places greater emphasis on empirical data. People with disabilities encounter numerous barriers when dealing with the simplest and most usual things in their daily lives. This is even more remarkable when they are faced with archaeological heritage buildings or environments. People with reduced mobility come too often upon architectural barriers that stop them from enjoying their visits to sites and monuments. This paper introduces a virtual reality (VR) experience developed to provide people in wheelchairs with the most realistic sensations while virtually touring some archaeological sites. To this end, the remote sensing of the site enables the production of a realistic 3D model leading to the creation of a virtual world that the user will explore. This VR application has been developed to traverse one of the most important monumental buildings in Spanish Protohistory, the site of Cancho Roano (Zalamea de la Serena, Spain).
