In this article the author discusses Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York City, and the involvement of his business interests, principally Bloomberg LP, a mass media conglomerate, in lobbying. It is noted that the Bloomberg organization was in the forefront of a drive to stop the acquisition of NBC Universal, a television and motion picture company, by Comcast, a cable television operator. A number of topics are addressed including the income sources of Bloomberg LP, the expansion of the consumer business within Bloomberg, and the operations of Bloomberg Television.
