Abstract

Forty-nine Spanish cities form part of the Spanish Smart City Network (SSCN), in the confidence that improved competitiveness in Spain requires increased intervention by its city councils. The conversion of a city into a smart city requires a new model of administration adapted to the social reality and one in which public-private partnerships prevail. In order to encourage this transition, innovation projects are currently subject to EU funding within their Research Framework Programme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
